1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need Explanation on Defi on: December 14, 2023, 02:26:07 PM

Lately have been trying to get the full details explanation on Defi but I don't seem to get a suitable one .

I need to know It's importance and how it works not in term of the token.
Also , what does the token has to do with it or is it unrelated at all??

This is a generic message or lets call it request; and with this approach you would not be able to understand what defi is.
In a broader general sense; defi means decentralized finance.

  • if you relate it to a token; it indicates freedom for everyone either young, or old or middle age to be able to mint/create a token. Thats decentralization
  • if you relate it to what a token has to do; then defi says that, everyone has the freedom, choice and the opportunity to freely issue a token and peg an utility to the token contract.

Either token creation, token contract utility, token launch, token sales, and even trading of tokens; they are all related to defi. So if you specify even further more what you want to know about in DEFI; You will get more help and explanations definitely.

Ball is in your court.

One of the things that affecting Nigeria Football Premier League is the lack of good management and poor funding. And also from the federal government. Because the FG neglect the sport sector so everything is just self and management control. The government has to build sports TV stations to broadcast the local leagues for people to watch and that will promote the NFPL.

On the other hand, the npfl league needs to seek progress and growth away from the government. With financial independence and good commitment, the league can prosper without anyone hodling them behind.

The league needs to find Broadcast deals themselves and make the most out of it
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Nigeria Premier League/Players Discussion Thread on: October 21, 2023, 01:17:51 PM
Of course NPFL can have radio stations and television channels that can be licensed to broadcast their games. But they will have to do more than that to make the league lively. they need to attract investors into the local league, they need to be doing jingles on television and radio stations to attract more fans to come out and watch games, so they too can attract more revenue to themselves. if these things are done, you will see the league gradually coming back the glory days.

I believe there are plans in place to do that and also to achieve that; with pending deal waiting to be agreed between the NPFL and Startimes or NPFL and Supersport. Once broadcasting agreement is reached; we can now ask clubsides (most are govt owned) to have their state tv stations to broadcast their games live for more publicity.

So far, the NPFL is taking baby steps, their leadership needs to be sacked so that the NPFL can prosper.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: October 10, 2023, 08:02:13 AM

In terms of scheme and possession of the ball they are not lacking because PSG still always dominates in every match they do, it's just that the final solution still cannot be said to be good. They still need to maintain the chemistry of the players for this because sometimes poor finishing occurs because their attack line is not yet integrated.

PSG performances in the champions league against Newcastle United is unacceptable and Enrique is rightly feeling the heat. On the contrary, i think the manager is finding iot hard to build attacking or defensive rythm after signing lots of players at the start of the season. The coach definitely has to do better; with Bans coming up for few players including Muani; time is right for Enrique to proof himself.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ballon d'Or discussion and odds on: October 10, 2023, 07:55:43 AM
I do think that the majority of every football fan do believe that Haaland will get this but we should also remember that not every year the one that deserves it the most ended up getting it. Lets realize that Messi won the world cup and the world of football may want to give him the reward one last time.

One thing about the Balon d'or is that it is a sentimental award; it doesnt necessarily satisfy and rewards based on activity on the football pitch; but rather on the sentiments of voters who are (country captains, club captains, journalists etc). Who ever wins between Haaland and Messi; just know they got the most votes

Shooting Stars Vs Plateau United

Get involved!!!!!

I got involved and streamed the 3SC game live on the NPFL webpage; it was a good experience to be honest. If the broadcast deal improves, we can expect the camera angles, and camera quality to get better too. Shooting stars won the game with 2 goals to one, with Plateau United drawing a goal back after going 2 nil down.

Did you watch the Nigeria Premier Football League this weekend ?

9  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Paxful suspends their Marketplace on: September 29, 2023, 11:16:21 PM
After so many weeks of struggling to allow withdrawals Paxful has officially suspends its marketplace and has advice it’s customers to withdraw their funds immediately from the exchange.

This is definitely a bad news to many especially Africans who were the major customers on this exchange. Is this the right time to ditch Centralized exchanges for decentralized one’s totally?

Well, One news is that Paxful is back and running as they have resumed operations for couple of weeks now. Same website!!!
Also, all funds and debts were restored to user accounnts.

Then Nigerian should a sport station which they can use to broadcast their sport activities without begging for a television station to broadcast it for them. Nigeria has the resources to make her sport festival great but the management of NPFL is highly corrupted that everything is woe. Even the selection of players from the local team level to the national team is from favourism, man know man. The broadcasting of the league should be done on TV and Radio but it is only Radio news we heard about this events.

NPFL can make the local league to the standard one but their siphoning the money to do another things so dem no fit use am do.

I do not think this is about corruption or siphoning or any of that; this is about tv rights, broadcast rights which are the main source of revenue for football leagues; Expecting them to continue to be free or subsidized is why Nigerian league cannot go back to its previous glory where they dominate African tournaments.

Want Nigerian broadcast stations to air live league games? Find sponsors; connect them to the broadcast channel and this is easily resolved.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Nigeria Premier League/Players Discussion Thread on: September 26, 2023, 08:03:07 PM
Streaming it live it's my problem only if they can be showing it on our local television stations like they should be consistent even on Gotv, Startimes and DStv. Not after week 1 or 2 they'll stop and we have to hear it from the news or something.
The App should have been free till the end of the season, because this is one part of promoting our league and we all know they (NFF) haven't been doing well in the past so they can use this season to redeem themselves.

We have to be realistic in our demands haha. Even in ENGLAND; The English premier league is not broadcast for free in their television stations; you need to subscribe to ESPN, Skysports separately for a champions league and EPL Coverage. We cannot continue to demand subsidy in our sports and hope that they become better.

This season the NPFL has taken the right step in the right direction, securing live streaming broadcast rights with MTN & Propel; and presently they are negotiating with Supersports and Startimes for a 5 year broadcast deal that will ensure television coverage.

If the app is free usage until the end of the season; how would partners earn? how would advertisement be achieved? Its a fair deal from all parties.
Its time to embrace our own too.

The annoying aspect of it all is that the money is there to use in running these promotions but embezzlement won't let them do the needful to make the NPFL stand out among major leagues in Africa. What stops them from streaming it live on at least in the national TV station like NTA sports station to use it in creating awareness and capturing the interest of Nigerians to beam towards the league. If not that I gambling most of times I wouldn't know when these matches are scheduled, it's only when I get to the gambling shop that I have to see the fixtures being pasted on their board and that's very bad for a league like this.

I think this is faux outrage; no where in the world can your stream league games live (except illegal streaming platforms); no where are games shown live on televisions too; you need to pay special subscription fee always.

What can the NPFL DO? Since most clubsides are state owned in the country; they can secure a broadcast deal to ensure that every home game matchday is broadcast live; for example, Shooting Stars home game live on Bcos, Bendel Insurance games live on Edo television (to achieve this, clubsides need to source for worthy partnerships amongst others).

Seeing Liverpool's strength, of course, they are the favorites

Liverpool strength is not new and the team has been elite for a long while too; they just had an injury ravaged season inn the previous campaign which derailed their performance and forced them down only to Europa league spot in the previous campaign. Can Liverpool push for the Europa league title and top 4 simultaneously? Time will tell
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Nigeria Premier League/Players Discussion Thread on: September 25, 2023, 09:28:24 PM

We shouldn't be too happy about the resume of our league because they can make a decision that would shock the public by changing the date, for me I won't say yes they have resumed not until I see the kick off on Saturday.
What's really the hold up in letting our league to get started? We're suppose to be seeing our games already on before now, and they're saying no sponsor or something that's holding it, all these should have been done long before now (is not bad for us to resume our league same date as the EPL). Too bad coming from NPFL and I just wish they play the league like normal and this super 6 of a thing I don't fancy it all, why can't we see our league like other country leagues. Well until they kick off on Saturday for now I don't believe them (NPFL) yet.

i understand your position to be honest (its sha naija!)
None the less, i bring good news. The NPFL Live streaming platform will be free for all users for game week 1 and game week 2 of the NPFL!!!! The android app is live and working while the ios will be released shortly

DOWNLOAD

Remember, once the free views end, you have to subscribe to the NPFL App to stream matches every week cheaply (i think its 3500 naira monthly, we await official price).
LFG!!!!!
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: September 24, 2023, 10:24:04 PM
Each time I see the big boys of Ligue 1 beating teams like Marseille I just see it as something that normally happens in that league.
So annoying that no team can stand up and make life a living hell for PSG, as it stands they (PSG) are superior over other teams and if you have to set the PSG team to go out and make name for them self you see them acting like under dogs especially in the champions league.
That's the issue with this PSG team, well for now I don't think there's any team in that Ligue 1 that can represent, they should all be playing only their domestic league instead.

Well teams are trying to match up to PSG in the French league, but they do not have the owners from QATAR; How can they match up? Clubsides need money to buy quality players and challenge; not many in French league can afford to do so. Still the league is still challenging in its best money.

Nice is doing its best to challenge PSG, I think that counts for something.

Harry Kane is performing well for Bayern Munich

Harry Kane is loving life in Germany with Bayern Munich; with an hattrick and 2 assits in today tie against Bochum; Harry Kane has scored his first hattrick for Bayern Munich; his first hattrick in the bundesliga and also the first player to have 10G/A in their first 5 bundesliga games.

If this continues; then it seems that Kane will fill in perfectly the burden left when Lewandoski left for Barcelona.
16  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Breaking News: Cardoso assume duty as CBN governor. on: September 22, 2023, 07:13:43 PM
Dr Olayemi Micheal Cardoso who was recently nominated by our gallant president Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the new Governor of central bank of Nigeria and he has formally assumed duty at the Apex bank in an acting capacity pending the confirmation of his appointment by the Senate, I believe that the Senate will not turn down the appointment. The development follow the formal resignation of Mr Godwill Emefiele, I think this new Governor of CBN look like someone that will bring BTC back to Nigeria by lift the banned the formal CBN governor has banned BTC so that those that have interest on BTC by using it to buy goods and service like the way El Salvador and other government that made it legal tender. I have full confident in this new government that they will do something good to improve the youth of Nigeria, and to improve the economy the previous government has nearly collapse.

I think another way to introduce the news is to say that Dr Olayemi Micheal Cardoso illegally resumes his role as acting governor of the cbn. CBN is an independent body which has been politicized by the apc government. Cardoso has no right under the law to assume the role after nomination without being passed by the senate. The illegality has to stop!

18  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: ARE THEY MAKING MONEY FROM FLOOD? on: September 19, 2023, 07:27:21 PM
Are they profiting from floods?
What has caused the increase in disastrous floods, and can't the government do something to mitigate the issue?

Every where in the world; disasters are an avenue to make money; either from NGOs or Politicians. Why?
For every natural disaster (both avoidable ones and unavoidable ones); there are relief funds, relief foods and more to be embezzled; if you put it right into the Nigeria political context; the answers to why we have terrible drainage systems and awful Emergency system in place speaks volume.

Evidence?

If you read up about the flood that happened last year due to Cameroon opening up their Dam; you will realize that relief foods, funds etc were not distributed and citizens found out about this about 9 months later when the warehouse was discovered.

Funfact? This year, Cameroon will open their dam again and Nigeria has not yet created a water path to prevent last year flooding. Sums up how Nigeria politicians and NGOs make money easily, every year from FLOODD!!!

Propel Sports and MTN Gets the NPFL Broadcast Rights

Big news as the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) gets a broadcast sponsor to make the league games available to viewers in the simplest form!!!
The NPFL signed the broadcast deal with Propel Sports and MTN!!! Propel Sports and MTN will then proceed to create an NPFL APP were the league games can be streamed LIVE by all MTN subscribers; while other subscribers can watch highlights only.

There are criticisms about the NPFL broadcast deal,

  • do you think MTN is right to make the viewership available in real time to only MTN subscribers?
  • do you think the NPFL is wrong to have agreed to such censorship ?

Lets discuss while we await a new league starting and ending time!!!

He should be the third best player when they finally awards the best players in the world after Lionel Messi, and Erling Haaland when they finally get to announce the Ballon d'or winner next year January.

I do not think Kylian Mbappe can be amongst the top 3 players this year best player award; he has fallen off radar thanks to Erling Haaland masterclass treble season with Manchester city and Lionel Messi triumphant worldcup campaign. Mbappe also had an excellent worldcup performance; but i do not think that willl be enough for him

Mbappe needs the Real Madrid move desperately, to push his media hypes and be more recognized for the world prized event.
