Yeah I have a feeling we all just got bent over and shafted with no Vasoline.

Where is this guy?
923  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: at 7$ per btc i need to pull the plug on: September 09, 2011, 08:30:17 PM
My rig is dark.  I wasn't really making my money from mining anyway, so much as I was trading on the exchanges.  But now either method seems really risky at this point.

925  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 5970 ulps on: September 09, 2011, 07:05:49 PM
I am using sapphire trixx on my 5970

But when I try to overclock it. It keep asking me to disable ulps. But the disable ulps is always ticked at the setting

Any idea what to do. Thanks

I had this same problem, but I can't remember exactly what I did to fix it.  I know I uninstalled both Trixx and the AMD drivers and then re-installed them which fixed the problem.  Which re-install fixed though, I can't tell ya.
926  Other / Off-topic / Oh well, at least I have an awesome system for Battlefield 3 on: September 09, 2011, 06:12:21 PM
It's going to be AWESOME!!!  Anybody try out Dead Island yet?  The trailers on Youtube looked promising, but the reviews I'm seeing say it's not that great.  What are yall going to do with your mining rigs?
927  Economy / Speculation / Re: EVERYONE CALM DOWN on: September 09, 2011, 05:49:12 PM

I just want you all to know, this "Bitcoin Black Tuesday" thing is nothing to worry about. The more coins you sell, the worse the economy is going to get. Please just calm down and hold your own. It's best for you, and best for the community. In my time typing this, the MT.GOX price has rise .30 USD.

Remember the basic economy fact, supply and demand. By putting up all of your available BTC, you are driving funds up. Look at this as a great time for investment.

Currently the Gox price is 6.57 6.57202 USD, which is higher than it was a year ago. Bitcoin is only a baby, we must feed and nurture it.

You can't forget that the price is only relevant to miners. Investors should look at BTC as any stock/asset investment, meaning low means buy. The lower price of today is only relevant to miner's as it isn't as profitable to mine as it was yesterday, but that doesn't mean that tomorrow the value won't be $50 a coin.

I will update the price as often as possible.

Fixed it for you.
928  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Tweaking the 5970s on: September 09, 2011, 04:15:14 PM
Again, I would strongly suggest using cgminer.

It may be command line, but it runs on both windows and linux,
and on windoze, a simple .bat file will launch it at the click of a
mouse, and it will take care of _everything_ in one fell swoop:

    - mining
    - multiple GPUs
    - overclocking cores
    - underclocking mem
    - fan control

Fiddling with 3 different utilities is just not worth it.

My experience with CGminer has been positive, though I don't think it's the best for all-out performance.  I suppose it works ok if you don't want to fiddle with command line parameters, but I like to fiddle, and I usually see about 2-3% better performance and less rejected shares with Phoenix with modded kernel.cl on all of my 5000-series cards.
929  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How many people have bought rigs for free through bitcoins they've earned? on: September 09, 2011, 07:49:11 AM
Bought our rigs for free... wat?  Huh
I meant through bitcoins. If you have mined enough to build another rig with the coins you mined.
Oh... well, sorta.  Not through Bitcoins though, but I've made more than I've spent on my HW from mining Ixcoins and Solidcoins.

Did you seriously just take a screen shot of a pic displaying on your computer? Talk about redundancy Smiley
933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is CoinHunter actually Richard Stallman? on: September 09, 2011, 12:27:35 AM
RMS has long since given up writing code. Nowdays he just wonders from forum to forum telling open source projects they are not free enough.

It doesn't seem to be too hard to tell who CoinHunter/Realsolid is:

whois solidcoin.com:
Registrant:
   Ian Eyberg
blah.. blah.. blah

Google search 'Ian Eyberg', second link:
ian eyberg (@feydr) on Twitter

Look on twitter for @feydr and find some nutcase driven entirely by greed and the desire to rip people off who comments about BitCoin and SolidCoin. What a coincidence. Read that twitter feed, the guy is a really bad apple.

'what ppl still don't understand is that you can sell pieces of shit from your toilet as long as you can find your custies, and they DO exist' - @feydr

My guess is he screwed up whois on solidcoin.com then registered solidcoin.info with fake information. Of course none of this is definite proof.

Your guess is wrong.  They're two different people.  The solidcoin.com/org/net were registered way back in May.  The .info is someone else entirely.

938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CoinHunter now censoring posts on SolidCoin forums on: September 07, 2011, 06:48:31 PM
My guess: In the next month there will be at least 4 new alt-chains introduced.

And I've got my miners waiting Cheesy

User netxshare may also be one of his accounts.  Stefanie Andrea accidentally answers a price inquiry for one of the items netxshare had for sale: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=38417.msg485284#msg485284
