201  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Old blockchain.info wallet from 2014 and before -16,17,19 words precovery phrase on: March 02, 2024, 04:04:45 PM
And one more thing: if you have 17 words, then you have information about the wallet ID and you know the login password.  This data is enough to enter the wallet after confirmation using the link in the incoming letter from Blockchain.com.
His problem is, he does not even remember or have access to the email address he used for signing up to the wallet service.
I have 100% of the security info, it seems crazy that the one thing that is preventing access is an email address. I must have used an address that I have forgotten about and has probably been deactivated now.

I have just tried to rest the password of my old blockchain wallet and guess what? No reset link is even sent to my email address. This wallet service is a huge joke, and it just leaves its users stranded  Sad
202  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Lost email address for Blockchain on: March 01, 2024, 01:03:13 PM
Yes, i type my Mneomic code into that and it brings up the password I used when setting up the wallet (which I already had)

But I still need the associated email address to get in.
My bad, OP it looks like you are in a similar situation like some other members who posted in this thread, particularly this user

He tried to make an experimentation by contacting the support to see if he could manage to recover his account without the email address, but it seems he did not success or is still in the process as there is a back and forth communication with the support but no clear solution. Maybe you can also take your chances by contacting support. I recommend you first read through that thread, though.
203  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Lost email address for Blockchain on: March 01, 2024, 12:38:18 PM
Yes, I was referring to blockchain.com

Will the above still work?

I opened the wallet in 2014 and have a 17 word mnemonic phrase.
No, unfortunately I don't think that will work as it was not a standardized seed

Have you tried recovering your wallet using this option? - https://login.blockchain.com/wallet/forgot-password?guid=
204  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: local bitcoin alternative on: March 01, 2024, 11:47:59 AM
Is it custodial or noncustodial?
Response: It's a noncustodial platform, fully decentralized.
Since it's noncustodial, does that mean no KYC. You did talk about that bit. Remember, this is a fiat to crypto service. So you are bound to clash with Regulators and Law Enforcement at one point in time. What is your plan to avoid such a scenario.

This is why the term of service are so important. So that the user knows what they are getting into.

How does the escrow work?
Response: We don't have an escrow service. I prefer not to handle transaction responsibilities due to the workload. The platform operates on a voluntary basis.
So how will disputes get handled if there is no escrow plan? Not all people who trade p2p are genuine, some of them are scammers.

What are the fees?
Response: The platform is 100% free as a service to the community.
Where will you get money to foot the cost of running the service?
205  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Lost email address for Blockchain on: March 01, 2024, 11:25:47 AM
Use a much better wallet like Electrum and avoid Blockchain wallet. The issues with synching and showing wrong wallet balances confuses newbies, and they end up losing Bitcoins

Since you already have the seed phrase or mnemonic phrase;

1. Download Electrum from the Official site (https://electrum.org) and verify the GPG signatures depending on your Operating System before installing it, just to be sure you installed the right wallet.

2. Once you have installed it, Open Electrum, Select New and then enter your desired account name and click next to create.

3. Select Standard wallet and among the options select "I already have a seed"

4. Enter your seed or mnemonic and under the seed options button check BIP39 and click on next.

5.  I believe your script type on blockchain wallet was legacy as the default, so you select Legacy (p2pkh) and the derivation Path stays as m/44'/0'/0'

6. Enter your desired wallet password, click next to create the wallet. You should be able to see your bitcoins and spend them. If are not able to see your bitcoins, check the addresses in the wallet to see if one of them was your default address in the blockchain wallet you used in the past

Please keep us updated if you are successful or not
206  Economy / Exchanges / Re: www.UnitedCoin.ae on: March 01, 2024, 11:17:31 AM
You don't know well about the service, but you are recommending it for other people to use?  Shocked

HI - I never worked with them but they said, they accept Cards - www.UnitedCoin.ae

Steve

What if it turns out to be a scam.

I have never used the service. They don't have so much online presence and something tells the domain is still very new. I would avoid them for now.
These testimonials are also obvious are fake --- https://unitedcoin.ae/testimonials/
207  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What after localbitcoins.com shutting down on: March 01, 2024, 10:59:48 AM
There are fewer options for peer-to-peer trading. If a well-known P2P exchange closes, it could be risky for us. Many people prefer P2P trading over centralized exchanges like Binance. While there might be other P2P exchanges opening up, LocalBitcoin was a trusted choice. I'm not sure why a P2P exchange would shut down. Maybe it's just for some temporary rules.
Localbitcoins shutdown probably due to regulatory pressure and a decline in its popularity/trading volumes, but it was far from being anything peer to peer and decentralized in its later stages.
The service was custodial and one need to have their KYC verified before using the exchange.

If you want a serious p2p exchange that is decentralized. Check out Bisq.network
208  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: local bitcoin alternative on: February 29, 2024, 11:43:02 PM
Your site needs more documentation on how it works. Is it custodial or noncustodial? How does the escrow work? What are the fees? Minimum transaction amount. Dos and don'ts.
Your FAQs are lacking. More like a summary
Where is the help desk or the support contacts?

Where are your terms, privacy policy? KYC or no KYC?
209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: February 29, 2024, 11:34:53 PM
People just don't know how strong Athletic Bilbao is, especially in their home Stadium, San Mamés. Copa del Rey is also their favorite tournament. They have won it 23 times in the past, ahead of Real Madrid (20) and Atlético Madrid (10). Only Barcelona has won more titles (31). No surprise, they obliterated a stubborn Atlético Madrid tonight. I think they are bagging this year's title.
I am also pretty impressed by how the Iñaki Williams and Nico Williams are coordinating so well and making history at the Athletic club.
210  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: betnomi.com scammed 0.125BTC on: February 29, 2024, 11:12:53 PM
For anyone following this thread
at the day 29.02.2024 I still not received refund of this scam accusation.
I was put on list with 3 other users for additional checks by "external risk managment" if they will process my refund I will update this thread.
Betnomi shitting in the pants when a toilet was available and now trying so hard to clean up the mess they created in the first place. I guess some people just always prefer the hard way! OP keep updating as on the progress of the refunding process.
I don't think I can ever use their casino, even when they have made full refunds.
211  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase Support on: February 29, 2024, 10:46:36 PM
Did Bitcoin pump just ''broke'' Coinbase exchange today?!

This happens every time there is a bull run or a flash dump. I think there are reports that even kraken, Robinhood and other bunch of exchanges had similar issues around about the same time Grin
Back in the day when Bitmex had the volumes, it would also completely freeze or crash, but I don't see that problem there anymore.

I experienced one of those outages one time and trust me, it can be so traumatizing, especially in the derivatives markets. Your position gets liquidated even before you blink, and yet you can't close it yourself.
212  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Rollbit closed my account with around $4500 on: February 28, 2024, 11:57:07 PM
They don't just block your account out of the blue. Something must have happened for them to do so.
1. Did you use a VPN service to register, log in and play in the casino?
2. Do you have anyone else in the same household who used the same network as you to access websites? Do you share devices at time? Does he also have an account with Rollbit?
213  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OTC exchange offering daily yield of 25 bps (0.25%) on: February 28, 2024, 10:55:24 PM
Definitely a scam attempt. There is no OTC exchange service, folks.

OP has a history of false projects and dishonest behavior. Do not deal with him. Here is some of the negative feedback on his profile.

214  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] YLD Defi plagiarized website content! on: February 28, 2024, 10:33:06 PM
Excuse me for bumping this thread (i know last reply was created on 2020). But that user (@9TONNN) come back and perform SEO spam for another shady project on some boards. It looks like he still hoping Copper Member status makes his SEO spam looks more credible. In addition, both project he mentioned (in 2020 and 2024) use term AI as buzzword.
Looks like he woke up to look for someone to scam now there is a promising bull market

I also noticed he made several posts about his G64 Group which he claims is an OTC exchange, like he did in this thread. Anybody who trusts that user even after seeing those tags and a flag and end up getting scammed should really blame himself as well.
215  Other / Meta / Re: Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed on: February 27, 2024, 11:49:43 PM
I can confirm that account is stoled, It was my old account that I dont have access anymore, I dont know how long my account has been stoled. I can confirm it by old mails and proofs, I dont want my old account back, i dont care tbh, but i dont want anyone to impersonate me.

If you can check my 2013 writing to this writing now is clear its not the same person, bc I was the old owner.
So you just registered today to tell has that your account got compromised after it came under fire, where were you to tell us that your account was stolen back then? All of a sudden, you are now concerned about anyone impersonating you? How convenient.

I don't believe you.
216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: February 27, 2024, 10:47:35 PM
It's until today that I realized that in Spain, there is no goal line technology  Shocked
Like how is this even allowed to happen in a major league in 2024, yet they approved VAR which is a much newer invention. Goal line Technology is like almost 10 years old since it was first introduced in football.

It was a very ridiculous situation in the Copa del Rey Match between Real Sociedad and Mallorca, where they partly had to use VAR to determine if the ball had crossed the line.
217  Economy / Gambling / Re: Greenredwins.com #1 Web3 P&P Game on Polygon! on: February 25, 2024, 11:41:39 PM
You claim the smart contract code is audited and verified by Certik, but you don't show us the link for independent verification. How are we supposed to know if this is true or false?
Isn't this strategy of going up or down for the Bitcoin price similar to that of trading options?

Since your platform deals with only altcoins and nothing to do with Bitcoin. I think it belongs to service announcements altcoin board.
218  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustadice – Next Generation Dice on: February 25, 2024, 10:49:52 PM
<...>
I just got to know about this today. An end to a rather colorful era. Hopefully, leomedina continues the great work and reputation from where you have left. Thanks for the great times.

We will continue to honor Bitcoin deposits to existing deposit addresses until June 1, 2024. After this date, they will become obsolete. Therefore, we ask that you stop depositing to your old deposit addresses by this date.
Perhaps email reminders to existing customers could also be necessary as early as possible.
219  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Kineko.com Withdrawal in status pending 3 month on: February 25, 2024, 10:38:00 PM
Is there any news regarding this matter?
OP has been online even today but no update from him. I haven't even seen him try to do what other members suggest him to do. Maybe he just decided to give up on the issue. In my opinion, I would just avoid using the casino to prevent similar scenarios.
220  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is BITKERN legit hosting for ASIC ? on: February 25, 2024, 09:35:58 PM
It seams they are legit, but it weird that they haven't much reviews in internet
Probably because it's not that popular or fewer people use it, but they could be legitimate. It's worth noting that not so many people know about the hosting service, even in the mining forums/communities, as seen in the responses on Reddit.
