noones.com/
Same as Paxful. But I think works only outside US.
But works the same as Paxful.
Good actually.
noones.com is just actually a result of a despite between the founders of paxful. I wouldn't use it, just like I never used it before the dispute. Check this thread; Paxful is Coming Back, but…The best platforms so far are LocalCoinSwap / Bisq / AgoraDesk
Binance is a centralized shit, sorry not sorry.
I still don't understand why keep referring to the centralized exchanges as p2p marketplaces. Binance has and will never be a p2p marketplace.

Talking about service, the Neno wallet device has a long life span
What is Neno? Never heard of that kind of wallet device before.
Ledger or Trezor.
If it's simply for Bitcoin, why don't you get started with Electrum, and you can move to a hardware wallet such as Ledger or Trezor,
Hardware wallets vary, especially if you have enough capital to buy it, just choose which one is your criteria for the hardware, I think the list shown by @noorman0 is complete, but the most common ones are Trezor and Ledger,
Folk, when suggesting the best wallet for someone, please keep updated to avoid misinformation. Firstly, Ledger wallets are not open source like trezor wallet Secondly, there is something going on with ledger, and this would not be the right time to recommend someone to buy any of their wallets Read this thread for more information: Ledger Recovery - Send your (encrypted) recovery phrase to 3rd parties entities

Is there a connection between brc-20 tokens and miners? Maybe it's the big miners who finance the brc-20 projects. Now the commissions in the bitcoin network have already fallen, but the miners managed to make good money.
Miners financing BRC20 projects? I don't think so, I believe It was just a coincidence and good fortune to them when the transactions fees spiked. It would make sense at all to spend a lot in fees to spam the network, hoping that the pool you are using is going to mine the next block in order to earn the extra transaction fee rewards. Secondly, the BTC20 tokens spamming the network is not sustainable in the long run, many people would stop using Bitcoin for transactions so it would be a rather short sighted move.

Haha will we ever get a new forum layout and tech though? Only the superhero back from the future surely has the perfect answer Bitcointalk is rather outdated in terms of features and design, but just like Craigslist, it just works.
What choice do we have? It's the oldest Crypto forum, rich with history. I tried looking at alternatives in the past, but they are not up to the standard of Bitcointalk when it comes to post quality, less spam, activity etc

Man, feels like my Grand kids will be the ones to enjoy the new forum software that is, provided the tech behind its build isn't old by the time of it's release

I'm wondering how can smaller local exchanges like Bitbuy continue to run when these big companies are shutting down one after the other.
Not able to access Bitbuy since my IP address is blocked, but it's likely because Bitbuy does not offer stablecoin products to the locals in Canada, or they decided to bend down to the rules stated to them by the Canadian Regulators. Binance on the other hand believes that bending down to the new regulations is not worth a hustle for them since they have other places to offer the service. At least that's what I understand from the message they sent.

Or try to download again jaxx liberty and moved your old jaxx folder to the new one in appdata But in order to access the account, he will have to enter the password to first unencrypt the file, which I think he doesn't remember or know. So he is using the tool to try and extract back-up phrase Also, Jaxx liberty is being retired

I agree with you, just like on Facebook when someone replies to my comment will be notified of the account, very convenient. Overall, implementing this feature could improve the user experience and make forum discussions more organized and readable.
I am not sure if you have done some reading around, but such feature implementations won't be done on this current forum software. Maybe the new one There are some replies above on how you get yourself custom notifications, but I guess you didn't read through. Did you?

Some of my replies are opinion based Some? How about the others? I am trying to research also just to add my knowledge about the topic That's not worth it, my friend. It's not like it's an exam. If you are not sure about something. Just let it slide, or read what other members have responded. If you don't understand the input. You can always ask. and learn from people's experience. Sorry if u think me that way. I am not sure if you guys can understand my grammar from some of my replies. I dont know everything so I research. Im just making myself clear. Thank you
You are not being crucified here because of your grammar. It's just a suspicion that you could be using an AI to generate texts based on your posting history. Worst thing is that you are trying to respond to topics that you have less info about.

You asked a rather familiar question not so long ago here: bingx copytradingThere were some helpful responses over there. I am not sure if you even spared some time to read through If you had not understood anything, you should have continued with the other thread for easy follow up. I also make full use of the Bingx support and available articles about copytrading.

Not all images are invalid. Perhaps some different reasons to make images valid or invalid from imgur.com.
Can you point out some of the image links from imgur that are showing well in the forum? Because I just checked my post history and from the few that I have seen, I believe all images that are hosted on Imgur are having the image proxy error. I have been uploading mine on Imgur this entire time, and it hurts if they are going to delete everything. Images hosted on other sites like imgbb are OK.
|
|
|
I could be speculating, but It looks like Imgur has changed their terms of service. This involves removal of explicit content and "old, unused, and inactive content that is not tied to a user account from their platform" according to a TechCrunch article. In addition to explicit images, Imgur is also removing old and unused photos that are not tied to an account. As a Twitter user noted, Imgur has been used for years to upload photos without an account and post links to different kinds of sites. Removing those images might result in a lot of dead links all over the internet. The changes are going to take effect this Month on the 15th. That's just 3 days away, so I believe they started blocking proxies? I think Theymos has to think about the forum being able to self-host images if it's possible, away from using third party image hosting sites that keep changing their terms of service every day

I advise anyone to stay away from these links because they may be managed in one way or another by the government. Name Servers:kirk.ns.cloudflare.com carol.ns.cloudflare.com I could list for you a number of popular mixers here that use Cloudflare too, but in the spirit of togetherness I don't want to do that since it might look weird given that I am wearing a signature of another mixer Good thing I have given you a clue, just look up.

Your exchange is giving me that feeling that it's like template and is like a project of a student. There's also that date from 2019 that's currently with the "guest" word. Apparently a guest made a trade on their platform somewhere on the 1st Jan 2019 and left them a positive rating! It seems this guy ( Games.Bitcoin) is using ChatGPT to generate replies. He made a reply in one of the posts I had made asking something about Bitcoin, but it seemingly looked off-topic. My question was: What are the effects of lowering the average Bitcoin block confirmation time? The reply; Lowering the average Bitcoin block confirmation time could have several potential effects, both positive and negative:
Faster Transactions: The most obvious benefit of a lower confirmation time is that transactions would be confirmed more quickly. This would allow users to send and receive Bitcoin more efficiently, which could improve overall transaction throughput and user experience.
Higher Transaction Fees: A lower confirmation time could lead to an increase in transaction fees, as users may be willing to pay more to have their transactions confirmed more quickly. This could make Bitcoin transactions more expensive, especially during times of high network activity.
Increased Risk of Double Spending: A shorter confirmation time could increase the risk of double spending, where a user spends the same Bitcoin twice. This is because a shorter confirmation time gives attackers less time to launch a double spending attack before the transaction is confirmed.
Increased Network Congestion: A shorter confirmation time could also lead to increased network congestion, as more transactions would need to be processed in a shorter period of time. This could lead to longer wait times for users, higher transaction fees, and a higher risk of transaction failures.
Overall, lowering the average Bitcoin block confirmation time could improve the speed and efficiency of Bitcoin transactions, but it could also lead to higher transaction fees, increased network congestion, and a higher risk of double spending. Any changes to the Bitcoin protocol should be carefully considered and thoroughly tested to ensure that they do not have any unintended consequences.
The reply quite similar to what ChatGPT would say More of his replies in other posts are similar 1. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5450986.msg62216705#msg622167052. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5441656.msg62216546#msg622165463. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5446911.msg62213155#msg622131554. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5451835.msg62209569#msg62209569And many more of his posts

Is that even technically possible? Yes it is, in fact we do have blocks that getting confirmed with in few minutes of each other. It's random but it happens For example, this happened about 1 hour back I don't remember in my time on the forum having read anything similar, nor outside of it either, contrary to the block size debate that led to the block size wars. it's the answer I am seeking. Why they opted for Blocksize instead of the average confirmation time.
I believe that in order to change the average block time, the way difficulty and bitcoin rewards work would also need to be adjusted... This is obvious
I asked this question when I first joined Bitcoin Talk, and the answer I was given was that it would create more orphan blocks, and decrease the stability of the blockchain. Sounds reasonable The answer is not more frequent blocks, but the removal of rubbish from the chain. Segwit helped, now lets get rid of the juvenile memes and other dross that is being included at the moment. Bitcoin is suoposed to be a medium of exchange, not a fancy Youtube channel.
I was actually looking at it from the adoption point of view rather than the memes. The memes are useless, and we will have to find away of getting read of them. Let's say the memes are out of the picture and Bitcoin adoption has really grown huge with so many transactions streaming in from all corners per minute.

I find it great, that you have something like the BRC 20 standard,
that makes it possible to store & share inscriptions via the btc blockchain. At the cost of bloating the Blockchain and stopping it's intended use. Crypto is also about art, and not only about storing numeric value. You might as well tell us where in this whitepaperdoes it talk about Bitcoin being a peer to peer electronic art system. If we want to achieve a higher adoption, Art, NFTs etc. should also become possible on the btc network.
What higher adoption if more users are going to stop using the network because of very high fees due to the unnecessary network spam that wasn't supposed to be there in the first place?

Yeah if BTC hodlers panic and cry for a dev rescue BTC deserves to crash out.
This is a test of wills and BTC needs to hodl hodl hodl. Also do a few small btc moves to support net work.
Forget about Hodlers, I doubt if they even care about the current fees. The problem is that the high fees are not sustainable for people making day to day transactions in the long run. This is supposed to be one of the strong points of Bitcoin. Eliminate the middleman who could charge you exorbitant fees like how banks and all those other payment providers do. I doubt there is any need for concern over the whole BRC-20 debacle. The truth is that its not sustainable for the attacker,
With this confidence and the innocence you have, I am sure they (the attacker) gave up on the fees on the Ethereum Network that spiralled past $100 even when they had hundreds of thousands of Dollars in their pockets after selling scam coins to gullible traders. Our hope is the congestion stops when the hype dies down, but let say it continues for 2–3 years like it happened in another network. What next? How many of us do you think will start using alternative networks in order to make transactions?

I don't know if this has been discussed before, However let me ask here for some clarity.
Given the current overload of the mempool with around 400K unconfirmed transactions. A scenario came up in my mind where there are over 200K transactions being broadcasted in the network per hour due to an increase in adoption with different Countries using it as recognized payment method. The ~4K transactions per block which get confirmed approx every 10 minutes currently wouldn't help that much in such a scenario.
Apart from the purging of low fee transactions from the mempool, would reducing the average block confirmation time help clear up the mempool and try to keep the average transaction fees lower?
Do you think such a thing can be implemented in the current situation where Ordinals are messing up the network big time?
What are the negative effects of lowering the average block confirmation time?

There should have been some sort of way out with mixer. For example, getting collective coins in a batch and lowering the fees for sender. Won't this compromise privacy? You know, the major reason we always opt for a mixer is privacy. Also, I don't think batch transaction will lower the fees dramatically. Imagine a jump in the normal transaction fee rate from let's 3 sats/vbyte a few weeks to 300 sats/vbyte today... That's a 9,900% increase in fees Anyways this is way temporary issue it seems.
Temporary, if the Devs and bitcoin community do something about it.
