Hi. Trying out the free version for my S3 's and love it so far. Being able to swap pools on all machines rocks.  Kudos for making such an awesome program.

My question is this. Is their a way to make it display the ASIC status for the S3?  Specifically the x count and status for the chips. Can this be defined as a custom rule or would it require something more complex?

Thanks

NM. Just found where it shows all the info I need. Love it. Upgrading later today.
Thanks for your feedback.
Great that you already found the information you were looking for. At the bottom of this page there is a guide how to show the Antminer ASIC status in the Progress field:

4382  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: What is everyone using for management of mixed miners at home? on: January 09, 2015, 06:19:23 AM
You could also take a look at Awesome Miner, that can be used to manage and monitor mining of both Bitcoin and altcoins, no matter if you are using standalone ASIC's or GPU's.

You can switch pool of all miners, or group of miners, at the same time. You also have many powerful features for notifications and rules, and Awesome Miner can detect problems with a miner and restart it automatically if you want.

You also get access to the feature Awesome Profit Switching, that are using both real-time multi-pool statistics and coin statistics to automatically switch between multiple multi-pools and different algorithms to always ensure highest possible profitability for your miners. For ASIC's you will of course not be able to switch between multiple algorithms, but between mining from  multi-pools and a single coin like Bitcoin.

4383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Whattomine - profitability website with basic api. on: January 03, 2015, 06:45:41 PM
Hi,

Thanks for a great service! I'm working on adding support for coin statistics from WhatToMine in Awesome Miner. There are some coins like MoonCoin where the exchange rate is based on Litecoin instead of Bitcoin. When looking at the API data, there is no way of telling that the current exchange rate is specified in relation to Litecoin.

Its done, you can find new variable 'exchange_rate_curr' that will list the base currency rate.
LTC is only used for Mooncoin [MOON], Fedoracoin [TIPS] and Kittehcoin [MEOW] (no longer listed as active)

I got some requests for coins that I will try to proccess tomorrow.
Many thanks! I just tried this and it works just great.
4384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Awesome Profit Switching software: TradeMyBit, West/NiceHash, LTCRabbit, more... on: January 03, 2015, 08:09:07 AM
Together with the release of Awesome Miner 1.3.1, the Awesome Profit Switcher feature has also been improved to allow more customization.

Single coin statistics from WhatToMine is now supported, and will be default for all new installations. WhatToMine is a great service with a coin API that can be used for free.

For a single coin (Litecoin for example), there are now four ways to use the coin statistics:

  • Use the coin statistics directly from the coin service (like WhatToMine)
  • Manually define coin properties like difficulty, reward in and value in either BTC or USD
  • Specify a custom profitability in BTC/MH/day, that is commonly used by multi pools for specifying profitability
  • Specify a profitability factor that will be multiplied with the calculated profit based on information from the coin service. Specify 1.15 to increase the calculated profit of a coin with 15%. This can be used to favor a specific coin in the profit switcher.

For each of the supported profit switching multi pools, a custom profitability factor can also be specified in the latest release. The profitability factor is multiplied with the reported real-time profitability of the pool, and can be used to give either higher or lower priority to specific multi pools. These settings are available in the Options dialog, Online Services section, of Awesome Miner.

The latest release also adds support for the Lyra2RE algorithm.

Supported multi-pools and algorithms for automatic profit switching
  • NiceHash (Scrypt, Scrypt Adaptive N, SHA-3 (Keccak), X11, X13, X15, Nist5, Neoscrypt, Lyra2RE)
  • WestHash (Scrypt, Scrypt Adaptive N, SHA-3 (Keccak), X11, X13, X15, Nist5, Neoscrypt, Lyra2RE)
  • LTCRabbit (Scrypt, X11)
  • Yaamp (Scrypt, Scrypt Adaptive N, X11, X13, X15, Neoscrypt, Lyra2RE)
  • Hamsterpool (Scrypt, Scrypt Adaptive N, X11)

The pool TradeMyBit has closed down and has been removed from the list of supported multi pools.

Please remember that Awesome Profit Switching works great for both GPU mining and standalone ASIC's, and up to 200 miners can be managed from a single interface. It's especially useful for Scrypt ASIC's (like KnC Titan), where you can get much higher profits by automatically selecting the most profitable pool.

Awesome Miner 1.3.1 has been released. The main focus of this release is to provide better customization of the profit levels for the multi pools and coins used by the profit switcher.

In the Options dialog, Online Services section, a custom profit factor can be defined for each multi pool service.

In the coin properties for a coin (can be found in the Coins tab in the main window of Awesome Miner), a custom profitablity or a profitability factor can be defined.

In MP profitability is determined by gh/btc/day, but it is unclear how it is determined with coins. I manually set  LTC to .000175 1 mh/s. this appears to give proper earning/day however it still mines nicehash and yamp when LTC is manually at a higher level

What is 1 mh/s and how does that relate to gh/btc/day
Hi,

Your observation is correct. When manually defining profitability for a coin like LTC, it isn't taken into consideration properly by the profit switcher. I will work on a correction for this and a new version will be available within the next few days.

I'm also looking at how to let you define a custom factor for each multi-pool as you suggested (for example to set NiceHash to 0.90 if you want to down prioritize NiceHash).

This is great. I'm a huge fan of this software. I just installed the new version and was wondering if there was a place to get the updated Awesome Profit Switching configuration, including the new Lyra2RE algo?

ditto, Patrike!

Awesome Miner 1.3 has been released. Some of the new features are described below.

Latest Sgminer 5.1 & Lyra2RE
Sgminer 5.1 from 20th of December is being used by default when Sgminer is selected, with support for Lyra2RE mining.

Awesome Profit Switcher
Updated Nicehash and Yaamp for Lyra2RE. Removed TradeMyBit as the service has been discontinued.

WhatToMine
WhatToMine is a new coin statistics source and will be used by default. The API is currently free to use and is more up-to-date than CoinChoose.

Improvements & Corrections
- Easier access to the Select All operation for miners, including keyboard shortcut. This makes the operation to switch pool for multiple miners at the same time even easier to use.
- Corrections for Antminer S4
- Fixed issue with importing multiple pools from running miners

@awesome miner : I want to purchase the enterprise edition as I have over 25 asics , but I dont have $200 in BTC .  How can I pay via credit card or paypal?
Hi,
We handled this by e-mail a few days ago, but just to let everyone else know the answer - GoCoin is currently used for processing payments, where Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dogecoin are accepted as payment methods. It's however possible for me to manually process PayPal payments as well, so please contact me by e-mail if you prefer that option.
4391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor Cg/Sgminer & ccMiner on: December 29, 2014, 08:09:03 AM
Yep I've been through the managed miner guide and it doesn't help me in the slightest. Nothing in there about USB attached ASICs.
Sorry about the delayed response during the Christmas period. I think your question is more about how to get these kind of devices to work together with Cgminer. Awesome Miner is easy to setup with standalone ASIC's (devices with its own IP) and GPU mining rigs. For USB ASIC's, this is more a question about finding the Cgminer configuration parameters to make it work.

Although Awesome Miner can manage and monitor this once it's up and running, Awesome Miner doesn't provide any built-in wizard for making this kind of setup easier.
4392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Awesome switching not working on: December 22, 2014, 08:14:44 PM
I can't get awesome switching to work. It just always goes to LTC, even when I disable LTC it just goes to the next in pool list and stays there. The only thing awesome switching seems to do correctly is keep betarigs with highest priority. All the pools have profitability stats and are entered into awesome miner
Hi Steve,

I think we have figured out why this happend in our e-mail conversation. For everyone else to know, Awesome Miner is detecting the popular multi pool services by looking at the pool URL. If the pool URL contains additional information after the port number, it may not be detected properly.

This will be addressed in future updates. Thanks for providing the information.
4393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor Cg/Sgminer & ccMiner on: December 22, 2014, 08:11:27 PM
Im still not sure Awesome miner has the ability to change pool of 20 miners with 1 click or even change all 20 miners to a new pool group at once. It seems like this would be a feature that could/should be added in the near future to change pools on all miners with one click.
This is fully possible. You can switch pool of multiple miners at the same time.

I'm attaching a screenshot so you can see what it looks like in action. You simply select multiple miners in the same way you select multiple files in Windows, use either CTRL to select many or select the first one, hold down SHIFT, and select the last one, to select all of them. You use the Switch Pool operation to change the pool for all the selected miners in one single operation.

You can either right-click to get access to the Switch Pool operation, or you can use the button in the toolbar for the same operation.

Or the ability to have a "select all" in the miners box, then right click and change pool. This is just an idea. A pool group to change all the slots in the "miner configuration" of the s3 would work best for me, as I use "load balance" and technically mine 3 pools at the same time. So I could make many different pools groups of 3 , THAT would be "AWESOME".
This concept is called Pool Groups in Awesome Miner. You can define Pool Groups (Option dialog, Pools) that contain several pools, and as soon as you switch to the pool group (in the exact same way as you switch to a single pool), all those pools will be added to you miner. This makes it possible to add 3 pools at the same time to your Antminer for example. When you define a Pool Group you can also set Priority and Quota for each pool.

Also this maybe because Im on the free version, but is there an ability to update the coins specifications? For example I mine Gamerholic SHA-256 . Is there a way to add the stats of that coin, such as block reward, block time, and an api to pull current price from the exchange.I dont see it in the list of coins for sha-256. Can I add the logo of the coin? Can I delete coins, such as "Save coin". To my knowlege, this coin is dead. Again Im testing the free version, so some/most of the coin customisation is probably possible with paid version.
There is currently no concept of removing coins. You can add your own coins in Options dialog, Coins section. This is possible in the free version as well.

If a coin has the short name GLC (GlobalCoin), you can add a PNG file (48x48) called glc.png in the folder of Awesome Miner. Next time you start Awesome Miner, that image will be used.
4394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor Cg/Sgminer & ccMiner on: December 20, 2014, 06:24:39 PM
I have a farm of (20) bitmain S3+ . Im looking for software that specifically allows me to add/change a pool, and for it to affect all 20 asics at once. The way I have to do it right now, when I want to make a change to a pool, I have to go into the console of each S3 and change it 20 times over. Can your software do this? I understand I will need the premium version as I have 20 devices, this is ok, as long as it works. If anyone can answer this and confirm it can work with bitmain for easy pool changing, I would appreciate it.
Hi,

In Awesome Miner you can select one or many miners and change the pool for all the selected miners at the same time. What you could do is to try out the Free edition of the software (just download it from the web site), where you can manage up to 2 miners. This still gives you an idea how Awesome Miner works, and if you like it, you can then decide to go for the Premium Edition with support for up to 20 miners.

UPDATE: I THINK I have my answer. It sounds like I need a patched version of Cgminer with api full access rights. Not sure where to get this, also even if I did not sure what to do even IF I could get it. If I bought premium awesome miner, is this something you could supply with specific instructions, step, by step for windows??  I seem to remember seeing a few things having to do with putty for windows to do this.
In order for Awesome Miner to change pool, Cgminer on the miner must run the API in write access mode for Awesome Miner to use. It's not a special version of Cgminer, just that it requires a command line parameter to enable this mode. The default is read-only mode, and that will only let Awesome Miner display statistics about the mining, but not change the pool or anything else.

On each miner type this is configured a bit differently, but for Antminer S3 there are other users that have figured out a quite easy way of doing it. In the web interface for Antminer S3, you can fill in a default pool (URL, worker name, password). When you fill in the password, you can supply additional parameters after the password that will become command line parameters to Cgminer.

Today your password field in the Antminer web interface for pool setting probably contains the password 'x' only. On one of your miners, please try to change this to:
x --api-listen --api-allow W:192.168.1.0/24,W:127.0.0.1

The password 'x' is still the first entry in the password field, but the additional information will make sure that all computers on the 192.168.1.X network can get access to the full Cgminer API.

Is it possible to monitor miners that use the BE200 controller?
Awesome Miner can connect to any Cgminer/Bfgminer/Sgminer with API available.

Is it possible to have mulitple renting sites active?
And when the rig rented on one site, will the other rental site then be marked dead/offline?
So the rig cannot be rent at the same time on different sites.
And if possible please let me know how to set it up.
Hi,

This will depend on which rental site you are using. Betarigs uses a concept where the pool is offline until someone rent you rig, while MiningRigRentals uses another concept where the pool stays enabled all the time, but it will mine either for one of your pre-defined pools, or to the renter's pool (but it's unknown from the outside which one that is actually being mined).

The Awesome Profit Switching feature in Awesome Miner will not change the priorities on your Betarigs and MiningRigRental pools at all - they will stay with top priority. Other than that, Awesome Miner isn't really involved in any of this, and the behavior depends more on the specific rental site and how Cgminer/Sgminer operate.

Awesome Miner v1.2.1 has just been released.

Hamsterpool is now supported by the Awesome Profit Switcher.

This version also uses the latest release of Sgminer 5.1 Beta, together with corrections for how mining software is downloaded in the automatic mode.

Happy mining!
4399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Awesome Profit Switching software: TradeMyBit, West/NiceHash, LTCRabbit, more... on: November 23, 2014, 06:47:25 PM
With Awesome Miner 1.2, the Awesome Profit Switcher feature has also been updated to include more algorithms.

Neoscrypt is supported for TradeMyBit, Nice/WestHash and Yaamp. For Yaamp, more pools have been added as well.

Supported multi-pools and algorithms for automatic profit switching
  • TradeMyBit (Scrypt, Scrypt Adaptive N, X11, X13, X15, Nist5, Neoscrypt)
  • NiceHash (Scrypt, Scrypt Adaptive N, SHA-3 (Keccak), X11, X13, X15, Nist5, Neoscrypt)
  • WestHash (Scrypt, Scrypt Adaptive N, SHA-3 (Keccak), X11, X13, X15, Nist5, Neoscrypt)
  • LTCRabbit (Scrypt, X11)
  • Yaamp (Scrypt, Scrypt Adaptive N, X11, X13, X15, Neoscrypt)

In addition to these pools, the profit switcher also uses single coin statistics and can switch to mining any single coin if more profitable than any of the pools above.

As always, you don't have to setup anything manually. Simply go to the Awesome Profit Switcher web site and download the complete pool list to automatically import everything into Awesome Miner.

Awesome Profit Switcher works for all miners on your network, both GPU mining rigs and standalone ASIC's. A single Awesome Miner instance can manage, monitor and do profit switching for up to 200 miners.

4400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor Cg/Sgminer & ccMiner on: November 23, 2014, 06:18:20 PM
Awesome Miner 1.2 has been released. Some of the new features are described below.

Sgminer 5.1
Sgminer 5.1 Beta is being used by default when Sgminer is selected, with support for Neoscrypt mining.

Worker name suffix
There is also a new features called "Worker name suffix". It is intended for those running a large amount of miners with the same pool, but want to use different worker names for each miner (for example myworker.1, myworker.2, myworker.3, ...). Previously this had to be configured as individual pools for each worker. With 50 miners this would result in 50 pools. However, with Awesome Miner 1.2 a single pool can be used, and then a suffix (1, 2, 3, ...) is specified for each miner.

Web
There are also improvements to the built-in web, that automatically refreshes the information and also give access to all notifications.

Antminer
For Antminer, additional statistics like temperature and fan speed per chain will be displayed automatically, as indicated in the Additional column below.
