1201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: May 20, 2017, 02:55:51 PM
ETH is one of the best cryptocurrency after bitcoin but a lot of people missed this train due to make short term period. When it has $100+ for each token but it is still cheap as before end of this it will be over $200 a lot of interesting features coming out.

Altcoins are pumped because a lot of people think they've missed bitcoin. They're wrong! Bitcoin is too cheap compared to altcoins, especially to those altcoins like ETHf that are centralized and of unlimited supply. ETHc is much better investment choice than ETHf.

The fun only starts if doubling in one week.
The bubble would pop shortly after that, the growth we are seeing right now is somewhat healthy but we all know once this bubble pops we're back to the stone ages. Just keep that in the back of your mind. I too welcome the rise but too fast and it's all over.

If you use a bigger bubble to measure a bubble then this bubble isn't a bubble!
It is very funny when someone uses the dollar or the euro to measure a bubble.

Crazy a lot of new coins using ETH as the network. wow

Nothing unusual here. The first rule of money: easy come, easy go.

This is not nearly metaphysical enough.

Yeah, too many things in humankind history are metaphysical until they become real.

Isn't the whole point of blockchain technology that ledger, payment method and clearing method are one and the same?

No, it isn't. Bitcoin is not just money. Bitcoin is the first digital world created by humans. Like the analog world we live in you can't change the past but by action or inaction now you can change the future.

By using the blockchain to pay things you just "move" things in this digital world and use this movement to account for payment settlement. It is just like moving physical gold from one place to another. Sooner or later moving gold or whatever becomes too expensive to be used as a payment method and we must move onto transferring the ownership not the "thing" itself. It'll be much cheaper.

Defining the so called tx fee is very difficult, because it is actually the energy we need to move things in this digital world. We must define what is speed and what is mass in this digital world to calculate the proper energy needed for every "transaction".
1206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IF the NSA wanted to take control over Bitcoin, how would they do it? on: May 18, 2017, 10:57:32 AM
Cornering the BTC market wouldn't be that tough - when big banks are buying up coin, they can prevent huge price spikes by naked shorting. Which is what they do with gold and silver.

You definitely don't know what're you talking about.

Cornering gold and silver market is possible because "rehypothecation" is used. One and the same physical metal is "re-pledged" as collateral. Thus, one and the same physical  gold or silver has many "owners" without those owners being aware that there are other owners as well. This is not possible with bitcoin! The owner is the one that has the privkey!

In other words, a central bank can corner any market of finite supply.

Bitcoin is of finite supply. Why banks can't corner bitcoin market yet?

Not banks.  Central banks.   Well, first of all they should have a motivation - I was just answering the OP.  But they also should be legally allowed to do so (that is, have bitcoin on the list of assets they can buy, like they can buy gold, and certain securities).  I don't think any big central bank is allowed to emit money against bitcoin yet.

You don't have any bank experience, do you?

Banks never do that directly. Instead they'll give credit line to a company that will do what they want be done.

Obviously this is the future, so sell all of your ETH now.

Yea, sell all your ETHf and buy ETHc.

If you sell all your ETH and I will buy some.

I sell only ETHf. I don't sell ETHc.

Been out for a month, what are the most important ETH news in April (apart from the pump) Grin

Awareness about the importance of smart contracts is raising around the world. So many legit projects are using this platform for their services this is more big reason to a decent value. I don't think that is just an ordinary pump it's natural growth.

I think so, ETH gaining more and more $8,096,579,711 cap now amazing Shocked

Yea, amazing example of group insanity. ETHf is centralized, useless and has unlimited supply. What might go wrong?
1213  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 13, 2017, 11:08:31 AM
Who sold at the bottom?
1214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: May 10, 2017, 08:42:31 AM
You probably already know this, but there are some smart guys out there that are planning to take cryptocurrency to the next level and provide Ethereum with smart coins, not only smart contracts.

Ethereum already got smart coins. It is called Ethereum Classic.

I was expecting a dip but this one is too shallow. C'mon I need something more meaningful!

Meanwhile scrolling through threads of 2015 and the 300 dollar prices... Boy aren't we glad those days are finally over. With these trends 2500 is definitely possible by the end of the year, never set your sights too low with bitcoin Smiley

$2500 is possible next month. By the end of the year $10,000 is possible!

More and more people find out that selling bitcoin at next ATH and wait for correction to buy back is very stupid. Soon nobody will sell at whatever price and then price will go parabolic.
1218  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 08, 2017, 08:56:13 PM
Everything is on track guys... I cash out a couple of coins and we proceed to hit an ATH.

FML  Angry

Its okay if you sell couple of coins to buy something you need in your everyday life. But you if you sell coins just to keep your money in fiat currency, it is definition of stupidity.

Crazy Year so far for Eth and all the altcoins, maybe 100 billion total marketcap by end of summer for all coins.

Yeah, banks will pour billions into every established centralized altcoin, so that people get distracted from the decentralized ones. Its okay. If banks give you free money get them! But take care, don't be the bagholder!

I hope banks will give me free money and push the ETH to $10,000.

That might happen too. If bitcoin gets to $1,000,000 banks could get so scared that they might try to push the ETHf to $10,000. One can never know how high bitcoin will go. That is why the safest play is sell ETHf and buy ETHc.
