1221  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin good for the economy? on: February 20, 2020, 07:05:29 AM
Bitcoins have three useful qualities in a currency, according to The Economist in January 2015: they are "hard to earn, limited in supply and easy to verify". Economists define money as a store of value, a medium of exchange and a unit of account, and agree that bitcoin has some way to go to meet all these criteria.

Still boils down as to how people are going to used their bitcoin, do they want it to become a store of value? Or when merchants started to accepting Bitcoin as payment scheme, will people going to used it?

So this kind of arguments/counter arguments are moot in my opinion, as Bitcoin or crypto are really challenging the way old economic systems are being viewed upon, IMHO.

As I read some articles about mass adoption about bitcoin, most people are having a good feedback about it. We can't deny that bitcoin really is a good digital currency and altcoins are just an alternative.

Probably, the answer to you question is YES. In the country that accepted bitcoin as a currency, some merchants or markets are accepting bitcoin as a mode of payment in some transactions. Although bitcoin is very volatile, some traders are there just to store bitcoin until it increases its price again.

As the demand about bitcoin increases, it is more likely to give a big impact to the economy. Bitcoin is the most used cryptocurrency and I know that a lot of people are guaranteed to promote bitcoin in some part of the world to improve mass adoption. By that, economy of that country will improve and undergoes development.
1222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is getting more adopted in my Country on: February 20, 2020, 05:31:04 AM
                      ~snip~

Actually, I haven't used it yet; still anticipating. However, the ATM location is distant from my exact location (maybe an 8 hours drive). But if I get to use it in any way, I'll still give a review based on what I experienced.
i thought you have actually used the machine the way i read your thread lol,but anyway that is too far 8 hours drive.

another question is Does your country has no Banks that offers Crypto atm's?i mean like in my country that there are some banks who has given us cryptonians privilege to use their machines.

but thanks for always sharing your thoughts and experience to us here,it really motivate us more.

It is very hassle for us bitcoin users to adjust because here in our country, cryptocurrency is not yet fully adopted and regulated that's why we are having a hard time using it. Otherwise, we will move to a country that's fully adopted the cryptocurrency like Turkey, Singapore, and etc. If that's the only way because i'm pretty sure that it will take too long before my country approves to use it in a daily basis. As people here who uses cryptocurrency increases, the more people here are going outside of this country to completely use it. Most of the ATM's here are only using fiat currency that's why if you're a fan of crypto then you should make your own way.
1223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't be a hypocrite and admit that you are a gambler on: February 19, 2020, 05:34:10 PM
Practically everybody in this section is a gambler, that's why it's called the gambling section.
Everyone is in some way interested in gambling but not everyone does it on a daily basis or has that gambling activity influence his normal way of life.

When you hear stories of people gambling constantly that is already a problem. I think it's hard to define your priorities like that.

It is rare to find people when they are not interested in gambling after they try it. Most of the people who tries to play gambling are getting interested and addicted to it. They see that gambling is enjoyable as they win and they will never notice that as they bet their money, they will get lose without even noticing it. So based on my observations, no matter what is your state in life, once you gamble, there's a high percentage that you will do it again, and again, and as you do it many times, you will become addicted to it. But it still depends because people can handle their greed and emotions so they prohibit themselves to lose a huge amount of money.
1224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Curious About Bitcoin. on: February 19, 2020, 05:05:20 PM
but why people need to search for Bitcoin price over Google when they can directly check via exchange?does the Google answer is more accurate than just opening each sites available?like Coinmarketcapitalization that most of us uses as reference ?and also why OP did not put Links about where is the basis of his statistics.
I'm surprised "Bitcoin price USD" is higher than "bitcoin usd" or "usd bitcoin", that's what I search for when I don't have my price monitor open. But that's probably just me I think
Where did you see that? And why think it's important? I don't understand what you mean. The bad news here is people are mostly looking for the price of Bitcoin on Google and not for what it is. It means people who are interested in Bitcoin as for now already possess Bitcoins, and the amount of newcomers is low. Undecided We don't seem to be in a massive adoption period.
lol he thinks that the indicated numbers in OP is the prices of Bitcoin ,not the numbers of Searches made by people asking for price .maybe he did not totally read the OP so he has something to ask.

Newbies are not that knowledgeable in exchange, but professional holders are. If you're new to cryptocurrency, you will always ask Google because the only thing that you know is Google and not the exchange. In some countries, they ban cryptocurrency that's why it is not easy to access it using google.

As mass adoption develops, the bitcoin still continuously become an ideal digital currency because it is the best in crypto. Most of the people searched the mostly use crypto and it is bitcoin, who will look for the less profitable coin like altcoin? Probably, newbie or beginners are looking for something that will really benefit them easily. So that's why they look for the most famous and coin with large population.
1225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gaming Industry and Cryptocurrency! on: February 18, 2020, 07:24:03 AM
Cryptocurrencies and the GAMBLING industry can fit very well, but I'm not so sure about cryptocurrencies and the gaming industry.More than 10 years since the creation of Bitcoin and several years after most big altcoins were created,I can't see a game using cryptocurrencies to buy and sell virtual game items to be really popular and successful.Congratulations about the Minecraft server that uses BTC and let's hope that the Fortninte clone game will launch successfully, but those aren't original concepts.Copying Minecraft and Fortnite isn't enough. We have to come up with a unique crypto game concept that can't be exploited, with a virtual game item marketplace that can't get manipulated.
I found the post by Asuspawer09 very informative. I agree with you that gambling and cryptos go together very well, but I don't think that's enough. Gambling has a big problem: it's stigmatized in society. While gamers can also suffer from addiction and it's a big deal, people see gambling more dangerous and unworthy. This means that while it's good for adoption, it might not be that good for reputation. Gaming, on the other hand, is neutral, because while some suggest that it's harmful, others say the opposite. Cloning games is not very good, but I believe that gaming and cryptos can go really well in the future because people often buy stuff in games, and cryptos are indeed convenient for that.

I don't agree with that, but in some other way it still depends.

It depends on the person, some people uses cryptocurrency to be used in game is for their own enjoyment so not all gamers who tend to pay with cryptocurrency are addicted. For your information, using real money in the game is already adoption since it enters gaming platforms. As time goes by, the number of gamers are continuously multiplying and most of it are men. If men really want to excel at gaming, they will really try to do anything and spend a lot of money, that's when being addicted came in. But for me, I'd rather play games that is free-to-play and just spend my bitcoin cryptocurrency in a more important thing in everyday lives just like a practical person.
1226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among us here has been addicted but successfully cured addiction? on: February 15, 2020, 06:48:57 PM
The only way to cure is to learn how to develop a healthy and balanced relationship with money. Psychotherapy or cognitive behavioral therapy is the best way of treatment.
Proper mindset is the way to cure gambling addiction.

Even a gambler have a good relationship with money if his mind is saying that "he wants to gamble" then it will be useless. Other kinds of therapy will work with the gambler and I will include the family ties in here. Family will be a good help for the gambler because they can help him in order to be cured. Another way that can help too is that let the gambler live to a place where there is no near casinos and let him give some things that can spend his time on it like playing games etc.

Practice and application is a must and you should keep in gambling.

People are really dumb when it comes to gambling, that they want an instant profit. Gambling is not about only money, it is also about entertainment for you to relieve your stress. They should keep in mind that kind of point of view or mindset in playing gambling. Therapies are only needed if people really can stop themselves from gambling. If you're a wise gambler, you should give them some tips and advice so that they will not have a hard time gambling. If you don't want to lose your friend, or if you don't want them to ruin their life because of gambling, if you're a professional when it comes to that, it should starts with you with a proper mindset.
1227  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Cyptocurrency at Gaming industry on: February 15, 2020, 05:49:40 PM

https://www.theverge.com/2017/12/6/16743220/valve-steam-bitcoin-game-store-payment-method-crypto-volatility

If ever mag karoon ulit ng acceptance ng crypto sa Steam, I think ito talaga yung the best application for me. Andami kasing pwedeng maging benefit dun eh.

1228  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you use a trading Bot? on: February 15, 2020, 05:19:03 PM
Do you use a trading bot and what's your favorite trading bot?

Also what type of strategies you use with the bot? And it is profitable for you?
I am manual trader because i can't get good setting for bot, my friend said that "you must  create your own setting" so until now i prefer to use manual trade. And i think with manual trade i am not rely my investment in bot and only to myself.

Did you have a circumstances where you're busy at work, doing your profession and you don't have time doing trading? It is hard to trade and at the same time working with your profession, that's why some people prefer to use trading bot and their feedback about using it is always good. Although it is hard to manipulate your account without bot, trading bot is always there and willing to help you anytime you want to trade, no matter what ot when. If you're busy, just use trading bot and input the strategies you want so you don't encounter any hard time using it.
1229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PEOPLE WILL NEVER STOP FALLING FOR SCAM on: February 15, 2020, 04:44:42 PM
Yes it is very impossible that scam will be eliminated completely because there will always people who wants easy money with less work. Scammers on the other hand, are very good at persuading people which is why a lot will also fall for it. For me, the best way to avoid getting scammed is to always do research and do background check of the project before investing money.

Way back before, the scammers are quite having the huge advantage because most of the system is quite simple. They could just use different phishing sites and just target almost everyone. But in comparison to what we have for today. The scammers are quite reduced because of the regulations that we currently have for many sites. This leads to a conclusion that we have more chance of today, to avoid scams with the help of systems. And this means that, if we get scam by someone, technically, it could be considered as a human error and mistrust to someone we don't really know.

I don't think that scammers are reduced because based on the reports, scammers are multiplying as beginners are also increasing. It is not easy to prevent being scammed most especially when scammers are experienced and professional. It is not good also to just let our fellow newbie trader to become always a victim ot those scams so we should give them advice that will improve their security in trading. Avoiding human error is a must but it should be lessen and focused on the security of his transactions. Most especially, technology are really advanced and it is hard to stop them for doing the same thing over and over again.
1230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: After losing did you feel you must return the soonest to win back your losses? on: February 14, 2020, 05:09:11 PM
I found it as one of the most interesting question from this article. http://www.gamblersanonymous.org/ga/content/20-questions

Do you guys have that kind of feeling when you are losing in gambling?
There are times that I feel this kind of situation especially if I can feel that I will win the next time I gamble again, it is only natural for a gambler to win back it's loss if possible the sooner is the better.

But in many cases I let my temper to cool before I gamble again as being greedy is not the best option to win back again my loss though sometimes I gamble with greediness and most of the results are lossing streak instead of winning.

Sometimes I give myself sometime to move on and take a break for a while because greediness can lead us to more losses. Losing streak is really more likely to happen if you push yourself to your limit just to bring back the losses you had. Gambling again after a loss lowers the probability of you winning again because the environment and the feelings is still there, the feeling of being a loser in gambling. So it is important to become fresh again and rest so that when you gamble again, everything is new. No hard feelings, no stress, and you are just focused to win and enjoy the game. The true purpose of gambling is for an entertainment and relieve stress, it shouldn't become a source of stress and depression. If that happens, seek help from the professional gambler who are always there just to guide you.
1231  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A good book to learn how to trade. on: February 14, 2020, 03:34:08 PM
Book is good to study to have a background knowledge of trading but at the same time, we should bear in mind that we need a practical knowledge to be able to take down everything we read from the book and trying them out. This will help us to restrategize if it not working.

If you read books, you will only gain knowledge and not experience. It is very hard to trade when you don't know what is really happening in the market and during transactions.

Strategy is hard to perform when you only read books, because in books, it only states the type of strategies and not the consequences and advantages of it. Planning and performing strategy is always based on your technical analysis about the movement in the market. In order for you to become an effective trader, you should always apply and perform the basics that you have read. You also need to practice the strategies, in order for you to know the good and bad effects of it. It is not bad to make mistakes, but if you make the same mistakes again then you have a problem with the way you trade.
1232  Economy / Economics / Re: What will be the affect of Valentine day on Bitcoin Price on: February 14, 2020, 03:02:17 PM
What a stupid question! I just wait to see the question "how the sunrise affects Bitcoin price?".
It's really hard to understand that anyone who is seriously involved in Bitcoin would pose such a question or really think there is any connection between Bitcoin price and Valente's day. This makes me laugh.

There's nothing wrong with asking some questions about the event if it will affect bitcoin or not. In some ways, I'm pretty sure that even a little, it has an effect to the market. Due to the Valentine's Day, demands in some goods will increase its demand and bitcoin can be used in some transactions so they will experience less hassle. If you don't want this kind of question, it is still your choice if you will ignore it or post about it. Mind your own business and people here wants to learn more and be updated about the happenings in the market and bitcoin.
1233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Recommend me good altcoins! on: February 14, 2020, 10:38:37 AM
I recommend Ethereum and XRP,

Ethereum become so popular and even rise further, and it is because of continuous development and various platforms that accepts and support ethereum. It is also easy for everyone to use/access.

And of course, XRP, the third largest crypto in the market. Even being centralized, you can realize that it is indeed for long term. The reason is because it is accepted by banks and they have a strong partnership with largest financial institutions.

These are only a few of good reasons why I recommend these two,

Ethereum and Dash is the best in my selections.

Ethereum is the secondly known cryptocurrenct next to bitcoin because of its continuously growth and progression in the market. Its development really become trending because of its price that varies in time. The volume of the people using this is also developing and people are really adapting to this altcoin. It doesn't need you to mine for it to have it, you just need to do a lot of work.

While DASH is also good, it is an above average level compared to those other altcoins. Its price also gets increasing over time and through its development, people also preferred to use this as a substitute or an alternative to bitcoin. It also has the potential to give you profit although not instant but based on the work you do.
1234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA All Star MVP betting odds. on: February 13, 2020, 01:13:25 PM
A close competition happens in the basketball in which everyone's on the list is trying to prove that they worthy of praises.
Lebron James is not new to this and even awarded for many times but yet, he is old enough and be sometimes outperformed by new aspiring players just like Giannis, Doncic and the last year MVP finals Leonard. But the possibility for LBJ to win again is till at a high percentage knowing that many LBJ fanatics are still supporting him.

Luka Doncic needs more experience and time for him to become a Most Valuable Player in the NBA. Although he showed us what he got, I know that he can improve more and bring us more highlights. In terms of Lebron James, he is just being hyped because of the fans and people who are supporting him even though he is old enough. I think Giannis Antetokounmpo will win this MVP Award for the 2nd time. As you can see in their team standing, they can dominate the whole NBA. It's a tough loss for them against the Indiana Pacers but I know that they will win more games again and it is not impossible to happen. I'm hoping for the Milwaukee Bucks to win this 2019-2020 season.
1235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone trading on "Decentralized Exchanges"? on: February 13, 2020, 12:28:30 PM
And what is the principle of trading precisely on a decentralized exchange? The fact is that at the moment there is not a single truly decentralized exchange on which there is liquidity. I see no problem using centralized. I think in a few years there will be really big and decentralized exchangers.

The government are those who will benefit from the exchange and other fees. Decentralized exchange are good but there are variety of factors to consider for it to become effective. It is not easy for a society to really adapt bitcoin because it is very hard and very hassle to use. Exchanges are the one who make the transactions delayed because it really causes some errors. People only appreciate centralized exchanges because they not yet tried to have a transaction using decentralized exchange for a more secure trading.
1236  Economy / Economics / Re: Countries and their own cryptocurrency! on: February 13, 2020, 09:35:04 AM
I think I agree that this is not a good idea.

Let's say that some country has its own cryptocurrency and if another country maybe a group of people wants to take that country down, they would just try to manipulate the cryptocurrencies they have. Just imagine the power of the whales when that happens.
and this is not impossible to happen as i think, because whale power can control even the most powerful currency Bitcoin then what More those money created by each countries?yeah this is very risky on this point but maybe there are some regulation that each of them can provide so they will not be abused in times like that?those currency has been around for quite now yet manipulation still not in effect.

Whales are more active when they know a some conflicts about cryptocurrency. Some of them are just patiently waiting in the market until something happens. Each countries will experience conflict if the cryptocurrency they made is getting under the control of the whales and you have nothing to do with it because they have huge amount of money to invest. They are more likely to be a pests in the market that they don't give some chance to other to invest. They always manipulate the market no matter what currency or country they are in. So it is better to just focus on bitcoin, which is the world's famous cryptocurrency.
1237  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your trading app? on: February 12, 2020, 04:01:41 PM
I only have the old but reliable Binance apps on my cellphone and some local exchanges to obviously convert USD to my local currency. Although I stay away from trading and just had few occasional buy order to execute in last 2019 up to this day. And we wouldn't like to use TradingView? one of the most useful apps so far we have, regardless if you're a beginner or advance trader.
What do you think when trading still use mobile phone running good or not, I only trade with computer because look easy when opening many tab with checking some altcoin price during trade with some altcoin, I think not easy when trade using mobile phone with many exchange market look hard for access.

Binance is still the best among those trading exchange for cryptocurrency because of its features that is so effective than other platforms. As you trade using binance, you can really monitor the price in the market because it is always updated. TradingView is also good but it really lacks some features and also having some errors sometimes in withdrawal but it is not often. It is more secure to trade in computer and it is more safe because you don't need to go out. In addition, using mobile phones is hassle because of the screen that is hard to see most especially when you have problem in your eyesight. Also it is easy to manipulate your account using computer so you prevent to send in a wrong addresses that can make you lose a big amount of money.
1238  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Investment on: February 12, 2020, 02:51:55 PM
Well, the risk is existed in most of domains including this one but it is pretty necessary in order to reach your goals in shortcut way, but make sure that taking the risk without a strategy, it may make you lose all your money and in a short period. In addition to that, investment in crypto is so appropriate in this time, but try to pick the potential coins for most of your budget ( 65% ) like, Bitcoin, Bitcoin SV, Ethereum, Tether, Litcoin and Bitcoin cash, and you can take the risk with the other percentage (35% ), to be honest, I don't give a big attention for the other altcoins so and I can't give an advice .
Altcoins are not worth short trade at the moment so you shouldn't bother yourself trying to.
But instead you can make a research about them and make one long investment which can be multiplied in several years.

First, bitcoin is still the best cryptocurrency no matter what state it is now, either high or low. Both bitcoin and altcoin are risky but bitcoin is worth it when it goes up again. Seek advice or help to those crypto investors so that you will have ideas what to practice and become effective in investment for crypto. You should not get ideas while doing investment, you should do it before investing money. Altcoins are just an alternative, although sometimes it may give you profit but not that certain that you will get a huge amount and it can also bring losses to you. So it is much safe to invest in bitcoin.
1239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can save some people's lives :-> on: February 12, 2020, 11:39:54 AM
All the analogies you are telling do make sense. It's time to use digital currencies like bitcoin for transactions financial.
One of the benefits can avoid transmission of disease, it's an indisputable fact. So from that I always start it from myself
to always do transactions digitally. But since my country doesn't allow bitcoin as payment, I use digital transactions such
as mobile banking and internet banking to buy all the necessities of my life.
Yes it is a good practice that we always do online transaction or digital transaction just like mobile banking and etc because of this we will be able to purchase and do transactions through the use of mobile phone only or our personal computers, this online transactions makes our life more good and the necessity that we are gonna do so it would be better for all of us because of that we will be able to lessen our work by just doing online transaction and through the use of digital currency.

Although it is technical, it is on point but it only makes people more anxious about the virus that it can increase their fear and lead them to some stressful thoughts. Maybe they will think that all of the people they encounter have the corona virus, it is inappropriate, most especially when you're having transaction using fiat currency. Judging people like they have a virus will lower your confident and you will degrade the self-esteem of the person that you are having communication with. Practicing safety and cleanliness is good and appropriate but judging people is not. Try to ask them first if they have the virus or if they're fine before doing some actions for you not to be anxious. Know first the people you have transaction with, so that you know what currency you will give, either bitcoin which is digital or fiat.
1240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Addiction Can Seriously Diminish The Quality Of Your Life. on: February 11, 2020, 04:35:36 PM

Not sure why you felt the need to bump a four year old thread in order to post this.

If your husband had an issue, then it's not his fault you guys had no money to buy food, he should never have been allowed to access your money in the first place.

What's the name of the free rehab clinic though? A huge people need that service around here.
I shared my story in the hope someone will understand it is realluy possible to overcome addiction.
Speaking about the name of the clinic, I edited my post and added a link there.
I can actually relate to your situation as I will share a story of my own. So, basically my neighbor was into gambling not bitcoins but just gambling in real life like betting with people, drinking alcohol and getting late to the house and abusing her wife. We as neighbors knew what was going on but none of us actually cared too much because of this abrasive and rough behavior.

Now, the lady his wife decided she had too much and she actually left him once forever, the guy got even bigger in debts and almost got to begging for money. Somehow his brother who was living in other city came and got him to a rehab center and you won't believe he now lives with his wife (the old one came back Wink and he is much happier now.

Moral : Some addictions needs to be treated properly and professionally.
It is the bad sides of addiction where you do gambling where you do not have control in yourself anymore and you also have different vices. I became addicted in gambling both online and in real life, yes it became one of the hardest challenges in my life but now I'm here where I overcome the addiction. It can really diminish your life if you have doesn't control anymore in your emotions and feelings. For those who still stuck in addiction, seeking professional advices may help.

Before engaging in gambling you should know first the pros and cons of gambling. For me, it can bring 30% profit and 70% losses to your money so if you want to gamble, you should understand that it will make you enjoy playing and at the same time accept losses if you're not lucky. But if you have luck, I guarantee you that it will be worth it. Addiction is a person's choice and not someone's mistake because at first you should know the effect of it to your life. Self-discipline is a key for you not to become addicted to gambling and also minimize your losses so that stress will not come into your mind
