241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: June 25, 2022, 09:41:11 AM
Magsayo by KO/TKO or Vargas by Unanimous/Split decision

^ That's the most likely result of the fight that I can see. Magsayo would likely invest in the body early on (like chopping a tree) before going for the chin. Vargas to try to keep his distance and outbox him (possible KO win too if he catches Mark with a clean counter).

Another factor to consider in this fight is Magsayo's faster recovery time because of his youth. He might get hit and hit by Vargas but he could absorb/endure more.

I might go with Magsayo to win by a unanimous or split decision, I mean he does have some chance to end the fight against Vargas by KO/TKO but not as good with the chance of UD or SD. The latter is also an experienced fighter so we have to consider that he will also try and produce good scores every round against the title holder and current champion.
Go for it. Odds for Magsayo by UD/Split would probably be higher than a KO/TKO. You have a good point and I consider Vargas as a more technically skilled boxer. I just don't see him losing on the judges scorecard. It looks like he's mastered the art of winning by points in the later stage of his career. His longer reach will be problematic for Magsayo.
242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 24, 2022, 08:14:39 AM
Any team on your radar that might take John Wall? He recently exercised his $47.4 million player option for next season. Rockets are reportedly looking for a trade or a buyout agreement if no trade happens. Another Wall - Westbrook swap is the only possible option that I'm reading because their salaries are almost identical.
243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA draft on: June 24, 2022, 06:59:44 AM
~ Well, that's it and I think the Rockets are now filled with freshmen with trades of that 1st round ending up to them. When we talk about the greatest overhaul of a team, this could be it.
Two sophomores Jalen Green and Sengun combined with a freshman Jabari Smith. Let's see what they can do when the game starts.
A team mostly in their (early) 20's is going to be exciting to watch. I think they will wreak havoc in the western conference and they won't be fearful of anyone Grin We'll probably see a lot high flying action from them (good for game highlights). With Wall and Schroder on the trading block/free agency, Eric Gordon (if not traded) might assume the PG role. He'll probably have fun passing lobs to these young guys.

What do you think about those funny taps that Jiri made several times? I have counted 3 of them. If a fight judges wasnt experienced much, he would have stopped the fight and call Teixeira a winner.
I'll have to watch it again, I don't recall seeing them.
Many fans saw this as well and were also asking why the ref didn't stop the fight. It was later explained that Jiri was actually congratulating and encouraging Glover with those taps. Goddard (ref) even warned him that it's a risky game. The ref saw that he wasn't in a real danger to be submitted.

About his title defense, Jiri already stated his first priority is a Glover rematch and, if he retains the title, he'll go after Jan.
246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA draft on: June 24, 2022, 03:04:47 AM
The first three teams to pick went for bigs but not at the order most people expected. Magic went for Banchero instead of Smith. Jabari was stolen by the Rockets. I don't know why why the Thunders passed up on him but a 7'0" Chet Holmgren with a decent J isn't that bad.

I think Heat also got a good one with Nikola Jovic.

Sotto's odds have improved from 500 to 251, but of course, he has no chance to be the first pick.
Slim chance even in round 2. Maybe next year's draft.
247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Government Owned Online Casinos What Do You Think Of Its Potential on: June 23, 2022, 02:59:56 PM
~ Will they get enough support, will they get a huge slice of the market that is ruled by companies, they have the funds and they have the reputation because they are government who are more established and will be more compliant
Problems that could arise:
  • High level competition
  • Delay in payments to private investors could be cause of litigations
  • Possibly dealing with gambling addiction
  • Operational costs
^ Compare all of that effort to just collecting taxes monthly or yearly.

Besides, gamblers probably do not care if they are playing at a Government owned casino or at a privately owned but regulated casinos.

248  Economy / Economics / Re: India's tax policies on income from digital asset on: June 23, 2022, 02:40:01 PM
Bump for an update:

There are ongoing reports that some ministers in India are planning to add another tax on cryptocurrency transactions. It's called Goods and Services Tax (GST) and they might follow the 28% which is the highest rate.

If they decide on adding that, Indian crypto investors/traders will pay three different taxes:
  • 30% Capital Gains Tax
  • 1% Tax Deducted at Source
  • 28% Goods and Services Tax

~

I think this will favor the Clippers because Durant is not really that healthy and if he gets injured, Nets will still struggle.
I'm not so sure about that. As I'm trying to point out earlier, the Clippers have already formed a decent team with those three players and they are only missing the return of their two stars. Kahwi will most likely return next season in better shape because he's taken his time to recover. He'll probably prefer to play under a team with established chemistry. I remember he said something about chemistry as one reason when they lost in his first season as a Clipper.
250  Economy / Gambling / Re: KYC casino or no-KYC casino, but with no bonuses/no cashback? on: June 23, 2022, 11:41:51 AM
Reminds me of the CEX ads I often see on social media. They offer some money (spare change) if you sign up with them and complete KYC verification Grin

Now to the questions, I'm having a hard time because I know there are many casinos that are still offering those incentives and features without forcing KYC upon their users. You just need to reach a certain rank, a number of wager, or other requirements and that's about it. Anyway, I'll probably stick to non-KYC casino if those are the only options gamblers have.
251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 23, 2022, 11:15:21 AM
~ The Brooklyn Nets will trade Kyrie Irving to the LA Clippers for Robert Covington, Norman Powell, and Ivica Zubac I think this trade is the most out-of-pocket for a team to be doing we all know how good Kyrie Irving is, and to trade him for three players I think the Brooklyn Nets is just making money out of him,
This move tells us that Clippers doesn't want a repeat of their last two season when their two key players (Kahwi & PG) struggled to stay healthy throughout the regular season and playoffs. The problem here is they are still going to struggle with the new team chemistry and their rotation. I think Covington, Powell, and Zubac have become an integral part of their system already and it will be tough to replace them. As of now, it's looking like a win for the Nets.

253  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Incoming BSP Governor's take on cryptocurrencies on: June 22, 2022, 05:58:25 AM
~ Ang saya ko pa naman few weeks ago when Diokno was picked by BBM to be become his finance secretary. And then later, Diokno said no to possible increase of taxes.
Tignan natin.

~ Maybe Medalla's stance is influenced sa letter ng Infrawatch to BSP?

Meron ba nagbabayad ng bills o purchases gamit BTC directly? Ako kasi convert to fiat muna tapos fiat pambayad.
Nabanggit ko yun dahil in terms of data monitoring ng BTC usage, siguro ay mas madali yun kesa yung ikaw muna convert crypto to Peso.

~
Given na siguro na the incoming governor will not be too keen about DECENTRALIZED currencies dahil siya iyong namumuno sa CENTRAL BANK.
Even the outgoing Gov. Diokno said na crypto could pose a danger to the financial system.
254  Local / Pilipinas / Incoming BSP Governor's take on cryptocurrencies on: June 20, 2022, 06:26:23 AM

1. Based on greater fool theory
Quote
Every Bitcoin buyer that I know does not use (cryptocurrency) for anything… The only reason you’re using this is you think somebody else will buy it from you at a higher price. That’s a very scary investment,

2. Tool to hide assets
Quote
This is a new tool that adds to the ability to do that. There are plenty of people who want to hide their money from the government,

255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: June 19, 2022, 06:48:32 AM
~ Really underrated card in my opinion. There's some absolute wars in those match ups, could we get some absolutely memorable, from top to bottom event back to back? Because last weeks was brilliant from a entertainment perspective.
~ And all of these fights so far have been great!  This is a way better event than 275.
9 finishes out of 13 fights.

Tied for most KO's in a UFC event.

Gross revenue at $1.9 Billion which is said to be the highest in US Fight Night history.

Happy retirement to Zabit Magomedsharipov. He's definitely one of the mot entertaining Russian MMA fighters and could have been a UFC champ at Featherweight if not for the injuries.

I saw this pic from a Facebook page and the funny quote from the comments:

For if another man is to attempt to take food off your plate or your wife from your bed there is no greater punishment that can be bestowed upon him than ignoring his taps while in the backpack kneebar

256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is crypto winter setting in.. and how long will it last on: June 18, 2022, 10:07:28 AM
How long will this market correction will continue and where will this stop.. and where will Bitcoin stabalize
Maybe it will continue until the first half of 2023 (could be shorter). BTC could go as low as $18K to $15K during that span.
$20K has been breached which is sooner than I expected. It probably the result of the thousands of BTC moved to exchanges I read the other day. Anyway, it's still a long way to go and some people are now predicting BTC under $10K. In any case, keep those fiats ready Grin At this point, anything at $10K - 15K range is a great buy (maybe the biggest discount we'll ever get).
257  Economy / Gambling / Re: hello Players!! on: June 18, 2022, 08:26:54 AM
I've noticed quickly those "change password", "changed email" and "transactions" and as well as the "logout".
First thing I noticed is the misspelled word 'TRANSATIONS'. It's missing that letter 'C'
258  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Ang nakaambang pag ban ng Binance sa pinas on: June 16, 2022, 04:30:08 AM
OA naman yung reject lahat ng applications kung sakaling paboran yung sinasabi nilang operating in the country without a license. Bawas threat o competition ba.
259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is crypto winter setting in.. and how long will it last on: June 15, 2022, 02:51:07 AM
What's the connection of Bill Gate's statement to the topic crypto winter?

How long will this market correction will continue and where will this stop.. and where will Bitcoin stabalize
Maybe it will continue until the first half of 2023 (could be shorter). BTC could go as low as $18K to $15K during that span. I don't know where the price is going to stabilize though. It will be nice if BTC could bounce above $25K and stay around that level for months but I'm not that optimistic. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Right now, the bears seems exhausted pushing the price further.
260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: June 14, 2022, 03:07:15 AM
~
I don't think Teixeira will get a rematch. It is true that the fight was even and it is even very likely that if not submission Glover would have won via the referees decision, but there are too many contenders for the title. I think that the fight between Prohazka and former light heavyweight champion Blachowicz will be more profitable for the UFC.
Apart from Jan, Magomed Ankalaev has thrown himself into the title match discussion by taking a shot at Jiri. It's not that they don't deserve it but these Dagestan fighters have been talkative lately Grin The talking seems to work with Islam Makhachev as he is rumored to face Charles for the Lightweight belt.

Maybe not as interesting for PPV but Jan vs. Magomed for the number one contender looks interesting too.

Teixeira vs Prochazka was one of the best fights I watched this year, and maybe one of the greatest fights ever in UFC.
It's definitely up there.

~ I am sure we are going to witness rematch of this fighters soon.
Hard to say because of so many fighters going after him. Glover, at 42, might need a lot of time to recover from that grueling match unlike a younger Jiri. It's up to Dana.
