2181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does it exist a bitcoin wallet with 2FA? on: October 27, 2014, 12:12:35 AM
Even better, the Trezor uses air gapped offline security. That should become the standard for Bitcoin.
2182  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 27, 2014, 12:04:45 AM
IIRC, @MagicMexican invented Dinosaur Analysis (DA).  Was that one by him or by @cbeast?

I didn't claim anything. That was just a pic from the old archives. Are we supposed to reference every meme's origin now?
2183  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis never ends on: October 26, 2014, 06:55:04 PM
Weaker hands than the guy who sells 30k BTC at the bottom of a downtrend on one exchange via a single ask? I can't even imagine those hands, they must be long dead. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
Wouldn't it be something if it was found out to be a self running bot created by someone who died? It would be a dump routine if no input is made, it finds a price and dumps. It might be safer than leaving the account in a will.
2184  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 26, 2014, 06:47:25 PM
...Mainstream use of phone started like that yes.... phone technology did not. There was lots of work in infrastructure first, what we now see in bitcoinland. I'm sure with bitcoin it won't take many decades, don"t you think?

Allright, Bitcoin is more useful than the telephone.  And the people who got the first phones, the early adopter visionaries, all got filthy rich.
You are either really bad at analogies or really good at creating false analogies.
2185  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predicting Flash crashes (solution found?) on: October 26, 2014, 05:58:30 PM
You are right and wrong. Blockchain analysis could be helpful but someone with lots of coins/fiat on exchange could massively move the price and because it is 'off chain' not leave a blockchain imprint.

If bitcoin days destroyed rockets upwards, if there are documented cases of huge numbers of coins moving to or from an exchange then perhaps something is afoot and you could predict a major market move. But it is not a perfect science.
Markets don't use the blockchain. Watching bitcoin days destroyed or large transactions has no corellation to markets. You can only corellate them after the fact, but nobody has ever researched this to conclude any probability of that phenomenon. It's right up there with "The Weekend Dip." It's just magical thinking. You can massively move the market without ever even having a Bitcoin wallet and I suspect that's a lot of what is going on.

Wall Observer
A free service brought to you by the bitcoin community

Whenever there is a significant change in market depth, please update this thread with a new depth chart, and a good price chart with some TA is also welcome, feel free to comment on these if you have something to worth contributing, ( if your post is not at all TA it will be deleted )

Posting guild lines:
Please lets keep this thread clean. ( I will be removing any off topic posts )
Do not post random comments on this thread, unless it is directly related to the last wall update (ex. The 20K ask was was NOT sold into, it was removed after being tested)
 When you post a chart please use bitcoincharts.com, mtgoxlive.com, btccharts.com or bitcoinity.com

as requested, i have started a new thread.
this thread is now a self-moderated topic.
I will try and keep this thread clean, with only facts, current trends, past price movements, depth charts, etc.
I promise to not delete post simply because i do not agree with the bearish TA.

thank you for your input!

Quote
We needed more regulation around this bitch.

the rules of this thread is an attempt to keep this thread from having +1000 post when price is doing big moves, and instead relay important indicators during critical moments.
also when the market is more calm we can expect to see wall posts and TA price charts, back to back without any relevant chatting, making easier to analyze.
there are other threads where speculators can discuss their sentiment, just not here...

That 1000+ page thread was getting kinda useless.

How about bitcoinium.com pics? I can never get mtgoxlive to load Undecided

thats fine too,
I'm looking for quality charts or good TA bearish or bullish.

asking good questions example....

Interesting pattern I've noticed. It's been sort of bouncing downwards for the last 4 days. Is there a technical term for this sort of thing?

is also welcome here.

just don't be posting about your "FEELINGS" and you won't get delete.  Tongue

in 32 Hours the price according to my sources will be $377   (+/- 5) Cool

yea, your only "source" is being too much invested and shitting your pants because of that....pathetic.

Promise me you will re-quote this at 01:00am ( GMT - UTC) in the early hours of Monday morning.

Promise, Ha ? I don't forget things really easy and I have allot of " I told you so" ammo, I am preparing it for many bull-tards here, so don't worry.

Cup and handle forming on many exchanges.

Nicely on target for 1am UK time (clocks go back tonight in the UK) for the 377 target.

There will be some swings after we hit it. but they will be relatively small from here.  We are going up from now on.  After we hit the peak, we will trend sideways with slow but fairly steady growth. Some swings to keep the traders happy.

Yesterday I said we will never hit 330 ever again.  Today I will say that when we hit approx 377. then I doubt we will ever see sub $350 again.

If you are shorting, consider closing and taking the hit.

$275 was the bottom 23.6% of peak ($1163).
same as $62 (23.8%) was the bottom of the April 2013 peak  ($260).

You don't have to have trust in what I predict.  But don't discount it.

EDIT:  Cup and handle complete on some exchanges...

Still not buying it, when the 1W chart show a clear sign of reversal, only then I will buy back, and I don't care if the price will be $500 by then, because I will be sure that it is a clear sign of a reversal.

you can throw your mambo-jambo reversal shit on me now, but I don't give a shit until I see it.

The shorts turned themselves into a target. It isn't pure TA. It's... the shorts got carried away and are going to get burnt now. The question is whether the burn is slow or fast.
2189  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-10-25] Bitcoin future in UAE uncertain due to lack of regulation on: October 26, 2014, 08:56:37 AM
The only place I care less about than New York adopting Bitcoin. I guess they'll just have to keep using cheap Filipino labor to carry their bags of gold around.

yawn

nothing but weekend boringness.

Nothing gonna happen today
Are you kidding? The next 24 hours are critical!
2191  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: October 26, 2014, 06:14:02 AM
Pegged SCs can increase BTC TPS 5 fold just by using the sendmany function. Then the SC can then use SSS magic to subdivide the bitcoins into smaller denomination SC coins but still be pegged to Bitcoin. Then all they need to do is build a faster cheaper blockchain.

What is TPS and SSS?
Transactions per second and Shamir's Secret Sauce (Sharing)
Thanks
And what is Shamir's Secret Sauce (Sharing)? - I'm not familiar with any names in the SC propaganda campaign except for Andreas Antonopoulos.
Shamir's Secret Sharing (and its derivatives) is a basic cryptology method that multi-signature transactions and dark wallets use. Besides, I'm conjecturing about what SC may become, not as it is currently proposed, which has minimal information available. All I'm saying is that SCs can enhance Bitcoin kind of like building a stock car into a racing machine.

I hear he made 10% when it went to 676 since he bought at 600.

Only if he sell at 676.I take it that the guy was holding as he stated that he wants to be a millionaire .
All this American Bashing thinking they all want to be millionaires. Such bigotry. He said BILLIONAIRE! Get it straight, man! He dumped it and went full Doge.

Hello, guys, WAKE UP!

The OP mocrotasje opened this thread on 7th September, and did not reply even once since.
He left you all talking to yourselves, while laughing at you Smiley

The poor guy had an accident. Why are you so cruel to him?  Cry
2199  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: October 26, 2014, 02:59:02 AM
How long before Trezor ICs are available for the public?  Wink

what is Trezor ICs ?
Just a figment of my imagination. IC stands for Integrated Circuit or computer chip. It's basically the notion of a miniaturized Trezor to be integrated into other electronics. It may happen someday.

Wasn't coinkite doing something like this for servers to hold cold storage?
Bitcoin ICs would require a manual switch because the unique idea behind it is to be air-gapped. Anything electronically controlled could be hacked, so you might as well just use software.
2200  Economy / Economics / Re: Will there ever be another crypto boom similar to BTC in my lifetime? on: October 26, 2014, 02:45:27 AM
Probably the next boom for Bitcoin will be when Trezor is bought by Sony to develop Bitcoin ICs for cameras, smartphones, and other high end appliances to timestamp automatically on the blockchain.

is a trezor worth buying now? I have read some people love it and it works great but others have issues. Should I wait until they work the bugs out?
I don't have a use for it. It's current configuration is just a proof of concept without much real world utility, and a collectible. It's enough to show the world that the protocol is real and can lead to a manufacturing boom.
