It seems to me that CoinHumper (love the name) has several times stated that the premined coins don't bother him/her/it because they have no interest in profit. I don't see any instance of premined cheer leading in CoinHumper's post anywhere.

Can you post a quote showing such?

Maybe not outright blatant cheerleading, but Oldminer wasn't bothered by the half million or so pre-mined Ixcoins either.  CoinHumper's similar condoning of pre-mined TB seems a little... coincidental.  Like I said, we need Smoothie back on top of things!

Looks like they extended it to 10/4.

Not sure why 5970 doesn't get more love.  It kills any other card in terms of power efficiency and w/ right cooling can be solidly overclocked.  90% of the performance of a 6990 for almost half the cost and throw in more MH per kWh as a bonus.

I believe you have that backwards.  The 6990 has 90% of the performance of 5970, as far as hashing goes anyway.

I'm not real sure why you want to attack me so viciously. Yes I am new here and yes relatively new to the crytocurrency world. But I have been a long time GPU Parallel Computing Developer for Mathematical Research and an all around cryptographer. I am interested in the technology here and no way care about profit margins. So 99% of the politics related to such have no meaning to me including your petty "My toy is shinier than yours" childish debates.

Tenebrix piques my curiosity as a puzzle. I am curious to see how a GPU "hostile" platform will perform in an information society that demands faster, better, more power....(cue in Tim Taylor).

Tenebrix was innovative in the fact it was the first to come out that diverged from the main line of GPU based currencies. Like it or not, Tenebrix was the first. Regardless of it's rough state now, anything that comes after, better or worse, will simply be a reproduced knockoff in the same way IXC and I0C are to Bitcoin.

The only politics I can say that garnered my attention are the ones that involve the creator of Solidcoin. The whole drama stirred by SC is enough to turn anyone off to it and as you demonstrate clearly, it attracts undesirables. No one has to attack Solidcoin, the creator has already doomed it and you are a fine example of what he stands for and by proxy Solidcoin gains the attributes.

UI is what I do very well and I am working on a really cool one for Tenebrix. I'm sorry that my choice of a hobby has offended you so deeply, that's your problem not mine.

Oldminer?  Thomas Nasakioto?  Is that you?  I've haven't seen cheerleading for premined coins this hard since Ixcoin lol  Where's Smoothie when you need him? Smiley

I ordered the Corsair Enthusiast because i got it for $104.99 - $10 Promo ($94.99) and then i also get a $15 MIR which brings it down to around $80. Plus it has a 5 year warranty, and more than 85% of the 102 feedback are 4 star or above. I took everyones opinion into consideration and it came down to this one. I will be coming back to this thread after a few weeks with updates. Thank you everyone, and thank you vapourminer for the list of good manufacturers to choose from, that helped ALOT.

Excellent choice.  TX-series is legit.

IMHO just get the Corsair AX850.  I was running a 5970 and two 5870s on it with no problem... power at the wall was 820W or so, but that's with the stupid 100% CPU usage driver bug.  It should be a few watts less whenever AMD decides to fix that bug.  But yeah the Corsair AX "Professional Series" will handle 90%+ load 24/7.

strange, I have bought tons of thermaltake products and never had a problem with any of them.

I was running two 5870s and a 5850 on my Thermaltake 750W for about a couple months without a problem.  But that was with an external fan blowing into the PSU.  Within an hour of turning the external fan off the PSU just died. Sad

I think youre buying junk again.

seasonic, pc power and cooling, corsair, antec, silverstone. thats the list. any of their 650 units will beat those junk 750 units. the junk units LIE about wattage, pure and simple. they rate at lower ambient temps, thats how they get "750" watts. real world temps, its far less. the reputable units test at real conditions.

To the OP, just in case you missed it the first time, I've requoted and added emphasis.

Yeah IIRC, your internet connection has a lot to do with stales.  High latency = more stales, but I'm not sure why.

Well all I can say is that this is news to me LOL

Somebody been imitating me over there.

For the record I have no issues with DoubleC or Namecoin. No attack planned by me. Too busy working on other things.

If I do not post on Bitcoin Talk, it ain't me!
Yeah, I was gonna say... who would have any issues with DoubleC?  He's a cool cat.   Maybe that's what the double-c stands for Smiley

How does anodized aluminum hold up in a chainmail garment? Does the anodizing wear off after a while?

That could be it... what other metal options are available for your chainmail, Thralen?

That's awesome!  I have a chainmail bikini top that I got at the Renaissance festival in Texas, but the metal makes me break out in a rash.  I don't know what it is.
