Anybody like to share their thoughts on the current market, price action?

It looks weak AF to me. I mean, I think everything is OK & we should rally in Q4 but we really need to start moving up soon. Part of me is fucking concerned if I’m honest.

In the summer of 2016 it pumped to $800, then crashed to below $600 in September. By December/January it had pumped to over $1000.

September seems to be a crap month for the price.

I personally don't think the price is going to do crapola until January 1st or after.

But I can't say stuff like that here, because:

1. JJG and others will jump on me and call me a bear

2. I'm not a S2F cultist like most of the crypto twitterverse

3. I'm open and happy to being wrong. I hodl regardless of what the price does.

I just pointed out that data was presented incorrectly. So Bawb was referring to the wrong 5% (of HU students and employees not all population).
Actually no it wasn't. Bob had it right, and you were wrong...again. His reference was to employees and students only. You were the one that brought up "the rest of the world population" in order to be cute. News flash: it wasn't.

I've never told anyone what he/she should do or where he/she should go. May I ask you why YOU are telling me what to do and where to go/not go? ..... Then I'll better stay with my government thanks.  Grin

Wow, such irony. Such hypocrisy. Such cognitive dissonance. Such shill/troll (shit eating emoji grin gives it away yet again).

WO is better because it's family.  It has a ridiculous preponderance of weird uncles, but it's still family.

My experience with family is a bit different.

Blood doesn't matter.

I've disinherited family from my estate.

Even family can be absolute garbage human.

I hear ya bro.

With my SO, we are at a point now where we're about to completely disassociate from her family. Perhaps forever, or at least only see them rarely once every few years.

They are the worst people. A bunch of narcissists that only care about themselves. They never inquire about other people when family gets together, only brag about themselves constantly. They are somewhat educated but are poor, don't have a pot to piss in but act like they aren't poor. They have Mt. Stupid level knowledge on just about every topic, but think they know literally everything and are the experts. They only admire people with credentials and academics, not people who have made it to wealth by any other means. They also have bent views of politics and the world...aka delusional. And they are also a bunch of Communists as well as hypocrites.

We just got back from a family visitation not too long ago, and started to really question whether going out of our way to visit them anymore was good for our mental health and time spent.

Sad day…. Lost one of my very best friends today, a dog and it’s unconditional love.

A day where I really learn what pain is.

My condolences, sorry for your loss.

Meanwhile, at Harvard Business School in Cambridge, Massachusetts...

"Harvard Business School moved all first-year and some second-year MBA students to remote learning this week amid a “steady rise” in breakthrough Covid-19 infections, despite high vaccination rates and frequent testing.

Online classes will be in place at least until Oct. 3 and the school has asked students to eliminate unmasked activities while indoors, Harvard said Monday in an emailed statement. Harvard is also increasing the frequency of testing to three times a week.

...

Harvard University said on its website that 95% of students and 96% of employees are vaccinated.
"

Bloomberg Wealth: https://archive.is/D8ODG

Damn that 5%, fucking it up for everyone!!!

Yeah but those are just 95% of students and employees but not entire population. They don't live in a bubble. In the grocery store, gym or somewhere else they can meet some antivaxxer with his mask on his chin and voila...  Cool

You know you're right...perhaps you should never ever leave your house again.

Do society a favor.

Gotta keep those numbers up, because science! Don't call off sick from work, or else be counted as CV19-positive!

When the shit is going to hit the ceiling, don't lower the shit, but raise the ceiling:

The only question is how long until the republicans cave?

It's all just clown show political theater.

They'll cave precisely as agreed, likely on Oct. 18th. Gotta have those optics.

Both the $3.5T spending bill and the debt ceiling raise will get shoved through.

Wouldn't matter who was in office either.

Instead of merely listening in on your conversation like Echo, it'll follow you around from room to room and both listen and record video! And case your house! Oh joy!

I will not take a thesis on the Lightning network yet, until I see for myself. But reading the recent posts on WO, I can already feel that something is not quite right.

And when I hear about it and think about it from a layperson/Average Joe's perspective who is actually expected to use the LN, as well as merchants who are expected to plug in, it sounds even worse. Crossing my fingers that it can all be salvaged.

Deletion based solely on someone being a retarded nitwit flies against what I thought this thread was all about... attempting to clear the trash out of the WO.

If they can't spout their BS here they'll continue in WO.

So if by "they" you mean anti-vaxxers, and by "trash" and "BS" you mean scientific facts and emerging evidence to support not wanting to take or be coerced into taking the vaccine, then really, why do you care what happens in this thread Jimbo?

I think we already know where you stand, and that you don't think it's worth debating.

All this sudden talk of supplements in this thread, here's the one I take daily. Been working out great for me so far.

It's just that it seems so unlike this thread, the only thread that you can discuss important things in without snowflakes interfering.

You do have a point.

And now it seems to be going the way of other threads.

It won't be for long, just cooling down the heated debate, and it will probably be back here in no time.

There is no debate. Because they can't dispute the scientific facts and mounting evidence, the pro-vaxxers got exactly what they wanted: All the anti-vaxxers get quarantined off into a siloed thread with their own discussions, and the pro-vaxxers won't have to participate or even look at it anymore. They will just take another blue pill and stick their heads back into the sand.

Which is fine by me, whatever.

Let's focus on Bitcoin speculation here.

1114  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 28, 2021, 02:15:14 PM
Every now and then you see something that actually makes your jaw drop open...  No... I am not talking about Saylor's laser eyes quote.

The same Fed asshole that sat there on TV, with a wide-eyed look on his face, basically saying "Yeah we have the printing press, so we can print infinite amounts of money no problem."

The guy is not too bright tho, he literally asked that question about the laser eyes 2 days ago.  Roll Eyes
1115  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 27, 2021, 04:55:45 PM
Yeah, I agree. Some WOers are pulling this thread into the black abyss of ignorance. I suspect things like which lucky charms work best: rabbit's foot or a horseshoe will be discussed here. Or how to burn a witch properly...  Grin

STFU and GTFO, you blithering idiot.
I won’t have it - undermining anyone’s opinion - just because you’re a paid shill.

It's really easy to spot a troll or a shill that ends up in the WO thread.

1. They try to condescend and insult anyone that they get into a discussion with

2. They never refute facts or data points, but instead ignore them and misdirect with strawman or ad hominem

3. They end every snide/snarky sentence they write with a grin emoji

4. After exhausting everyone's nerves and patience, they eventually fade away into the ether (returning later with another sock puppet account)

In fact, the more people there are that believe the S2F model definitely will happen, the more that whale traders will have an incentive to NOT make it happen and do the opposite, fucking over both leveraged longs and shorts, and trying to shake out more weak-handed hodlers.

<snip>

So surely the $million question remains whether bitcoin will still end up springing back to something like the S2F model in spite of strenuous efforts (and a lot of resources) striving to invalidate the S2F model.  I am surely all in agreement with you in terms of identifying that there are some likely high stakes traditional manipulators that feel that they have quite a bit to lose based on bitcoin success and ongoing success so they are willing to NOT pull any punches when dealing with bitcoin manipulation and to throw a lot of resources at such "problems," yet in spite of such spent efforts, what's going to happen?  Will bitcoin revert to something like S2F .. or perhaps S@F gets shifted downwardly on its curve projections a wee bit, but still does not invalidate S2F - beyond appearing that it is invalidated in the short term or even for one or two 4-year cycles and then at some point when we look back at the whole matter instead of doing something like what S2F had projected, we end up having a 1/3 performance level that resembles S2F, but really does not invalidate it beyond the need to shift the price projection curve downward by the necessary amount.

The S2F model is an interesting theoretical model based on looking at past data and projecting the future. But at the end of the day, that's all it is: a projection model. It could end up correct, or it could end up broken at some point.

The problem I'm having is all these noob acolytes treating it like a self-fullfilling prophecy, and a religion. They buy a small piece of bitcoin and sit on it, waiting for their delayed lottery ticket to strike a winner X months down the road, all because some chart has "promised" them that a certain price will come true by a certain date. Like that is a 100% certainty.

What happens when things don't turn out like they were lead to believe? Will they all lose their shit, sell at a loss and become nocoiners again?

We all know that eventually the bitcoin price will rise to new ATHs. It's not a matter of if, but when. Because ongoing money printer go brrr and massive inflation is here to stay. That should be the guide that most investors follow, not some chart projection. It's a long term, lifetime investment.

This is so under-merited.
Everyone should really read this. Thank you jojo, everything in one place.

Very low quality antivaxxer shit. Using a couple of real facts to make it look trustworthy to cover up the rest 99% which is a huge pile of BS. Looked up the author: why do you believe someone who's only work experience is a self employed agriculture consultant? You don't believe scientists, infectologists, pharma professionals but you do believe a retired agriculture consultant? Truly people believe what they WANT to believe.  Grin

So instead of attempting to refute the specific facts and concepts presented by the author, you instead ad hominem attack the author and dismiss it all.

Typical pro-vaxxer bullshit.

I don't have time to spoon-feed you. You have to use your own brain. Basically it's just one big lie. All "facts" are purely SOMA kind of statements. No sources, no references.
Actually the onus is on you to point out the specific so-called "lies". Point them out. Be specific.

He starts out with a particular standpoint on a subject and collects "facts" that fit that premise and disregards those that do not. That's not how science or decent investigative journalism works.

Ok, so which ones? Be specific.

I've never understood how Raoul Pal could be such a fan of altcoins. Many people have tried to argue against them with him, and pretty much failed because he didn't consider them on an equal playing field (i.e., he didn't respect them enough to hear and consider the argument).

So finally, FINALLY, someone like Michael Saylor comes along lays it out for him. I sincerely hope he gets it now and quits being so delusional. In addition to just being completely worthless, so many of these shitcoins will also be categorized by the SEC as securities, not commodities, and also won't be willing or able to comply with proper AML/KYC rules.

1120  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 25, 2021, 04:27:14 PM
We’re getting damn close to “shit or get off the pot” time for Bitcoin’s price. I think we’re going to see a big move towards the end of October and expect we’ll see a new all time high by November 2nd. Maybe that will be en route to a $200,000 Bitcoin exchange rate by the second week of December. Any variation from this path would have me getting concerned.

Legit question: I see posts like yours here on WO from time to time. This expectation of a magical price rise to X price by Y date, or else expectations get shattered.

Price doesn't just rise by magic. So who is going to provide this magical levitation? Why must Bitcoin hit a certain price by a certain date? Because a soothsayer chartist says so?

Not trying to be combative or negative, I'm just extremely curious in the thinking here. If you are thinking the PlanB S2F model, just know that it is not a self-fullfilling prophecy. Someone has to actually make it happen by buying. Actually a whole lot of someones doing a whole lot of buying in a short time frame (demand suddenly overwhelming supply). And they are not looking at someone's chart to decide when to do that.

In fact, the more people there are that believe the S2F model definitely will happen, the more that whale traders will have an incentive to NOT make it happen and do the opposite, fucking over both leveraged longs and shorts, and trying to shake out more weak-handed hodlers.
