https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1197818.0

I think I remember reading about the SMART miner awhile ago.  If you look at their website, they are offering 20TH/s for 2100 watts of power.  That is half the power consumption of Bitmains brand new chip.  I find it hard to believe that a company no one has ever heard of has somehow developed a chip that beats the leading manufacturer in the Bitcoin space, not by a little, but literally blowing their machines out of the water.

Contact the guy on Craigslist and ask to see the miner and see them in action.  I would not buy a thing unless he can verify in person that it indeed gets 20TH/s while using 2100 watts of power.  That sounds way to good to be true, and usually when it is too good to be true, it usually is.

EDIT: I am also fairly sure that the picture they are using on their website is a stock photo that many scams have used time and time again of an old computer, can't remember the name off of the top of my head though.  Also, not sure why they would mention you can plug a mouse and keyboard into it, that means nothing and shouldn't really do anything.  Also, have 2 Ethernet ports is a little weird.  Personally, just too many little weird things that collectively add up to equaling scam.

These companies are just a test of avarice versus intelligence.  It's like saying I'll sell you a car that gets 1000 mpg but no one else has one and it's top secret.  If they had a real product people would know who they are and people would be buying from them.  The only real companies with a chip I know of right now are:

Bitfury
Bitmain
Avalon
Spondoolies
Sfards
KNC
BW/Bitbank is working on one

For the most part if it's not one of those companies, it's probably a scam.

http://www.ledauphine.com/ain/2015/10/09/hausse-des-impots-locaux-de-plus-de-70-psychodrame-dans-un-village

1652  Local / Annonces / Re: Deltacredits on: October 16, 2015, 03:29:52 PM

1653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Δ DeltaCredits - Decreasing supply - SRF - 4 days left to invest - on: October 16, 2015, 09:28:34 AM
Really bad idea, ICO, low supply and besides destroy this, I dont see how it can work. I need read again. I must have missing something.
Yes, there were a few people that couldn't understand how a decreasing supply could have a positive effect on a currency, I'll make a clear explanation now, similar to the one I made on reddit for a few people.
To many people, a coin that has a decreasing supply seemingly does not have a use. However, from an investor's perspective, a growing scarcity in an asset results in an increased value. Of course this isn't definite, but it is a prediction based off of one of the prime laws of a free market.
Most cryptos gauge their values from sheer speculation, and a lot of those currencies are highly inflationary. Currencies that multiply in supply over the course of a few months tend to devalue at a similar rate, if there is no market force "playing the price".
What DeltaCredits does is the opposite- coins are bought off the market using funds from cloud mining contracts, and are in turn sent to a burn address (essentially, the coins are destroyed). This will occur on a daily, transparent basis. As less and less coins become available, and as the sell order book thins out, the currency will appreciate in value, naturally. It is a hard concept to grasp, and this tactic hasn't been employed by other currencies as of yet. DeltaCredits is the first, and if all goes well and as expected, it will be no surprise if other coins adopt DCR's game plan.

From an investing perspective, some people are going to loose what the others will earn as usual.
From an economic perspective this is really fucked up.

I am going to insist on the later. When you play and create new currencies and systems you have to ask yourself, what is the purpose ? and ultimately what is money for ?
There are different use of money, the most important is being a medium of exchange. For example, I could have 99% of the money in the world but ultimately it is worth nothing if I cannot spend it. Money have to be exchanged with other people for goods or services.
You have the guts to make it clear "a coin that has a decreasing supply seemingly does not have a use".
That the problem here, there is no use.

You could have done something much more interesting by incentivizing/motivating people to use and burn their money.
There was a very interesting example with Chancecoin. This crypto included a betting system : if the player win, more money is created but if he loses, the money is destroyed. As the odds are in favor of the house (destroying) (a house edge of 1.0%), the coins are more likely to decrease.

Even with this genius idea, the coin did not succeed because of technical limitations. The betting system was secured but way too slow, so people stopped betting, the project died.

It would be interesting though to find an effective incentive for people to burn their money.

Just my 2 cents. Don't take it bad but I think investors should be warned that it has been more or less tried before and it never worked.

EDIT : I just got an idea, why not decreasing the coin supply AND incentive people to burn coins ?
1654  Local / Annonces / Re: Deltacredits on: October 16, 2015, 08:54:44 AM

Lol n'importe quoi.

I just stopped using facebook a week ago and distanced myself from these social media sites, but still I can see people everyday holding their phones and hear those chat sounds almost everywhere! It's crazy, but the fact is people are still hooked up with the charm of fb, and I think tsu or any other social media sites would replace Facebook in the top spot for the years to come.

And you know what makes me crazy ? The fact that all these people hooked on Facebook on their phone connected to the Internet are the ones that laugh at geeks, technology and innovation.

It remind me of Bill Gates in 1995 talking about Internet. Look at all these people laughing at his face :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=lz6IQX7uDk4#t=155

Nice idea, i ever heard about this site(but not join yet), indeed this social network is interesting, it will be great if they adopt cryptocurrency.

It would be awesome indeed.

it's need have an invitation for join?

Yes but I cannot put any link because it would be a referral and mods get crazy about it.
I can give you my nickname though : superresistant
Add it at the end of Tsu URL and see what happen : https://www.tsu.co/(add my nickname here)

While I like the idea, its certainly not new[1]. I dont think facebook will be their problem. Facebook is too old and not very popular among the younger demographics. IIRC it should have hit its peak already. It will go down and be replaced like it replaced MySpace.
Ill have a look at, feel free to send me a ref link via PM. Is it something new though or "just another facebook"? I dont think the payment for content alone will make them. They need something else.

Are u kidding me? it has more 'younger' users than whatsapp which is pretty much the second popular social platform.

Here's a breakdown of how eMarketer predicts market share will change for different U.S. demographics for the top social nets over 2015 and 2016.

[Update: The number of total social network users in 2015 below should be 179.7 million including users under the age of 18. All other total figures include this demographic.]

Assuming that we get there in three months and that ether and bitcoin prices stay the same (heh), we have enough to last until roughly Jun 2016 at the 340,000 rate, and perhaps up to Sep-Dec 2016 given planned transitions; by that point, the intent is for the foundation to secure alternative revenue sources.

1660  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Tsu, the facebook alternative to add Bitcoin ? on: October 15, 2015, 11:18:09 AM
I am member of tsu and I can tell that is not gold everything which shine. I was active there for a limited period of time an had some activity. I haven't see any cent from those. Maybe I have not made the right activity or maybe my activity was not enough that me earn money; I don't know this. But I know that the time spent there is wasted time for me. At least so was all my time spent there.
If those will paid in bitcoin this can be a good thing. But if they will not give satoshi for being and having activity there (as it is promised) this is not a good thing.
I am a member of Tsu, and up until now I can't fully understand how sharing posts and liking some content would net me something in return. Afaik, they once integrated bitcoin to their system, back when I'm still a newb in bitcoin.

I just discovered this website but I was expecting that the average user would not make any money, exactly like the average user of YouTube.
If I compare with Facebook, the value of each user is about 141 USD. Source. But that is an average.

A lot of people earn their life with a YouTube channel. It should be possible to do the same with social network like facebook.
As I said, not everyone would make a living, only some people.
One could combine a YouTube chanel + a Tsu page.
Everyone should be allowed to transfer money and tip. It is probably the absence of easy tipping system that stop people from making money.

well i idid not know about tsu, never hear about it, but what im 100% sure is that to spread the word of the bitcoin is always a good idea, through tsu or in any other way.
so from my point of view, if they start to do it, it will help.

Agree.

And you OP must remove your referral link from your main post. I had a 10 days ban only for posting a such link.
i just notice that, you are in truth, he should remove it.

Done.
