ETH is dying down,ETC is up  Grin Grin

Do we have any words from the DAO hacker that he will keep the ETC and will not dump to the market?

Do we have any words from the bailout DAO investors that they will keep the ETHF and will not dump to the market?
1822  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: August 01, 2016, 05:38:48 PM
I really don't have time to follow all this fork saga, so let me better ask. What is a general consensus of the ETH devs? Will they support and take care of the ETC chain as well or this is out of question and ETC chain will have to find new devs?

The things developed by the Ethereum Foundation will be applicable to both the ETH and the ETC.

That's how open source works. Now students please get out your crypto 101 book and turn to page 420

So what is a point of paying then 10x more for ETH when we can buy 10x cheaper ETC and still have all of the features and a working product. I don't get it...
It was x10. Now is x6. And parity is not far away because more people see there is no point.

ETHF bagholders panic sell.
1824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 31, 2016, 03:42:47 PM
ETC has no plans for development other than keeping it going to pocket new crypto users money. Development like resolving the compiler bug that allowed for the DAO hack and theft to occur.
The fork did happen on 7/20. What plans do you expect for 10 days?
1825  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 31, 2016, 02:14:23 PM
ETHC up.
ETHF down.
Market has chosen the obvious winner.

Planning a 51% attack by ETH Foundation is a sign of despair.
1826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 31, 2016, 10:30:23 AM
ETH-C is gonna be just a copy and past coin if it survives at all. The C will stand for copy.
ETH-F is gonna be just testnet if it survives at all. The F will stand for Fork, Foundation, or F#cked up ether.
1827  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 31, 2016, 09:46:46 AM

Kibo Lotto.

It will support only forked chain and ETH price will increase.
What is the point of playing lotto on a forkable chain? DAO lotto decided to not pay the jackpot and fork the chain. Why not do it again with every lotto?
1828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 27, 2016, 12:17:29 PM
I just dump my ETC stash... f helaroius, free bitcoins... thank you guys.

i also dump my etc, it has no dev, no roadmap, only  hype.
You're welcome too. Dump more. Who needs devs that miss such security holes in Solidity and such roadmaps as DAO failure?

You're more than welcome. It's hilarious to purchase ethers at such a discount. Dump more.

Quite amazing what I've been seeing. Comes down to the pure hatred of Etherium to the point of trying to use it against itself, and people stupid enough to give away their money to a thief and the like, utterly amazing.
It's like inviting a thief into your home and watching him pick out whatever they want and waving goodby with a smile on your face.

Vitalik has as nicely as he possibly can said goodby to all that to move on with Ethereum.

It has become quite apparent that Ethereum will move on with the continued development and all the backing of what is being developed on it and all else will be left behind in what they have so wanted.

Are you a DAO investor?
1831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 27, 2016, 11:28:36 AM
ETC stands for Ether Coin. Forked ETH is not money but fuel for smart contracts that can be reversed and canceled by Ethereum Foundation devs.
1832  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 27, 2016, 09:05:44 AM
side note -i dumped in the first hour and rebought at 0.0003-0.0004 , got my free etc back, got free btc and bought some ETH
side note - I believe everything you say, pumpy. Why should you lie?
1833  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 27, 2016, 09:01:25 AM
Nobody has still answered my question, so let me try rephrase it a bit.

If a new guy in crypto world wakes up this morning and decides to invest into ETH. He sends his btc to poloniex, gets himself 100 eths. He then downloads mist wallet and clicks onto YES I SUPPORT THE FORK when wallet starts the first time. He then withdraws his 100 eths to his new wallet address. Is this person safe from a replay attack or not.

The common sense tells me that he is safe since he is operating on the forked chain with an address that never existed before the block 1920000 but I want to make sure and check with the community. I don't want to make a mistake and scratch my head afterwards.

Thanks guys!

Somebody please, thanks!!!
Don't listen to unprofessional advice!
You're not safe as you have already sold your ETC following the wrong advice from die hard forkers.

Neither of the chains is safe as both are now susceptible to replay attacks as long as they exist in parallel. Stronger chain is less susceptible while weaker chain is more susceptible. As etc chain is getting stronger every day forked chain will experience replay attacks more and more often.

To resolve this situation one of the chains has to implement a hard fork. Since Classic chain won't do that the only option is Forked chain to implement a hard fork... again.

Hence I think ETC is a big scam!
Before 7/20 ETC was not a scam, right? Why is this SAME coin a scam now?

ETC = ETH (without ETH Foundation)

Conclusion:
If you buy ETH now you pay 10% for ETH and the rest 90% you pay for shares in the non-profit ETH Foundatioon... Quite stupid, isn't it?

You do know that BUYING etc like you did gives every ETH holder more $, BTC and ETH...inc the ETH Foundation... Tongue
I don't really care what fork bagholders do think they're given.
People that bought ETC during ICO made a fortune because there was no pre-mine this time.
Just look at the charts!
Have you lost your marbles... etc has 82mill etc premined
What etc ico? lol
Pre-mine is effectively registered only after eth is moved as etc after the split. What happend is very similar to ICO. This is why etc price rise practically started from zero!

You say that ETC was better, more true coin ...
Why buy orders of poloniex are twice as high than ETH???
This does not mean that people want to buy more ETH?
Just asking  Smiley
Placing a buy order doesn't necessarily mean you're going to buy.
Only sure thing is that you're announcing your intention to other market participants.
This is why limit orders are often used to manipulate markets.
If you really want to buy you just buy it at market and that is it.
Just answering.

But I did split and sent ETC to poloniex. Now I want to protect myself.
You can't protect yourself if you're following unprofessional advices from die hard forkers. Their only goal is to make you sell your ETC. The best strategy is just the opposite - sell your forked eth and buy non-forked eth (etc).

So do we think that other coin (s) forking fun is going to have repercussions for all crypto?

Yes, we can bury the concept that contentious [hard] forks are a good idea... if this clusterfuck is happening with 85-15, imagine 75-25 scenarios or 51%.

FTFY

Contentious soft forks are the way to go, what better way to change our immutable protocol than by dragging along all those who disagree with us? It's the cypherpunk way.
Sidechains is the way to go. It's the cypherpunk way.

It will die down. It's not like it's the first time there's drama in crypto.
I hope you're right. Vitalik will merge this fork back to main eth branch and this crypto drama will be over. It is better to not bail out DAO investors and endanger entire Ethereum project with this stupid fork. But he must act fast because time is against him!
