1421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If I had known on: January 20, 2023, 01:07:12 AM
Bitcoin is real money and is used around the world.
Bitcoin is a virtual currency, not physically real but provides real benefits. For now, it's more widely used as a speculative asset around the world if you look at global regulations.

It is very accessible, fast and easy to use.
That varies from person to person, so I'm not sure. Device, infrastructure, and environment dependent.

1422  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has an exchange ever blocked your Bitcoins from Signature earnings? on: January 19, 2023, 03:42:06 PM
As far as I recall, I used the exchange deposit address for every bitcoin I got from this forum and never had a problem though. I also haven't KYC yet.

Exchanges may block transactions from signature earnings on Bitcointalk because they are often associated with spam and manipulation. Many individuals participate in signature campaigns on the forum in order to earn small amounts of Bitcoin by posting on the forum with an advertisement for a specific project or service in their signature. Some people may abuse this system by creating multiple accounts and posting spam in order to earn more Bitcoin, which can negatively affect the reputation of the project or service being advertised.
I just realized that there is an exchange taking action against cheating behavior on bitcointalk. Btw, who usually reports it, and in what way?
1423  Other / Meta / Re: Know who ignores who on: January 19, 2023, 12:06:42 PM
Random thoughts when there is such a feature.
Every ignored user will probably have their own thread of drama on this board and slowly the board will lose its essence. Or yeah, other than the bounty board, it will be the second most ignored one.

I may also have to initiate a dispute with some active post reporters so they ignore me and reduce the likelihood that my post will be reported anymore. Roll Eyes
1424  Economy / Economics / Re: How much longer until paper money is no longer in circulation? on: January 19, 2023, 09:31:12 AM
Before it reaches the stage where paper money is completely gone, think that the government still has a number of public trust issues and debates just by announcing plans to launch a CBDC which is likely to remain in place for more than 5 years. Opposition everywhere especially from the crypto community prefers decentralization. So, the government should have a lot of time and strategy.

I'm not sure that Ublock origin can work on a smartphone, looks like it's built for PC users only so, which AdBlock is best for android phone users without getting the phone rooted or exploit because that's what my research is telling me, that ad blocker works better on a rooted android phone and I'm not ready to root mine.

No adblock for android is the most recommended so far for unrooted devices, just found adguard[1] (if you are willing to pay) which I think is at least what you asked for. While not open source, they do have a github page to track their development activity[2].

1426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs CBDC - Print your own stickers on: January 19, 2023, 06:37:47 AM
There are several target groups for this campaign,
  • pro government: they'll of course be the first to accept.
  • don't care: don't support and don't reject, but have their own choice.
  • do not know at all: they don't understand anything, only obey the policies (ordinary people).
So, let me be in the "don't care" group. In the end (said pessimistically) because of the policy, CBDC will be implemented and replace the existing circulation of physical money. Bitcoin will forever be the alternative means of payment (WP-according), and with all modifications, fiat will remain the primary means of payment.

Good luck with this campaign.
1427  Economy / Speculation / Re: I think Bottom is gone on: January 19, 2023, 01:06:14 AM
Bitcoin is again churning out support on the 1-hour time frame, I hope it doesn't actually get broken this time on a minus -3% overnight crash given this is not strong support (only formed in the last few days) or bitcoin has to hit bottom again which is very dull.
1428  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] SINBAD MIXER Signature Campaign. Signature set from contest on: January 18, 2023, 10:51:00 PM
It should be noted that the legendary version of the signature on smaller screens/windows is not displayed properly.
Same thing with signature for Sr. Member on smaller screens.
I actually thought this was a problem with my browser but now that you guys have mentioned it anybody found a way around the issue over the sigs, btw on PC these do display just fine..

The default sig. space is 1070px width, and Sinbad's sig. design for sr. is 950px width, legend is 1027px width. When you use a smaller window screen, it will also reduce the width of the sig. space and display jumbled signatures as shown if it doesn't reach at least the width of each sig. design (950px or 1027px).

It's not sig. code error. Cool
1429  Economy / Economics / Re: Brace yourselves, CBDCs one Step Closer on: January 18, 2023, 04:52:13 PM
Ten years ago, I said that it would take 10 years for governments start adopting CBDCs.

Is it really running? Implementing the first time is akin to risking fiat existence (security, reputation, affordability). It shouldn't get a single failure at the start or else the whole system will crash including the old one. I don't think their trial phase will be finished for another 10 years especially if people's need or interest is still more for physical money.
1430  Economy / Economics / Re: Another Boom for the crypto market. on: January 18, 2023, 03:18:06 PM
Binance has been being regulatory compliant all along so it makes me think what's the boost here.

This time it was also not a compulsion but binance's own initiative.
Binance has indeed won many success stories when lobbying for many financial development programs in several countries. As far as they operate the most worldwide, they seem to be the first crypto company to gain the trust of the government. Last time I heard they were working with the government to build an exclusive bitcoin-friendly area called "bitcoin island" (iirc) in a country in southeast asia (I forget which country).
1431  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Email received from Binance, Matter of concern ? on: January 18, 2023, 03:01:27 PM
Will Binance also warn about funds coming from casinos?
It may happen someday if binance does try to adapt the terms of use to specific regulations (or vice versa, enforce them), especially when these notifications will come to users from countries where gambling is prohibited.
Bear in mind that binance has experienced some regulatory pressure and sanctions in the past.
1432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin helps the economy of all circles on: January 18, 2023, 11:20:59 AM
I think this opportunity is exclusive, no matter what circle you come from. And it's time to stop assuming that bitcoin only supports one's economy from its volatility. Bitcoin is a means of payment, not an investment instrument.
Yep, I was helped by bitcoin with some unusual job opportunities I got from around, luckily I had the will to learn more about it.

1434  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcointalk is mafia on: January 17, 2023, 10:16:04 AM
I am curious how much you believe in each other and in whom you will entrust your money?!

I don't trust anyone, doesn't mean I close the opportunity to do business with random guys. Just see the procedure, is it safe enough for me.

I invite you to discuss what happened to 4 Bitcoins from here:
I checked the project being promoted which indicated a scam[1], but several participants confirmed that they received the payment with the terms (see after this post)[2] and returned the rest[3], what's the problem?
Sorry I wasn't here that year, could you be more specific which one you wanna address on this topic? scam case or 4 btc that escrowed?

I mean this guy should have at least 2 wallet one for hot daily purposes and 1 cold to keep their thousand dollar nft s
What if $1k isn't a big deal for them? Speaking of influencers is a tens of thousands of dollars in one click business, $1k nft collections are part of the small amount they are likely to trade on a daily basis. Maybe this reason is not enough to make them have cold wallets for their collection, until valuable lessons like hacking them experience first.
1436  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ravebitc.com legit or not on: January 17, 2023, 12:56:56 AM
It's a classic style scam, they will keep increasing your first deposit request until your money is drained out.
Let's go to the "about us" page[1], mentioned that:

1437  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Influencers, affiliate links and scams on: January 17, 2023, 12:44:20 AM
Celebrities are only good at representing, if they wanna be paid then follow the instructions. Yep, we know that they have limited knowledge in this field, but is it entirely their fault? What if they're also part of the victim?
I believe that many seasoned millionaires (not influencers) have also fallen for the scams of these companies.
1438  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Argentina to Pressure Citizens on Declaring Their Crypto on: January 17, 2023, 12:32:45 AM
The 1.5% to 2.5% tax rate isn't too pressing to sustain the assumption that this is just a "voluntary" statement on Argentines. But never know what the next government plans regarding taxes if all residents have declared their assets.

At which value of bitcoin / crypto the tax will be calculated? Suppose a person bought bitcoin at 50,000$ and now it's worth 20,000$, so he will pay tax according to the current price?
If they follow the current Argentinian tax rules where crypto is still grouped under the property category in general, "The losses arising from transactions with digital currencies are considered ''special losses'' and cannot be offset against income from any other source."[1]. So, what I understand, losses (after realized) won't be taxed.

1439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paper wallet for BTC used to be the best on: January 15, 2023, 01:48:10 PM
Paper wallet is store phrase offline by default, but it is very risky to literally mean "paper wallet" using paper media. You should consider other media that are more resistant to damage.
To be honest, I'm not really sure about this method anymore when imagining the surroundings, OP you should think about this too.
1440  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Btgg666 Exchange Experiences on: January 15, 2023, 01:33:52 PM
Looks like the scammer has run out of reserves of rather premium domain names. It's outrageous for someone to still believe in a platform with a hard to pronounce domain name.

But sincerely OP, with all the good and well-built exchanges out there, why would you choose to use a site poorly built like this?
Assuming the OP is a newbie who mostly believes that $100k can easily be had in this space, then it's not a new story.
