New exchange announcement.

Phemex
I was about to ask you about adding Phemex. It's good you added support for it on your platform.

Please submit your review before 23:59 UTC today.
It looks like @Rockstarguy made a review but probably forgot to submit it through the report form. Maybe he missed out that bit of the instructions.
With the deadline coming in fast, try sending him a PM about this if he is not paying attention to the mention bot notifications.

My review

1. Downloads and set up

Setting up the mixin safe using the mornin Key was my preferred option because;
→ There was no access to a ledger hardware wallet at the time of testing the service.
→ There was not enough resource and time to install and set up a full Bitcoin core node.

As a first timer, during the set-up process. I faced some hiccups due to the couple of apps I had to install. The instructions are not quite straight forward (You install the app or do something as per the guidelines, but you have no idea why you are even doing a particular step)

I suggest a proper documentation is made on how to set up the mixin safe, with easier to understand instructions in articles and videos for the newbies.

For example

Quote
Download & Install Mornin Key
Download & Install Mixin messenger
Yes, but what is their purpose to the mixin safe we are trying to set up?

Quote
Invite members
Follow the instructions on the Safe website and invite your members to install Mixin Messenger. Please also remind them to log into Mixin Safe Dashboard by scanning the QR code.

Maybe the hypertext link to the Mixin safe website should be inserted in the highlighted area so that it's a little more direct.

2. Mixin messenger

Downloading it and setting it up was pretty straight forward, but I had a challenge with one of my mobile network providers as I was not able to receive the SMS verification code.

→ Add more ways of verifying the phone number, like an automatic phone-call. Something similar to what is on WhatsApp.
→ How about a secondary email verification for those that don't want to use SMS verification or use their phone numbers for registering?

The Mixin messenger's guidelines probably have some error, which could be misleading
It says,
Quote
supports 36 public chains such as BTC, EOS, ETH, XMR and more than 100,000 tokens
Coinmarketcap and coingecko suggest that there are only about 10,000 tokens. Please correct that.

Fiat Currencies
Add more local fiat currencies around the world if you pick exchange rate data from platforms like Coinbase. Cryptocurrencies are now getting known world over. Currently, the APP supports only 15 of them.

Adding contacts
The QR Code scanner looks a little out of place, maybe another QR code scanner next to Mixin ID or Phone number search box would be great

Setting Emergency Contact
This was straight forward, easy steps to follow with clear instructions

3. Sign in Mixin Safe

Signing in using the QR code was easy, but I do wonder what happens if I have only one device? I was lucky to have 2 mobile phones and a laptop. What about someone with only one phone, how do they access the Mixin safe?

The Mixing safe could also do well with an option for dark mode  Wink

Settings

Settings → General → Appearance

→ Again, very limited fiat currency options. This time only four!
→ Only 2 languages available. English and Simplified Chinese. You might need to work bringing in more Languages.

Setting up safe.
No hiccups at all, but we might need simple and detailed instructions that can help a layman understand what they are doing and why they are doing so.

I also put my computer to sleep, got back to it 8 hours later, and I just got right back into the safe's account minus any log in prompt/verification. I think security should be tightened in regard to the safe.

Pay To test

I used bitcoin as a payment option.

Under scan to pay, you should add more wallets, with emphasis on open source noncustodial wallets. For example, even with electrum, one can scan to pay.

Under payment method, you should also add an option to open in wallet like you see in sites such as bitrefill. Once you click on the button, the wallet installed in the device opens up automatically with the order details (address and amount to be spent)

I also saw somewhere that order expires in 48 hours. We know that sometimes Bitcoin transactions can take more than 48 hours to get confirmed if the fee paid is very low. What happens if the transaction gets confirmed after 48 hours? Does the service process an automatic refund?

On my test transaction, the order got confirmed, and I was redirected to the new safe page summary and also received a message on the mixin messenger about by subscription after which I proceeded to create the safe

Mysterious Recovery tab

Once I created the safe, A new tab appear (Recovery tab) With no explanation or few helpful notes in the tab, I was not exactly sure what its purpose was exactly for. I guess so many newbies will also be clueless about this.
It had some details about my safe and stuff like that, with a last transaction date from 2001! More confusion. And then when I reloaded the page, everything was gone, just like that.

Depositing

There is an error from receive deposit. Once I clicked on it, it instead redirected me to the page similar as where one is trying to withdraw from the safe.

I ended up depositing through Safes → Receive deposits (on clicking 3 dots) → Deposit address generated.
Once my deposit was confirmed, this is what I saw in my Recovery page.

I never set the lock time to 4 days, so I have no idea what happened. How one can modify the lock time, if it's even possible? What if I want 10 days or 30 days?

New Recovery
I wanted to see the guidelines, but the link took me no where. Please fix that.

I tried reading about safeBTC and I didn't understand anything. What is this?
Quote
safeBTC does the system return the asset certificate after the deposit of BTC and is required to transfer the asset certificate to obtain a Safe Network signature.

Anyway, I just did a new recovery by holder keys method and see what happens.
Once I approved, there was not much information about what was happening next. No transaction ID, No record about the receiving address, Not many details about the transaction/activity I had just carried out. No idea whether the Bitcoin is going to appear in my address or not. And if yes, approximately after how long?

In summary, this is how the page looked like

4. Conclusion

The idea behind the mixin safe is a great one, but the process involved in setting up the safe is tedious and does not have proper documentation. I suggest you invest a lot more in helpful articles and Tutorials, including Explainer videos.
If new users with less technical knowledge are going to use this platform. Ensure that process is precise and well to the point.
Most of the other suggestions are within my review.

Thanks for the opportunity to review your platform.

Not sure if you  checked because the last time I check(Just NOW) he is still wearing their Signature

 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=142531

so i think it is reasonable for me to ask this about if the campaign is still paying them as of their Loyalty.

This is what my browser is showing me  Grin

I don't know what the problem is, but by coincidence, I guess my browser is doing a pretty damn going job blocking their annoying signature. As for the payments, they are no long receiving anything.
Accounts that are still posting in this thread are doing so in hope that the campaign may return, as they have nowhere else to enroll.
945  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | Sportsbook & Casino 🎲⚽ on: July 25, 2023, 11:58:48 PM
Ooh, well, I guess it was just a matter of time before they pull off their exit scam.

Personally, I never liked how Betnomi operated from the very beginning. They had so many issues and then at times they would try to clean up the reputation through contest sponsorships, signature and review campaigns only to mess up again with more issues. The cycle went on and on.

946  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1XBIT.COM ᐉ 7 BTC WB ᐉ Altcoin Betting ᐉ no KYC ᕗ Instant payouts on: July 25, 2023, 11:46:34 PM
are they still paying you? or this is a post to pump so they will consider running the campaign longer?
He is not wearing their signature... what do you think?
The campaign stopped a few months back. I think the scam team finally woke up and realized that there is no place for their organized scam in this forum and beside the accounts that were advertising them were a dozen of red tagged account farms that were only giving them more negative publicity.
947  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Huobi.com Suspending Withdrawal: Funds Held Hostage due to Monero Transaction on: July 25, 2023, 11:26:25 PM
Any update on this ? They literally just did the same thing to me. Been fighting for my funds for a week now. Only used huobi for a total of like 6 transactions. Deposited btc 3 times to convert to USDT then withdraw. Sent $7K in xmr to do the same and immediate freeze. This is crazy. Honestly i am using them from a restricted country and i apologized to them for that. I even KYC. They have my info, but are demanding basically all over my financial information like they did with R4ISE.
Why send your XMR to such exchanges, yet there are better alternatives suggested even on the Monero official site?

1. bisq.network
2. LocalMonero.co
3. hodlhodl.com
4. unstoppableswap.net

More exchanges can be got here: https://www.getmonero.org/community/merchants/ or here https://kycnot.me/

Quote
Do you guys think its okay for them to keep my money because i used them from a restricted country?
Of course, it's not. They are supposed to give you back your funds and close your account.

Quote
Why would they allow xmr deposits if they dont like the coin???
It's what i have been asking myself too. What's the point of keeping the coin in an exchange if they are not comfortable with it's deposits?
948  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Exchange] GRAVIEX Exchange: low fees, fast withdrawals, high security on: July 24, 2023, 11:10:47 PM
Graviex is a total scam and stealing peoples coins. Stop using this exchange. They are not registered anywhere. No license to track nor office location. They can do an exit scam anytime. Stay away from this exchange as they are unlicensed.
Wanna make a scam accusation where everyone looking stands a chance of seeing it,

Then make a fresh post in the scam accusations board, use this guide - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260073.0
Secondly, why do you continue to use that exchange, yet it has several negative complaints about it.
949  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Have 100$ BTC need 100$ Paypal. on: July 24, 2023, 10:55:22 PM
does this site have complicated terms? because I've been to several sites and they ask for ID photos, selfie photos.
But you can read their reviews, terms of service and privacy policy to get all the information you need

1. https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.localcoinswap.com
2. https://localcoinswap.com/terms-of-service
3. https://localcoinswap.com/privacy

My understanding is that they have no mandatory KYC.
950  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Got scamed by Stake on: July 24, 2023, 10:27:04 PM
Thats why its buged. It shows at handicap when i chose the winner.
It looks like you are either very ignorant on the kind of bet you made or just a sore loser on a smear campaign. I suggest you read more about how handicap betting works. Stake has a full article about this Handicaps Sports Betting Guide

The truth is, based on the type of bet you made, you lost.
951  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: A Non-Custodial wallet, Atomic Wallet, being compromised on: July 23, 2023, 11:57:51 PM
I was one of those hacked. I always use atomic wallet on a dedicated laptop that is not used for anything else other than a wallet. I couldn't get my EOS to send, so support recommended I download the wallet to another device and I did, to my cell phone on May 31, from the Apple store. I believe that my account was compromised when I entered the seed phrase on  my Iphone. What do you think?
Very likely, though not conclusive.

This particular issue involved lots of innocent users, and the team behind atomic wallet have not yet given any clear explanation about the exploit.

Just did a quick look around, has there been ANY update anywhere on this?

At this point they are not ever going to be considered secure again, but they seem to have just stopped mentioning it and as far as I can tell so have a lot of the online places that I read
They were never secure in the first place (in regard to not having an open source code)  Wink

Pretty messed up wallet and the team behind it. I would treat it the same as a centralized exchange or a service that has already been completely compromised.
952  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: July 23, 2023, 11:32:14 PM
Is it just my computer and Firefox browser, or everyone else is viewing the roobet signature the same way as I do?

I tried Opera, TOR browser, Chrome and everything seems OK but on my Firefox, that's how I see it.
My operating system is Ubuntu 23.04

Firefox version 115.0.2 (64-bit)

Could someone else try and see if things are OK on the Firefox of their operating system before I report the problem to the CM.
953  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mixin Safe (Decentralized Multisig+MPC+Timelock solution) review preperation on: July 21, 2023, 11:55:59 PM
Not sure if the question belongs here or not, but is it just me or others are experiencing this...if you log into Mixin Safe via the web platform , I have noticed that mixin doesn't log you out automatically even after hours of you not being near you PC! Is this suppose to work this way, thought after X minutes it need should to sign I  with Mornin key 🔑 or something  Roll Eyes
If you believe it's a useful security feature, then I suggest you should add it in your review post if you are part of the selected reviewers. This is the main reason they decided to spend some money on the review campaign… Right?
954  Economy / Reputation / Re: deadsea33 questionable merit history on: July 21, 2023, 11:33:09 PM
I took a look at the merit history a while back, but I realized something was fishy about deadsea33's merit history and the reason behind the word game thread. I will be damned if the top merit receivers in that thread are not his alts.

Do we have any data scraping experts who can help us find out the
1. Number of posts users each user made in that thread
2. Number of merits users who posted in that thread earned from deadsea33

This will help paint a clear picture on his alts.

955  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 120$ Loan defaulted by [Supreemo] on: July 21, 2023, 11:16:28 PM
I swear on however small of a reputation I have in this forum that I have never scammed anyone nor will I ever scam anyone. I am not in any way connected to supremo or karmamiu.
Yes, you are through the evilgreed account. We don't do KYC here, so anyone can make up anything just to save their asses

Quote
The only thing that I am guilty of is giving merits to my alt accounts out of desperation which are Similificator, Vatimins and redhondaxrm125. And I have fully admitted my fault about this issue and have never done it since. Which is why the supposedly negative trust that was given to me by "lovesmayfamilis" was changed into neutral.
And you really expect us to believe what you say here?

After exchanging merits with your alt accounts? You can't be trusted for sure.

I see 2 more likely alt accounts of yours and one of them is banned. I need to first confirm this before posting them here. You should have paid the loan and everything should have just been fine. I guess that is karma hitting right back at you.
956  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] [banned mixer] | Best Bitcoin Mixer | Low fees | Fully automated on: July 21, 2023, 10:58:14 PM
So I think, for privacy tor is the best,
This is very true.

I don't know how important it is, but I never use the code when mixing, I don't know what it does and function. many argue that code for as not to repeat the same mixing, but my experience (never used code 3 time) I never received the same mixed address
Yeah, the mixing code ensures that in the future when you are mixing using YoMix, you will never get sent back the coins you ever sent to the platform for mixing in the past.

As time goes on, things will probably be different without the use of the mixing code. I am sure you mixed a few Bitcoins, which is why you never received from the same mixed address.
957  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is It Normal For A Site To Ask For Your Wallet Address? on: July 21, 2023, 10:44:11 PM
Foremost, I advise you not to use Atomic wallet. Yes, it's noncustodial, but it's not open source. I don't know how you missed this during your research, but that wallet was compromised not so long ago and people lost their funds. The team behind the wallet has never had any plausible explanation on what happened.

Check this threads
1. Atomic Wallet hacked! Get your funds out now!
2. Atomic Wallet compromised and not safe!
3. IS ATOMIC WALLET HACK OR SCAM? 🔴 Immediately Withdraw your Funds
4. A Non-Custodial wallet, Atomic Wallet, being compromised

I did research and decided on Atomic Wallet.
I want to transfer funds from my Bank of America account into Atomic Wallet.
However, there are 7 different USDCoins.
So I used the Help feature and ask which of the 7 should I use?
You can't transfer funds directly from the bank to a wallet. You first have to by crypto coins that you then transfer to a wallet. Use an exchange like Coinbase, kraken… make a deposit, buy your preferred coin and then transfer it to a better wallet.

If you have any question. Post it here. Members will help you out.

Is it normal for them to ask for my coin address?
I've read about all the scams going on. About how good hackers are.
And why do they need my coin address?
Asking for a coin address is OK. They can only watch your balance but can't withdraw anything. The only issue is privacy.

They probably asked for your coin address so that they know which blockchain/network you wanted to use
958  Economy / Exchanges / Re: ICBIT aka Orderbook.net Dataset on: July 20, 2023, 11:37:19 PM
Have you tried contacting the current Safello exchange? They probably have the data. There are not so many if at all any sites that accurate Bitcoin prices from back in the day especially derivative products prices
959  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Which wallet is the most suitable option when considering a switch from Ledger? on: July 20, 2023, 10:46:04 PM
One thing I have noticed about some hardware wallets is that they start out as very good, trustable, open-source and highly privacy conscious wallets only for them to turn around on their customers later after they have purchased the devices because of greed.

I believe you can attest to this after purchasing the Ledger x back in the day vs the situation today. I am personally ashamed of recommending people to use ledger hardware wallets back then.

My suggestion is that you get one of your devices with a clean OS that you will never connect to the internet or install in any random app, and then create a wallet in that air-gapped device (electrum, unstoppable wallet, sparrow wallet etc.) and then carefully and securly keep your seeds. This way you avoid this greedy hardware wallet company disappointments.

If you want a platform that has both crypto and stock market screeners, then Tradingview is the best option.

However, there are so many independent crypto market and stock market screeners out there. Here are a few I got;

1. Crypto market screeners

https://altfins.com/crypto-screener
https://bitscreener.com

2. Stock market screeners
