1021  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: "Trustless Computer" on Bitcoin? Information/opinions? on: May 18, 2023, 01:29:49 PM
Just skimming a few featured dapps, the question is do they actually run on the bitcoin blockchain? Every time I click "connect wallet" almost all the dapps just ask for the metamask knowing it supports EVM multi-chain. And check out their explore page too https://explorer.trustless.computer

I don't know if I welcomed the BRC20 so badly that I didn't learn more about how it works.
1022  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is ItsCrafty a bought account? on: May 18, 2023, 12:28:51 PM
He was create a thread and he mentioned if he lost access to his account crafty on 2017 and when I verify the message, it's valid.

~
But crafty's active until 2022 and I don't see anything password or email change. crafty's claimed he's from US, he posted it on 2018, while ItsCrafty is from Pakistan.

But the claim isnt valid, ItsCrafty signs the message using an address that Crafty never used. And twitter account is certainly not strong enough for account recovery.
Just making light guesses, ItsCrafty was indeed created by the user behind Crafty and then either hand-transferred or hacked (but didn't bother restoring it) because it's only an alternate or temporary account.

Quote
Let's assuming his account was changed hands, some users will say there's no problem about it since the account don't have any positive feedback and he just want to make money in this forum. If he's not found cheated a campaign, I think we can let alone him.
If with reasonable evidence he is suspected of trying to recover an account that isn't really his, then that's a violation.
1023  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2.4% People from Bangladesh Hold Cryptocurrency on: May 18, 2023, 12:02:08 PM
Bangladesh is one the countries where using Bitcoin is declared illegal by the government. But this number/stats say something we are going to get in the very near future. There was a discussion regarding cryptocurrency between some employees from Bangladesh Bank. They were hinting Bangladesh may legalize Crypto within 2/3 years. Maybe finally, it's happening.
It's necessary to look at the statistics up to the previous years whether this figure is a significant or reasonable growth every year. If the government doesn't see this as a threat, then I don't think legality will materialize so quickly.
Besides that, the local government is still trying hard to find an alternative to crypto (CBDC) since 2020[1] even though they are in turn implementing blockchain technology which has been trialled by local banks. It seems they will be selective towards some "controllable" cryptocurrencies at some point if they legalize crypto.

1024  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Wearing Double signature (Shan85) on: May 17, 2023, 05:11:54 PM
I guess yes because I've active in this forum for a year and never saw this cheat before.
This is new case for bitcoin paid campaign category. In the past I may encounter this kind of underhanded behavior in the token paid bounty category, especially if the manager accepts excessive participant capacity.

And I think that this time greed really overshadowed stupidity.
1025  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we headed to a nowhere economic direction ? on: May 17, 2023, 05:00:18 PM
Real estate is collapsing and even the rich people have no options to invest.

If someone can think of an investment plan in the middle of a recession, it means that he is able to maintain a stable financial condition, while in the midst of a "collapse" the real estate business is a good investment opportunity to start in that sector. Why "no choice"? Unless you state where you're from, some countries are simply not suitable for real estate business in various global economic situations.
1026  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Seizing Bitcoins Despite Having your Own Private Key. How this Work? on: May 17, 2023, 04:22:00 PM
Certainly I have read stories of the US Governments seizing bitcoins suspected to have been used for criminal activities.
When you're ordered under duress (any threat) to reveal your private key or to force-send your bitcoins, you have only 2 choices: you do it and you're (likely) free from threats, or let it remain secret but you accept the consequences (the threat will be realized) .

Quote
I would be happy if someone explains how this actually works since it is contradicts my first statement of an individual being free from censorship when they have control of their private keys.
You misunderstood the meaning of "free from censorship", that means when you make an onchain transaction, nothing will prevent or block the transfer of bitcoins, it will still arrive at the destination address.
1027  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The World's First Kids Cartoon about Bitcoin on: May 16, 2023, 10:54:25 AM
Thanks for sharing, I'll have to watch it later.
Non-profit or not, this effort is commendable as it will somehow contribute to the financial consciousness of the younger generation before it brings entertainment itself. I hope there will be more multilingual support if the creators want this film to reach more children around the world.
1028  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you spend more-do you get more? on: May 16, 2023, 09:56:39 AM
Who really faced big expenses and received even more? How does it work, maybe I don't understand the essence of it correctly?

It's not always about a lot of spending, a lot of returns especially when you talk quality. Wealthy people spend a lot of money just to get 1 branded item, or ordinary people can buy several more varied items of ordinary quality with the same purchase value. In essence, depending on your level of satisfaction about the quality of goods or quality of life.
So which approach have you taken?
1029  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: A Mail I Received Today.. on: May 16, 2023, 09:42:10 AM
This bill I also received last year [1], and I think mine is more surprising because the sender is paypal itself (this is why I bothered to open it, maybe not if it's from a random address).
Luckily so far nothing has happened.

I almost lost some USDT to the wallet upgrade today.
About the change of deposit address, I noticed they gave early notifications (about 1 month earlier) to the user's email directly, I got this kind of email even though I haven't traded there for a long time. I think you should make sure whether you've marked their notification as spam or not.

As a side note, the TRX coin (and all supporting tokens) will expire on June 1.
1031  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Willing my bitcoin to my children on: May 16, 2023, 08:56:30 AM
bitcoin is not a property which your children can inherits like other properties that is mark able,
Bitcoins can be inherited by several technical means [1][2], get an attorney as is common inheritance, or combine the two methods if certain conditions aren't possible.

I can't force them to learn and understand bitcoin, but when I'm no more the will know the important of knowing the basic of bitcoin,  but I'm not planning to die now, but we don't what tomorrow will result out in the future.
In some financial situations one day it can make them learn the basics of bitcoin, like it or not. Apart from that, inheriting bitcoins also includes inheriting wealth when considering its current value.

1032  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: AntiDolos extortion/scam on: May 15, 2023, 03:24:27 PM
Some of my questions:
  • Was the offer of $1k valid (assuming only a friendly offer, no extortion at all)?
  • (if you answered yes to the question above) In the title of the published article[1]  of course this sounds bad for readers in general, but is it okay for you to still offer marketing services to projects that you mark yourself as a risk?
  • What will you do if BKS hires marketing services, I mean will you still publish the same article[1] on your site? Or will you speak differently elsewhere?

    1. https://antidolos.com/backstage-bks-blockchain-is-a-high-potential-on-the-downslide/
This is common at ALL rating sites.
Be focused on your service please, I'm not talking about other services.

You pay and your article is displayed on the front page or your banner is published.
I mean the content of the review, I don't care if you stick it on your windshield. So will it be the same or not?

Quote
Since 2020, we NEVER changed articles except for valid updates or bug fixes that officially announced. Even if they pay $10K, the article will NOT change if they don't fix issues.
If you pay, we'll share the article on socials & put their banner on the first page.[/size]
$1k will be billed before the article is published right? You previously prepared a draft and showed it to the project team and it won't be found archived.
1033  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2024 halving less than 1 year away on: May 15, 2023, 11:39:49 AM
I realise when the bull market takes off will also be dependant on price action, for example if there is another black swan event at the start of 2024 then this could result in a delay like in 2020. But otherwise do you generally the bull market will start before or after the halving, or otherwise more or less immediately after the halving, and do you think there will be any other relevant factors other than the halving?
ATH every halving is better to experience delays for months even if it's close to the next halving with several factors such as consolidation, crashes, etc. Back I will bring the reason:
meaning that bitcoin has a 4-year opportunity to aim for a new high and during that time one doesn't stop hoping for some fundamental factors that can support reaching ATH.

Although it has been proven in several halving events, ATH is still a possibility. So just hope that the next time, bitcoin again doesn't disappoint.
1034  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin IS an asset. Do you think it's bad? on: May 15, 2023, 11:10:55 AM
I don't want to say that it's bad, it's just surprising me. I created a thread where I asked if people think that Bitcoin will become stable enough to become a new currency cos I thought it was the whole idea, but everyone was telling me that it will always fluctuate and it's just a method to earn money.

Fluctuate but very liquid. If you set up a business with bitcoin then you can reduce the effect of its fluctuations by several methods including instant exchange to fiat. But I'm not gonna argue that the awareness of newcomers in this space is not based on the technological benefits that bitcoin brings, only the volatility that is exciting enough to make money.
1035  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Coinomi wallet hacked, all funds stolen on: May 15, 2023, 10:12:56 AM
I thought the same thing had happened to my eth in my coinomi wallet but resetting the app cache and restarting then loading the eth coin restored it.
It is impossible to recover crypto sent to an address other than yours, or you actually wanna say that the balance is just not reflected correctly so your case is different from the OP's.
But in essence, you're not recommended to keep using the Coinomi wallet if you read some of the facts above.

We are still accepting reviews, your honest reviews will be appreciated and will be rewarded.

@joeperry, OP's and some of reviews images don't display well as imgur seems to be having issues lately[1]. You should consider using another image hosting like imgbb, and it's better to add a recommendation too for the next review participant on this matter.

1037  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [Tips] Bagaimana Saya Aman Pakai Wallet Bitcoin Selama 5 Tahun Ini on: May 14, 2023, 11:18:37 AM
Karena saya sering bepergian. Jadi saya pakai electrum versi android. Tapi menurut om-om sekalian aman tidak sih yang versi android tersebut?. Apakah ada yang pernah mengalami pengalaman buruk terkait Electrum versi Android?
Apakah agan sering bertransaksi?
1038  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchange Withdrawal Fee manipulation on: May 14, 2023, 10:56:19 AM
Still, this isn't a new opinion due to the fact that the practice of charging withdrawal fees 5 to 10 times than onchain fees seems to have become commonplace even by developing exchanges. It's worth noting that the exchange also takes deposit sweep fees out of that withdrawal fee as well, although I don't know if they also have a way to save fees like batch sending.
1039  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is it time for Old Signature campaigns to redesign? on: May 14, 2023, 07:44:10 AM

Regarding the browser compatibility, it's been always the main issue since the first time sig design launched. We signature designers are still figuring out the best way until now to make it compatible, but there are some dilemmas on it. If you want to make the sig design more attractive, then you have to remove some parts so the space could be used on its styling. In otherwise, if the project owners want to put the contents as many as possible, then it forces us to ignore the style aspect and focus more on putting the contents. Then when you want it mobile-friendly, you have to reduce both of the contents and the stylings, so everything could be fit on the mobile screen. The problem is, how to make the sig design looks good on both of mobile and desktop, but with many contents and info on it, yet still looks beautiful.
I'm sure you have represented the hidden feelings of all designers in this forum. It is indeed a difficult situation where companies have to provide the best advertising graphic presentation to the community from the appearance of all the devices they use, while there are some limitations that may not all designer clients know or don't care about that require us to make their requests possible.
1040  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Internet is one limitation of bitcoin on: May 14, 2023, 07:24:36 AM
I am facing a real world issue that prevents me from using Bitcoin.

I live in Pakistan and for last three days cellular internet service all across the country is suspended because of prevailing law and order situation. Internet is working on fixed line connection that is reaching homes. So there is still some connectivity available.

If government shut down internet service even on fixed line connection then there will be complete internet blackout in the country and in that situation we cant use bitcoin.

I think this is also one of limitation of bitcoin that we need internet to use it.
It was only 3 days, not a problem for basically alternative entity use. The intensity of using bitcoin for micro-transactions is still very low especially in developing countries. That doesn't mean you can't pay for something with your local currency at the same time.

Speaking of the internet, the longer an infrastructure is used in all sectors of the country, the higher the level of need, including the internet that must exist to keep up with the era of high accessibility. So I don't believe even the government itself can survive without the internet
