Majority of Vitalik's team left Ethereum at block 1920000. Now they ride a new coin called Ethereum-Fork1. This thread is about the original Ethereum or as it is called now Ethereum-Classic and the ethereum classic dev team. |

Actaully you can't add something that already exists. Ethereum classic is ethereum. Ethereum forked is the new version that must be added. This trading pair should be represented ETH/ETF. To avoid any confusion with Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF abbr) four letter representation would be better - ETHC/ETHF. |

It's interesting to see how all this was called 'consensus' but I don't think that there was a real consensus on the hard-fork, it's also interesting to see how also poloniex added ethereum classic and especially the pair ETH:ETC .

I personally never understood the high price and I still don't understand why it's still high and I expect it to go down.
Some representatives of the banking oligopoly have invested in ethereum. They will try to play same price control game between bitcoin and ethereum as they do between gold and silver. The dao fiasco was quite painful for them but they have a lot of fiat and will not give up easily. |

I am aware of all the discussions and have my own view, I was just interested in which elements you took into account for your view e.g technical, chain functionality, currency, markets price and interest, centralize vs decentralize, trust/loss of trust, security, distribution etc. Also, what do you define as a financial disaster.
Isn't it obvious? Financial disaster happens if there is a loss of confidence. Crypto currencies are especially vulnerable. A small group of people decided they need hf to bail out failed project. Now it is obvious this small group can be forced to make the next fork. |

What percentage of your BTC holdings are you trading on these kinds of swings? 100% of it, or some lower amount?
Best strategy is to never trade any of your bitcoin holdings. Wait for a small dip. Don't be greedy, buy small part on margin. If price goes further down gradually increase your long position. If price goes up gradually take profit and covert your profit in bitcons. That's it, simple and effective. |

Good point, Elwar, as I was asking myself, will the COIN ETF ever get approved ? I think yes, but it's not around the corner. What you think ? If no, why ? If yes, will take some time, right ? Any exchange offering ether forked/ether classic trading pair? 99% of ether fans don't really care about smart contracts. What they do care is pump/dump opportunities and volatility. Forked/Classic ether pair would be excellent offer for such a crowd.
