281  Economy / Speculation / Re: ELLIOTT WAVE ANALYSIS OF BITCOIN (BTC/USD) PRICE on: September 24, 2016, 11:22:14 PM
To elaborate a bit my own bullish view of bitcoin is based on the wider economic picture in which central banks are holding interest rates at zero or even attempting negative interest rates. Central banks are also doing quantitative easing in Europe, Japan and Britain. Bitcoin is a natural protection against that, as is gold and other hard assets. Bitcoin supply recently halved also which should not be forgotten. Like a few others I find sub $100 btc hard to believe in this climate. Bitcoin is the daddy of crypto and the one which investors will first turn to in crypto space, not Dash or Eth or whatother alt might have arguably superior tech. But as I said above i could be wrong and admit it quite honestly and openly.

this is a correct fundamental. but does not really tell us when the price will go up. I think everyone (in bitcoin land) knows this, so, i find it does not really add any value to where price will head next. Only that price will go up in future.

With EW, we are trying to be more precise (than your staement above) on where price ight head next, while, still agreeing that your fundamentals (above) will push price up (at some point).

Also, CBs could pull out a new card and push this money printing game longer.

There are lots of folks who have been calling for a collapse of the markets be/c of money printing since 2010. Still hasnt happened. Not saying it won't but, you get my drift

Yes kicking the can on the economy is already going longer than I first thought, who knows how long it can continue?

If you can trade profitably using EW good on ya. I won't be selling at these levels though, to me it doesn't feel like that was a top. Which I will regret of course if $85 btc does come along. But even if price starts crashing I probably won't sell anything, I hate selling into falling prices.

Yeah, jeez, how long can they continue to just kick the can on the economy? its not like civilization is depending on it - oh, wait....

Yeah, it's overpriced - deal with it.

We deal wit it by not buyin...gotta lotta butts wit no seats imho

9.5 billion market cap...insanity IMO
Btc right now is just a way to move fiat that hardly anybody trusts. So yeah, it's market cap is too high.

I have a different view...crypto can be trusted IMO ! Math does not lie only propaganda does...market cap is way high on on Bitcoin IMO

Disclaimer:depends on hyperinflation

Crypto can be trusted - please elaborate on this mythical concept...
The dregs of society own this shit. The mainstream views it as a joke.

"crypto can be trusted" in the sense that "it's all mathmatics!" And you can't argue that 2+2=4!

Unlike the death spiral financing toilet bowl stock market...

Do you think I care about the mainstream talking heads that spoon feed us whatever the highest bidder tells them...?

"Dregs of society"...? This is the future of currency...mythical concept? Wake up dude Smiley

Bitcoin in certain circumstances moves fiat better than other options. That's it dude, there is no inherent value other than that. The dregs of society run the exchanges and gateways for the mainstream to buy bitcoin, so here we are.
283  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do you expect prices to fall on: September 21, 2016, 05:37:44 PM
I believe there's more down side than up side at this point. In my posts and threads, I've often repeated how it will stagnate or fall between July (the halving) and Nov/Dec'2016. Before November 2016, this will go down, 500 and under is very possible.

Keep in mind the late Nov/early Dec rise to 800-900.

Keep in mind the coming crash in Jan'2017, we're looking at 250 blood bath level.

What a wild ride it's going to be!

What makes you think $250 will happen in Jan '17?

Hi, can i please get the answer on my qustions?

Will Hollywood movies, UFC, tv shows and similar content be displayed in Decent gateways?
If yes, will it get deleted when DMCA sends lawsuits?

This are important questions, whole success depends on this question.

This is a scam, you won't get any answers to hard questions.

Bitching about it won't change anything, they aren't about to change the bonus rules again.
291  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price! really dude? on: September 10, 2016, 04:52:51 PM
We'll hit 1K by end of this year, 2016.

One caveat: my predictions have ALL been wrong, so far.

eventually it will come true.

I think there's still a reasonable chance for the price to reach ~$5000 by Q4 2016.

I think you are ready for the ignore button, $5k in the next 3 months is beyond stupid. However, I expect a new all time high before the years end.

$5000 to happen this year is indeed beyond insane, but a new ATH this year isn't that realistic either... It would mean that the price needs to go up like 100% while I don't even believe the price will come close to $1000 this year.

I would agree with you if not for the halving that just occurred. Because of that, don't assume more of the same.

The site is out?
http://sale.decent.ch

Yes. My guess is the site will be back up after the 50% period ends, an hour after ico starts.  Roll Eyes

294  Economy / Speculation / Re: Lose all your capital fast, with MatTheCat and his TA 101A! on: September 09, 2016, 11:42:48 PM
Now, if you are still a lucky bastard who paid a buck or less for each btc and keep them in cold storage, go fuck yourself - you don't have the right to criticise someone not in that boat.

Keep pretending that all it took is some "luck" to understand Bitcoin early enough and hold tight that long.

Besides, Mat has known about Bitcoin long enough to have been in that boat... which clearly illustrates that it takes more than luck.

Regarding trading: Speculation is 20% of the traders making money off of the other 80%. If you can't spot the sucker at the table...

You missed my point, which is you have no hope of any "trading" success without keeping both fiat and btc on an exchange. I have no problem with early adopters, but they have no business criticising people who heard about btc after it's $1100 run for trying to improve their positions. I realize they had challenges back then when it was worthless, but it's a totally different game when a bitcoin costs hundreds of dollars.
And you are damn right early adopters were lucky. I never heard of btc before late '13/early '14. If I had heard about it and looked at it I may have seen it's value, but I'll never know. Those who found it and saw it are the only ones who had the chance. Stumbling upon it in the early days is 100% luck.
295  Economy / Speculation / Re: We would be 1000+ if bitfinex didn't happen on: September 08, 2016, 11:54:11 PM
Price was in decline well before the bitfinex hack, but whatever. I do expect higher prices this fall/winter fwiw.
296  Economy / Speculation / Re: Lose all your capital fast, with MatTheCat and his TA 101A! on: September 08, 2016, 11:22:28 PM
I'm a paranoid and distrustful person, so I don't and haven't kept any value on any exchange or even coinbase for the last couple years. However, I can certainly understand why people do - to trade. How can it be possible to make any forward progress if you can't set sells and buys at certain levels? the market moves way too fast to see a dump happening, get btc on an exchange (forget fiat, that's like sending a fucking wire transfer that takes ages) and take advantage of it. I'm not excusing Matt and his trading skills, I'm simply questioning any notion of being able to trade without keeping fiat and btc on an exchange. You can't do it. Period. Now, if you are still a lucky bastard who paid a buck or less for each btc and keep them in cold storage, go fuck yourself - you don't have the right to criticise someone not in that boat.

Let's not forget about the real possiblity that bitcoin price could be much higher when these coins are distributed than it is now. You can make your own speculation on the effect that would have on Decent token values, but in my mind it would devalue them in relation to bitcoin. You may go up in fiat value but down in bitcoin value, which to me would be a huge negative. This same thing played out with waves with predictable early dumping.
I'm really not trying fud, I'm just pointing out some of the risks in buying this ico.

One of the things i haven't seen explained anywhere (happy to be corrected though) is how 5000 DCT is valued at 1 BTC. When 1 BTC is currently worth $630 today, but only $580 last week. Surely now 5400 DCT = 1 BTC?

No, 5k dct will cost 1 btc no matter what the btc price does, until the price goes to 4500 dct for 1 btc, and so forth. btc/fiat price has nothing to do with it.

i understand 5000 DCT = 1 BTC in the ICO. However as the value of BTC fluctuates quick dramatically, it makes DCT more expensive by virtue it's value has been artificially tied to it.

The value in fiat will change, but not the value in btc. So, if you buy tokens at 5k per btc and the price of btc doubles, the fiat value of dct tokens must also double to keep pace. This is an especially dangerous situation with 1 million free coins given out for bounties - people will be very excited to cash into expensive bitcoins. This is obviously mere speculation that the btc price will go up this fall/winter, but I think this is fairly likely.

Hello DECENT!
So again, anyone from the core team knows the right asnwer to my question please?
Correct me if I'm wrong ! The investors(ICO buyers) will get around 50% of the total supply?

For the upteenth time...
There is no limit to ico coins, if a trillion are sold then that's how many there will be. If a million are sold, that's how many there will be. You can't figure out the relation of ico coins to all other coins until the end of the ico.
