101  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't trust social media on: January 14, 2024, 11:02:34 PM
Thanks for that warning, but I'm just curious what social media it is and can you at least drop the name so that it's easy to avoid once someone encounters this?  Is this a vlogger or an influencer?  If so, sometimes it depends on the reputation to which people easily entrust their funds and avail their offer.

There are too many strangers on social media, I even received a bunch of messages on my social media regarding crypto trading and creating an account, offering help for free but usually I ignored them especially if I didn't know who I was talking with.

Cases like this should always put in our mind that we should always be knowledgeable first in crypto before putting our funds.

103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When is the next alt season? on: January 09, 2024, 11:59:31 PM
There's an altcoins season just because of Bitcoin.
When Bitcoin price increases, of course, altcoins too because most trading pairs are in Bitcoin.  The reason why is like this, Bitcoin holds the highest market capitalization and liquidity among all cryptocurrencies those traders and investors often use Bitcoin as a gateway to the cryptocurrency market.

So trading pairs of Bitcoin makes there's an alt season.
So wait for the Bitcoin price to push through and allocate a bigger percentage on Bitcoin than altcoins.
104  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the difference between crypto trading and traditional stock trading on: January 09, 2024, 11:38:09 PM
Most have similarities, from speculations, and management risk, and the tools they use in trading are almost the same (TA and FA).
But IMO, the only difference is the time zone in trading.

Crypto trading, it's a nonstop trading operation because it operates 24/7, so providing continuous trading opportunities.
If we compare it to traditional stock trading, there are specific operating hours during business days based on the exchange and country.
Also in forex trading, it operates 24 hours a day during the business week, reflecting different time zones.

So it means, there are a lot of traders on crypto even though we're in different time zones.
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your predictions for the state of Bitcoin in 2024? on: January 09, 2024, 11:23:50 PM
Even if it doesn't reach it ATH, but there will be a massive push.
The price of this year could be a good start to reach the ATH.
I've witnessed twice that there's a massive push right after the next halving the 2nd and the 3rd halving which all of them bring a good price to the Bitcoin.  A month(s) after the next halving the price went crazy and that's what most people anticipated now.

We've seen a lot of predictions over the internet and most of them have a positive perspective that Bitcoin will have a potential this year or in next year.  No one knows, we should rather prepared.
106  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: More reason you should protect your privacy and anonymity as a Bitcoin holder. on: January 08, 2024, 11:59:46 PM
Yes, this isn't new in crypto, we heard different sad stories in crypto that happened to our fellow crypto enthusiasts because they didn't care about their privacy.  But there's nothing we can do about this get learn from their mistakes.  We should value our Bitcoin like real money and I think, this kidnap and ransom not only happen on Bitcoin but is usually common in fiat.

So to avoid this, we should be cautious about sharing information that could be used to predict our actions, especially posting it on social media.
Most especially those habit of displaying expensive belongings in public or on social media.
107  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading bots on Binance on: January 08, 2024, 11:33:48 PM
It might be those only members active in trading who received a notification because I didn't get notified about this.
Sounds new to me, and I'm thinking now it seems another marketing strategy on Binance that might be effective for those people who want to use a third-party trading bot.

Based on this article on Binance, there are top 10 Binance trading bots, I wonder now where this free trading bot comes from, from a third party or from Binance itself.

Can you update your thread if you've tried it already?
108  Economy / Reputation / Re: Would you tag these users? on: January 08, 2024, 02:36:54 PM
IMO, only borovichok was inappropriate and the rest was accurate.
I don't see using AI posting should be on the red tag, it might be good if it is a neutral one for only awareness from others, as long as it wasn't copy-pasting from other websites.  Reporting to the mods is the right thing.

tjtonmoy - cheating bounties (it's of forum rules)
jvanname - trolling (it's on forum rules)
Symmetrick - changed password, suspected change hand.

But my question is, have all of them been presented with information to defend themselves?  It seems there's a chance that it will turn to neutral as the feedback says.
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's Your Exchange to Wallet Ratio? on: January 08, 2024, 01:57:52 PM
Storing BTC in Trezor is recommended by many people and besides Trezor there are Ledger and others that you can use. Congratulations to you who have finally used Trezor to store your BTC.
If I'm not mistaken, there are a bunch of reports about wallet hacks on Trezor.
So therefore, I might consider this Ledger wallet as a good hardware wallet than Trezor.  It has a lot of security features that you can trust or can countermeasures against attacks.

I use exchange when I want to convert my crypto into fiat and nothing else, but I didn't let my coins sleep on exchange for the long term.
It should be your coins stored on the wallet that you have full control over, never trust SAFU at all on the exchange because IMO, that's only a marketing strategy that people have their trust.
110  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Step you have to take before venturing into the market on: January 07, 2024, 11:59:24 PM
(5) plan your entry and exit point: most times this lack of planning cost us dearly, because failing to plan is like planning to fail.
The right term in trading is that, STOP-LOSS.
This is very important in trading especially if you're new to this battlefield.  You should have all those battle gears in order to start trading.
A lot of people lose their money quickly because they don't have even a knowledge or lack of knowledge entering the market, they just rely on their luck, not their skills.

We've seen a bunch of advice from newbies about trading tips but I don't know if they apply this in real trading activities.
111  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain vs Platform vs Chain on: January 07, 2024, 11:15:30 PM
a platform is the parent blockchain of tokens.

Does that mean the Platform IS the Blockchain the token is on?

Can it also mean something else?

JH
Because tokens don't have their blockchain.
Tokens are usually created on existing blockchain platforms that support the creation of the platform, or to develop another utility.
When someone wants to create a new token, they deploy a smart contract on the chosen blockchain platform that can be transacted on the same blockchain platform, and all token transactions are recorded on the same blockchain they use.

The said above was right, many are confused about the coin and the token thinking they are the same which I think you must understand first.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: have anyone notice this $btcinu on: January 06, 2024, 03:39:49 PM
It's new to my ears and I found it's a memecoin.
There's nothing wrong if you want to take a risk, it's a high risk to invest in altcoins like this, especially in memecoin.

However, this isn't new.
How many developers believe they can create a cryptocurrency that improves upon certain aspects of Bitcoin, such as scalability, transaction speed, or privacy features?  How many projects existed the same as this?
These new coins aim to offer unique features that address perceived limitations in Bitcoin, but in fact, Bitcoin is still the best to invest in.

Look at their unique solution.
  • EASY ACCESS WORLDWIDE
  • INSTANT GAINS
  • INCREDIBLE TREND POTENTIAL
  • NO LIMITS

Sounds only want hype.
113  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does inactive users deserve merits? on: January 06, 2024, 03:06:36 PM
Merit is for good posts. The user shouldn't matter.
You nailed it, direct to the point.

If you think the post helps you and you've agreed with it, that deserves to be merited, it doesn't matter the user account status. (inactive, having a red tag, or even a banned account).

Look out for this user account, which has been inactive since December 13, 2010, but until now year 2024 received merits.
114  Other / Meta / Re: Please can someone authorized help? I do not know what to do on: January 04, 2024, 02:56:46 PM
I haven't sent a PM for a long time bro, I still don't understand what happened Sad
It's explained above but yet you didn't understand.

Just like what was posted by theymos years passed.
Ridiculous Blizzard DMCA takedown notice

So you posted something like images or content that's copyrighted by someone, a company, or a big website that has already established a brand name.  I think that's the thread that you created a long time ago related to selling stolen cards.
115  Other / Meta / Re: Please can someone authorized help? I do not know what to do on: January 04, 2024, 02:15:13 PM
You're still lucky that it's not a permanent ban.
Usually, copywriting is equal to plagiarism which has a big punishment of surely banning the account and as I said, you're lucky enough because the lowest to copyright is the DCMA.

Just read this, https://bitcointalk.org/contact.php.
It might help you to understand the legal complaints.
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 10 Gainers Among Token on: January 02, 2024, 11:59:26 PM
Why all of them are different tokens that listed on Coinmarketcap.
They also have Gainers and Losers tokens.
Are they different?

People who invest in tokens are most likely into gambling to me.
I do not even know which of them has potential, so congrats if you invested in all of these but be careful, it will become shitcoin without knowing you.
117  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Im looking for funded traders to trade with my capital on: January 02, 2024, 11:40:08 PM
Im looking for traders who will trade with my capital and instructions.
You will be using my funds and trade according with my method.

Anyone interested ? And you will be paying my share every week to me or 2 weekly how i want.
You need to have some experince Im not gona teach you basics so i hope to find some good partners.

Thank you !
On which exchange?

I've been a victim of scam attempts like this before.  When someone asked me to trade using his fund and the exchnage that I didn't know, but since I'm using his fund and there's nothing to lose with me, I tried it out.  But when he said to withdraw the fund it asked for a deposit and he told me to place a deposit using my own money.  I hope this isn't a similar case.

If so, this is a legitimate offer, you may be prone to scams too.
If you know how to trade, just do it by yourself instead.
118  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for January on: January 02, 2024, 11:26:27 PM
I thought last month the price of Bitcoin had a massive correction since it's more in holidays and people will need money during these holiday seasons.  But it is not, Bitcoin price is maintained at the price of $40k which is impossible to decline in January by this month.
So my prediction would be the price will still at the range of $40k plus the additional factor of ETF events might also be the reason Bitcoin will possibly create a massive pump this month.

So I'm not convinced yet if the price will strike and pump with this month.
119  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Can you recommend a web wallet other than blockchain.info? No KYC on: January 02, 2024, 11:09:47 PM
Can you recommend a web wallet other than blockchain.info for bitcoin primarily and with no kyc (no id). Thanks in advance
If you are looking for web wallets, you have blockchain.info and trustwallet.com but I strongly suggest you to do not use them. Still if you decide to use them, at least generate an address and import, don't rely on the address that they generate because you have 0 access to keys.
To be fair, the blockchain.info wallet is annoying, you need to verify email every time you try to log in. It's good for security but it's not comfortable. For safety reasons, I suggest you use electrum wallet. I know it doesn't have the best UI/UX design but it's the best choice in terms of safety.
I tend to agree, I'd rather prefer to use a trusted software wallet than a web wallet like blockchain.info.
There are a lot of complaints against them like losing their fund, blocking or freezing their accounts, the worst case, there's no customer support to answer your queries once there's a problem.

Straight forward to the software wallet Electrum, you have full control over your keys.  It's completely no KYC.
120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did anyone else know there is an Insured BTC wallet? on: January 02, 2024, 10:56:07 PM
I dont know that there are still people who believe in this crypto insurance company these days, trusting third-party companies for your crypto isn't a good idea at all.  Might they forget that Bitcoin was created in a decentralized way that you can protect your money on your own and no need for a third-party service.

Even though Binance built a good reputation and has marketing ads of having SAFU of all customer's funds I still don't believe in them.
I know how to keep my funds safe.

I doubt that this service will end up scam soon.
