201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jessica Irvine "Trust me" (But I don't have a clue what I am talking about) on: November 24, 2013, 08:06:05 AM
Of the last 5 years, miners have released bitcoins almost entirely according to the plan, other than certain periods of high fluctuation of hashpower, show me one government that was able to do that.

Yea, this I understand.  But is there a risk of someone getting a monopoly on the hash power, and then f'ing up bitcoin?  Or are there too many miners for this to happen?  I ask this more towards periods where normal people won't be able to mine for profit (it's happening now).
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question about traceability on: November 24, 2013, 07:37:41 AM
However, there are ways to stop the trace. For example: I buy 10 btc on Bitstamp, send it to my personal wallet and then to any website that uses a shared wallet system. At irregular intervals I withdraw different fractions of my 10 btc from the site. Since they use a shared wallet, these withdrawals won't come from the deposit address I used. So here the trace stops. Anyone investigating the blockchain will see my deposit of 10 btc to the site and then my withdrawals are mixed in with everyone elses and since the addresses used are not linked to the address I originally had my coins on, there's no way to link them to me.

There are dedicated services that do just this, called mixers, but with a careful withdrawal plan, most shared-wallet sites work almost as well.

Yeah but the government may request those informations from the site that uses the shared wallet as well.

This is quite true.  But a mixer site located in a country outside the government's jurisdiction would be doable.  Sending them bitcoins should be extremely easy, since bitcoins are easy by definition to send.  And if it's a trusted mixer site, there's no way the government can see how many bitcoins, if any, you withdrew from them.

Is there ANY word on when they will be back up.  I was on when they crashed.  Was on a super heater from the reload.  Think I was up 20x their faucet.  Hopefully it all saved...
204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bye on: November 24, 2013, 07:14:35 AM
Wow that really sucks.  Man, need to store your bitcoins in other places.  I sent an encrypted wallet to 2 of my email addresses as an attachment.  Is that enough safety guys?  Just curious of what everyone thinks of that option?
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jessica Irvine "Trust me" (But I don't have a clue what I am talking about) on: November 24, 2013, 06:01:08 AM
Fun thread.  What are the odds of miners getting together and forging fake bitcoins?  Isn't that a bit unlikely?  I'd assume that if miners stop mining, difficulty goes down, and more would come back in no?  Shouldn't the system stabilize itself, the less people mine, the more profit, and reach a point of balance?  Could someone really invest so much money as to have more than 50% of all mining power?

Now that I think about it, LC has an advantage there, that home computers are still very strong miners, and there are millions of billions of them.
206  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: November 24, 2013, 05:41:13 AM
I was coming here to make a new thread to talk about an AMAZING site I found for online poker with bitcoins... then I see a huge thread about it almost at the top Cheesy  Great site man, you're lucky you were the first in.  You must be making some serious cash since there are no huge competitors like PokerStars offering the bitcoin service.

I played poker quite a lot and did it as a small income, but withdrew all since I believe bitcoin will grow in value faster than I can grind with the bankroll.  Now I have best of both worlds!  MONEY is in BTC, and I can still make income playing poker with it!  HOW SICK IS THAT!

209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Trust me." (But I don't have a clue what I am talking about) on: November 24, 2013, 02:08:54 AM
I love the part about "who's to stay they'll stop at 21 million".  I know right?  Should we take the miner's word that they'll stop mining?  She's a genius, nobody else ever thought of that one.  HUGE security fail...

o_0-

Wow what a retard.  You'd think she'd have the sense not to write about things she has no idea about!
210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin overtakes Paypal for first time ever. on: November 24, 2013, 01:48:19 AM
Meh, can't compare the two.  The way bitcoin works, many transactions are to the same person.  Hell, someone rich could just transfer his money to a paper wallet and there'd be a huge log.
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: hahahahahaha Did you guys see this yet. on: November 24, 2013, 01:02:38 AM
That's quite interesting.  Maybe the prices will fall very hard, and we can all buy more bitcoins at a cheaper price Cheesy  But I doubt it will do much.
212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Riddles - Second edition - Solve them and harvest the loot! on: November 24, 2013, 12:56:35 AM
WOW!  This is just ridiculous.  I don't know where to start.  Does one have to be a programmer to understand these riddles?
213  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: November 23, 2013, 08:19:27 PM
Wow... bitcoin is at it again.  Will we sit it hit 1,000 USD on USD based markets?  Or will someone dump hard right before it gets there?  There's much money to be made dumping, and then buying everything back at lower prices.  We'll have to wait and see.
214  Economy / Services / Re: Hire a troll / quality copywriter on: November 23, 2013, 05:59:59 PM
This may be one of the funniest services I've ever heard of.  This guy can't be serious though, can he?  I wonder if someone will pay for this just for the kicks?
215  Economy / Marketplace / Re: 100 BTC giveaway. Post address for bitcoins! on: November 23, 2013, 05:52:12 PM
There's a special kind of hell to people who necro old threads like this one Cheesy  Mwahahahaha.

On the other side, imagine being active in trying to get bitcoins back in those days...
216  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Its BitCoin Friday!. Now go buy some stuff.. on: November 23, 2013, 11:58:10 AM
Can somebody explain a bit better what bitcoin friday is?  Is there another thread somewhere explaining it?

I'll hold a few hundred to a few thousand (please don't send more than 10,000 BTC) under 2 conditions:

1.  I don't have to sign anything
2.  I remain fully anonymous.

PM me if interested

XD

And what is that? You are a Jr. Member that just started.

No he is trying to be funny, by saying I don't want to sign anything and remain anonymous, but he is actually just wasting his time, and if anyone did a search on him and saw this post would probably do no business. Hence why people like him will always be at the same level and never move up in life.

This is rude.  If you don't have a sense of humor, sometimes it's best to keep it to yourself.
218  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Bitcoin Faucet where you can get upto 0.2 BTC every hour **NEW PROMO** on: November 23, 2013, 11:39:45 AM

219  Economy / Services / Re: Will do any photoshop work on: November 23, 2013, 11:26:11 AM
I just had bitcoinpsftp do a photo edit for me (remove someone out of a photo)

He did the work quickly, professionally and I was happy to pay him for his time and efforts.

Thank you very much for the review Joe.

Here is a cut out of the work I did as reference for future jobs (didn't include the whole picture for privacy reasons):

Work consisted of removing a person from the picture, and rebuilding the window frame behind said person.

Awesome work dude! Will keep you in mind!

Thanks man!  Hope to hear from you soon.
