61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you stand to gain from the bull run. on: February 18, 2024, 11:53:58 PM
We should start asking ourselves question like, how far have we gone in our Bitcoin accumulating process?  If the bull run comes this week, how much can we milk out from our current holdings? if we had any.
This week?  I don't think that's the ideal time to sell out your Bitcoin.
Remember that the halving hasn't come yet and after that it's expected there's a huge skyrocket in the price and possible it will create another ATH.
So, I would rather hold for another month and wait for the right moment.

We don't know what will happen next in the crypto market since it's very volatile.
As long as you didn't sell below the price upon purchasing, your good, and that's considered as beneficial.
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: hi all, please tell me someone, which wallet is better for bitcoin address watch on: February 18, 2024, 01:34:59 PM
I saw a few replies above favor on Electrum wallet which also I preferred to use.

But a mobile app?  That isn't recommendable.
It's more secure in a desktop wallet but it's up to your preference maybe.

It could be a desktop wallet for larger holdings and a mobile wallet for everyday transactions.

However, there are services that monitor Bitcoin transactions that you might consider to watch your address without accessing your wallet.
Just search for your address.

Narratives, enforced by censorship, don't work, dear american people.
It's quite good that there's moderation on the forum to avoid low-quality posts the same as your post.
So, nah!  It's not censorship.

It's already mentioned above that anyone here should be encouraged to follow the forum rules. (all of us)
64  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which sort of investor are you? on: February 17, 2024, 11:44:55 PM
The safest option is not to trade when you think you’re not prepared for it. Don’t risk your funds by trying to trade when you know you are not that good enough. There’s still a lot of options left to be profitable, or just settle with bitcoin hodling, wherein there is less preparation and is less risky. In the end, you will gain the same  amount of profits if you just hold patiently a good amount of bitcoin.
Though you're right that holding is the best and safest way of making a profit but how will you learn to trade if you do not try on it?
Just accept the fact that trading isn't talking all the time about profit, sometimes you need to lose just to learn the process of trading and that's the sad reality of trading.  Even those people called themselves experts in trading may still experience losses in that field.

If you're aware of all of this, keep in mind that to trade the amount that you can afford to lose.
Think about gambling and trading are almost the same, trading is less risky than gambling if you're an experienced trader.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I want to convert my SMT token to BTC on: February 13, 2024, 11:32:35 PM
I have 250000+ SMT token. I want to convert it in BTC. Do you know any way?

We have it all on Coinmarketcap, USDT and Ethereum (ETH) pairs, then you can exchange them for Bitcoin (BTC) based on trading pairs, so why not go there and sell all your tokens on the market?
That's right, I think OP is confused about these trading pairs that don't have Bitcoin.
As many mentioned above, choose an exchnage that has a high liquidity trading volume like Gate.io, sell to USDT or ATH, and after that, your USDT or ETH trade to BTC.

Think about the gas fee transferring your token to exchange, you need to refer to this site.

66  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Preventive measures not to lose your btc on: February 13, 2024, 11:19:39 PM
Great input, even not newbies must know all of these.
It all starts with limiting your exposure or privacy practices, we should be mindful of our online presence and the information we share especially since people now are everything in social media.  We should avoid disclosing the amount of Bitcoin we hold publicly, and always be cautious about sharing our wallet addresses and posting on social media using our real accounts.

With this thread, it raises awareness for those people who don't know how to protect their Bitcoin holdings.
To avoid scams in crypto we should have this knowledge and awareness.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need more influencial women in crypto to help the gender embrace it? on: February 13, 2024, 11:02:22 PM
The debate on gender arises where there is no equality and women are treated down. This means that for the same work done, women will be paid less and men will get higher pay. These kinds of activities can be seen in some places. In such a situation, there is a need for stronger women who are capable of fighting for their rights. Here, no such issues were recorded, as the majority of the activities take place in an anonymous manner. Compared to the past, the involvement of women in the cryptospace has increased. This is quite good and appreciable.
IMO the reason for less number of women in crypto might be women may be more risk-averse and less likely to invest in or pursue careers in such fields.  Plus factor of this lack of confidence may deter women from participating in male-dominated spaces like involving in crypto.
That's why, most of those influencers are men, not women but hopefully, in the future, there will be great women influencers.

But sometimes I think that we shouldn't need influencers and gender doesn't matter since we're all here in this space wanted to be anonymous for privacy matters.
68  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 50k is exciting on: February 12, 2024, 11:59:33 PM
Yeah it definitely is exciting but this over excitement of holders not patient enough is what has caused drastical increase in fees.
The reason why we always see immediate correction when the price goes up is because of these people who can't patiently wait.
We can't blame them and it might they're a short time holder, but the problem is after selling their Bitcoin they need to wait another month before making another entry point on Bitcoin investment.  Let them realize that repentance always comes at last.

Just keep holding on even though it reached $50k.
ATH isn't yet come.
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A blog about someone planning to retire early with Bitcoin on: February 12, 2024, 11:55:25 PM
In the end, perseverance seems to be the key here. He's not putting an incredible amount of money down every month, but still he has managed to obtain a lot of Bitcoin, 4.47 BTC from his last update.

Have you tried something similar?, maybe now thinking about doing it?, I think it's a great idea.
That's a very inspiring blog, 4.47 Bitcoin is quite a huge amount of money that he can manage and I think this blogger belongs to a middle-class family that can afford it even though their investment is in long term.  This shows how the DCA method of buying Bitcoin is still worth investing in rather than a huge amount once at a time.

During uptrends, positive news and hype surrounding us, such as investing in Bitcoin, become more prevalent.
This positive statement just like on a blog can attract more investors who believe that Bitcoin will continue to appreciate as a potential investment.  Expecting there are more good stories around when Bitcoin touches in a new ATH.
70  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why are people getting scared to Trade on: February 12, 2024, 11:28:08 PM
These people are probably aware that there is high risk of losing from trading. They don't have the courage to trade knowing they failed to acquire the necessary knowledge and experience that trading needs.

Trading is a profitable activity and a lot of successful traders have been living their success already. For those who don't trade, aside from lack of knowledge and experience, it might be that they are still not ready to lose so they try to avoid trading as much as possible.

But do we know there's a high risk of getting our wallets or exchanges compromised when going for free airdrop. Like clicking links that are phishing, not knowing these, could drop some dangerous malware in our system that's ready to attack us when ever we login into our wallet. I think this should be noted too

Crypto is just a jungle that has a lot of risk regardless
I tend to agree with the line that I highlighted above.
It's full of risk everywhere in crypto, so it has a great advantage for those people who are knowledgeable enough on this field which we know as a battleground of us.

Don't use a non-reputable exchange in the first place if you join airdrop because IMO, airdrop now isn't worth it and most of them are the root of scams.  Trading isn't always a way of making a profit, sometimes there's frequently loss just to learn in trading.
So they might be afraid because they aren't yet ready for trading.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Recommendation for a good alt to invest in on: February 12, 2024, 11:18:29 PM
At this point, I am looking at projects like Starknet, Polyhedra, Blast, Taiko, Eigenlayer, Wormhole, Mode, Drift Protocol, zkSync. Your thoughts? Sorry for the wall of text lol..
All of these aren't bad investments as per see but still, you need to be careful.  I didn't give my full investment on altcoins or new projects, it's very risky and I can't afford it.

TIA is a good project and seems there's a potential to hold for a long term.
Aside from TIA I also have these.
  • Arbitrum
  • Chainlink

Why not give a large allocation on Bitcoin to less worry?
72  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hey! it's $50k today. on: February 12, 2024, 11:03:58 PM
The price isn't stable right now and it increased more than $50k before falling again under this barrier level. Right now and depending from exchanges, the price is around $49,980k. I don't know if there will be a huge correction right now although I think it will occur at some point but I find the tendance of the market is in favour of more price rise.
It's expected that there will be a price correction when the price surges.
But I have a strong feeling that the Bitcoin price will continue to grow like it reaches $55k and then slightly have a correction.

Most replies on the first page were right, long-term holding is the best idea at all.
Remember that halving isn't yet to come and we always anticipate a good result after on it.  Either what's the reason Bitcoin pumping up but IMO, it's a sign that there will be a new ATH will come, it's almost there.

Let's see what will happen next.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do cryptocurrency increase the standard of living on: February 12, 2024, 10:47:01 PM
Knowing fully well that there is so many uneducated people around the world, how can cryptocurrency increase the standard of living
Not actually do a standard of living but it gives an opportunity that leads that way.
IMO, crypto would help this way because of the nature of decentralized.  The transparency and security features of blockchain technology can help to reduce corruption and ensure a more equitable distribution of resources (I'm talking about the corrupt government that makes people poorer and poorer).  This can contribute to the overall development of communities and societies, lifting people out of poverty.  I think this way would help aside from having profit on it while holding.

We can't rely our living solely on cryptocurrency but they're the ones who lift us from financial problems.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a wallet that stores more than one crytpo on your desktop? on: February 11, 2024, 11:59:40 PM
Is there a wallet that stores more than one crytpo on your desktop?

Sometimes I use the EXODUS web3 wallet without any problem. Trust wallet can also be used but you need to use their extension to use it in your desktop. But for Exodus, I think they have a Windows and linux version of their wallet that a user can use to store their coins and it supports most of the major crypto in the market like BTC, ETH, SOL, MATIC, BNB and many more. There are few other wallet service provider as well but these are the most convenient ones that I have seen till now.
IMO, Exodus, and Electrum for desktop wallet are enough.
Exodus for altcoins and I always separate Bitcoin on Electrum, I feel safe and convenient to use if I separate them because different cryptocurrencies have distinct addresses, formats, and transaction types, and keeping them in separate wallets reduces the likelihood of making mistakes, such as sending Bitcoin to an altcoin address or vice versa.
75  Economy / Exchanges / Re: cannot convert my ltc to usdt on: February 11, 2024, 11:48:42 PM
I think there's nothing you can do with your $2 on that exchange, that's a pretty small amount, and all your balance might eaten by the fees which commonly all exchanges have this limit of withdrawing amount or even transactions.

I didn't use Mexc exchange but if you have this option much better.
Just leave it there and wait until you can reach the limit.  For now, there's nothing you can do just leave it there.
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are these P2P crypto platforms SCAM? on: February 11, 2024, 11:34:44 PM

- Paxful
- Bybit
- OKX
- Phemex
- Bitget
Among the list, I only tried P2P trading is only Bybit, it's really legit and also easy to trade there, the User Interface and user experience of Bybit are really smooth, user and newbie friendly.
Other from the list , I didn't tried because I also consider famous or popular exchanges or platform in my country.
Is this Bybit exchange the same as Binance in that you must pass KYC before doing such p2p trading?

Among all those on the list, I heard a lot of negative reviews on Paxful ever since, I think it depends on the P2P platform that you can trust.
Because there is a p2p that you can truly trust, the risk of having a transaction on p2p is quite risky.  Because it should be a P2P exchange that provides easy access to transaction records and history, it's generally more trustworthy.
77  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who knows ? on: February 11, 2024, 10:59:49 PM
Any information is appreciated !
Really?  Stop fooling yourself as many here advised.

Even though you are attempting to brute force a wallet would require a huge amount of computational power.
So the chances of knowing the password of it is very thin.  So stop wasting your precious time.

BTW, you can read this thread, @achow101 explained it very well.
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Struggle now to invest in Bitcoin for a bright future. on: February 07, 2024, 11:47:04 PM
(....)
So we can go ahead with our bitcoin investment. If we struggle now, we may build a bright future. Even students could save some money from their daily spending and invest in Bitcoin.
Make sense but we must be cautious because no one knows what will happen to Bitcoin in the future, investing always comes with a risk.
I think in all investments comes with risk.
I tend to agree with this, any aspect of investment has always a risk not only in crypto.
It's always unpredictable in the future and no one knows what will happen.

You should have expertise in the chosen investment, so prudence is key, it's crucial to be cautious and avoid overextending, especially when dealing with uncertain assets like Bitcoin.  The best thing to do is to have diversification and a backup plan is an ideal strategy to deal with the unpredictable nature of financial markets, just like in trading, there should be a stop-loss.

OP was right, don't stay in your comfort zone today to have a better future.
Make a passive income and invest what you can afford.
79  Economy / Services / Re: Hello Im new here and i can help you with privacy matters on: February 07, 2024, 11:32:00 PM
It's a huge risk to those who want to avail this service.
First, how do we trust OP since we don't know him yet?  What's our assurance that OP will not take away our money?

When it comes to privacy matters, there should be no third party involved.

So now, to establish trust, could you please share more details about your experience or provide references from previous clients you've assisted with similar privacy matters?  People here want to know your credibility in entrusting their money.

LAN Turtle, which is called USB to LAN adopter here.
I didn't know it could be used in hacking, I often use this on my laptop connecting directly to my wifi modem.

Upon buying those products as mentioned above, they should be on the official store or merchant that can be trusted.
And if you have crypto, it should be stored on a device that you don't often use, not on the laptop for work.
