181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you want to pay the fee? on: November 25, 2013, 10:39:34 AM
Such a complicated topic.  I wish I was more studied on these aspects of computing.  People out of the loop will be the last to know when bitcoin runs into trouble, and we won't be able to sell our coins before it's too late and the price has crashed to 0.  This, ofcourse, is assuming that things and fees can't be fixed...

Wow this is super useful.  Seriously, thanks a lot.   How nice of you to do it and not even put a donation link for your time wasted Cheesy

I'll use this for reference once my 1 month time runs out with primedice!
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you want to pay the fee? on: November 25, 2013, 09:42:42 AM
Guess you cant o_0.

It is a major downer.  I hope problems like this do not kill the currency.  I for one really believe in it, but I can also foresee some real scams coming out.

Imagine you have a wallet with 10 BTC.  These 10 BTC are made up of 1,000 parts of 0.01 BTC.  You could show someone this and "sell" them the wallet address for money.  When they try to transfer this to their own wallet, they'll be shocked to find that the TX fee was over 10%.

Hopefully fees can get lowered again, but if fees get too low once the miners are done mining coins... could be the end of bitcoin as we know it!

Also imagine once lifecoin runs out of coins, and they realise everyone stops mining?  Will that news automatically kill bitcoin?
184  Economy / Services / Looking to get staked on high stakes tournaments on Seals With Clubs (poker) on: November 25, 2013, 09:00:47 AM
Hello,

Looking for someone who wishes to pay for my entree free in any of the higher stakes tournaments on Seals With Clubs.  The buy ins that I'm looking to get staked at are the following:

0.500 BTC entry cost
0.200 BTC entry cost
0.150 BTC entry cost
0.125 BTC entry cost
0.121 BTC entry cost
0.105 BTC entry cost
0.100 BTC entry cost
0.075 BTC entry cost
0.065 BTC entry cost
0.040 BTC entry cost
0.035 BTC entry cost
0.025 BTC entry cost
0.020 BTC entry cost

Cheaper tournaments than the ones listed, I feel comfortable paying for myself (I never risk more than 1% of my bankroll on tournament inscription).

As can be seen, there is a level suitable for almost anyone.  Now, for some stats about myself:

I am a winning poker player, on pokerstars I have average approximately 9bb/100 at NL25.
I have currently started playing on sealswithclubs.eu and am at an average of 336bb/100 (not a true value, sample size too small), but none the less a very impressive heater (good run).
I find the player level at sealswithclubs.eu to be far inferior to that of players on pokerstars.com, and believe that I have a very large edge over the majority of the players.

Below is a screenshot of my cashier on sealswithclubs.com showing 2 days of playing (total of about 5 hours).  I made 12 buy ins of profit playing 20 chip buy ins (0.02 BTC per by in) for a total of approximately 0.24 BTC.

Ideally I am looking to get staked on tournaments that have a cost of 0.040 BTC and higher.  But for now, I will accept staking for lower cost tournaments to build a reputation.

My cut is 20% of winnings (total won minus buy in cost), and 80% of winnings go to the person who financed the buy in, plus the buy in.
so if the cost for the buy in was 0.50 BTC, I came in 15th place and won 0.95 BTC, the person who staked me wins 0.50 BTC + 0.8*(0.95-0.50) = 0.86 BTC.  My cut would be 0.86 - 0.95 = 0.09 BTC
on the other hand, if the buy in was 0.50 BTC, and I came in 1st place and won 14 BTC, the person who staked me wins 0.50 + 0.8*(14-0.5) = 11.3 BTC.  My cut would be 11.3 - 14 = 2.7 BTC

In this format of 20:80 of staking, I have no risk, all the risk is on the person paying for the tournament.  If I don't place in the tournament, the buy in is lost and I owe nothing to the investor.

Keep in mind, in these tournaments, only about 15% of the players make it into the money.  So if I was to get into the money once out of every 4 tournaments, this is a good winrate (25%).
185  Economy / Services / Re: Offering coaching for online poker for beating 10cents/20 cents NLHE and lower on: November 25, 2013, 08:43:36 AM
I just started playing poker for bitcoins on the site Seals With Clubs (sealswithclubs.eu).

Current report after 2 days of play:

Starting chips 0.105 BTC
Ending chips   0.34626 BTC

This was done playing 0.02 BTC buy ins, meaning over just 2 days, I've made a total of 12 buy ins.

This is just to give some credibility to my style of play, showing that I am a winning player.

Here's my cashier to show deposit dates, transactions, etc. to show that this is accurate.  Only thing I can't prove is the stakes I've been playing.

Well, if he does end up paying, i'll be the first to write a nice apology.  Still think it's not happening. But if after first month he ends up paying, i'll be signing myself down for the next month!
187  Other / Archival / Re: Custom Amateur Picture Sets and Panties - Price Negotiable on: November 25, 2013, 06:06:51 AM
I'm confused... what exactly is being sold here?  Is a woman selling pictures of herself in panties for bitcoins?  Am I getting that right?

Maybe I can get rich selling pictures of me in boxers!!!  WOW.  Brb.... getting  a camera!
188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized Mining & Preventing Centralization in Pools on: November 25, 2013, 05:41:30 AM
Reading this, only understanding 30% of it Sad

Sincere question, maybe it was covered here but I couldn't understand it.  What is the real world chance that one day in the close future (next 12 months say), somebody will do something like this 51% attack thing, or some fault will be discovered, that creates big problems for bitcoin?  Is it a high risk of happening?
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Depressed that I was not an early adopter on: November 25, 2013, 04:32:36 AM
Exactly what Big said.

What if when you bought bitcoins at 0.0001 cents in 2009, because of those minutes sitting on the computer buying, you walked out your house 1 hour later than usual, and got hit by a buss and ended up dead.  IF ONLY I NEVER BOUGHT BITCOINS.

See why that thinking is illogical?

If only I bought microsoft shares...
If only I bought facebook shares...
If only I bought etc. etc. etc.
190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Depressed that I was not an early adopter on: November 25, 2013, 04:03:53 AM
You'll feel a lot worse in 5 years when they're 40k a coin.... why didn't you buy when they were only 800 Tongue

Seriously, nobody on the street knows what a bitcoin is.  It's still SUPER EARLY.
191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Block chain size/storage and slow downloads for new users on: November 25, 2013, 03:40:30 AM
What I'm trying to understand is how exactly will bitcoin work if everyone starts using bitcon QT with the updated 10gb limit.  What will happen to the old blocks?  Why would anyone store them anymore?  What's the incentive to store a terabyte of blocks (in the future)?  Will this mess up bitcoin?

Everyone who owns a bitcoin has an incentive to see the blockchain replicated and stored, because this has the only acceptable proof of their own holding. Terabyte disk storage is very cheap today and storage continues to get cheaper. The cost of helping ensure network health is the delay in initial synchronization and continued bandwidth requirements. People who don't mine, and just invest, should consider spending a small percentage of their bitcoin holding on hardware and bandwidth.

But what if so few people start storing the full block chain, that somebody can mass install a fake one with fake info, thus ruining bitcoin?  I'm not sure this is the greatest thing int he world, sorta compromises a system like bitcoin...  It will just cause fewer people to own the complete blockchain...  Am I wrong on this?

193  Economy / Services / Re: WTS Real Social Followers - 1000 for 0.5BTC on: November 25, 2013, 02:40:58 AM
Wow, is that the usual going price?  400 dollars per 1,000 followers?  I'm sure people online would follow you for 10 cents each no?

195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An Electronic Currency That Could Save The Economy - And It's Not Bitcoin on: November 25, 2013, 12:47:26 AM
What's scary is that if some other online currency REALLY took off with the uneducated, it could kill bitcoin...  This would mean that a lot of people wo uld lose a lot of money

I think it's SUPER obvious that for 0.6 BTC a month, NO ONE in their sane mind would scam and remove signature after payment, especially people with 1200+ posts...  The fact that being new, he won't pay first, shows that this is a scam 100%.  I mean, even after first month if he paid first, people would accept him paying second, as he'd have enough or a reputation built just from that!

Till then, gl to everyone who's playing poker.

Haha, oh please.  Can it be more obvious of a scam?  Nobody would pay that much.  If he did even a little research, he'd see he can get away with paying a lot less.  I hope nobody falls for this.  If he does end up paying, I'll be the first to apologize.
