141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's future is clear to those who study technology's history on: November 27, 2013, 11:05:27 AM
Wow, great post.  You put quite  a lot of time into it.  What you say is spot on.  It is a fact that bitcoin is just NOT SIMPLE.  I searched for like an hour for an easy way to buy bitcoins back when they were 50 dollars each, and failed, so didn't buy.  Mistake, but oh well.  They're just SO HARD to get.  So obviously the potential for it's growth is VERY limited (who wants to post on a forum, and obtain an obligatory 4 hours of online time, in order to post in the marketplace to buy bitcoins, I assure you, 99% of the population won't do it).
142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading volume, and the importance of Alts to the Bitcoin Eco-system on: November 27, 2013, 10:54:03 AM
Nowhere to spend coins except buy and sell to people who are also buying and selling.  What's the use of alt coins?  How many services accept them?  I think it's a huge bubble.

yes it is.

just get (lost) money in few time.

I love how bubbles work... It just takes one person with a large volume to start selling to panic everyone else.  People keep buying hoping they'll sell before the bubble, but not too early.  Human psychology is funny, everyone knows it's overpriced, but buy anyway hoping ti gets even more overpriced!
143  Economy / Services / Re: Offering coaching for online poker for beating 10cents/20 cents NLHE and lower on: November 27, 2013, 10:47:39 AM
I still have only one person who is going to pay for coaching (he starts on December 1st, so won't have any reviews of my coaching until then).  Please post here or pm me if interested.
144  Economy / Services / Re: Will do any photoshop work on: November 27, 2013, 10:46:18 AM
This service is still up.  I thought I'd be getting more people interested in photoshop work, everyone has SOME photo which they dislike Cheesy  Again, I have only done one photoshop job so far, and it can be seen on the first post, or on later posts (the results before and after).

What I find interesting is that everyone who I have met that has heard of it, just puppet's someone else's opinion, without understanding it.  Like they'll call it a ponzi, they'll p raise it, but they still don' tknow much about it.  Soon t hough the information will get out there.

it's usually "isn't it that thing that thieves and criminals use for drugs and stuff?"

I guess.  Although that argument is easily deflated.  It's amazing how people get all t heir ideas from television.  I watch maybe 1 hour of television per week, MAX.  Not because I don't like TV, but because anything worth watching on TV, can be downloaded online, without commercials.

this is my personal opinion but.. we are in the information age, and there's way too much of it. there are too many things to kept yourself aware of that many people just want to consolidate their "thinking" to news organizations or celebrities. there's just so much fucking information and news going into people's heads. if it's not the constant checking of twitter or facebook, it's the news channels or the news sites.

if everyday you hear so much shitty things happening, you're bound to become desensitized to it.

Sure, you have to specialize sometimes in what you wish to learn about.  You just can't read EVERYTHING.  Although it's a bit sad that some people devote 90% of their brain power to learn about celebrities, what they where, who the fuck, and what they are going to call their children.
147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know anyone in the REAL WORLD who has bought bitcoin? on: November 27, 2013, 09:10:12 AM
I know a couple, all in it for investment opportunity. Really wondering when they will cash out, never really discussed this. Have to try to convince them that using it as a currency might preoduce more long term returns than sitting on it...

Convince me of that.  Sure, people in general need to spend it more to make it go up in value.  But the selfish ones that hold on will make more than the ones who spend.  So in reality, this is a hard thing to convince.  The "Hey... if everyone had that attitude, bitcoin would be worth nothing" is not good enough of an argument to get me to spend.
148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wallets - Coinbase Vs Mt.Gox Vs Blockchain Vs Local Client? on: November 27, 2013, 09:05:36 AM
some people learn their lessons, others continue making them. a lesson most people are presented with early is "don't trust anyone." that's just the way the world works.. if you don't protect yourself, another animal is gonna come in and eat you.

Pretty much everyone has a "price".  Whether it be a monetary value, or a different kind of value (life of a family member, etc.), you can make almost anyone do anything, for the right price.  And from there comes the part of greed.  For the right price, people will take from you what is rightfully yours.

I would never trust anyone with any money (anyone I don't know well presonally).  They can always come up with an excuse if they get greedy for why your money dissapeared.

I'd use the sites if I thought the chance was very low of defaulting, and that I could make good profit.  But NEVER trust them fully.  IF you're just storing, store it on a paper wallet or something.
151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many coins do you have? on: November 27, 2013, 08:41:29 AM

It might be him Cheesy  Who knows o_0

If I could get even an 8th of that.... I'd never ask anyone for anything again...
152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who are some people publicly known to hold more than 100,000 btc? on: November 27, 2013, 08:39:03 AM
satoshi's mined coin won't be spent, we can roughly say total supply is 20M.

One day it might be??

I agree with that, who knows

Again, I don't get it.  Why do you people keep saying this?  For what reason will 900 million dollars not be spent (today's price).  I just don't get it.
153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: concerns on the bitcoin system: isn't it TOO perfect? on: November 27, 2013, 08:37:11 AM
Human error caused a fork several months ago via an incompatible wallet upgrade.

No Government on earth will adopt Bitcoin so as long Satoshi has control of his pre-mined. Thanx for the prototype.

NOW THIS is what worries me the most.  HOW can we expect any government to say "fine... lets all usebitcoins" when just ONE PERSON controls 1/6th of all coins, and he's an anonymous kinda person that the government can't "find".  It's sad that he has to have that many bitcoins.
154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Apple attacking Bitcoin? on: November 27, 2013, 06:49:21 AM

This is quite interesting...  But by digital currency, are they refering to crypto currency?  Not quite sure what they mean.

they booted coinbase's app off their store for no real reason...  they want to control digital money flow.   A closed system going by their past actions.

I still have a 4S but it'll be the last iPhone I buy..  works great, but they are going off the deep end.  Same with microsofts xbox one..  all bonkers with control issues

I've always been a huge apple fan.  But after the death of Steve Jobs... I honest can't get interested in their new stuff.  The company I believe will eventually become another Microsoft.
155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who are some people publicly known to hold more than 100,000 btc? on: November 27, 2013, 06:47:06 AM
What is the problem of people finding out who Satoshi is?  Did he do something illegal?  I know about the link to DPR, but other than that, why wouldn't he eventually come out?
156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Schiff vs. Stefan Molyneux - Gold v. Bitcoin Debate (video) on: November 27, 2013, 06:42:38 AM
Not sure if this was mentioned (oh, and thanks for lnking the debate, was awesome to watch), but how was the example of e-gold not brought up when discussing gold backed currencies???  There is much history on the case of gold backed currencies and how the US hates them and shuts them down.
157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Dollar on: November 27, 2013, 06:39:05 AM
Each bitcoin has 8 digits after the decimal point.

1.00000000

This was a great idea when bitcoin started and its value relative to fiat currencies was very low. But now with the price of bitcoin reaching close to $1000 USD, it's a good time to introduce a new convention: the Bitcoin Dollar (BTC$), where there is just two digits after the decimal point.

Thus, 1 bitcoin = 1,000,000 Bitcoin Dollars
that is: 1 Bitcoin Dollar = 100 sathoshis

Why? Because people are not used to currencies having 8 digits of resolution. As bitcoin goes mainstream changing it to 2 digits makes it easier for people to deal with it and helps them understand that when they buy 1 bitcoin they are really buying 1 million bitcoin dollars. So rather than looking expensive compared to country backed dollars, it looks inexpensive.

I know we could also call it a micro bitcoin, but using that terminology just makes it sound like you are getting something really small. Also it doesn't give you any idea about how many digits are after the decimal. People already know that a dollar has two digits after the decimal.

Bitcoin clients and sites should allow users the option to view amounts in Bitcoin Dollars. Sites can gauge what percent of users enable this option and if a majority start using it then it could be made the default viewing amounts in bitcoins being optional.

This is wrong for one main reason; if we add additional decimal points, your "Bitcoin Dollar" is now ambiguous. Secondly, numbers would be too big, who wants to buy a beer for 3,500 units? If the point of this is psychological, the units go against that.

And you spelled satoshis wrong.

And that unit is already a UBTC.

I disagree with this.  There are many countries where a beer costs 3,500 units, and there is nothing wrong with that there.  It's just a matter of getting used to it.  What IS difficult to get used to though, is workign with currency in 0.0xxxxx format.

maybe apple is just jelly that it did not patent cryptocurrencies, and even if it did, it wouldn't be able to sue the "people" behind LTC/BTC  Cheesy

here's to iCoin on your iOS which is run by an iPhone.

you missed the iMoney patent

What did God create VPNs for?

I find this offensive.  Stop attributing things you don't understand to a god.  There is valid scientific evidence that VPN's are not miracles, but are indeed of this world.
