1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a good time to start accepting BTC? on: May 26, 2022, 06:34:09 PM
It’s ALWAYS a good time to accept Bitcoin. Historically it’s appreciated a lot. Enough to make it worth your while.
2  Economy / Marketplace / Re: The story behind the $160,000 pair of socks (Unisocks) on: May 26, 2022, 06:33:04 PM
I wish I got in on unisocks when they were $200. But at that time it was hard to see the use case tbh
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What ever happened to casascius coins?? on: September 18, 2021, 07:04:51 PM
I remember back on 2013 there were lots of people picking up casascius coins. Who still has theirs?? Anyone willing to sell some?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Spikes in Street Level Crypto Use on: September 24, 2019, 11:35:25 PM
The article cites that a surge in low-level use cases: prostitution, drug sales, child pornography trades have all surged which was the inspiration for CipherTrace's Scout app. Apparently the app will flag bad addresses and ignore everyday users allowing users to know whether their token has a criminal past.

what are your thoughts on a mobile app that does this? Necessary?
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CipherTrace Scout App Takes Crypto Investigations Mobiile on: September 24, 2019, 11:22:43 PM
Does anyone know which currencies Ciphertrace's app works with?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance(BNB) best alt coin ! on: September 23, 2019, 07:38:20 PM
Does anyone know if it will be listed in the US?
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Companies Competing to Create Crypto's FATF Solution on: September 23, 2019, 07:28:41 PM
The Financial Action Task Force recently recommended a set of compliance guidelines for crypto exchanges. One in particular looked at the 'travel rule' requiring exchanges to verify and keep records of users identities when sending between exchanges. This article shares some of the companies dealing with the response to this recommendation.

I found the company CipherTrace's TRISA one of the better solutions because it has no associated costs, looks to obtain as much privacy as possible and will likely define the standard across all exchanges.

Will be interesting to see what the best solution will be regarding compliance and regulations.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: OkEx Korea removes all privacy coins on: September 19, 2019, 06:27:49 PM
Are we 100% certain that Korea has implemented regulations? Would be interested to know which countries (if any) have put crypto regulations into place. I can see Korea or China being one of the first to do so
9  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Are You Afraid of KYC? on: September 17, 2019, 09:52:00 PM
not necessarily. I like what ciphertrace has put out in regards to helpinig exchanges to mitigate the travel rule guidance.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Friends & Family adoption - Share your experience. on: September 11, 2019, 11:56:15 PM
I feel like my parents are still generally confused no matter how many times I have tried to talk to them. Does anyone else agree?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How often do you check crypto prices? on: September 10, 2019, 08:22:14 PM
BTC daily and the others every other day
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mass adoption growing or decreasing? on: September 10, 2019, 08:17:05 PM
I've been impressed with the adoption. Honestly there have been more countries and large corporations looking to adopt blockchain than before. The blockchain platform NULS even launched a 10-minute pop up blockchain that allows any developer not just those that are native inblockchain to spin up something
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CipherTrace Enters Race to Solve Crypto's FATF Compliance Headache on: September 10, 2019, 06:55:06 PM
I would rather have a cybersecurity firm like Ciphertrace try to step in and offer something that is working to preserve crypto than the government implementing their own form of regulated tracking.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Why isn't anyone talking about NULS? on: September 09, 2019, 06:45:15 PM
Pretty impressed with NULS technology and recent announements regarding their upgrade and newly announced staking alternative. This coin has seen some subtle growth for a good reason and will continue to go up in value imo.

Would really like to connect with anyone who has also invested in NULS and hear your thoughts
15  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Crypto, Cash and Drugs: Crypto Use Grows as Drug Trade Digitalizes on: September 09, 2019, 06:26:22 PM
I think most of the people who are buying on the darkweb are confident knowing that it won't be traced back to them because it's too challenging. I would imagine companies like Ciphertrace would only start to investigate when there are large amounts of money moving.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yes!! Binance To Provide VIP Status For Hacked Accounts on: August 29, 2019, 07:30:34 PM
I think it's really the only thing they can offer besides repaying their funds. It's a great opportunity for them to gain trust back imo
17  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Amazon Fire on: August 27, 2019, 11:40:31 PM
I would imagine it has to do with large deforestation gone wrong. What we can do is pay attention. This was a wake up call and I think we need to be more conscious of our actions whether that is waste, how we eat and how we generally treat the planet.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Token Staking Reward Sysytem: The SCO on: August 27, 2019, 11:38:23 PM
Has anyone looked more into this? Is it currently underway?
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 76% of dark market using Bitcoin on: August 27, 2019, 11:27:17 PM
Most individuals still prefer using BTC for transactions, either for legitimate or illegitimate purposes because of the relative price security in terms of market cap. Users would not mind using an mixing/anonymization service instead of using  privacy coins.

I read somewhere that companies like Ciphertrace that do blockchain forensics are able to track funds even if after they run through a mixing service. How legitimate do we think these mixers are for btc?
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Impact of Bitcoin growing Dominance on the Crypto space on: August 26, 2019, 09:33:10 PM
I think anything that was the first of something will hold value. People are finally seeing the importance of crypto and we have Bitcoin to thank for that. there might be new coins that could dominate but BTC is vintage and one of a kind.
