I forgot who says that with the way the league is built right now with super teams, it will take at least 3 great players to win.
I don't know if you're referring to Dirk but I remember him saying those lines in an interview during a playoff series against OKC. At that time, the young trio of KD, Westbrook, and Harden were returning the favor to the defending champ by sweeping them too. It was also the time when Harden stepped up (from the bench) terrorizing the Dallas defense and made a name for himself.
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much BNB is needed? on: July 25, 2022, 11:22:57 AM
$1 worth of BNB should be more than enough for both smart contract approval of BRISE and the swap confirmation. I can't be precise because I don't have that token. Transaction fees (gas limit to be more specific) is different per token. It depends on how it's been coded.

You'll get exact figure if you go to DEX like Pancakeswap > choose BRISE/BUSD pairing > click 'Enable'. Metamask will pop up after that asking for permission and show you the gas price. Next to that is the actual swapping.

163  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Educational: Breaking misconceptions about market crashs on: July 25, 2022, 07:05:58 AM
It's not as simple as altcoin related.

If I'm going to guess, it's more like this:
Luna Foundation Guard (LFG) sold a significant amount of bitcoins (80K) after the 'attack' to save the dying UST, more bears took advantage of the situation to push the price down further, and then the majority of retail traders sold out of panic.

If you're going to say the market crashed because of what LFG did, you might as well say they also helped pumped the price when they bought BTC for their reserve.

You know, someone should make a timeline on how exactly Luna UST collapsed (even I am not quite sure what happened, as I have never heard of this token), and then post it somewhere here. So that the wild rumor-mill stops churning and everyone learns a lesson from this.

It happened in May and you can already see a number of post-mortem analysis on the LUNA and UST crash online. This is probably the most detailed with all the dates and links - The Fall of Terra: A Timeline of the Meteoric Rise and Crash of UST and LUNA.

For the said 'attack', there are still speculations on how it exactly happened.

For the disposal of BTC80K, you can also find it on LFG's series of tweets

~
But it is not enough to crash Bitcoin almost about 10k down.
The sale of BTC80K alone may not have been enough to crash the market but why don't you think of the whale bears that also sold a lot which helped broke vital support?

It was a crash caused by fear and irrational decisions (panic sell).
Yes but it most likely happened after the two conditions I said above.

~ and more Altcoin bad news arrived.
Are you talking about Celsius? It's a lending platform that also holds a massive amount of BTC (over 150K) as of April 2022. What happened to them is not really an altcoin news, they just happen to have their own token.

This idea that shitcoins are responsible for Bitcoin crashes is doing more harm than good. It just ruins the credibility of Bitcoin as a currency and a reserve asset.
Did you even try to read or understand my post?
I said in my post it is essential to know Bitcoin is NOT related to Shitcoins.
Because Bitcoin is COMPLETELY different from Shitcoins.
Bitcoin is NOT tied to Shitcoins and people need to understand.
People need to understand it and don't sell when a random Altcoin has issues.
But some ppl even have no basic understanding about Coins and don't know basic rules. Bitcoin is on a different, own Blockchain!!!
An Altcoin has no link to Bitcoin's tech.
Bitcoin and Altcoins are totally independent, still people are getting FUD and sell Bitcoin causing a crash because such people HAVE NOT DONE RESEARCH.
People need to start doing research.
Remember that you also said this:

~ Recently, Altcoin pressure has resulted in Bitcoin losing value.

Nobody is contesting that we should look at bitcoin and altcoin separately but anyone, probably other than you, would also take that statement the same as @hatshepsut93 that altcoin was the reason for BTC crash. Also, no one is against your statement that the market crashed because of fear/misconceptions and that it's irrational but the argument is you connecting it to altcoins.
165  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Educational: Breaking misconceptions about market crashs on: July 24, 2022, 12:37:38 PM
Most crashes are not rational and instead, driven by misconceptions and fear.
We need to break such misconceptions to build a stronger and more resistant market.

Recently, Altcoin pressure has resulted in Bitcoin losing value. A huge crash occured, where Bitcoin lost 10k USD.
It was clearly not a rational decision.
Selling people lost much money.
And here's what's important:

It was because a Shitcoin collapsed (Terra Luna).
And one more Shitcoin, too (Celsius)
NOT because Bitcoin had issues!

It was only Altcoin related but Bitcoin declined in price, too.
Completely unreasonable because Bitcoin had NO issues.
It was only Altcoin related.

166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Casino tokens such as BFG, OWL or TFS on: July 24, 2022, 12:02:41 AM

These coins might be popular but I still prefer well-established altcoins over them.

What is your definition for a well established altcoin? Working product that gaining profit right? What exactly is difference between this gambling tokens that has already a utility on there working product casino to other established altcoins?
It's quite simple. Well established altcoins are usually measured by their marketcap/popularity and their longevity. It can be compared to a product that has established its own brand over the years and survived multiple challenges. Compared to most top 10 coins/tokens, these casino tokens are still too small in terms of trade volume or just too young in terms of longevity.

BFG - launched 2020
OWL - launched 2021
However, these tokens have a specific purpose.  They are used in specific casinos.  And very many altcoins, by and large, it is not at all clear why they are needed?  Well, of course, if you do not take into account the obvious desire of the devs who organized them to get rich at the first possible pump.  Turning them into bitcoin ethereum.  Yes, how many of these coins have we all already observed and how they turn into a scam together.

Compared to BFG, such altcoins are generally simply useless and can only be played in the development of new wallets and exchanges.  Nobody needs them anymore.
I was talking about top 10/more established alts and not some shit tokens. Name me one of top tokens/coins that you you think has no clear utility. When talking about money grabs, these casinos do not really need to build their own token to operate. They can just use other more established coins for rewarding gamblers or for their staking features.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoins is a good way to keep and save money or not? on: July 23, 2022, 11:13:52 PM
Much have been said but the issue on centralization have not been pointed out yet. Apart from DAI, you also risk your money because the issuers (companies) of these stable coins can freeze them at any point even if it's in your non-custodial wallet. That's a pretty scary thought especially if you're trying to keep them for a very long time. So yeah, you have to put a complete trust on these companies that they do not do something that will destroy holders.

Someone already touched up on staking stable coins. If you have no problem with the issues we've mentioned, you might as well stake them. Platforms like mycointainer.com offers 10% annual return for USDT, USDC, and DAI.

168  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: July 22, 2022, 05:32:26 AM
169  Economy / Economics / Re: Sri Lanka Economic Crisis is Getting Worse on: July 22, 2022, 04:37:09 AM
I wonder why a lot of people are pinning this debt trap to China only when their lending only amounts to 10% of Sri Lanka's Foreign debt? Other sources claim that the figure is up to 26% if you add the amounts owed to Chinese banks. Regardless, this 'China debt trap' sounds more like a propaganda to hide the economic mismanagement of Sri Lankan leaders and paint China as evil (again).

Yeah right, propaganda...
That is the overall debt in the loans Sri Lanka has taken from various entities.

The debt trap refers to things like  projects that were constructed by Chinese companies that Sri Lanka never afforded at all, like the whole fiasco where after allowing the Chinese to extend the port of Hambantota for billions while the port was seeing only a few vessels per month, so in order to pay for the debt risen though the construction they had to lease it for free for 99 years to China, in Colombo they had to give them 40-year tax relief for another billion.
The international airport in Mattala, $190 million from a Chinese bank, the airport is no longer having any international routes aside from Abu Dabhi.

You will not see those billion in the graphic since it's not a state-issue bond or debt.

If I scam you with a scheme and you're forced to come up with 10 000 euros which you borrow from the bank, who is to blame for your debt, the bank which holds your debt or me, the one that caused your loss in the first place?
If you knew they can't afford it from the start, Sri Lanka's leaders most likely knew that as well. Why did they agree in the first place? Were they forced to accept the offer of Exim Bank of China to fund the construction of the port or the other projects you mentioned? That's what I do not get because it's they who gambled on these commercial loans and thought it will bring in more money to their economy. The loan terms and conditions were not hidden from them.

About the 99-year lease, they got $1.12 billion from China Merchants Port Holdings Company Limited (CM Port) for 70% share of the port. From what I read, they didn't even use all that money to pay off debts owed to Exim bank.

I got more curious about the debt trap and decided to check their external debts per lender.

What do you mean? I checked cryptonator.com and it seems like they are still offering an anonymous service.

174  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Freebitcoin Incorrect login details on: July 20, 2022, 02:06:40 AM
~ Could it be by entering through the same internet line?
I guess that's the main reason. They are pretty tough when it comes to cases like that. I remember they had some promotions that I couldn't join because of IP address issue.

The only thing I know is that we have invested in the accounts, in buying fun token. Now no one from my family accesses.
Asking for a refund of tokens from all accounts is probably your only option here.

Freebitco is a faucet and a gambling site, why using it for investing? That is wrong.
In addition to the interest on BTC that @BitMaxz said, buying FUN tokens and locking it on Freebitco.in gives you free spins daily.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ADA to be next MATIC on: July 19, 2022, 07:01:58 AM
~ Do you guys think ADA can also do that in the coming days?
What are we talking about here? Is it just the price or the number of projects built on each blockchain? Both are currently moving upwards.

Anyway, when talking about long-term, answers to both questions are still related to each other. Last time I checked, Cardano is not short of teams wanting to launch their own platforms there. Cardano developers are also not slacking of with the recent successful launch of Vasil upgrade on testnet. The upgrade is supposed to improve the network's scalaility.

Having said that, I think it's only a matter of time before ADA explodes like Matic or Sol. If you decide, you just have to be more patient with this coin. While waiting for the next major pump, you can also try to stake it in your cold wallet or in platforms like mycointainer.com

176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized vs Centralized Payment Projects on: July 19, 2022, 03:19:44 AM
Hi

I have observed that the crypto scene is becoming more and more centralized.

I am looking for a crypto payment system for my Shopify store and have come across Coinbase, Binance, and Bitpay, but they work a lot with databases and tend to impose their apps.
Almost any app that involves conversion of crypto to fiat is centralized. It's just how it is.

I found a Crypto Pay System called Blueberry Pay which looks very promising.
I don't see this as as accepted payment method on shopify though.

Does anyone know of another payment system where the degree of decentralization is high?
The following seems more decentralized than the three payment options you mentioned:

You can also check out Crypto.com

177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New to staking - is this worth it? on: July 19, 2022, 01:12:13 AM
~
I have 36,500 VRA now (see post 15)
Even better. That shortens the time for earning the fees for withdrawal.

I havent really thought about VRA to be honest the last week or so on one hand I feel holding will be enough if it does do well next bull run but on the other If I am holding I might aswell stake to get more, I am just not sure about holding on their wallet and if it is worth doing so with the fees involved.
Just do a simple math:
10K earns you 5 a day.
36.5K earns you 17 or so a day.
89 days to earn ~1500 VRA.

It all boils down to how long you intend to hold. We are probably one or two years away from the next bullrun and, by that time, you'll earn more than enough to cover the fees (that's if you start staking those 36,500 VRAs now). Still, it's really up to you.
178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 18, 2022, 01:16:00 PM
They are not making it easy for Aspinall. Although he seem to be a champ material, he has not faced someone as agressive as Blaydes.
They're helping him move up the ranks. He'll have to face more of these guys (the gatekeepers) sooner or later.

I can already see him getting elbowed heavily.
On the ground? If so, I'm not sure who takes down who here. He has a background in boxing and pretty well-rounded on his striking but his TD defense looks decent. He also has takedowns on his own.

If he could just simulate what Derrick did if Blaydes attempt the take down, it be a big win. He gets a title shot if he wins this right?
I think it's too soon. Maybe one more fight against another top 5.

Related to the previous event, nice to see some fighters cashing out as well.

179  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A little profit for $17k+ buyers on: July 18, 2022, 08:08:47 AM
The topic is probably better discussed by day traders. It's only them who would say price is high at this time or late to buy because they buy/sell on certain timeframes. As for me, it's still a long way to go before we start talking about fake bull. I think what you're seeing right now is just a part of the market moving sideways until the next bullrun. It's not too late to buy at these prices.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New to staking - is this worth it? on: July 17, 2022, 12:53:44 PM
~
Yes exactly that, i have not staked yet however as I am just holding for now as do not feel the amount I hold is worth staking for now after the fees you have to pay.
It's been a while since I last checked my account. I noticed they already give you the amount of earned VRA per day based on your holdings.

24,500 gives you around 12 VRA/day (360 per month) which means it will take you four months+ to reach the withdrawal fee required.

^ Figures doesn't look good for short term holding and you should probably decide if you want to add up or just switch to other coins/tokens. If you like VRA and plan on holding for more than four months, you might as well stake it now and add top up later.
