121  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOUNTY] 0.15 BTC per transcript of LetsTalkBitcoin on: November 29, 2013, 10:42:31 AM
Hello.  I have finished 34% of the transcript for EP 60.  I am giving the rest of the transcript to "KieranJones1".  34% of 0.15 is 0.051, and we have agreed on a 0.05BTC split for me, and a 0.1BTC for KieranJones1.

When KieranJones1 replies to this post and confirms, I will send him the 34% finished transcript.
122  Economy / Services / Re: [BOUNTY] Looking for information on scammer SHYLOK on: November 28, 2013, 06:59:48 PM
Wow, this guy is seriously sharing too much personal information on the web...OP hope you'll get money back.
You'd be amazed how many people leave so much info about themselves. People are completely careless since the rise of social media.

Yes, but no one leaves such informations to steal money.

Says enough about how dumb he is.

Again... I'm really hoping that he is not using some poor soul's name and passport photo.  Again, doubt it because he is cheering himself on his new alienware and stuff, but still, a smart thief, when asked for his passport picture, will usually find many such pictures on a quick google search...
123  Economy / Services / Re: Earn upto 0.6 BTC per month for your signature! on: November 28, 2013, 04:42:02 PM
This is going to be hilarious!!!!!!!

He'll pay the first month, then EVERY SINGLE PERSON on the forums will JUMP ON THE BANDWAGGON!!!

He'll get RIDICULOUS advertising that second month, get a crap ton of people on his site, and then he won't pay month 2.

GJ to everyone who's getting paid month 1!

No, I'm dead sure I won't!
Though if he does really pay out (I'm all for), I hope that Stunna will raise the payouts for his signature...

Stunna is already paying a very good amount for his signature.  But yea, if this does pay out, it would be good for all of us to get some additional money from Stunna... not like Stunna can't afford it xD
124  Economy / Services / Re: [BOUNTY] Looking for information on scammer SHYLOK on: November 28, 2013, 04:31:06 PM
I'm definitely following this thread.  This is going to be so much fun.  Yea, best of luck catching him.  He's lucky he ran into you, a nice guy who calls the police.  If he ended up scamming somebody with a different "idea" of justice... oh boy.  Because he DEFINITELY is not very careful about his personal information.

Just a thought:  What if every time he scams, he uses this name and passport picture (one he might have found somewhere online), and this is all leading to some random dude who has no idea what's going on?  I know it's unlikely since he's bragging of getting a recent new computer... but still.

126  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: scam on: November 28, 2013, 03:55:16 PM
I believe italy

Damn.

It will cost much more than $1,000 to bring the person to justice and get your coin back.

Even if you lost up to $10,000 I reckon you would be better moving on.

For sums $20,000 and upwards I would recommend you pursue the fellow, probably hire a lawyer in Italy and see what the options are.

To be fair, couldn't you take him to court, sue him and include lawyer fees?   Might be a way to recover what you lost + pay for your legal expenses.
127  Economy / Services / Re: Offering coaching for online poker for beating 10cents/20 cents NLHE and lower on: November 28, 2013, 03:45:40 PM
I have put up a new offer for a discounted price for any new people interested in this service.  Again, if you guys are interested, it's enough to reply to this thread, or pm me on this account.  I check my pm's often.
128  Economy / Services / Re: Hiering translater (English to German) on: November 28, 2013, 03:38:13 PM
Hi I am looking for some one that could help me with a translation I was working on.
Its a 3 page document with lots of images, so only about one page of writing. I have already translate most of it (so could provide the WIP document), Problem is I have lots of other stuff to do but still need the the translation finished....
So I am wiling to pay 0.03 BTC (about 30$!) for some one to finish the translation, should be done in less then a hour I guess
PM me if interested!

Not looking for the job, but in the future, if you need translations to Spanish, just give me a message.
129  Economy / Services / Re: Will do any photoshop work on: November 28, 2013, 03:31:45 PM
Service is still up.  Since I am getting NO NEW OFFERS, the next person to ask for a job will only get charged 0.01 BTC (11 dollars at current BTC price).  That's a pretty good bargain.  All I ask if to be allowed to show the before/after (can remove faces from picture for privacy reasons).
130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stable Bitcoin investments? on: November 28, 2013, 03:29:41 PM
Talking about investing Bitcoins, where the return is in BTC is interesting and I have put thought into it.

I am actually offering a high risk, high gain investment in one of my service threads that pays in BTC:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345782.0

As can be seen, I show proof of being a winning player (extremely high winrate, but small sample size, true winrate is smaller than appears).

I offer various different levels of investment, ranging from 0.02BTC all the way to 0.5BTC.  Most likely will stop offering investments under 0.04BTC once I get enough investors to give me some credibility (once good results come out, hopefully leading to bigger clients).

I have yet to have anyone invest.

If someone here thinks it might be a scam, my other thread on another service (he paid 0.03BTC) has already had a very happy client:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=341747.0
131  Economy / Services / Re: Looking to get staked on high stakes tournaments on Seals With Clubs (poker) on: November 28, 2013, 03:26:29 PM
Hey guys,

Here are results from November 25th

As you can see, it was a good day, up 5.5 buy ins (0.109 BTC).
132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lmao @ people buying subway and etc w/ BTC!!! on: November 27, 2013, 12:09:57 PM
Funny thread.  Might be a troll thread though, not quite sure if he's serious.  But when did subway start accepting bitcoins.  Do they accept it everywhere, or only in some cities?
133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your biggest Bitcoin mistakes? on: November 27, 2013, 11:51:34 AM
I suppose my biggest mistake was holding off on buying more when the price had dipped below $100 after the Silk Road was shut down. The price then started climbing and hasn't stopped since.
I feel slightly less bad about not investing after the SR takedown, since that felt like a pretty legitimate reason why BTC might not have recovered.

Before that, though? I really should've invested!

Something tells me that you'll be making another 0.21 BTC quite soon though.  So while you didn't invest early on, at this pace, you'll be a bitcoin millionaire soon enough once bitcoin goes up.
134  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Pizza for bitcoins? on: November 27, 2013, 11:39:52 AM
You'd think he'd come back and talk about the pizza once in a while.  I wonder if he's upset for having bought the pizza, or happy that he is part of a legacy.  One day, our grandchildren will all know him as the pizza man.
135  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Now Here: Casascius 1000 BTC Fine Gold Coin on: November 27, 2013, 11:38:12 AM
kinda funny how that gold coin is worth practically nothing compared to 1,000 BTC now.

no kidding. just sold that coin in a fiat/btc/gold trade and lulz. gold is pretty worthless.

How much did you sell it for? How did you find a buyer?

$1,000,000

he contacted me.

Indeed, pretty decent investment Wink

The more important question though: where did you park the $1m in value?

DONT answer this hahaha.  4 years from now, when bitcoins are 100k each, and this man is sitting on a 100 million dollar coin, his house will be a better robbery location than a bank vault.  And about robbing physical bitcoins like on a golden coin or paper wallet, once you have it, it's super easy to spend the money afterwards.

Then again, I'm pretty sure it's in a VERY safe place, and not under a pillow even today!

Satoshi "just" brought already existing ideas together in a clever way.

Allow me to help:
Satoshi "just" brought already existing ideas together in a clever genious way.

Oh sir, may I help you with your spelling there? But of course:

Satoshi "just" brought already existing ideas together in a clever genious genius way.

My work here is done.  Please continue the conversation.
137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know anyone in the REAL WORLD who has bought bitcoin? on: November 27, 2013, 11:20:26 AM
What beet says.  I think that any job I had, I'd prefer to be paid in bitcoins, given that I had a decently easy way to change it to fiat to pay for my basic needs.  And there are semi decent ways to do this.  Funny thing is though, normal jobs can't pay in bitcoins, because how would that work?  You sign up for a  job, at 4 BTC a month (lets say BTC is 1k a coin when you start).  Next day BTC drops to 200 a coin.  Easy, you quit xD
You could be paid in bitcoin, but the salary number would obviously still be in EUR/USD and you'd get the amount of bitcoins paid according to some conversion rate.

If that's the case, i'd prefer to be paid in fiat.  Keep the fiat that I need, the rest spend on bitcoins.  Much easier than trying to change bitcoins into fiat, getting the fiat, putting it into bank, blah blah.
138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: scenarios if US Govt tried to take down bitcoin? on: November 27, 2013, 11:17:06 AM
mining these days is mostly centralized, you have few pools that have the most of the network hash power, p2pool is not that popular which really bothers me, so an attacker (could be US government or any one else) in has to achieve that 51% in order to start his own fork and do a big mess.

the easiest way and most efficient is to heavily DDOS the biggest pools, they say that they are DDOS protected but 100 DDOS protection is a myth, so lets say the attacker can take the biggest 3 pools (BTCguild, GHash.IO, Eligius) this is equal to 66% of the network hash rate.

so the technical aspect of the scenario is possible, but the question that popup is why ? if I have that kind of power I would just mine and make money, because such operation will cost millions of dollars, who wants to invest (lose) millions of dollars to do such thing ?

the million dollar question is what the government and big organizations think of Bitcoin ? in which position Bitcoin stands ? is bitcoin a threat for them ? will they ever regulate bitcoin ?

it is a serious matter that should be discussed but when you have the answers to these questions it will be easier to imagine the 51% attack.

The biggest problem is the mistake that was made not to allow normal computer processors to mine efficiently.  If this was made, then millions of people would have their miners running.  With millions of users mining, you could never easily take over 51% of the market.  But instead, the mining is designed in such a way that you can develop specific cards that make normal computer invalid.  What happens then?  Well, all the mining is centralized to those few who have these cards.  And it's much easier to target.
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: November 27, 2013, 11:11:00 AM
Are you currently putting all your money into bitcoin?  If you say this, you show you believe it by your actions.  I am putting all my money into bitcoin - I see a possibility of $50-$100+ per coin this year.  Just think, once the "bankers" and hedge funds find out about this, we are going to the moon.  Once my bitcoins are $1,000+ I will be able to pay off my growing college loans and maybe get an apartment, and my first car Smiley

so, are you? Smiley

He's probably living somewhere on his private island, with the 13 beautiful wives he bought.  Doesn't have much time to check the internet or respond to thread Sad
140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know anyone in the REAL WORLD who has bought bitcoin? on: November 27, 2013, 11:09:34 AM
Seems like more and more people are signing up for the exchange to buy BTC.  Businesses are start to accept BTC as just like another credit card by using Bitpay and other payment gateway services and coding on the shopping cart.

Private Taxi and Limo in NYC takes BTC for the fair via smartphone.

Honest question, would you accept BTC as Taxi driver? It is such an instable currency and accepting it as a pay - on which your livelyhood depends - is  quiet a risk. Exchange rate might have dropped 50% by the time you get home to cash out (or doubled, ofcourse)

simple. hold onto the coins you want, and for anything you would have spent fiat on, convert it from cash to BTC.

What if the next day BTC go up to 10k a coin.  I stay and smile, and employer goes bankrupt o_0
