Pfft left and right nowadays are just two sides of the same coin. They both want to limit individual freedom, one wants big government the other big corporations to govern us. At least one of the two is more democratic, depending on where you live.

Valid point. Although there are a number of large corporations, particularly Big Tech companies, run by CEOs and entire boards who are liberals. And these companies biggest internal changes year after year are more heavy-handed draconian policies, procedures, and red tape for their employees that limit their freedoms and ability to get work done.

So Fed govt vs. corp govt, what's the difference? Personally I just see them in bed with each other.

Well well well...

George Soros’ fund owns bitcoin, CEO confirms

The family office owns “some coins … but not a lot,” Dawn Fitzpatrick, CEO and chief investment officer of Soros Fund Management, said in an interview at a Bloomberg event this week.

Translation: The family office owns a fuck ton

So, interesting storytime earlier today.

Starting to enjoy this whole retirement deal with Rick, and we ended up in a bar before noon, somehow.

Sat down, ordered us some drinks, and struck up a generally friendly conversation with the bartender.

Anyway, Rick and I were talking back-and-forth, and Rick sorta stopped me after my sentence, in a hushed whisper (Dude is WAY WAY MORE sensitive of others than I am. I simply DGAF when out and about in meatspace), and said "Dude, you just said the C word?".

Confused? "Uhh, dude, I'm pretty sure I didn't say 'cunt' in the last 30 seconds", to which Rick responded, "No man, COVID".

I boisterously, and much to Rick's chagrin, retorted in a hyper-animated fashion "So what if I'm saying the word COVID out loud?", when - right on cue - bartender returns back into hearing range of our discussion, and responded to us with "Oh yeah. Don't worry about COVID-19. I'm vaxxed."

The fucking look Rick and I gave each other at that exact moment, was just so... <CHEFS-KISS>

Fucking hilarious.

Oh yeah, no masks, cuz Texas, so... I hate this goddamn planet.

EDIT: ... and here Rick and I were thinking to ourselves "Oh Jesus Fucking Christ... What sort of mRNA-derived mutant-strain-madness is this guy cooking in his upper nasal tract that is going to kill us all..."

Pretty funny.

Would've been even funnier if, in that exact moment, you both simultaneously pulled out masks and put them on. Lol. (not that I think masks actually do shit)

Just clicked on "Explanation" and saw the first ChartBuddy image. 2015. Just look at the price.

HoDL, brothers, HoDL!

I remember buying my first bitcoin in this price range, saying to myself "If a whole bitcoin is worth hundreds of dollars now to people out there and still hardly anyone I know even knows what Bitcoin is, then a bitcoin is going to be worth thousands one day!"

I couldn't have been more right.

Event 201. A mock coronavirus pandemic exercise held in NY, NY.

Hosted by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Look. At. The Fucking. Event. Date.

You can't even make this shit up. Not a surprise that the media is completely quiet about this event.

And this man was at the event, sitting right at the conference table:

https://www.centerforhealthsecurity.org/event201/players/gao.html

From his bio:

"His research interests include enveloped viruses and molecular immunology. His group research is mainly focused on the enveloped virus entry and release, especially influenza virus interspecies transmission (host jump), structure-based drug-design, and structural immunology. He is also interested in virus ecology, especially the relationship between influenza virus and migratory birds or live poultry markets and the bat-derived virus ecology and molecular biology."

Meanwhile on the reverse indicator front, Jamie Dimon is at it again:

...tax avoidance...sex trafficking...ransomware...beanie babies...tulip bulbs...

He's right up there with Proudhon, a sure sign this Q4 rally is really starting to build.

Notice how these journalists never EVER ask the follow-up questions that would completely flummox Jamie Dimon:

"So in your mind if Bitcoin has no value, and is akin to beanie babies and tulip bulbs, why would you ever put such a risky instrument in front of your wealthiest clients? Why would you even allow it in the bank's portfolio?"

(A: Because these journalists are paid to read from a curated and groomed script, that's why)  Wink

So I take it endless debates about supposed Global Warming are just fine in this thread, but debates about vaccine safety and mandates are told to fuck off into their own thread?

Wow, such free speech. Such libertarian. Such cherry picking.  Roll Eyes

Why do you guys diss her?

I often wonder why wo will attack or defend various people.

I feel mostly she is attacked and not sure why you all do it.

Seriously? This is why: all talk, no background, no viable solutions (or none at all). Just like most of the other libtards somewhere between GenZ and Millennial age.

In the UK we are already going to be forced to buy electric cars within the next 10 years (if you want a new car at least). I think that is quite a fast turn around. There is actually no concrete plan that I've seen to provide the UK with enough electricity for that. Households will almost double their electricity usage by charging an EV at home. Unless many more of us will all have solar panels (the only way I think this will be possible in the short term) this could be a big problem and make electricity rather expensive (which it is already becoming without mass EV adoption).

I can say from experience some green solutions have only been scams in the past and do not provide a smaller CO2 footprint, but in fact larger and just makes things worse for the planet and households. I have a solar panel for water heating which does fuck all in the UK. For electricity themselves they can be useful from what I gather as they don't require sunlight directly.

Until the world starts going after China for being the biggest polluter in the world and building more and more coal-fired power plants every single year, then what all the little piss ass eco things that all the other countries combined do would barely put a dent in what China is dishing out pollution-wise.

I just listened to the mandarin translation of "bitcoin".

It sounds like it's pronounced "bee cua bee" ? Is that right?

比特币

Bǐtè bì

There are 93 dialects of Mandarin so it might sound like "cua" in some of them but it's pronounced like the "t" in "touch"

 http://www.standardmandarin.com/chinese-phrase/bitcoin

Also the two "bee" are pronounced differently.  The first bǐ uses the 3rd tone and the second bì uses the 4th tone.  If you don't use those tones, you likely wont be understood.  If you go to that link, click on the buttons under "syllable level playback" to hear the tones.

Yeah I'm not that interested in the exact pronunciation, more like in general just curious what Chinese people say to each other when referring to bitcoin.

"Bee cua bee" sounds dumb. I hope they say something much cooler.  Cool

So Merck is fast tracking Molnupiravir as a Covid-19 treatment.

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/10/01/merck-to-seek-emergency-authorization-for-oral-covid-19-treatment.html
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molnupiravir

1. Was "developed for the treatment of influenza". Huh?? That can't be right. But, bbut...I thought that CV19 wasn't anything at all like the flu?  /s Roll Eyes

2. Permanently alters DNA."...concerns that similar drugs in its class have mutagenic properties.[4] A previous company, Pharmasset, that had investigated the drug's active ingredient had abandoned it over similar concerns." Gee, sounds completely safe. What could possibly go wrong?  Roll Eyes

3. "Also at this time, DRIVE and Ridgeback Biotherapeutics stated they planned future safety studies in animals". Hory shit, they haven't even done those safety studies yet??  Shocked

Yep, just more confirmation that these drugs companies don't give a shit about people's health. They only care about the money.  Angry

Hmmm never mental again that’s awesome
If ever again crossing Belgium… never wait reaching out to me, I’m always up for a glass of wine, White Russian, fine foods or a simple burger….

Not likely I will ever be traveling again to that continent due to COVID-19 measures.

I've resigned myself to a life living on this half of the hellscape we call Earth.

Very unlikely I will ever enter Canada again, as well.

Mexico, or South America by the looks of it, appear to be the limits imposed on us, presently.

Very sad about that.

I personally could give a shit if I ever travel outside of the U.S. ever again.

Already did that 25 years ago, and the europeans I encountered treated me like crap everywhere I went (e.g., got spit at once in broad daylight just for being an American, got scammed, got taken advantage of due to language barriers, etc.). I can only imagine that it is way worse today for americans traveling abroad.

Plus there are so many fantastic sites, monuments, and events to see right in the USA. Most Americans don't take enough advantage of it all.

All usa people, have fun with your 1099s and whatever form number exists, automatic reporting for aggregate transactions over 600$ to the IRS hahahahahahahahahaahahahahahaaha
literally every person in the USA that has a bank account has that.

I don't think the $600 thing will stick. But I do know that the govt is desperate for money to pay for all the stimmies and unemployment $$$, and so the IRS has been combing through past tax receipts, turning over every rock, sniffing for more money.

Don't ask me how I know.  Wink

1100  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 29, 2021, 11:17:25 PM
But I can't say stuff like that here, because:

Please don’t do that. We need critical thinkers more than anything at this time. Even if all hell breaks loose.

I've lived through the past bull runs of 2013 and 2017, and TBH, even having the experience of 2013 behind me, the bull run of 2017 still disappointed me. Because at that time, I believed way to hard that "this time is different".

But it wasn't any different. In both 2013 and 2017 cases there was a blow off top, and a bounce to a lower level top, and then finally months later, a high-volume capitulation.

So what do I see when I look at the current 2021 chart? A blow off top, and a bounce that we are currently in, that looks like a lower top forming. I still don't see a high-volume capitulation yet.

Will a capitulation happen this time, or will we just blow past that? I don't really know, I can't say. But something inside tells me it's possible that this time is no different than any of the others. This market just loves to make "fools of the bulls" almost every fkn time.

Just my 2c. I will hodl no matter what happens.
