I have a mining farm outside my town. There are mostly S9 antminers.
I'm interested if I can use this software in only monitoring purposes, on the place at a farm there are only miners and network equipment no PC or other host devices. Is it possible to use Awesome Miner remotely ? Or I need a host computer at a farm ?
Awesome Miner needs a Windows computer to run and a network connection (either local LAN, over Internet or some kind of VPN) to the miners. Either you need to put a PC on the site, or you need to setup VPN and connect to the farm over Internet, while running Awesome Miner somewhere else. thanks for your answer, I guess a normal VPN router will do the job Lets say I have a host on site, is it possible to monitor from anywhere without using rdp or vpn? Just with AM? Awesome Miner has a built in web interface where you can monitor the mining, but it will still require you to be able to connect from your computer/mobile to the computer where Awesome Miner is running. Or was it some other kind of setup you had in mind? There is another feature I've been thinking about implementing, and that is to let Awesome Miner push CSV files or Chart images (showing miner hashrate / stats) to a FTP-server. |

I just purchased Awesome miner and so far I am very impressed.
There is something I am a bit confused about though. My rigs are mining to daggerhashimoto.eu.nicehash.com ... is it possible to set the last column to show BTC profit per day?
It works fine for all other algorithms, but Nicehash changed their API for how Ethereum/Daggerhashimoto is reported. I will update Awesome Miner to correct that. |

So far I am loving this latest dev build. Now having Privileged Access - that sticks through hard boot - to the few errant s7's I have and all my s9's is marvelous.  On custom reporting of chip temps, folks should know Bitmine changed the API tags used for boards 2 and 3. Well technically, they moved the control cable ports and that changes the tags used. Think it was batch 10 or later. Anywho I now use "Chip: " + stats.ChipTemp1 + " / " + stats.ChipTemp2 + " / " + stats.ChipTemp3 + " / " + stats.ChipTemp4 + " °C" Works for all s9 batches, just the '0' moves from spot-2 to spot-4. Thanks for the update on this. Request: Any way to make the performance graph record at least 12, preferably 24hrs? And be able to export the data as csv?
I ask because I am seeing weird behavior on a couple s7's and want to track when/how often.

Agreed, a longer period of time for history would be a great enhancement. Would it be possible to save that history with less detail for a week or even a month, and more detail for maybe 24 hours?
Logging to a csv file is desirable also.
These are good requests. Exporting to CSV will make perfect sense for larger period of times, because it will allow you to use Excel or similar to do more powerful analysis. I will put this high on the list of features to implement. |

Actually in regards to number 1 above, it seems about 20% of my rigs will not accept the Remote Agent Update so I am having to do them individually.
Could you please send me the Awesome Miner log file and what time you experience this problem? Thanks! |

I got the API working with sgminer-gm but it is missing the settings from the stock config file allowing it to run at regular speeds. Things like work size etc.
You need to define that in Device Profiles in Awesome Miner. Then you point your miner (or pool) to the Device Profile you created. Awesome Miner will not make use of any settings in the default configuration file. http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/deviceprofile.aspx |

Yes, I'm planning to do that. I couldn't find too much documentation about it, and because it doesn't provide a Wallet parameter, I assume it's passed as part of the pool URL? I just made development version 1.7.11 available, where sgminer-gm support is included. Please test it. |

I've been looking around for mining programs that have APIs to use in a Project i'm trying to make and was curious if there was another program other than CGMiner that has an API for controlling everything?
The reason why is CGMiners API is incredibly confusing when I was reading the API and it wasn't making much sense.

Sorry about the delated response on this one.
In the pool configuration in Awesome Miner you can select "Specify kernel". Does it work if you put diamond in there?
Now, it's my turn to say sorry for delay with response  Thanks a lot for advice. Yes, after typing manually "diamond" in kernel parameters, I was able to successfully run the sgminer. But the new question appeared: is it possible can set device intensity above 20? Currently it's limited to 20, because that was the maximum in the past. I can probably change that if the maximum has been incresed these days. |

There are several new features in the pipeline for Awesome Miner!

Is it possible for awesome to detect if a miner has found a block ? As a kind of counter. It would be nice to make status of different versions of miners ?
Perhaps like a new field with a notice or a flag ?
It's first of all possible to use the Rules, and define a Trigger of the type "Detect Found Blocks". Then you can define if you want a notification on similar as an action. I am having difficulty getting the mobile web browser working. I've got the port forwarded and it works on the PC that is running awesome miner. But I'm unable to get anything on my phone? Any suggestions would be great.
The first step is to verify if you can access the web interface from a web browser running on the same PC as Awesome Miner is running. If that works fine, it's most likely a firewall issue. It might not only be port fortwaring configuration on the router, but also that you have the Windows firewall or any other security software running that blocks the connection. Does it work from your mobile if you run in on your local Wifi for example? Works great on the same PC that runs awesome miner. Can't access through mobile on same wifi network. I'll check windows firewall. Hmm no luck Do you have any other computer on the same network that can access Awesome Miner web? Did you try to disable the firewall to rule out that as an issue? |

You just did it again Patrike, made API listen changes on all miners through Awesome and it took less than an hour for 100+ miners....Thumbs up for this real miner monitoring program.

Trying to mine with awesome miner, and get some very strange result  My coin is DMD. Miner is sgminer 5.4.0-nicehash-1 (also tried a nicehash-39) and the problem is, that there is only rejects on any pool  I'am suspecting, that something wrong in the --kernel parameter, it's should be "--kernel diamond", but looks like that Awesome Miner ignoring it. I've already tried to put it as an option in Miner Properties->Advanced and tried to put the --kernel diamond into miner commandline parameters (Miner Properties->Command Line), but still rejects only. Tried to put the whole miner commandline --kernel diamond --api-listen --api-allow W:127.0.0.1 --auto-fan --auto-gpu --gpu-fan 75-100,75-100 --temp-target 72,72 --temp-overheat 81,81 -I20,20 -w 256,256 -g 1,1 --gpu-engine 1075,1200 --gpu-memclock 150,150 --lookup-gap 2,2 --gpu-powertune 22,22 -o stratum+tcp://dmdpool.digsys.bg:3333 -u <myusernamehere> -p <mypasshere> -o stratum+tcp://eu.miningfield.com:3378 -u <myusernamehere> -p <mypasshere> but no effect If I will run the sgminer via CMD with this commandline - all is OK, pools are accepting shares. I have investigated this a bit more, and it looks like there is a very basic API available for cpuminer. I can probably be used to display hashrate, accepted, rejected and maybe change pool but not much more. It will also be possible to start and stop from Awesome Miner, and of course you will get notifications and all standard monitoring features. It's not supported today, but it could be added in future releases if people will find this useful. |

I would be interested in testing a development version that has fan control in addition to frequency control.
That would be handy in summer months to change settings at night when my ambient temps are lower.
You can try the feature in the development version 1.7.8. You can enable download of development versions in Options -> "Check for development versions". Then you close the Options dialog and go to Menu -> "Check for updates". You will find the Antminer Fan settings next to the existing Antminer frequency settings (In toolbar: Tools -> Antminer). I'm still not sure if the Fan feature actually is working on all Antminers. If you experience any problems, set the fan speed back to Default, and Awesome Miner will revert all changes. I did have one user that couldn't get this feature to work, but I don't have all details on that case yet. Please share any findings on this. When I tried the fan settings on my S9 it wiped all the settings and I was unable to restore to defaults from within Awesome Miner. The miner appeared offline to Awesome Miner, but I still had access via the web interface which showed all settings as blank even after a reboot. I had to perform a reset on the miner and re-enter all settings. Speed settings seemed fine though. Thanks for the feedback and sorry about the inconvenience. Setting back to Default should have worked in the latest development release, but it doesn't look that there is a way to get the Antminers to react on fan speed settings. What Awesome Miner was trying to do was to set the following in /config/cgminer.conf (or bmminer.conf on S9): "bitmain-fan-ctrl" : true, "bitmain-fan-pwm" : "80", From the information I could find on the web, it looked like it was supported on Antminers - at least in the past. Maybe it's no longer supported, and then this cannot be supported from Awesome Miner. If anyone want to experiment with the two settings above, feel free to do that. It might be that only the pwm-setting should be set. The fan setting in Awesome Miner was only available in the latest development releases, and it will be removed. I do hope that we can figure out a way to control this in the future. |
