I always wonder is it really possible. And if it is possible then how do you do that. I have seen another topic from a guy and he also offers wallet recovery.

Yes, you either use brute force, dictionary attack, mask attack, hybrid attack or machine learning if you have a part of the password or some guesses.

I can do a couple of billion guesses a second so it pretty quickly adds up if you have a fair amount of computer power and a fair guess what the password might be.

244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Anyone Help Me Gain Access To My Wallet.dat File on: February 05, 2019, 01:59:13 PM
Hello, i have my wallet.dat file. I lost the file with the password to access it as the password was randomly generated. I am unable to do any thing now. I opened the file with notepad ++ and it looks like this.

I tried decrypting it with openssl but it asked for password to decrypt. If anyone can help me gain access to it, he'll be rewarded good amount of the recovered balance.

P.s. i also tried contacting dave from btc recover but he isn't responding back.

You need custom tools to do this properly.

I need help recoveering my old wallet. I have the passphrase, but i need to know what version i need to install to input the phrase, so it will be recognized. Willing to pay upon completion of recovered funds Xbtc

If you are familiar with python, then you can use pywallet.py to dump your key, then you can import it into a lightwallet like electrum.

Pywallet can be downloaded from here: https://github.com/jackjack-jj/pywallet (its opensource)

Electrum can be downloaded here: https://electrum.org/#download

Good luck

247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: guidance "recovering" bitcoin. on: January 29, 2019, 04:59:40 PM
Hello Everyone, bit of a odd, embarrassing, question here.

I got some bit coin a while ago, and I plan to hold on to it for a while. I didn't forget that I have it , I just kinda lost touch with the technology. and I am not sure how to access the coins now.

While I don't want to sell it today , I want to make sure I still "have" access to it, and can sell it when I want, or use it to buy stuff.
I stored it on a computer, that I no longer use, but I can still access the files( for now). I might have a wallet address.

The original program I was using required a large download, I think it was like 5 gig at the time, it was the block chain I think.

How do I go about "finding", and regaiing contorll of my coins ( I have some lite coin as well to )  - you can assume I am as noob as it comes.

Links to help guides are also appreciated.
Cheers.

Maybe you should clarify WHAT you have,

1) Is it a wallet.dat file?
2) is it a blockchain.com online wallet login or backup file?
3) Do you have a 12/24 word backup mnemonic phrase?
4) When was the coins purchased and when was the last time you accessed them?

Hello I have to receive important funds on my address that I had generated randomly but impossible to get my private key. Would there be a way to find her?
1ZYCAZDis1rAZpgttUh3ViQcpJokraH3F

If you could write
1) What software did you generate the address with
2) How did you ask for funds to be transferred (Mail, exchange, chat)
3) When did this occur in time?

Then its easier to track and help you

249  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Do I need to compile a wallet each time I do changes to it? on: January 27, 2019, 06:40:18 PM
Hi. I was wondering if there's any faster way to see how the wallet is looking like / functioning, than compiling it each time after changes?

Depends on what platform you develop, there are packages where you see live upgrade without the need to compile all packages again, like in xcode

IBM just released a new quantum computer, but it will still take a few years before applications can use its full potential.

See press release here: https://www.engadget.com/2019/01/08/ibm-q-system-one-quantum-computer/

its 20 qubit

//Andre

Wake me up when they release 3000 qubit QC.

See you in 2050.

there are already 100 qubit boxes, and rumors of 500 qubit at military/goverment facilities in China.

That wakeup call may come sooner than you think Smiley
Doubt it, actually it will be delayed like for another more 30 years. Things get messy when the number of qubits increases. Meet my grand son in 2080.

So what about this:

50 Qubit onsale online
https://www.engadget.com/2018/01/09/this-is-what-a-50-qubit-quantum-computer-looks-like/?guccounter=1
D-Wave claims to have 2000 Qubit

Google had 75 qubit 10 months ago
https://thenextweb.com/artificial-intelligence/2018/03/06/google-reclaims-quantum-computer-crown-with-72-qubit-processor/
Rigetti has 128 qubit chip

Still think its gonna take several decades?

Guess NSA has one tooo...

252  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What languages do I need for blockchain programming? on: January 15, 2019, 09:42:46 AM
I am trying to get into blockchain programming from having no programming experience, right now I am slowly learning C++, once I feel a little comfortable with it I am going to start learning blockchain development from courses regardless of the languages they use (which shouldn't be a problem because learning C++ is to give me the knowledge of programming in general and to apply C++ as well). But I see all of these different githubs and courses that use javascript and javascript derived languages (node.js, react.js, etc), those that use c++, those that use python, those that use GO, and I am at a loss. What should I learn exactly? Do I need to know all of these languages for not too complex blockchain applications?

My plan was to just learn c++ and then start studying the blockchain programming while learning the syntax of other languages as I need them, but how can you make a blockchain, cryptocurrency, explorer, wallet, etc utilizing all of the languages above? Do I need to?

First decide WHAT you want to build. There are so many things to start, the easiest would be just to look at explorers or fork a piece of code on Github.

Dont make the project to big, start small, have it made to work and work your way up.

Udemy has great blockchain courses https://www.udemy.com/the-basics-of-blockchain/

its a good start

257  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is there anyway to get my bitcoins back? on: January 06, 2019, 06:53:14 PM
So i bought some bitcoins on 2014 and i had them on my multibit wallet. I had sent the "wallet" to my email but im not sure if i did it correctly back then. So now i have a wallet file in my email but when i open it with the multibit classic it says there is no money in there. I also dont remember my "keywords". So i was just wondering if there is any way i could get my bitcoins back?  Huh

So first, there are several versions of multibit wallets, which version are you using now? classic or HD? (in About option, Help on Linux/Win or Multibit on MACs)

Do you know if wallet version from your OLD original wallet? there are several versions like protobuf, serialised and HD

Are you using MAC, LINUX or WINDOWS?

If your transaction is confirmed, you can reset the wallet by:

Click on the wallet in the 'Wallets' side panel to make it the active wallet.
Go into the 'Tools | Reset Block chain and Transactions' menu option.
Click on the 'Reset block chain and transactions' button and let MultiBit Classic sync the block chain. Just leave MultiBit Classic to work its way through the sync.

You should then see the transaction in your wallet.

If not, I would send an email to their support at support@multibit.org

Good luck!

259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Forgot the password on: December 21, 2018, 07:05:16 PM
I have the "bitcoin-wallet-backup-" file but i forgot the password, how can i restore it?

You have several options. First you need to decide, should you crack it yourself or find a service.

Option 1) find a service. You can use walletrecoveryservice (bitcoin dave) but he is quite busy and won't take the deal if the wallet is small. You can hire my service (http://keychainx.io) an American company with private investors and one of the biggest GPU farms offered as a service. We are quite young as a company, but our hackers/crackers were legendary in the cracking business in the 80s/90s and have more experience in password cracking than the age of most of the users on this forum. You could also hire the many "self proclaimed" services who will PM you in private

Option 2) You crack it yourself. First you need to download a few tools, have python installed and have at least a GPU rig to do the job. You should follow these steps:

1) get python from here: https://www.python.org/downloads/
2) Get john the ripper from https://www.openwall.com/john/
3) run bitcoin2john.py to get the hash
4) get at least half a dozen of GPUs
5) There are several tools, but my favorite is hash cat, get it here: https://hashcat.net/hashcat/
6) Get a dictionary for your password attack from here: https://weakpass.com
7) knock yourself out. Be patient, don't give up.  Wink

And most truly of all, if you have the wallet, you are safe, nobody can take your coins.

260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Wallet locked 131BTC for help on: December 21, 2018, 06:38:07 PM
John is using CPU cracking. That's probably not even worth a try.

You should try to crack the password with your GPU (e.g. btcrecover is able to use your GPU).

But without any clue what the password might be AND it being longer than 6-7 chars, your chances are pretty much zero.
If you, however, do have a clue what the password might be (this includes information such as length (minimum and maximum length), char set (e.g. only alpha numerical), common patterns (e.g. always 123 at the end), etc..) your chances rise drastically. Even with a longer password.

有人已经在网上分享了这个钱包文件,但不知道真假文件。我没有去尝试下载。也没有兴趣。
www.baidu.com 131btc
www.google.com 131btc忘记密码
可以搜索一下相关帖子。

Someone has already shared this wallet file online, but I don't know the true and false files. I did not try to download. Also not interested.
Www.baidu.com 131btc
Www.google.com 131btc忘记密码
You can search for related posts.

I don't think you will get much help here. You are already posting in this thread with three different nicks and the wallets is shared on several forums. It is also supplied to various sites like the Russian hashcrack forum and jubtc (not counting several Chinese sites) so don't count on any special treatment.

Three different sources has also asked my service to crack it, with same screenshots, but with different hashes...
