[...]

282  Economy / Services / Re: [OFNT] [AOBT] The Alliance Of Bitcointalk Translators on: January 31, 2024, 11:27:12 AM
@GazetaBitcoin, i really didn't realize that. let's wait and see what 1miau has to say about it... but of course i'll pay my respects to everyone here Smiley

No worry, dear cygan Smiley However, we should wait for a bit until picking a new topic. In part, because there are (real) chances) to finish a few more of the existing ones. As you could see, 2 topics need only 2 more translations for being finished while another one needs only 1 more translation for same purpose. Besides, since we are in a process of settling which members will join or which ones will be still kept inside our group, Porf also added this:

This is not the best week to make more decisions, but I think that next week we should pick the new topic to translate in our local boards.

So let's just wait for a bit Smiley

P.S.: I know that for all those 3 topics there are already translations made in German and Polish, thus in case you wanted to do some more pro bono work there would be nothing to do about them. However, in case you are "eager to make translations", you can try working on the Polish translation for Husna QA's topic. It doesn't need to be finished fast (and it's impossible anyway), but if you really want to feel like "working on something" you could try this translation... This is just an idea, a suggestion, please don't take me wrong.
283  Economy / Services / Re: [OFNT] [AOBT] The Alliance Of Bitcointalk Translators on: January 31, 2024, 10:40:47 AM
i found the following thread, created by 1miau

Thank you for this suggestion, cygan. I am sorry to say though, but as far as I know, 1miau put all possible translations for his topics to "on hold":

Unfortunately, officially reserving translations it not available currently

He even repeated this decision in another post:

Reserving new translations is currently not available.

He still accepted some translations, from respect and also because these topics were already in our list here and he was aware of this aspect. But other than the topics already existent here he stopped accepting new translations. I think we should respect his will, in this case...
284  Economy / Services / Re: [OFNT] [AOBT] The Alliance Of Bitcointalk Translators on: January 31, 2024, 10:04:24 AM
By the way, I finished another translation, Porf, you're so kind, could you please update the OP?

Thank you for your involvement, gagux1234! This translation brings this topic also to the situation of being very close to be finished, as it needs only 2 more translations. Having in mind that 1miau's topic was finished too, thanks to Husna QA's involvement, the situation of our topics soon to be finished is the following one:

As a consequence, I made below a list with heads-up for the possible translators which can address these 3 topics:

All in all there are 21 possible translations for these 3 topics, but only 5 are needed in order to flag them as finished. From all these topics, the one about factors to consider before joining a campaign is the shortest and easiest one to translate, followed by the one of fillippone.

Note: I excluded the [BAN] translation for fillippone's topic, since LB / DS announced they are not able to make that translations, due to knowledge limitations.

Hey 1miau,

At the initiative of AOBT, your topic was also translated in Indonesian language by Husna QA. I hope this is good news Smiley
If you are okay with the shape / quality of the translation, are you so kind, please, to add the translation to OP?
287  Economy / Services / Re: [OFNT] [AOBT] The Alliance Of Bitcointalk Translators on: January 30, 2024, 08:11:12 AM
* Here is a link to the Indonesian translation: Mengapa harus menggunakan alamat SegWit (Segregated Witness)

Great job, Husna QA! Now this translation is finished at last!
Porf, are you so kind, please, to update it in OP and move the topic to finished section?

I still have backlog translation from GazetaBitcoin  Grin So I'm going to look into it later.

No rush. Maybe until you finish someone else will look into it as well Smiley
288  Economy / Services / Re: [OFNT] [AOBT] The Alliance Of Bitcointalk Translators on: January 29, 2024, 07:11:47 PM
This is a short heads-up about translations in progress which are very close to be considered as being finished. First two topics have 9 translations already, thus 1 more for each is needed in order to be finished. Third one has 8 existing translations, thus 2 more are needed:

As a consequence, I made below a list with heads-up for the possible translators which can address these 3 topics:

All in all there are 19 possible translations for these 3 topics, but only 3 are needed in order to flag them as finished. Maybe we can do this Smiley

Note: I excluded the [BAN] translation for fillippone's topic, since LB announced he is not able to make that translations, due to knowledge limitations. Since DS also did not say anything, I can consider that translation will not be made in Bangla language thus I did not include it anymore.
289  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: January 29, 2024, 04:55:37 PM
As soon I read this, I scrambled to my post, and I saw I wasn't merited.
Sigh.

I am sorry, fillippone, but the quality of your post did not meet the required standards for being merited. However, you may try to highlight your post here.

Yet, I have to try harder!

Yes, try harder you must. Don't think about merits though, they will come with time Cheesy

I have been informed by a relative at home that the package from abroad has arrived

Thank you for your confirmation, BABY SHOES. In this case, we still need to hear news from JanEmil, Bullion-n-BTC and bitbollo.
291  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Free Raffle] 12 MixTum collectible cards on: January 29, 2024, 08:35:02 AM
This is great, thank you for confirming, wwzsocki! That should be the eighth delivered card.

As far as I understand, only 4 cards are still in transit: the ones of BABY SHOES, bitbollo, Bullion-n-BTC and JanEmil. In case any of you also received the prize are you so kind, please, to announce that here?

294  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 🥧 Bitcointalk Pie Making Contest - Gathering feedback 🥧 on: January 28, 2024, 10:23:16 AM
Since nobody replied here yet, let me be the first one.

Rick, what you said makes sense and make bring more fun for the contest. I did not see a contest based on such rule before (I mean on the forum) so, why not, you should try that too. It may bring some frustration to those close to win but which just did not get to 50%+1 thus they have to go through another round of voting but, in the end, I think the winner will have much more satisfaction while looking back and remembering the emotions felt during preliminary rounds.

So try this Smiley

Nevertheless, I am more than happy to hear that you want to organize a second pie baking contest. I wish I'll win second one too; not sure if I'll be able though, but I certainly am interested in participating again Smiley
295  Economy / Services / Re: [OFNT] [AOBT] The Alliance Of Bitcointalk Translators on: January 27, 2024, 06:33:57 PM
I just found that 1miau's topic Why people should be using SegWit addresses has an existing Arabic translation: لماذا يجب أن يستخدم الناس عناوين Segwit.

As a consequence, the topic has now 7 translations, which means only 3 more are needed in order to flag it as finished. The remaining possible translations are the following ones:

Why people should be using SegWit addresses by 1miau: [RUS] [TUR] [IDN] [ITA] [FIL] [HIN] [BAN] - so this should be in attention of zasad@, mindrust, Husna QA / dansus021, Ale88, Baofeng / Yatsan / Peanutswar, amishmanish, Learn Bitcoin / DYING_S0UL

Porf, are you so kind, please, to add the Arabic translation to OP as well?
296  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: January 27, 2024, 06:31:09 PM
In which circumstance I can send merit to a post on the voting topic? As far as I remember we all agreed that we can not merit anyone, I am sure my understanding was wrong.

Ideally, nobody should send merits in that topic. Practically, the rule states only that if you are nominated by someone at a category and you merit that post, that vote for you at that category will not be counted. So in theory you could send merits to other peoples voting for other users. Still, if you'd do that, it would only encourage others to act as well and also may some will not read the rules. As a consequence, they could merit posts where they were nominated, which would lead to have those votes not counted... It is best to not use merits inside that topic...
297  Other / Meta / Re: Top reporters on: January 27, 2024, 06:27:25 PM
Can we get Top reporters statistics for 2023?

In addition to this request, I would also like to ask theymos if he can publish the statistics for 2021 and 2022. Since OP was created, no other update was provided, thus statistics for all years since 2020 would be useful to see...
298  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Free Raffle] 12 MixTum collectible cards on: January 27, 2024, 02:35:24 PM
Received my 1st ICARUS card a few days ago.

I am very glad to hear that, CARIBBEAN_TREASURES! Now you can enjoy it as you please! And, with you, 6 prizes already reached their destination! Only 6 are still in transit. I hope they will arrive soon.
As for the rest of your questions, cygan already answered you. I also had the same doubt as you -- if I should try to remove that plastic but, fortunately, I also asked first before doing it Smiley

Later edit: I just realized that hopenotlate also wrote above that he received his prize. So there are only 5 cards to arrive Smiley

For those not aware, the quoted text is a hyperlink. Feel free to click on it, it's a beautiful gesture made by fillippone... <sigh>
300  Other / Meta / Re: Campaign to improve posting quality for local boards on: January 27, 2024, 02:30:41 PM
Great job Porf! I am more than glad to see another translation to our campaign, thus it becomes more and more popular around the forum. Spanish is the seventh language in which this campaign is made popular and, slowly, maybe it will advance to other local boards as well.

Of course, determination for making quality posts is necessary from all users but, at least, some of them have this topic translated and adapted in their language, thus it will be easier to follow some guidelines.
