41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trading is the key to increase your portfolio in the Bear Market on: October 01, 2018, 12:01:11 PM

1. The coin must have a big market size before trading
2.  l trade only with what l can afford to lose
3.  l don't use emotions to trade
4.  l trade with Big exchanges
5   l use the stop loss features for trading

This are the very basic rules to trade I agree. Rather than big exchanges, I would say that you need to have good liquidity. Some coins have decent liquidity in small exchanges. Also, the exchange must support the stop loss and take profit orders for sure.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Criminal life is easier on: October 01, 2018, 11:58:56 AM
How do you think: does crypto make criminal life much easier? We all know that criminals use crypto to sell drugs, guns, people and everything else.

It has been relatively easy in the past. Preparing an scam ICO is quite simple, it can be done in a couple of months and does not require specialised knowledge. However it has become more difficult, as people have grown aware of the different techniques. I hope that eventually everyone will wise up and doing scams is no longer cost effective.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty hunter, now what are you going to do? on: September 27, 2018, 09:22:52 PM
And now, when after three or six months of participating in campaigns you are compensated with tokens without any value and you realize that this business is dead, what are you going to do, bounty hunter?

Keep up the faith and the good work. I guess that I do not realise this business is dead at all. I should remind you of the thousands of times that the market has crashed due to it being in the infancy.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeepOnion, an absolute failure? on: September 27, 2018, 09:20:12 PM
Perhaps one of the projects that drew the most attention last year was DeepOnion......Will DeepOnion end up becoming another shitcoin?

It has always been a get rich quick scheme for the creators of the coin. All the premine and pump operation was very clear and that linked with the privacy features make it the ideal coin to set up a scam airdrop.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange bounty stakes to ETHER (ETH) on: September 27, 2018, 09:17:43 PM
Hey everyone! Participate in the bounty and get ETHER (eth) for stakes

Unless you can explain a little bit more about the business model of this, I would have to consider it quite fishy. The point in which it says that the number of participants is unlimited raises al my bright red alerts.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good opportunities to those who wait on: September 27, 2018, 09:14:59 PM
I have received so much coins from the ico that is good, and they have plans that they still want to stretched out the exchange listing, due to the current market condition. What is your other experience related to this?

Unfortunately, the initial price of a token is very important when the markets are a bit flat like now. That means that every ICO should have a strategy to keep the value up in the face of bounty hunters dumping. BTW, many time is NOT the bounty hunters dumping, it is the weak investors. It just sounds better to say that it is the BH.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP beat ETH on: September 27, 2018, 09:12:12 PM
The Ripple is unexpectedly move to huge jump.

As far as I am concerned, the competition is not about having the highest market cap, but about what expectations of profit can I have with each of these. Ripple is closer to a traditional company than to a cryptocurrency, so comparing does not make sense.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USDC vs USDT: new stablecoins addition to the market, what do you think? on: September 27, 2018, 09:09:44 PM
These are simply options to keep your investment in fiat instead of having to stay in crypto at all costs, but there are sayings out there about the fishy business that those coins have in reation with bitcoin price pumps.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your cause of chose to trade Crypto? on: August 30, 2018, 04:30:49 PM
I too interest in it for my curiosity. I traded in an out of fiat as a way to transfer money. And now realizing the profit on investment, I trade to gain a profit.
My trading skill with a lot of failure and hit and trial has increased over last few years. I'm now making about 1% daily profit even in the falling market.

I tend not to trade, I have already seen the evolution of crypto and decided that I am in a better position to make money if I just donīt think is worth following the market all day.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Postponed ICO because market volatility? on: August 30, 2018, 04:29:19 PM
They should just set the hardcap in usd since the start so the volatility of the market won't affect them as they will have the same amount of money that they required. I don't like projects that postpone their ico for a long time, although the market is not that good but most of them can still get a lot of money that's more than enough to fund the project.

The problem is that even setting the HC in usd will not provide a uniform investment playfield since investors will still be paying in crypto so the problem remains.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: QTUM wallet suggestions on: August 30, 2018, 04:28:08 PM
Based on this article it looks good but before choosing or using this we need to aware of something that is this wallet is secure or not also it is user friendly or not we should think about this if this full fill this criteria then we can adapt this.

It think that Qtum is not one of the most promising projects, since the code development is far behind other similar chains, you should rethink even installing software for it.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is blockchain the answer for poverty-stricken countries? on: August 30, 2018, 04:27:06 PM
Blockchain can bring prosperity to the country, precisely because those small countries need cryptocurrencies and can see the value of cryptocurrencies, which I think is not visible to many big countries. In those small countries, it can develop better.

Nah, crypto is just another way of taking the money from de unwise to the better and more knowlegeable investors. Poor countries can benefit from it like any other.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top influencers in crypto 2018 on: August 30, 2018, 04:25:43 PM
Great read about the top influencers in crypto: https://www.strictlycrypto.com/the-most-influential-names-in-crypto-2018/

By far this is the most thorough list I've seen. Thoughts??

The list is nice, but personally I just donīt trust influencers that talk too much about the market, since they are rarely interested in anything but selling their portfolio.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: icemining: New Policy on risky coin launches on: August 30, 2018, 04:24:46 PM
Hi All.

In light of recent scam coins, icemining.ca will no longer support new coin launches with pre-mine/masternode pre-sale. The only exception will be projects that demonstrate the use of a reputable escrow service.

We're taking this strong position (at the risk of losing miners and profit) in order to drive change. We all know the community needs reputable escrow for new projects. Its been discussed, but little has changed. Now its time to step this up.

We invite other pools to join our position, so that new projects are forced to put some "skin in the game" before launching.

Thanks for listening.

It looks quite reasonable and I hope that your miner trust your new policy and make you a stronger business.  The pools have to care about their reputation and play fair.

There's also a search function in this forum. Just used it before opening any threads, it might saved you a lot of time. Here's [How-to] the Search button if you are not familiar.

That is very helpful material, however people are in need of a good clear and simple procedure to do some basic DYOR, not exhaustive guides that take lots of time to apply.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investment or free? on: August 28, 2018, 08:27:03 PM
I see the crypto market growing more and more with the appearance of more and more coin and projects. Every day there are dozens to hundreds of new projects being established. Most of them aim to call for investment to develop the project but besides that many projects do not call for capital but only distribute their token free through Airdrop programs and bounty. This leads to competition and attracts different users. Do you think free or investment projects will last longer?

The utility of airdrops is very dependent on the type of projects, some of them may largely profit from a strong and varied community whereas others are not really relevant for it.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH ready to bounce back? on: August 28, 2018, 08:24:26 PM
Found some technical analysis taken on ethereum and with the report, it is looking real good as it seems ETH has prepared to take on the train and prove itself once more that it is th king of alts. Well, lets hope the TA becomes real and we see our dearly ETH come up once again.

Not it is not, ETH price requires an strong and prolonged bull market to make a sensible rebound, however there is nothing preventing you from hoarding eth, becuase it will eventually happen-
58  Economy / Economics / Re: Are fiat currencies necessary in the world? on: August 28, 2018, 08:17:50 PM
Quite an economy focused statement!! However, I believe fiat is not necessary for the world but a medium of exchange is! Otherwise how would you determine the value of any particular goods? So a medium of exchange is needed which can determine value of anything. Crypto can handle this job splendidly well!

Now the question is, will any government allow it to happen? The answer is NO!! No governments will let go the power from their own hand to some decentralized currency system. It involves many other risks which can be fatal for any economy. So probably in future cryptos will be allowed to mix with the economy but that won't be allowed to replace fiat. Probably fiat currency will have a digital version as well in future but crypto will never take the hot seat by replacing fiat.

Not a chance of replacement, yet  a very high probability of having a very relevan influence in the economic policies of the countries in the near future, since it prevents mismanagement,
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POW Reality on: August 23, 2018, 05:34:37 PM
There are so many coin projects right now that it seems certain a great deal of these coins will not last or be successful.  As many of these coins require POW... what will happen when so many coins go dead?  Resources used, money spent on electricity and gear will all be for naught.  Is this the 'bubble' people refer to?  I think it's very likely to be.  It happens all the time in economics.  Anytime there is a glut of resources disproportionately allocated the bubble inevitably collapses.

We have already had tastes of this.  in 2014 people pretty much turned off many cards as the air was let out of crypto after Mt Gox.  Some people sourced highly efficient GPUs like the Nvidia 750Gtx.  Many bitcoin ASICS shutdown.  rinse and repeat... we get the same thing in 2018 after a peak in 2017 and a mad dash to acquire 2x priced GPUs old/new... anything goes/went.  And just as fast the tables have turned and we see 1080ti's trading hands int the 350-Euro range.

There are beacons of hope from places like Mineority and other enthusiastic GPU miners... could keep the hope alive too.

I've been a proponent and predictor for vast improvements to GPU mining.  For the most part, I still see this happening.  But I also see the bubble...  I think there will be a realization that many of the efforts put towards POW will be lost on dead coins.

For the moment PoW, ASIC or GPU driven, has been proven to be quite safe, yet also quite expensive to maintain. Until PoS is more used and tested, we should rely on it.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty Earnings on: August 23, 2018, 05:33:02 PM
Hi guys.

Out of curiosity, what are you earning with bounty campaigns?
I think I'm somewhere near 1K USD/month, but I guess there have to be people here who are earning lots more.

Kind regards

EDIT:

As many people do not believe these profits, I will explain how I make them.

I focus on the translation campaigns (dutch). A translation pays +- 3 ETH on average. I have only started (only 1 translation has been paid, I received +-2 ETH), but as I can make up to 3 translations/month (currently working on 2 more), this would get me 9 ETH/month.  As not every project is succesful, let's say I will receive 4,5 ETH/month.

Do not focus on signature campaigns or social media campaigns, these are the crumbs (especially for members with lower ranks) while translation campaigns are probably the bread.

I use the Bountyhive platform to manage my bounty participations, this platform makes it possible to be enrolled in 10 campaigns at the same time, without having to report.

Translation campaings are really cool, but you need to have an special knowledge of languages and also be able to advertise yourself correctly. Also, if they donīt pay it is lots of effort.
