Hey are there any incentives to increasing our donate percentage?  It has an asterisk by the field and I seem to remember there being some text describing incentives to higher donation amounts, but I don't see anything on screen right now.

Speaking about eating at the Y, what you've been up to MP?

Did MM on pa.mtred.com stop? Sad

Edit: nvm, I see it moving now.  Damn optical illusions!
245  Other / Off-topic / Re: Need help with an FTP to hold documents on red light cameras. on: May 29, 2012, 06:10:09 PM
Actually, 2 of the cop cars around here have four cameras, one on each corner of the car. Their sole purpose is to collect license plate pictures, and run them through a database to see whether the car was marked stolen. There is no reason that red light cameras couldn't do this in addition to the useless function they don't properly perform now.

Ok, technically I guess it could perform a real-time check of whether the car is stolen or not or pull up info on the registered owner.  But none of that is really actionable as it would be within the context of a real face-to-face traffic stop  Smiley

Red light cameras as a "safety" device uses tenuous logic to justify their use.

What RLCs do:
  • Take a picture of someone breaking the law
  • ...that's it

What RLC's DON'T do:
  • Check current registration/proof of insurance
  • Administer field sobriety test
  • Check for outstanding warrants
  • Check for illegal contraband
  • Check for stolen vehicles
  • ...and the list goes on

Much like the TSA screenings, it's security theater.

Ok cool, they're showing up now.  And it seems like I'm the only one mining on pa.mtred.com (which has merged-mining enabled).  It's taking several days to find a single NMC block right now.  Maybe an update to the OP in this thread might be needed to get the word out that pa.mtred.com is the current MM address until you re-enable it for the mtred.com Smiley

The thread title is misleading, for I thought this was a thread about eating at the Y.

I thought it was about seafood  Cheesy

What's wrong with GoDaddy?  Is it too hard to use or something?
253  Bitcoin / Pools / What pool has the highest PPS? on: May 27, 2012, 03:06:33 PM
Are there any non-p2p pools that pay higher than MtRed for PPS?  Currently 0.0000314252949729 per share.

How much hash power is on pa.mtred.com?  The NMC pool seems to be going by really slow.
255  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [208 Gh] MtRed (PPS, LP+, API, 0 FEE) Merged Mining Test LIVE on: May 27, 2012, 01:09:46 AM
I just got a string of over 30 "prevhash-stale" shares about 8 minutes ago.

Restarted my client right now.  I'll note my results in an hour or so.
257  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [208 Gh] MtRed (PPS, LP+, API, 0 FEE) Merged Mining Test LIVE on: May 26, 2012, 11:44:19 PM
Hmmm looking into it. I thought it could be 1 thing, but..... it's not present in the production tree.

How long have you seen the increase in stales?

I'm not sure, but I think it started happening in the last day or so.  I'll get a string of about a half dozen "prevhash-stale", which totally kills the reject percentage.
