Hi,

Would it be possible to support the command line argument "-logfile" for this miner just like it works for the Ethereum and Zcash miners? This would make diagnostics much easier.
Many thanks!

[...]

I was hoping to see some final/stable version of ccminer or similar that would do Skunkhash (SIGT) and everything else, and I just noticed that just a few days ago this one was released:
https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer/releases
What I will do in the next release of Awesome Miner is to replace the ccminer 2.1 with this 2.2 version to get Skunkhash support out of the box.

Now I understand.
Using a managed miner, my single SIGT pool works (I specified a custom ccminer path and passed the right command line).
It doesn't work in pool group.

Thank you.
You can still add your custom ccminer as a Managed Software and then make it part of the profit switcher:
http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/managedsoftware.aspx

But once I include ccminer 2.2, it should work out of the box.

About profit switching, I would like to switch pools according to most profitable coin (whattomine list).

- I have all nvidia cards; according to whattomine, my most profitable coins usually are SIGT, KMD, HUSH, LBC, ZEC.
- I configured a pool for each coin (all at suprnova) and then grouped them in a pool group.
- In options -> profit switching I enabled managed profit switching, disabled nicehash/zpool/mph, enabled my pool group as custom pool.
- I then added a profit switching miner using nvidia profile.
- In coin list (clicked "update") I can see SIGT as most profitable, but if I start my profit miner it fires up equihash miner for KMD suprnova pool.
- After "x" minutes, it switches pool (I think it asked whattomine for most profitable coin), but it select HUSH even if SIGT is still the most profitable in that moment, followed by LBC.

I am missing something, but I am unable to find out where my mistake is.

Looking at logs, Awesome Miner checks for "profitability information" for all selected coins, except SIGT.
Maybe that's why it doesn't pick SIGT even if it is at top of whattomine list.
Out of the box I don't think you have any mining software selected that can do SIGT mining. If you look in your Profiit profile (Options dialog, Profit profile section, then edit either AMD, nVidia or your custom) you will be able to see the mining software being used for the profit switcher.

I was hoping to see some final/stable version of ccminer or similar that would do Skunkhash (SIGT) and everything else, and I just noticed that just a few days ago this one was released:

Patrike,

Can you take a look at the Profit Switching interval, i have been mining directly for a few weeks due to SIGT hotness, but wanted to go back to profit switching and set it up lastnight on a few coins, it seemed to always switch every 30 minutes no matter if i had it set to 5 minutes or 30 minutes...

Also can you adjust this to allow switching down to 1 minute intervals please.
It should be possible to set it to 1 minute. Can you please send me the log file and indicate at what time you expected another behavior than what Awesome Miner did?
Like, do you want me to start profit switching and then note a period it should have switched, but didnt and state which algo?

Also im not sure if this is a graphical glitch, i noticed when i clicked the down arrows it stopped at 5 minutes, but i just tried manually entering 1 minute and it seems to have accepted it... If i move back over 5 minutes and click the arrows down, it goes down as far as 5 minutes, then stops at 5...
Yes, if you notice incorrect behavior at some point, I need to know what you think is incorrect so I can compare that to what Awesome Miner is doing. Awesome Miner could have done the wrong calculations but taken the correct actions based on that (still wrong end result) or Awesome Miner could have done the same calculations as you, but taken an incorrect action. In order for me to understand the scenario and correct it, I need to see the log files what is going on.

I know that those spinner controls can be a bit strange when it comes to entering a value using the keyboard. But the actual up/down buttons should always make it possible to go down to 1, as far as I can see.

@patrike is there a way to add another pool to profit switch list?

I wanted to add prohashing.com to managed profit switching list but unable to do so... only zpool and nicehash is there

Yes. In Options dialog, Profit switching section, you can add a custom pool. This can either be a single pool you have defined, or a pool group if you want to add many. You need to define this pool yourself first (Options dialog, Pools section).

I have done that, but where to add API for that pool to ensure it utilizes profitability just like zpool and nicehash does.

Patrike may be able to correct me if im wrong, but from my understanding and experience it seems that profit switching is not based on the api settings under online services list, it seems to profit switch based on the "coin" tab list... which is not dependent on any specific pool, it uses a calculation between your hashrate and the exchange rate price and difficulty to determine the profitability list. So having multiples of the same coin on different pools may be pointless...

I have used the profit switching part of the AM very little and when i did it seemed to switch based on which is list # 1 coin under coin tab regardless whats listed on online services....

That is odd, because Nicehash isn't mining specific coin, and they aren't showing what coin they are mining, zpool does, but zpool profitability is available through API.
i have tried both pools and kept watching profitability, miners were jumping from one pool to another as soon as profitability increased.

Awesome Miner is looking at both the Online multi-pool services (Nicehash, zpool, MPH) and the individual coins (WhatToMine) to figure out the profitability.

For the services like Nicehash, Awesome Miner has no idea of which coin is used, which is why the Nicehash profit API is used to get this information. Similar for zpool and MPH. All this information is displayed on the Online services tab in Awesome Miner.

For specific coins WhatToMine is used as the source for profitability information. This information is displayed on the Coins tab in Awesome Miner. You can also define your own custom coins (Options dialog, Coins&Profit section), but then you need to enter coin information manually. In the Statistics section it's possible to add additional coins listed on WhatToMine but not on their main page, but all coins are not found there.

The profit switcher requires profit information in order to know which pool to use, so it can look at both the information on the Online Services and Coins tabs in order to make decisions. What it actually uses is defined on this page:

If you select Nicehash only, Awesome Miner will do profit switching on the Nicehash pools only. WhatToMine will not be used for anything.

If you select Nicehash and zpool, Awesome Miner will do profit switch on the Nicehash and zpools, but still not use WhatToMine for anything.

If you select to add a Custom pool as well, then Awesome Miner needs to know the profitability of this pool. So it uses the coin you defined for the pool to look at WhatToMine. It will also look at your own custom coins. It needs to find the profit information somewhere, otherwise it will be considered unknown (zero).

To add multiple custom pools to the profit switcher, define a Pool Group containing all the pools you want Awesome Miner to do profit switching on.

New premium user (using 3.2.5, but same issues with 3.2) and I have a couple problems I'd appreciate any insight on:

1)  Coin balances don't appear to be working.  Have added LTC, and BTC and both are showing 0 balances with appropriate wallet addresses (just my bittrex addresses) in address field.

2)  SgMiner-5.6.1 auto downloaded and installed as managed profit miner seems to start the API interface but AM is not seeing it.  This is with MPH (trying to mine Groestl) only enabled as ZP and NH are disabled pending the pricing (hashrate) fix for those two.

Thanks for any help!

G

1) Many exchanges actually move away your coins from the wallet address to some secure place. So from a blockchain point of view, many exchanges stores 0 BTC on your wallet address. This is why Awesome Miner (and any blockchain explorer) see 0.

2) I wasn't able to reproduce this. When starting sgminer, don't you see something like "API running in IP access mode on port 4028"? The actual port number can be different. From what I can see that works with MPH Groestl. Can you try to click the Diagnostics button to see if what configuration and command line from Awesome Miner looks correct? You could also try to generate an API report to see if it contains any information from the mining software (toolbar: Tools -> API report)

Nicehash changed their reporting from GH/s to TH/s on a few algorithms, and zpool just did the same for some of them as well.
There will be a new development release within a day to adjust according to these changes.

BTC / GH / day and BTC / TH / day problem with NiceHash?

They probably changed their way of reporting again - it happens once or twice per year. I will correct that in the next development release that will be made available this week.

Hello @puwaha, does your program support the L3+? Especially the Changing Frequency function, I see on your website it only support S7 and S9.
I also would like to pay via Bitcoin if it is possible.

You should be able to add an L3+ or many other external ASICs as an "external miner".  See here:

http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/externalwizard.aspx

And the steps you take for Antminers in particular:

http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/antminerapi.aspx
As puwaha already pointed out, all Antminers, including L3+, is supported by Awesome Miner.

The frequency feature is a bit special as it was originally developed for Antminer S9. Then later batches of Antminer S9 removed the support for defining this over SSH, making it impossible to support the feature from Awesome Miner.

I don't know exactly how the frequency settings works on L3+, if they can be modified from the configuration file on the miner (/config/cgminer.conf). I would be very happy if someone with a L3/L3+ miner could try to use SSH to modify the frequency in this file, then restart the mining process (/etc/init.d/cgminer.sh restart), and see if the changes works. If that procedure works, it will also be possible to do this from Awesome Miner.

Hi Patrike, will be the Antminer D3 supported by Awesome Miner? or is allready supported?
I've not heard anything about it yet, but most likely it will work out of the box. If some statistics are missing, I will correct that as soon as possible. The D3 should of course be fully supported.

Hello everyone, I have been a member of this forum for quite a bit now and I'd like to thank everyone for the information provided in it. Up until now I've been able to tackle all my problems just by reading different posts here but today I encountered a problem to which I cannot find the solution. Once I start my Claymore miner, either via AwesomeMiner or manually, an error "EthDcrMiner64.exe has stopped working" appears. The rig is made up of two different types of cards- 2x RX480 Asus Dual 4GB and 4x RX580 Asus Strix 8GB, it has been working perfectly for a few months until this morning. I read a few articles which suggest checking the BIOS settings of the motherboard but they are perfectly okay. Other articles suggested to copy a file named "atiadlxx.dll" from the system32 folder to the miner folder but unfortunately it is missing. Has anyone seen this error and if yes, can anyone please suggest a solution to this problem? A thing that popped to my mind is to reinstall the miner  itself from AwesomeMiner but how can I do this? If I delete the last folder in "Appdata/Roaming/AwesomeMinerService/EthDcrMiner64_1" will this allow me to re-download it from AwesomeMiner?
Hi and welcome to the forum. Because you get this error both with and without Awesome Miner, it must be investigated from a Claymore miner point of view. For that reason, I will have to point you to the forum thread for the Claymore Ethereum miner:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1433925.0

Awesome Miner will automatically re-download the mining software if you remove it manually.

Has anyone gotten the new add-in json lines to work?
I added in the line in AM, but the coin is not showing up under coin stats... I see it visible on the list, im curious if im overlooking something.
Hi. Which coin did you try to add? The algorithm of the coin must be defined in Awesome Miner - either predefined or added by you. Can you let me know the json-url of the coin and I will give it a try.

Hello, tell me, I'm trying to add a new algorithm in AM, online statistics are loaded for a new algorithm, but how to specify what to dig it with?

Tell us what algo your trying to mine, so we can kinda be more specific and if its a profit miner or managed miner your attempting to use
tribus, jha, timetravel on zpool.ca - They sometimes jump very high in the price

The development (beta) versions of AM have newer versions of ccminer, but I don't know if they have the tribus algorithm specifically.  So, it's probably easier to download the version of ccminer that has tribus (look on the Denarius ANN thread first posting) and have AM upload it to the miner.  Then, from there, it's a matter of setting up your pool as normal, and when you setup the managed miner make sure you are using your custom software.

I tend to manually upload new mining software to my miners (put it somewhere easy to find like c:\miners) and then just tell the managed miner in AM to use a specific path or use the browse button to the exact path on the hard drive where I uploaded the new software.  It's super easy to open up an explorer window and get access to the remote computer's hard drive via the \\computername\c$ shares to upload new "experimental" versions of mining software.

I also load the miners myself, but here's how to get the AM to dig the chosen algorithm on a certain miner I can not figure out. I tried to indicate the trip to the mine on such a minor, so all the algorithms switched to this miner. Removal of the added miner and algorithm lines did not help, I had to reinstall AM
P.S. Forgive me for my bad English, I'm from Russia and use an interpreter

Here you go, i created a guide for ya...
Cheers
https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@storxusmc/awesome-miner-how-to-specify-custom-software-for-new-algo-s-best-mining-software-v3-2-5

If Patrike or someone sees something wrong i mistakenly did in the guide, please add info so i can make any corrections to the guide or add new info, this is how i currently go about this situation. If you cant see the pictures, just right click them and open in new tab so you can see full view image.
Thanks for the article. Looks really good!

I only have one small comment on the configuration. You specify "-a tribus" in the profit switching profile. It should also be possible to do this directly in the Managed Software properties for "Tribus CCminer", where you set it to Enabed. In the last column "User defined command line argument" you should be able to specify just "tribus".

What Awesome Miner is doing is to figure out that "-a" should be added for Ccminer to specify algorithm, and then it will simply append what you enter in this last column. So you can enter "tribus" and it becomes "-a tribus", or you can add "tribus --pimit=90W" or something else that is specific to this algorithm. This makes it possible to tweek the command line per algorithm.

Again, many thanks for the great guide and all help in this thread.

How to set Zpool currency (AM 3.2.5 dev)

According to Zpools website we should set our currency in your password field: c=<SYMBOL>.

[...]
[...]My understanding was that you only had to provide this parameter to zpool if you mine to a non-BTC wallet address.
Quote from zpool.ca:
YOU MUST ALWAYS set your currency in your password field: c=<SYMBOL>. The pool has mined hundreds of different coins and many have the same address version. We CAN NOT read your mind and possible know what currency you want. If no c=<SYMBOL> is set, your currency will be randomly chosen from any matching coins we have used. This HAS TO BE A REAL EXCHANGE SYMBOL. Do not use a symbol that has an <ALGO> added. Such as XVG-blake2s or AUR-sha or DGB-skein, these are ALL WRONG. These are used only for the pool to support multi-algo coins.
Yes, it says always, but the sentence before your quote was talking about what you need to do when you use an address for coins other than BTC. So the instructions are not very clear on this, but my interpretation is that this parmeters isn't required when you use a standard BTC address.

First of all, I did identify a scenario with Profile groups in combination with dual hashrates and the profit switcher that wasn't correct - so thanks for pointing that out before.

For the second scenario, it's important to understand that that the Profitability information in the log file is listing the primary hashrates. It might be that Decred primary hashrate is more profitable tha Sia primary hashrate, but you may have configured a different dual (secondary) hashrates for them, and when used together with Ethereum, it's their dual hashrates that is used for the calculation. Maybe I should log the dual hashrate profits as well?

You're welcome. I like to troubleshoot stuff and AM interests me so I want it to work efficiently. I hope you re-enable BTC payments soon so I can buy it, I don't have access to foreign currency (I'm from Venezuela).

About the dual hash rate. I'm not sure if you're already doing it, but I think it would probably be better if AM stored the dual hash rates separately from the single ones: ETH, SIA, ETH+SIA for example. It would also make it clearer for the user when reading the profitability screen because you could exactly specify which algorithm is the most profitable instead of just showing an asterisk. And of course, logging that would be even clearer. For reference, that's how NiceHash Miner Legacy does it:

Code:

Awesome Miner has successfully been used at many farms of this size and larger, and it works great with Antminers. Awesome Miner is very flexible and allows you to extend the functionality with your own C# scripts or by interacting with the software from external applications using the REST API.

I don't think there are any software out there with more features. Can you please share some details on what kind of functionality you are looking for? Thanks!

I this only local monitoring? I mean can i have acces to my minera where i m out of my house?

Yes, if you enable the web access.  You'll need to port forward on your router to access the computer that is running AM.
So i will need the computer to be online 24/7?

Well, yes... if you want to be able to access the web interface 24/7.  Patrike mentioned that a cloud version could be in the works later.
Thanks for your comments on this. I'm planning to have a preview of the Cloud version available within the next 1 - 2 weeks.

For the Cloud version, you will still need Awesome Miner running locally. The difference will be that instead of Awesome Miner hosting the web interface like today, with the Cloud services enabled Awesome Miner will instead push your mining statistics to a server in the cloud. Then you will use your web browser to login to this cloud server. The web interface will look exactly the same as the web interface you have in Awesome Miner today.

The benefit of the new Cloud services is that you don't have to configure firewalls anymore. You will be able to access the web interface from any Internet connected computer or phone without having to setup firewalls and VPNs.

In addition to the web interface, the new Cloud services will also bring some other features that will make Awesome Miner better.
