Our SHA shift just paid out it's largest payment yet (21.2723 DRK), 2x the payout as last shift due to some hot coins on SHA256 right now. They're still hot to so next shift will likely be a good one too but only if more SHA256 miners hop on.

For anyone that missed the news yesterday:

I finished building us an Official Forum for Cloak - http://www.cloaktalk.org/. Anyone looking to further the cloak discussion without the presence of these toe jammers on bitcointalk feel free to join. Note that any posting of FUD in the non-FUD section will result in the automatic IP BAN.

I would like to thank all the scum on bitcointrashtalk that motivated me to build us a new forum.

Here is a step by step that is hopefully clear as crystal.  Do these things.  You're on the wrong fork.  You have to delete/re-download the block chain.  There's no getting around that.  Your issue will NEVER be resolved until you are on the correct fork.  Those files are absolutely delete-able.  The only file you need to be concerned with is your wallet.  Just don't lose it.  I've been here.  The thought of losing all your coins sucks.  But trust me...if you have your wallet file, everything will be okay.  Just follow these steps!

1.  Back up your wallet.  Important!  If you don't have a backup, you'll lose your coins!  You can also take %appdata%\CloakCoin\wallet.dat and rename it for the time being, but never ever take a chance to make a backup of your wallet.

2.  Delete everything in %appdata%\CloakCoin.  This will be like you're installing the wallet for the first time.

3.  Go get the latest cloakcoin.conf from http://cloak.blockexplorer.cc/nodes/download.php  (save it to %appdata%\CloakCoin)

4.  Get the latest wallet exectuable file and dll's - Currently 1.9.6 (https://mega.co.nz/#!UVkBxRZL!vkCnV39KLPdVSuyp-AKEsr94uWvD5kEHyMHF9G379H4).  Put these where ever you like - in a folder on your desktop, wherever.

5.  Start the wallet (this will create a brand new fresh Cloak address - don't worry, we'll replace this wallet with your backup).

6.  Let it download the entire block chain.  The whole thing.  All 56 thousand + blocks.  Don't do anything until the wallet shows it is synced.  If it gets stuck, restart it.

7.  Verify you're on the correct fork - Help -> Debug Window -> Console.  Type getblockhash <blocknumber>  Choose a block to compare against.  Make sure your wallet is on the same fork as the block explorer.  If you're unsure how to do this, ask.  Do not proceed to step 8 until your wallet is synced and verified on the correct fork.

8.  Close the wallet.

9.  Replace %appdata%\CloakCoin\wallet.dat with the backup you made in step 1.

10.  Start the wallet again.

11.  Go to Help -> Debug Window -> Console and type "repairwallet" (no quotes)

Being new sucks.  It's scary when you have potentially thousands of dollars tied to one file.  And then something weird happens and you think all your money is gone.  I wouldn't wish that feeling on anyone.

You downloaded the entire blockchain already?  The wallet is synced?

More than likely - if you staked on the wrong fork, then the repairwallet will fix you up when you're on the correct fork.

Personally, I would let the wallet sync the whole block chain first.  Just let it run until it has synced.  You may need to restart it a couple times.  Just be patient.  When it is complete,

1.  close the wallet,

2.  put your wallet file in %appdata%\Cloakcoin

3.  start the wallet back up.

4.  Go to Help -> Debug Window -> Console and type "repairwallet" (no quotes).

yes - back it up to your desktop or a thumb drive.  Just make sure you have a backup.

It is step 2 of the *original* process:

2. Get rid of the entire appdata\roaming\cloakcoin folder

Make sure to back up your wallet (outside of this folder)!!

Delete and re-download the blockchain from scratch.  Sorry - I think TheDagger posted one somewhere so it can give you a head start...

A couple things you can do:

1) Get the latest Cloakcoin.conf file -> http://cloak.blockexplorer.cc/nodes/download.php

2) Add it to %appdata%\CloakCoin.

3) Restart your wallet and see if it will catch up.

Also - check to make sure you're on the right fork.  You can verify by going to Help -> Debug Window -> Console.  In that window type:  getblockhash <blocknumber>   Replace <blocknumber> with whatever block number you want to compare the hashes against.  Pick the latest one you can.  For example, if your wallet is stuck on block 55000, type:  getblockhash 55000.  Then compare that hash with the hash of that block in the block explorer.  If they don't match, you're on the wrong fork.  If they do, then you're on the right fork, but just behind.

If all that fails and you're on the right fork, back up your wallet, get that Cloakcoin.conf file and re-download the entire block chain from scratch.  Your coins are safe as long as you have your wallet file.

Edit:  It can and has taken me previously more than 20-30 minutes for it to sync the entire block chain.  At one point I had to restart the wallet several times for it to finish syncing.  This was several versions ago though.  I've not had any issues since I did that.

I might have this problem too.  I am not sure how the staking behavior works, so I could be wrong.  But based on what I have read, I may have a problem.

My wallet shows a balance, but stake has been at zero for days.  The mouseover on the cloak icon tells me my weight, the network weight, and expected reward earning time.  Wallet is up to date.

So do all your coins automatically stake, or what does "stake" refer to?
