1101  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] AgoraDesk.com | Buy ♻️ Sell Bitcoins Anonymously! on: July 10, 2023, 07:21:17 AM
What baffles me is the fact that, between September 2019 and April 2023 only 5 posts were made inside this topic. Since April this year, though, there are 4 pages of posts
Probably is a mix of two factors - Users are, from one reason or another, tired of CEX's [...] and started embracing more the solutions that exist in the P2P space.

If this is so (and I hope you are right) I am more than happy. Perhaps this topic of mine would become irrelevant at some point in time. And, if it will happen, I will not feel bad. It's bad enough that it took people more than a decade to make such more and to finally open their eyes in front of the risks associated with CEXs, speaking at large, and with exposing their privacy, in particular. So I really hope you are right about that, Rick!

The second factor, albeit this can't be directly measured, would be the signature campaign that icopress is doing regarding spreading awareness for the project within users who visit bitcointalk. Not only that, they seem to be active at least on Reddit[1] (albeit few users go there), Mastodon[2] and Telegram[3].

While I have to confess that I never heard of Mastodon until now (), since I am not using social media, I have to congratulate icopress for his continuous work on the forum, both as a campaign manager and as a person trying to help others to preserve their privacy and anonymity. On one side, as a campaign manager he does a lot of good to the forum, by not tolerating spam / scam (and he is very good at that). On the other side, his actions towards users' privacy are priceless. I, for one, appreciate him a lot for all these.
1102  Other / Archival / Re: 🌀 [banned mixer] - CoinJoin Mixer | Your Anonymity Is Our Priority! on: July 10, 2023, 07:07:45 AM
Why don't you use Tor version of the website?
then why Cloudflare?

Why not? The forum itself also uses CloudFlare. Indeed, perhaps it's not the best option, since many associate CloudFlare with NSA, but it is what it is.

We can reach a compromise, one confirmation to start the mixing process and not be able to withdraw until you get 3 confirmations, here the waiting time is reduced and the coins are still safe. Grin

See? What you wrote above is precisely what I anticipated in my earlier post:

I guess they wanted to choose a number bigger than zero and small enough in order for the users to not complain. Perhaps, if they required 6 confirmation there would be questions about "why are 6 confirmations needed?". Same would have happened if they required 3 or, like in current case, 2 confirmations.

No matter what number they chose, some would still ask why that number of confirmations was chosen.
1103  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should we hand out neutral/neg tags like candy?(open but might be future edits) on: July 10, 2023, 06:50:40 AM
I can not pronounce myself about all cases mentioned in OP, as I have to admit I did not study them all. However, unfortunately, I was forced somehow to study very well one of them. It happened against my will, as I never wanted that, yet things in life don't always happen as we want, so I was actually dragged in studying TimeLord's case -- I was dragged by his actions against me (his most recent one being the fact that he gave me a feedback calling me racist Oo -- obviously, with no relevant reference link).

I understand that yahoo questions the feedbacks in the cases he mentioned in OP (and, perhaps, some other ones as well). However, by taking a good look at TimeLord's received feedbacks, we can see that those calling him a liar / troll are users with very good reputation on the forum. Among others, we can see the names of LoyceV, 1miau, icopress, marlboroza or nutildah. Furthermore, these feedbacks are neutral ones, so they fully respect the rules of Marketplace Trust system.

Quote
Should we hand out neutral/neg tags like candy?(open but might be future edits)

As long as there are no financial deals involved, neutral feedbacks should be used. Sadly, not all users know that and many misuse the Marketplace Trust system, and I am emphasizing the official name of this system, as many consider it simply Trust system. It's not a Trust system, but a Trust system for Marketplace. Meaning it should be used for financial deals when giving positive or negative feedbacks. However, for all other kind of feedbacks users may leave neutral feedbacks.

If someone argues with a DT member, DT members will ~ them. So, there is no point in sharing an unbiased opinion. The only good thing is, If a DT member says, "This is correct, and that is not, " I have to agree with him as an average Joe. The better decision for an average Joe is to ignore the reputation board and start shitposting to make money from the signature campaign (Which I have been doing for the last couple of days).
It's normal, so @Learn Bitcoin, don't worry. I don't know about your issue but blaming DT like how you did it, is not really accurate.

I believe that Learn Bitcoin had a bad experience with a DT user (or some DT users) and he tends to extend this view over all DT users. Or, perhaps, he is too polite and, instead of pointing the finger toward someone he talks using a general approach. I can not say anything about Learn Bitcoin's (bad) experience with DT, as I don't know it, but what I can say about him is that he translated some topics of mine and he did it in a very professional manner. He was serious, he finished the work in time and he did it well. I am thankful to him for his (free) efforts in translating my topics and I think he is a serious user.
1104  Economy / Reputation / Re: Timelord2067 is a malicious liar and a deranged troll on: July 10, 2023, 06:27:05 AM
I will quote here 1miau's post from the other topic:

~Timelord2067
and
~Timelord2o67

This is important, as the troll has 2 accounts so, in case someone adds him to his distrust list with one account, make sure the other account is distrusted as well.

And this despite the fact that at that time we communicated more or less well with him.
Dear icopress, many thanks for sharing your insigths on the issue.
It's really surpsrising to see that Timelord2067's reaction to that incident has many similarities to the issue mentioned in my OP.
First, we didn't had any issues with Timelord2067.

The same thing happened between the troll and me, in the past. For those not knowing where the problems between us started, I'll quote myself below:

- Timelord2067 started distrusting nullius 5 weeks ago, according to loyce.club; at the same time interval, nullius started distrusting Timelord2067 as well
- nullius has a connection with me (he merited some of my posts; I translated some of his precious work in Romanian; we talked to each other in a friendly / respectful manner in various topics etc.)
- Timelord2067 and I never had any conflict; the only time when we interacted was in a friendly manner, in one of my topics, when he also merited me
- Timelord2067 becomes aware of the connection between me an nullius, seeing we respectfully talk to each other (also in the above mentioned topic)

Result: Timelord2067 starts distrusting me two weeks ago. I tried to PM him, telling him that without trying to change his opinion (which I was not), I only kindly ask him to explain his decision. Why? Of course, he didn't answer, as he was embarrassed (most likely) to admit that his judgement
1105  Economy / Reputation / Re: Timelord2067 is a malicious liar and a deranged troll on: July 08, 2023, 06:05:30 PM
Add ⁓Timelord2067 to your trust list

I salute the initiative of 1miau, which doubles down the thoughts I expressed with multiple occasions. This troll must be taken out from DT1 completely. At the moment he has 15 exclusion yet there are still 9 DT1 users including him in their Trust lists. However, I believe that, in time, more and more will see the miserable character of this imbecile and other will exclude him as well, no matter of they are part of DT or not.

This should have happened already a long time ago but still, it's okay if it happened now and not back then.

For years now, all the baboon does is spreading lies, derailing threads, making false accusations, attacking users with low ranks and so on and so forth. He looks like a village idiot trying to bully all people which are smaller than him. Sadly, for a while, he managed to do it. But his days are over. He may continue to live as a baboon inside the mental institution where he's kept for most of the time, or wherever else he wants to, but not here!
1106  Other / Meta / Re: Self-moderated topics - nice feature or should it get banned? on: July 08, 2023, 05:54:43 PM
1miau, it is useless to try to use a rational manner of speaking with the baboon. As you know well, the old perv is always bringing up some ridiculous ideas, taken out of context, but he assembles them in such a manner that if someone not knowing him is reading his imbecilities may be tempted, at first sight, to believe him.

However, the approach of the troll is very well known by most of forum users, thus his attempts are futile. If you want, in a way, he is just like c******unter. c******unter used, in his glorious days, to write all sort of idiocies, but he paid enough attention to touch OP's subject as well, thus his posts could not be (always) reported for being off-topic (and, therefore deleted). Apparently, c******unter was a sort of mentor for our village idiot named Timelord and now he applies what he learned from forum's (probably) greatest troll. However, sadly for him, he is years behind the skills of his mentor and all he does is to ridicule himself up to the point of being excluded from DT1.

Now, of course, his Neanderthal mind needs to fight back somehow. So, in-between some baseless accusations of racism, he hijacks various threads, trying to derail them. But no worry, the baboon is excluded by 15 DT1 users or so, thus his glory days here are over. Just ignore him.
1107  Economy / Services / Re: Fillippone Forum space for Rent [Avatar+ Signature+ Personal Text + Website] on: July 08, 2023, 09:04:34 AM
Now that's a great picture of our Supreme Leader! I never knew fillippone has such amazing talents at photography, therefore I take my hat off in front of his skills!  Roll Eyes

And I also bow down in front of our queen and thank her again for her flawless timing!  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
1108  Economy / Services / Re: [OFNT] [AOBT] The Alliance Of Bitcointalk Translators on: July 07, 2023, 12:01:29 PM
another interesting topic by fillippone was translated into polish by me a few days ago and can now be read and discussed by polish forum users:

original: There are 2^256 private keys out there: how big is that number?

It is, indeed, a very interesting topic. I decided to translate it after it got some attention, after nullius wrongfully attacked fillippone for the ideas expressed in that topic. Although nullius has a lot of expertise in cryptography, this attack to fillippone was certainly a wrong one... So this determined me in translating this topic then kindly asking him to add it also to the list of topics he wants to be translated in other languages.

it may be a good idea to add this one too to our list, don't you think?

I share same feeling here, for 2 reasons: (1) the topic contains a very interesting material; (2) having it translated in more languages would be another sign that the attack headed to fillippone should not have been made...

Also, this weekend I'll update the OP so we can officially welcome iwantmyhomepaidwithbtc2 Smiley

Yay!
1109  Other / Archival / Re: 🌀 [banned mixer] - CoinJoin Mixer | Your Anonymity Is Our Priority! on: July 07, 2023, 11:39:03 AM
Cloudflare DDoS makes the site very slow, and since you care about customer data and don't want Chainanalysis to collect data, doesn't using coinjoin with Cloudflare provide traceable privacy?

Why don't you use Tor version of the website?

If once can wait out for 4 or 6 hours to have their coins mixed, then waiting two block confirmations should be a problem.
I say 2 confirmations not 2 hours, just wondering because 1 confirmations needed (to avoid RBF) or 6 confirmations (to ensure it's impossible to double spend) so why two.

I guess they wanted to choose a number bigger than zero and small enough in order for the users to not complain. Perhaps, if they required 6 confirmation there would be questions about "why are 6 confirmations needed?". Same would have happened if they required 3 or, like in current case, 2 confirmations. It is what it is Smiley

Heading now to read the article as the current market of cryptos seems to be on a crossroad with price of Bitcoin trying to stabilize around 30k$ and that would be amazing as long as he can keep this position during the summer cycle. The title is also like a glove on the current market situation as the greed indicator is becoming bigger and bigger when there is not real motive for people to be greedy as Bitcoin doesn't seem to drop under 25k again or ever. ( my opinion ).

I shared my opinion about BTC price since last year. And since then I keep saying that I believe its price will constantly grow, on the long term, as halving is coming. Considering that on Jan 3rd or so the price was 15.000$ and now it is greater than 30.000 I guess we are on the right path. Probably the closer we get to halving the bigger the price will be. (Obviously, this is not a financial advice; it is only my opinion about BTC price in the future.)

How much is the fee for a $200 deal?

If you would have read the OP, you could observe that there is no fee Smiley
Although I feel there is no point, since you did not even care about reading the OP, I replied to your PM. By the way, there was no need to send me 3 PMs for asking same thing.

Following RickDeckard's initiative, I decided to translate this thread for Romanian board. The translated topic can be found here: [ANN] AgoraDesk.com | Cumpără ♻️ Vinde bitcoin anonim!.

I guess it would be nice if other users would also translate this thread for their local boards and also if OP would add these translations to the main topic.

What baffles me is the fact that, between September 2019 and April 2023 only 5 posts were made inside this topic. Since April this year, though, there are 4 pages of posts, which means that the project raised some interest. As a matter of fact I was talking recently to a friend and he also told me that he uses LocalMonero and AgoraDesk and that he is pleased by the services.

Cumpără bitcoin anonim

Pasul [1]

Când ești satisfăcut de alegere, apasă pe butonul "Agree to terms and start trading".

Pasul [4]

Two new translations have been added to OP:

Thank you again iwantmyhomepaidwithbtc2 for this great effort!

At same time, iwantmyhomepaidwithbtc2 reserved the French translation for all the the remaining available topics Oo

I am very impressed by this effort since, so far, only cygan acted like a 1-man-army in translating all my topics So all I can say, excepting the fact that I am very impressed, is that I thank you again and again iwantmyhomepaidwithbtc2 for your interest!

1119  Other / Meta / Re: Self-moderated topics - nice feature or should it get banned? on: July 04, 2023, 06:08:13 AM
I have read your OP and I feel you are suggesting it. The topic is nice feature or should it get banned?.

Reading OP's title does not mean "reading the OP". Furthermore you quote a question without even reading it entirely. The entire question is "Should the option of self-moderated topics get banned as alleged by Unknown01 (see below) or should the option of self-moderation continue to be possible? ".

In the end again on the pretext of asking a question you are suggesting it So, what's your opinion? Self-moderation to get banned or to stay? Stop suggesting and start questioning!

Where is the suggestion here? From "So, what's your opinion?" I understand that 1miau is asking a question, not making any suggestion. Are you blind or just sig-spamming?

I would not appreciate anyone coming on my self-moderated thread and start giving me advice about spam and lolololo. If you do not like it stay away from a self-moderated thread. There is enough spam happening on every board and thread that are not self-moderated. If you want to control every spam happening on any thread then just apply for a mod job here.

To whom are you addressing here?

1miau, you should ignore this sig-spammer, as all he does is trying to look smart now, after being caught by you that he did not even read your topic and hurried to post for reaching his signature quota.
