1224  Bitcoin / Hardware / minersource.net on: April 26, 2014, 02:20:53 PM
I want to thank Matt from minersource.net who's sending out the two 8pin and one 4 pin connecting ribbons that Bitmain lost . Minersource clearly goes above and beyond for their customers. After contacting Minersource inquiring if they would sell me the ribbons they've gone and sent them out free of charge.I can't understand how Bitmain could fail on such a small issue considering I bought the equipment from them, a problem that they caused failed to admit to, then turned their back on me.
Again a huge thanks to Matt at Minersource.net going above and beyond to help me out.
1225  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: April 26, 2014, 01:53:49 PM
This happened to me no lights, fan came on instantly when turned on, was able to connect to it, set it up, pools said alive  but hash rate was zero! I had someone help me ( this person has a mining farm) He confirmed for me s1 was faulty, I contacted Bitmain they asked me to disassemble miner and send back parts, I complied sent back two hashing boards one controller board and voluntarily sent the connecting ribbons. Two weeks later received s1 back only to find  they've sent back my old hashing boards and controller complete with thermal paste minus connecting ribbons ( 2 8pin  and 1 4pin ). You can guess how I feel right now.

Yeh I would know how that feels, same feeling when UPS told me my antminer was delivered and signed for when clearly it wasn't me.

Well If I were in your shoes I would contact bitmain and ask for the ribbons, and at the same time, probably go down to some electronics or security alarm shop and see if they got connecting ribbons, there should be enough images on the net to work out which is pin1 on both ends. Just get one blade working first
probably take them  a few days to get back to me, a few days to decided if there going to send the ribbons, then a few days to deliver it, then I'll waste another night of my life setting up and trouble shooting the faulty equipment that they just sent back.....I'm only home one week out of the month, I can't get back the three nights wasted trouble shooting, or the next there nights sleeping on the couch because my wifes mad I wasted the the first three nights. I guess its hit or miss with these s1's. I'm betting nothing gets resolved  that's why there isnt a phone number to call or support on there website. As far was this thread goes ... only help I can see is from fellow bitcoiners. Where's Bitmain? Where's the support ? I referred here first when I reported the problem, they must think we don't read the tutorials. I better stop now before I say things I can't delete.......

It official Bitmain screwed me... They emailed me back saying I never sent the ribbons...

I want to thank Matt from minersource.net who went  above and beyond. He's sending me the connecting ribbons. Can't tell you how much I appreciate it.
1226  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: AntMiner S1 0.831 BTC or We take $$$ NINJATECH.ORG -BITMAIN OFFICIAL DISTRIBUTOR on: April 24, 2014, 11:44:01 PM
Greater ninja I'm sadly looking for someone to sell me the two 8pin ribbons (connecting the hashing boards to the controller), as well  the 4pin ribbon which supplies power to the controller. Bitmain has lost the ones I sent back with the faulty s1 and refuses to send out new ones stating I never sent them, and refuses to sell me new ones telling me too buy from my local market. Please I paid almost a full bitcoin for this s1 a month and a half and has yet to work.
1227  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: any. thoughts on bit solo mining pool on: April 24, 2014, 11:29:50 PM
Came across this site was wanting to solo mine my s1 there if I can can ever get it running(long story)they claim to give the founder of a block the full 25 minus transaction fees for pool as well they are merged mining namecoin and keeping any name coin found for keeping pool up and running

If you are talking about the solo pool set up by Ozcoin, They are legit.

He's not, he's talking about this:
http://bitsolo.net/

Oh, i thought he meant solopool.net. This is why people need to be clear about what they are asking. We can't read minds.
I'm glad you answered it gives me another option to look at.
1228  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S1 connecting ribbons needed on: April 24, 2014, 05:47:49 PM
How could they forget to send the ribbons? They should send them to you additionally then? I don't know where to buy them but you should be able to find at least something Like It which should work too.
believe me I was shocked by their response that I didn't send them nor did they offer to sell me a new set , and when I asked to buy them I was told to buy from my local market. I have doubts they even fixed the antminer s1
1229  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S1 connecting ribbons needed on: April 24, 2014, 12:35:46 PM
Thanks for the support

1231  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Scam List on: April 23, 2014, 11:33:22 PM
Add. Bitmain... sold me a faulty s1 then asked me to disassemble it to send back only hashing boards and controller. I complied threw in the 3 connecting ribbons for good measure in case of broken wires..... Two weeks later they sent back the same equipment minus the 3 ribbons. When I emailed them the ribbons were missing they told me I didn't send them and added a frownie face in the email. 650 dollars thrown out the window. Don't trust them I'm reading more and more. People in the setup and trouble shoot are having the same problems. So basically this is what I learned they don't give fuck that your miners not working or that they fucked up and forgot the wires that connect it....... ohhhh so sorry better luck next time is what they might as well have said. Don't chance your money with Bitmain.
Sorry to hear about your trouble, I hope you are up and hashing soon.

Bitmain are not a scam, I personally own an S1 and an S2. Both are hashing right now.

Scams are companies that take your money and literally do not have a product, and never will have a product. They won't ship you anything, ever. That is what this thread is for.
they called me liar and refuse to send thhe parts they lost as well as sending back the parts I already had, the thermal paste is still on the boards has same Smear pattern from when I took them off. Ya OK not a scam, but scammers for not doing their part as a business upholding their end. You get broken equipment your basically fucked..... FUCK Bitmain

Seems crazy but I need to buy the connecting ribbons (2-8pin and 1-4pin) for my s1. I sent back my faulty s1 ant  and  they forgot to send back the  ribbons , then told me I didn't send them when I contacted them about it! Any help appreciated.

Bump

1237  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: New to buying Bitcoins wanna buy a substantial amount for silkroad marketplace? on: April 22, 2014, 03:16:11 AM
does anyone know what there doing ?

Yes.

my point is i'm looking for someone to point me in the right direction on what to do add bitcoin currency so i can buy some cool stuff off silkroad.

I wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole.

Ask Charlie Shrem about what happens when you knowingly assist someone who states they want bitcoins for the purpose of spending on silk road.
what is silk road?

1240  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S1 Issues on: April 22, 2014, 02:48:46 AM
Sold me one, it wouldn't hash, finally got a hold of them, was asked to disassemble hashing boards, I complied sent both boards and controller and threw in the  two 8pin ribbons the other four pin ribbon. Two weeks later get back same equipment, thermal paste a and all still stuck to it  minus the ribbons. Now what ? Can't even see if they've actually replaced the equipment because the ribbons were not sent back. Bullshit if you ask me. Was reading the Bitmain setup and troubleshoot thread. Guess what I'm reading other people with exact same hashing problem.... wonder if they will ask them to disassemble the rig too...sadly disappointed in my 650 dollar loss
