41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers are to be blame on: October 23, 2019, 06:40:13 AM
scammers are definitely a large issue for the crypto world, and they have hit so hard in the past that at this point it is difficult to gather trust
But I think this is a natural process that is part of any tech revolution... the ones that are savy taking advantage of the ones that ignore...
I think scammers will tend to decline when more and more people join crypto space and start to learn about stuff... it will get more and more difficult to scam...
binance has managed to hold a very good reputation and it is using it Wink
42  Economy / Economics / Re: First Bitcoin ATM in Venezuela on: October 23, 2019, 06:35:37 AM
very good news for Venezuela and the crypto world...
especially in countries that are economically depressed and/or restricted, having access to cryptocurrencies might help a lot of people in savings, store of value, etc
Let's hope that in a few months they realize the need of many more ATMs in South /central america
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will crypto really go to zero? on: October 20, 2019, 07:41:42 PM
no doubt the next logical step by the system will be to get their own digital currencies and instruct the people to use them through the usual banks... and crypto world is too small to present a valid and solid option.
If this happens, it won't be the end of cryptocurrencies, but a major change in natural evolution... let's not forget that government digital assets will also be cryptos... so this will probably have a definitive reshape of the crypto market, with only 10% of the coins surviving and actually being used...
but I think it will still take 2-5 years until we see something like this
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: To bounty hunters & investors on: October 20, 2019, 07:36:28 PM
As a bounty hunter I can tell you that I've already learnt to do proper research a long time ago, but this has resulted in a years in which I've participated in just a few bounties... ok, they all paid, but most are almost worthless...
nevertheless these are specific periods, we just need to prevail and keep on tuning up our instincts in order to get the best possible bounties to promote!
2020 is around the corner and I feel things will be different
45  Economy / Economics / Re: The 2nd generation of banking is going digital on: October 20, 2019, 07:31:54 PM
the thing is that cryptocurrencies have brought the possibility for each person to become it's own bank, bank services will partly split between crypto finance companies that grant loans and credit cards, etc, and each person own personal management...
huge bank fees, abuses, etc are doomed to end
probably traditional banks will adapt to provide double crypto-fiat services, but in the end, most of their exploitation business is gone
(nowadays you can also send fiat money from one place to the other without banks via multiple service providers)
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Honestly, do you guys think cryptocurrencies will be gone anytime soon? on: October 18, 2019, 10:26:13 AM
look, can you deny that everything in our world is becoming digital?
can you deny that paper money has no value backup other than what governments and people determine?
can you deny that cryptocurrencies mark a point in which finances also become a part of our digital lifes and within our control?
Now, things take time... sometimes generations, especially when you speak about money... we have 10 year history and already thriving
47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever been stolen or lost your BTC? on: October 18, 2019, 10:23:35 AM
no way is a 100% safe, all you can do is to make things as difficult as possible for the thieve...
leaving currency on an exchange is trusting a third party with your funds and exposing yourself to attackes as exchanges are a central point for thieves to get huge amounts
having your own private keys and not keeping them online is the first step in protecting your currenccy
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Camouflage bounty manager? on: October 18, 2019, 10:21:37 AM
Scammers are creative and exist everywhere, so it will be natural that there are groups that join into more elaborate scams...
But there are also times in which the bounty manager also gets scammed along with everyone else
There are trusted bounty managers that work in bitcointalk for a long time and have good feedback from hunters... with so many scams lately, I only look for bounties from these guys
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Sure Are You That You Invested In A Right New Coin? on: October 17, 2019, 02:08:39 PM
I don't do it often... in fact it is rare... but when I bet on a new coin, besides the proper research, I know that there is nothing sure about it...
at least while the crypto world remains in such cahos it will be very hard to be sure of any new projects
but I never loose hope
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Earning crypto on games - are you serious? on: October 17, 2019, 02:05:54 PM
casino games are at most games of chance (when they are not scammed), so you can win, but also loose.
I'm not into it, but I've recently made an experience using Bethash as I receive some of their tokens from bounty... gained some, lost some, and in the end lost almost everything  Grin
it gambling was profitable, than casino owners would be poor
poker games are a different thing, for example
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Day Trading or Long-term Hodl? on: October 17, 2019, 02:03:25 PM
I think this really depends on the type of person and your circunstances, available time, pacience, etc
I am also not that type and funny thing is that a friend of mine also openend my eyes about how you can mutiply the number of coins you hold doing some day trading...
but I tend to always go against the flow and just accepted that I am a natural holder... not a trader...
you always need a bit of both, but one is stronger in each person

53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The difference between Bitcoin and Facebook's Libra on: October 15, 2019, 06:41:58 AM
well, Libra is a stable coin with a centralized nature, that is backed by US government... BTC is none of these...
I think Libra may be the first attempt of the US to build their own "crypto"... US are owned by large companies like facebook and it would make sense to try to take the market using the millions of facebook users...
fortunately, it seems that the remaining actors on the game are aware and didn't follow them into the rabbit hole
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Store of Value or Method of Payment on: October 15, 2019, 06:37:13 AM
I think it is clear by the actions of the BTC team and the development of things on the crypto world that BTC use case is to become a store of value, this is why the blocks don't have to become larger, and the cost and speed of the transactions don't need to be great... everyone is holding it and doesn't want to spend it - store of value
Everyone claims that stores should accept it, etc, but in reality there are other coins that are more fit for day-to-day use like for example BCH, with cheap and fast transactions... even if it was accepted everywhere I doubt people would use it much for regular payments
55  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Over? on: October 15, 2019, 06:32:49 AM
I think that what makes BTC different from every other currency is the fact that it is decentralised and thus escapes the control of the system. At this point the network is still small and even so, it is already impossible to shutdown...
Up until now, currencies were always controled by a group and USD or EURO are not different... BTC is still controlled by whales as they hold a good part of the available BTC, but with the constant network growth and another incoming bull run, it will get more distributed and thus, more uncontrollable
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Libra partner drop out on: October 14, 2019, 07:18:58 AM
didn't know that all those partners have already turned their back to the "great facebook"... only heard about paypal...
anyway, this is great news for true crypto, as the project might go ahead, and Facebook has so much money that they might even cover the lack of funding due to partners fleeing, but without their support, the project will become marginal...
let's hope so, because facebook can use their huge user base to produce a volume that would obliterate the whole crypto market
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The End of Bear Market, Confirmed!! on: October 14, 2019, 07:14:55 AM
The market has changed since BTC has started to climb to 10k level, things were looking good, bears going away, bulls entering the scene... but than for some reason it lost power and there was no further the bears keep on rulling...
I am afraid that the true bull run might only come after the halving... still have fingers crossed for the end of this year, but loosing hope as we speak
58  Other / Meta / Re: Funny since the Cryptotalk campaign came. on: October 14, 2019, 07:04:56 AM
I do not believe that 1 single campaign is causing the disband of bounty hunters and also lack of new campaigns... on one side, new projects are already diminishing since some time ago, especially if we are looking for good ones, this has probably more to do with the market conditions than with another campaign...
on the other side, bounty hunters numbers usually follow the market, as when the market is bad and has few good campaigns, the scam level rises and the rewards dissapear... so it is natural that there are less hunters now
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to earn free altcoin ?? on: October 12, 2019, 08:14:14 AM
you can do bounties, airdrops, faucets, etc... but lately these are not giving much and are really full of scams
you can also create, learn, discuss, and then contribute for a specific project, on moderation, translation, article writing, video, image, coding, etc
the marvel of crypto is that this space is open to anyone that prooves it's worth.
good luck  Grin
60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins better or stable during bitcoin lot of movement on: October 12, 2019, 08:10:59 AM
nowadays I think things got different since before 2017... after such a long and hard bear season, people started pouring money only on BTC, it has become a financial investment only and the less risky is BTC...
this has produced a very strong BTC dominance in the market, proving it to be the closest to a "store of value"...
also, the alt market was crazy and needed to get a lot of projects out of scene...
but the alts will return, the ones that survive  Wink
