10941  Economy / Economics / Re: Cyprus lifts all capital controls on: April 09, 2015, 01:58:47 PM
So, its true that Cyprus sits on big gas and oil resources? The European Union has declined a parliamentarian request that Cryprus has noteworthy gas resources during the bail out discussions some time ago. They stated that it is not clear to which country the known resources belong. There are some countries which claim the resources including Turkey, Israel, Cryprus and even Lebanon.

Small money is o.k here, anything under 100k after that I would diversify my assets anyway if I had that much, not keep millions in a bank account. What is a good investment here is to buy agricultural land when the Gas boom comes in the next 4-5 years One could roi nicely from some land plots.  Smiley

Is there a statistic somewhere to see how many stakes haven't been claimed by their owners yet? It would be interesting how many XEM are currently not in "circulation".

haha, I actually love this quote from Waren Buffet but translating it into Doge language makes it more serious and convincingly;D

So did I with most of my litecoins and some other alts. For me, BTCD is the most promising 1.0 coin out there at the moment.

There's really nice support building on Bittrex atm! Things are looking up in the BTCD sphere; I'm excited to see how things progress..... Smiley

NWweight:173,961

Converted most XMR and DASH I had to BTCD.  If devs make it, BTCD gonna make them look like toys.

10946  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: April 09, 2015, 12:07:05 PM
Wow, this sounds really cool. Seems Nxt settles another unique feature in the crypto world.

Wondering if Nxt 1.5 will have multisign on board? I remember that it was planned for version 1.5.

1.5 will have two phased transactions, which is Nxt's new and improved version of multisig.

It not only makes a transaction that only goes through if the correct amount of people sign off on it.
But it also allows you to create transactions that depend on the results of a poll.
As well as a transaction that only goes through if a hash is revealed (P2H)
As well as a transaction that only goes through if another transaction also is accepted (Atomic on chain transactions)

So 1.5 should be very cool, and 1.5.0e is being tested on the public testnet right now.

I like your site and I often use it to get information about coins. But you should really work on the user experience and design matters. It is really old style and not pretty user friendly. Hope to see some UI improvements near future  Wink
10948  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wont open on desktop on: April 09, 2015, 12:20:40 AM
You uninstalled the software. But have you also removed the folder/file at this location 'C: /Users/Name/AppData/Roaming/Electrum/wallets/default_wallet'? This is the location of the user related data not the software itself.

I just uninstalled it and reinstalled it but same error keeps popping up:

cannot read wallet file 'C: /Users/Name/AppData/Roaming/Electrum/wallets/default_wallet'

What do you suggest?
10949  Economy / Economics / Re: About Bitcoin Foundation: Who is Lindsay Holland w/ $160k salary - $13k/month on: April 09, 2015, 12:14:59 AM
It's really hard to believe that someone of the foundation earns $160k a year without knowing for the community what his/her actual role is.
In my opinion the foundation should justify the salary of each member.
10950  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Money or Currency on: April 09, 2015, 12:00:54 AM
A currency can be everything which a group of people accept in exchange to goods. It could be fiat money, gold, shells, stones, digital goods like crypto coins etc.
10951  Economy / Economics / Re: Cyprus lifts all capital controls on: April 08, 2015, 11:53:07 PM
The credit reputation of Cyprus is totally damaged. No one will store larger amounts of money in Cryprus banks again.
If Greece will struggle and fail (and everything is going to this right currently), Cyprus will get into serious trouble and capital controls will set up again. Both economies are too interconnected to survive alone.
10952  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wont open on desktop on: April 08, 2015, 11:48:11 PM
cannot read wallet file 'C: /Users/Name/AppData/Roaming/Electrum/wallets/default_wallet'

Have you checked whether this directory or file exists? If so, try to delete it and reinstall Electrum. This should work to get it run properly again.

I keep an eye on Qora. If there will be good progress and the new devs are doing well I will get back into Qora. AT is a very good beginng. That will give the coin a real unique and useful feature.

Congrats for relisting on Poloniex and good to see Qora back in crypto business. I was a big stakeholder and long Qora supporter until dev Qora suddently disappeared without a message. I was convinced that Qora is dead as so many Nxt successors before (e.g. NAS), so I sold most of my coins with big loss. It seems it was a bad choice now but reading the future is not my best skill  Cheesy Cheesy Anyway, good luck for all who are working on Qora and who believed for the revival  Wink

There is still time to buy back some 7 satoshi Qora on bter and get back in. Wink
This is incredibly cheap given the history, and the fact that Qora is now close to having AT, is open source, and now has an actual team of devs, rather than just one mysterious creator who appears and disappears randomly.

10956  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best payment option for selling BTC on: April 08, 2015, 12:38:08 PM
I usually use bank transfer or OkPay. Both are very safe. Cash is still the best but difficult when the buyer is not living near your. DON'T use Paypal! The buyer is able to do a reverse of the payment and Paypal is finally protecting the buyer's interest more than seller's interest. I made a bad experience using Paypal.
10957  Economy / Economics / Re: Investment Banker - Bitcoin is not a "real" currency ;-> on: April 08, 2015, 12:31:40 PM
There are many bad investment bankers out there and only a few good ones. He definetly belongs to the group of bad investment bankers. Talk to someone who sees the entire picture of the future's currency system and he would not argue like your guy did.

I personally have an importance of about 1%oo (chance 1:10000) but harvesting a block every 1100-2400 blocks in average with only a stake of 225k. That's pretty awesome and shows that fairness of that coin. My client is currently running 24/7.

Importance of 1.6%oo in basis points means an real importance of 0.016%. So your chance is 1:6250 to harvest the next block if all stakeholders are harvesting at the same time. A new block is created every minute therefore you should find a new block every 6250 minutes (about each 10 hours) in average. Since it is unlikely that every stakeholder is harvesting at the same time your chance to find next block increases with each stakeholder which is not harvesting. Thus, the probability should be higher than 0.016% or 1:6250.

Hope that helps!

OK, i have my importance 1.6% but how often should we harvest blocks?
Best score I got was 8 blocks in 1 day with 2.25M(3.1%oo).
