1281  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcointalk, we have a new member of the forum administration on: February 27, 2023, 02:10:56 PM
What the problem?

What makes you restless?
Just delete your trust score manually, don't you have that access rights, dear admin?  Roll Eyes
1282  Other / Meta / Re: The curious functionality of "Report To Admin" button from inside PMs on: February 27, 2023, 04:57:05 AM
What's the point of having the option of sending PM reports to only one specific admin or all? Does each admin have their own personal space to handle PM reports. Is this related to privacy?

It seems everyone prefers "send to all forum admins" for a quicker handle. Or there are certain cases that I don't know where I've to choose one. Huh
1283  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need to better understand what market cap means on: February 27, 2023, 04:25:29 AM
Hi again, I need a confirmation please.

let's say a project has a total supply of 1 000 000 000 tokens.
there's a public sale, and 6 000 000 tokens are sold at a price of 0.04$
So the total market cap for the public sale is 240 000$.
Yes,

Quote
Let's say that, the token has now a price of 0.002$
can we infer from this that , as the price of the token has been divided by 20, it means that the amount of money in the project
has been more or less divided by 20, and that there is currently only 240000/20 = 12000$ left in the project ?

Thanks
Yes, but it only reflects the total capital of 6 000 000 tokens even though there are eg 500 000 000 in circulation.
Again, the market cap doesm't cover all the total supply, but is based on tokens in circulation after going through the trading process. Because that's the only way a token gets a value (price) which is then calculated by price tracker sites.
1284  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Cryptocurrency Law in Bangladesh on: February 27, 2023, 04:03:59 AM
The latter part of what the Bangladesh said;
No legal authority in the world permits such trading, Bangladesh Bank said.

We all know that there are countries that have permitted it and that's why there are exchanges existing and keeps on operating helping users like us to convert and trade our cryptos to cash and vice versa.

A small portion of market cap is contributed from the Bangladesh currency, currently ranked 109th (8,415 BTC)[1] out of 116 contributing countries. If one assumes these statistics actually reflect the current state of affairs, then there are a number of "illegal transactions" involving more than 8k BTC made by Bangladeshis. This means that there is a loophole in the bitcoin trading ban.

1285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There is no way to know unless I ask on: February 27, 2023, 12:59:25 AM
There may be but it would be that as Binance SAFU works, you've to keep the bitcoins in the insurance company's wallet. Afaik, it's only offered by exchange industries[1] that are known to risk more the trust of millions of users. And there's no separate company dedicated to serving crypto insurance, let alone letting you hold your bitcoins in a private wallet.

1286  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need to better understand what market cap means on: February 26, 2023, 02:34:23 PM
For instance, if 10 fraudulent people launch a new token. Token price is 1$, 10000 tokens are available to be purchased, which is 1% of the supply.
They buy 10000$ overall.
Then, they artificially increase their market cap by releasing the tokens that were locked. The price can only increase because they won't sell their tokens, and new people may buy the tokens, .
If they release, let's say 50¨% of the overall supply, that will be 500 000 tokens available, with a marketcap price of at least 500 000$, right?

The status of the "locked" token can actually be validated on the smartcontract whether the code is as it should. So tokens won't be easily unlocked at will the developer just to disrupt their tokenomic.

Suppose you set a 5 -year locking period on your smartcontract, then the market tracker refers to the indication (after the contract code is validated). The token will remain locked, the market cap will only be re-adjusted according to the current token circulating after reaching the unlock date on the smartcontract.
1287  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: how much the budget on: February 26, 2023, 09:16:54 AM
Including routine maintenance costs? I think the costs will be determined according to the demand for customization, complexity, features, or other things. And also the developer portfolio also affects the costs offered, if you want to be cheaper then hire novice developers.

i will add more service to my business.
You actually need permanent developers in this matter.
1288  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: African government against or for crypto?? on: February 26, 2023, 08:58:49 AM
What do you think about the African nations who aren't allowed to use Bitcoin? Do they merit these reprimands?
No party will reprimand, no institution or union of any country's finances that intervene in a country about Bitcoin's recommendations so far except on the contrary.

Quote
If you are in Africa, what is your countries contributions in the crypto market? Huh
I don't think that using crypto in the countries that prohibit it is a form of contribution. So your choice is not to use it at all if you're a citizen who obeys law.
Also my country isn't part of Africa, your question is a bit ambiguous.
1289  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and education on: February 26, 2023, 02:38:40 AM
They constantly say education is the key to success but in my country today many graduates don't have a job,
Unfortunately it is also found in my country. Most young people still have the notion that the field of government is a career that will at least guarantee until old age.

Back to the question, education is more important if you take it seriously (both formal and non-formal education). The provision for making money is whatever knowledge or ability you get from that education period which is then developed along with real life situations.
1290  Economy / Speculation / Re: The BTC deep continues for the next SIX Months. on: February 26, 2023, 01:40:58 AM
BBC market news shows that the number of people trading bitcoin in 2020-2023 has drastically reduced compared to 2013-2015 figures

People are becoming more and more aware of "your keys your coins" after the collapse of some centralized services.
Here are some charts[1] that show:

Bitcoin holdings by centralized exchanges are on
the decline.
⠀⠀
Massive withdrawals at the time of the collapse of
Terra UST (around May) and FTX alongside Blockfi's
bankruptcy (in November).

1291  Economy / Economics / Re: Rules of Taxes on: February 25, 2023, 06:30:16 AM
And you must also be from Indonesia right? because you understand a little what I mean.
Yes, it is me.

Quote
is this fair for the tax rules?
Idk the exact calculation, but I think it's fair considering the type of income both of them have. Farmers are more volatility earners, their earnings figures are "likely" but not "always". Especially in certain seasons, they even earn minus.
On the implementation side, most of the farmers in our country lack administrative awareness, which means that taxation hasn't been fully effective in reaching actors in this sector. The profession of farming is involved in the older generation with low educational background.
1292  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Awareness and Redemption on: February 25, 2023, 06:06:37 AM
It's time for you to make yourself better secretly with more extensive knowledge than your friends, then one day you'll start thinking of more effective ways to make money in this space. I'dn't be against you hunting for small income on that part, it's mostly from my past forum activity through someone else's information as well. But at least with this new knowledge you'll be more selective about joining bounties and finding gems from thousands of shit projects.
1293  Economy / Economics / Re: Rules of Taxes on: February 24, 2023, 10:54:12 AM
Let's say a farmer in 1 harvest (3-4 month) earns $2000, he will remain tax free if not registered or he doesn't register it
You're from Indonesia right? That doesn't mean they're exempt from taxes, the law provides for that with some sanctions. It's just that sanctions aren't properly implemented, especially for the general public (non-civil servants).
For those who are trying to be registered as a taxpayer, they may have administrative interests where a tax card is one of the requirements.
1294  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance's 98% Dominance: Should We Be Worried? on: February 24, 2023, 10:05:02 AM
there's certainly reason why binance could have such massive dominance that is because they are trusted and transparent enough that they'd get that much customers flocking over their platform.

It's possible they achieved bitcoin volume dominance currently, but not with their percentage which I think is exaggerated after some hesitation that some members pointed out on pages 1-2. To measure the statistical accuracy of a platform, of course, it must involve various sources that have no relationships, interests, or even competing platforms.

Don't assume that a big company like Binance can't do crazy competitive efforts either. Hence, "don't trust, verify".
1295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can Bitcoin afford to buy on: February 24, 2023, 08:33:12 AM
So i want to ask this question generally so that i will have more insight of what bitcoin can buy using Bitcoin without converting to fiat currency before making purchase.

In El Salvador, you can even buy a private island. In my country, you can't buy anything except local cash.

Given that the legality of bitcoin is not governed by a single rule, you should change the question, "is bitcoin legal for payment in your country?". Everyone's answers will represent the legal conditions of their respective countries. If it were legalized, then it wouldn't restrict you from buying anything if you were in that country.
1296  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Little but expensive mistakes beginners make. on: February 24, 2023, 08:19:02 AM
What can also be those little but expensive mistakes beginners make that you know?

That's gonna be a long list.
Can you at least be more specific as to what you'd call a "newbie", as a crypto user or forum user? The only serious mistake for forum users is plagiarism (not limited to newbies). On the other hand, everyone has a list of minor mistakes in their crypto activities that started with a few trifles.
1297  Economy / Economics / Re: Precisely or erroneous on: February 23, 2023, 07:33:56 AM
because to me is a total waist because it's not giving me any profits.

Yes but it also doesn't offer a loss rate as big as bitcoin volatility. The question shouldn't be "Precisely or erroneous", but whether you're ready or not for the worst case scenario. Because you're here expecting a profit, as long as you hold on to these funds as much as possible to reduce the desire to spend them before your profit target is achieved.
1298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good to accept crypto as a payment? on: February 23, 2023, 07:12:05 AM
So I had to stop so that I don't wind up in jail for illegal use of crypto.

I've never heard of a case where ordinary trading using bitcoin in a country where it is prohibited will be punished with imprisonment at the first sanction. In my country, there will be sequential legal action for violators: reprimand, termination of activity, revocation of license, and then fine or imprisonment[1].

Unless it literally constitutes trading for "illegal" purposes, administrative sanctions probably won't be awarded in the 1st place.

1299  Economy / Economics / Re: How to spend money determines whether you can avoid unnecessary problems on: February 23, 2023, 05:35:38 AM
As a long time licensed financial advisor I can attest that you are correct, people in that "middle" area do complain a lot about their finances and not having enough money for this or that but as you perfectly stated,

Or is the OP story identical to someone who is unable to control himself as if he has a luxurious life just to show it off on social media even though they're actually at an average economic level? If I'm not mistaken this is a new type of syndrome in the context of psychology, "flexing". In the end it will become a habit that is no longer measurable and only certain people, such as those closest to them, know the real situation that they're complaining about.
1300  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX Japan resumes fiat and crypto withdrawals today on: February 23, 2023, 04:44:16 AM
I understand they might have been regulated there, but are they Am now interested to learn more of how crypto businesses survive, and from the sound of this, did you just describe an authoritarian govt Roll Eyes of which I believe Japan isn't...
Japan has learned a lot from its dark experience with MTgox. It seems their rules apply to all crypto industries that wanna do business in that country. If the Japanese market has a large enough revenue contribution, no matter how strict the rules don't reduce the company's interest in doing business in a healthy manner and usually it will be sustainable.
