22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Be aware of a possible new exchange SCAM - I need your opinion on: July 05, 2020, 08:34:34 PM
I am sorry, but everything points to scam... but it is not crypto that is faulty... it is your assessment (sorry to be blunt but this is what I think)...
So, you've trusted someone without investigating anything about the project or the exchange (no webpages, social media accounts, etc), someone that you know only online and for a month, you invested your whole balance into one unknown coin on an unknown exchange... you bought just because someone told you to... surprised about this being scam?
This is something that also happens outside crypto, and I bet that it would be a lot harder for you to send USD to a strage website just because a stranger said so
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What did you look out for before investing in an altcoin? on: July 05, 2020, 08:23:08 PM
Okay guys, hope we are all staying safe?

I felt I should get the opinion of some veteran traders here about investing in altcoins. What do you usually look out for before picking tokens for mid-term or long-term investment?

1. team behind the project?
2. type of blockchain?
3. real-world use-cases?
4. partnerships?
5. period of existence?
6. Stability of the token?
7. Just name them, anything you look out for

Well, I think that no check list is bullet proof, as there is always a margin for error and this margin is always larger than you think...
I always look at the team/use cases/ solid documentation /reasoning behind the project structure and strategy/business strategy - roadmap/ already acomplished goals.... but this is always prone to error.
Not to mention scams, but even concerning use-cases, a use case might seem great and then when you add certain details, or the power of the competition it will turn to s*it
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: what about folkdelta? on: July 04, 2020, 10:24:06 AM
forkdelta was the place to go and buy or sell bounty coins, on one hand it became known as a place of shitcoins that are not listed anywhere else, and on the other hand bounties are becoming few and few and the ones that do IEOs don't go to forkdelta, the good ones neither... so not much left...
I think it is the remains of ICO golden age...
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The bounty group is dead on: July 04, 2020, 10:16:43 AM
A project that is on pause or a bounty group that lacks bounties for a certain period are not necessarily dead... bountyhive has their platform working and got one or two bounties a few months ago, and bountycloud is still there, but with no bounties at the moment...
good bounties are becoming scarce since a while now and it is natural that some of these don't get live bounties all the time, a consequence of so many managers a so few bounties
26  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Kingcasino from bounty detective turned scam on: July 03, 2020, 07:57:19 PM
So far bounty detective has done a very good job, at least this is my oppinion... it is unavoidable that among to many projects and so many scam atempts, one or two go through the sieve and are actually successfull in their intention... we cannot forget that scammers are becoming more and more "specialized" and it is our obligation (all of us that are concerned) to keep our eyes open... we cannot expect for a bounty manager to be all powerfull and 100% bullet proof, otherwise they would not be human...
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin truly a safe-haven asset? on: July 03, 2020, 07:51:54 PM
I think there are no 100% safe assets, gold is maybe the most safe but it also has it's risks...
It is really hard to tell if Bitcoin would resist a global recession, it would be the first time that there is an asset with bitcoin characteristics facing a major global recession against all traditional assets, it would depend a lot on adoption, regulations and the true use case of bitcoin (meaning if holders keep it for it's "store of value" characteristics or for use in daily payments, or simply keep holding it for speculatory purposes)
I guess this is one of those questions that only time will be able to answer
28  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some college students in Alabama bet money to see who gets COVID19 first on: July 03, 2020, 07:43:20 PM
It is unbelievable how some minds work and the wide lack of responsability and awareness that affects some of us...
Playing around with stuff like this virus is simply dumb and these guys should be seriously punished as they are also indirectly endangering the lives of other people in all of their households... people always tend to think that the worse will not happen to them... well....
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How reliable is crypto payment? on: July 02, 2020, 08:45:39 PM
Stable coins are often seen as a defence against volatiliy, but volatility has the trend to atenuate in time, as the market expands and the coin get's more distributed, so in time the part of stable coins will not be so important ...
doing/receiving crypto payments in daily life will have so many adavantages against fiat that it will be adopted widely
30  Economy / Economics / Re: Is global adoption of Bitcoin possible post-Covid? on: July 02, 2020, 08:39:00 PM
I think your points are valid and that in the case things go like you've stated, bitcoin can be seen as a solution for several of those problems, nevertheless bitcoin is already a solution for a lot of the world problems and we don't see adoption happening anytime soon...
I agree with the user that said that adoption will come with or without the chaos, it can simply happen with the natural evolution of economy...
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: For airdroppers who can hardly relate on: July 02, 2020, 08:26:38 PM
Great story... and yes, I think that most of us can relate to this in one way or another, the crypto world is full of CRAP unfortunately...
I never go through kyc for bounties or airdrops, personal information is something that should be taken serious, people spread it around too easily...
As for the airdrops, even if they are legit, they usually have no value... but it doesn't hurt to get a free drop every onece in a while...
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is More Popular Than Traditional Banks on: June 29, 2020, 09:19:30 PM
Can't say it was unexpected... I think banks have always been jugling around with people finances and become places of shady businesses... my idea is that general people have a bad oppinion about banks, and as people start to become more aware of bitcoin and it's possibilities, a definitive shift might happen...
although I find it difficult for people to trust their savings to bitcoin, mostly due to the uncertainty of regulations and volatility
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What about WAVES? No one talks about it anymore! on: June 28, 2020, 09:02:43 PM
You are right about this, Waves was supposed to be very promising and suddenly it fell into the backstage of the market... the market cap is still among the highest of alts but it lacks promotion... usually this is a sign of something great being prepared or the beginning of the fall...
I think I still own a small amount of waves, just in case...
34  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Those that hate risks! on: June 28, 2020, 08:54:21 PM
I think that sometimes fear can drive some people more causcious and save them from scams and such, although I do agree that there is the other point of view in wich fear will make you miss opportunity and this is also valid...
the key is to play with what you can afford to loose and learn as much as possible
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum too tied to Vitalik Buterin? on: June 27, 2020, 09:23:36 PM
As someone already said, Ethereum has very solid decentralized roots, so it is not depending solely of Vitalik existance, but I do agree that the market seems to look at Ethereum strenght as being directly linked to Vitalik geniality. On a small market like crypto this kind of thing can have an impact if something happens to him, but it would be temporary
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Enough of repetitive projects and old ideas on: June 27, 2020, 09:18:09 PM
I agree with you, most projects are just doing something that has already been done several times on other projects... sometimes it is scary reading the topic subjects, they go by trends, a few months ago there were exchanges popping out from under every rock, and projects claiming the fastest and most wonderful transaction features... and this is just a few examples...
But we can't also forget that when things are developing, there are always improvements that can be brought by others using something already created by others...
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe in crypto ratings? on: June 26, 2020, 09:11:45 PM
I do not believe this type of rating, it is very hard to see if the rating is done fairly or with any kind of vice. It is also subjective as the projects have very different use cases and scaling possiblities
I think the best thing is still doing your own work and think about the different aspects of those projects and judge for yourself
38  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HOW TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL AT CRYPTO TRADING on: June 26, 2020, 09:04:00 PM
I think some traders were just lucky, but most of them had to study a lot about their possible investments, be pacient, forget greed exists and embrace the math, it seems easy and during a bull run everyone makes money, but I believe that to be consistently getting an income rom trading you need to work a lot ...
39  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: FreeBitcoin Bot - What do you think about this tool?? on: June 26, 2020, 08:55:11 PM
I don't see how a bot can improve your chances of winning, if the website is provably fair, then the game will be based on luck...
I always place my bets manually, auto betting almost drained my account once and after that Im always very carefull
The auto-claim feature is definitely a nice one to try Wink
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is crypto lending really that great? on: June 25, 2020, 10:15:13 AM
I agree that there are a lot of advantages in crypto lending, especially concerning being easier, cheaper and faster, but let's not forget that crypto world is still small and very risky... we have seen huge price fluctuations, projects vanishing, scams, etc... it will not be easy for people to go into debt without feeling safe about the value they are getting...
