1721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SMAC - Social Media Advertising, Market Live on Bittrex! on: April 08, 2015, 03:17:14 PM
When the SMAC market place is released we should do this if the Devs are down for it OFC https://www.thunderclap.it/pricing i am willing to pay 50% possibly even 100% of the funds for the PRO Option $500, if we did this media hype campaign and at the same time used the social media accounts backing SMAC and by that time we should have a considerably larger reach easily into the millions by that stage possibly 10s of millions if we did this together with the thunderclap campaign we could really cause a storm and as i said market it not so much like a cryptocurrency like bitcoin but as a tool you can use  to enter, start making revenue and even start a small business or company  in the social media marketing industry, you will bring in a lot of people who are not interested in crypto this way, i think before doing this if it were to happen would be a SMAC-USD exchange website  because if you advertise it this way people from outside of crypto will be coming in and you want to make it as easy as possible to acquire SMAC, just an idea i wanted to throw out there for the Devs and Community.

It's exactly for doing stuff like this that the name change would be useful.  People who are already invested in SMAC are exceptions.  If it is to become more of a financial/trading tool or instrument then we need to attract money from as many people as possible.

Like it or not and I speak from both experience and education in this area of human psychology, if you have a frivolous or jokey name for anything relating to money (where people are by default risk averse) then you run the risk of excluding a huge number of "normal" (i.e. non crypto) people which would be required to take this to the next level.

In this regard a more boring name like SMART (or something equally benign) that is still easy to remember and without negative connotations would be less likely trigger any unconscious bias against it.

Please guys think about this more deeply and don't think about what name appeals more to you (you are already here), think about what kind of name would appeal to your parents, friends, doctor, optician, teacher, postman, librarian - anyone who currently would not think about cryptocurrencies but in the future might be looking to alternatives to the currently broken banking/pensions/investment tools.

It is these regular people who will make such things true successes and it is for those people that a renaming/rebranding would be required.

I'm only pushing this because I think it will benefit us all in the long term and right now it would be comparatively painless.

I disagree....I really like the name! Plus I don't think changing a coin name is that simple. They already have the ticker on BITTREX and coinmarketcap, and the wallets, and newsletters, and website domain and the logo and on and on.

I pronounce it S - M - A - C (spelled out) but even if you call it smac, it still has a nice ring. Plus SMAC says exactly what the coin is with the least amount of words possible.

I honestly think SMAC is the perfect name for this project.

Well that's why I'm suggesting discussion on it.  My personal problem with it is that it sounds unprofessional.  You may spell it out but most people are going to pronounce it "smack".

I don't see how something that relates to hitting someone or to heroin has a nice ring to it and I doubt anyone who is interested in serious investment would either.

Also changing a coin name is pretty easy particularly when it is still small - numerous coins have done it already.

Anyway I don't want to ram my opinion down people's throats but would appreciate some real input on why SMAC is or isn't a good name.

Whether we like it or not branding (including the name and logo) is vitally important - anything less than professional will be severely hampered in it's success.  Why handicap something in this way when you don't have to?

I think the name SMART is a good compromise in that it retains the first three letters and doesn't have any potentially negative connotations.
I like "SMART"  a lot.
Although penn is right it would be very difficult to rebrand.

I think any difficulty now would be worth it in the long run and would allow people to take the concept more seriously once it does get big.  Although I don't agree with the Dark renaming to Dash (which I think is a worse name) it seems to have been accomplished without any major issues and by comparison SMAC is embryonic.

Would probably be best to change to a more professional sounding name before this gets more attention - would be good to get the community opinion on this?  "SMART" (Social Media, Advertising and Related Technologies) - is one possibility.

Not quite sure what you are trying to say tom.

He probably wants to know the path to the wallet.dat file on a Mac. Wink
yeah, you're right!)

Sorry for my poor English Roll Eyes

Where Username is your actual account username and yes it is the same for all coins - they are all in Application Support unless you manually move them.  I normally drag the Application Support Folder into the Finder sidebar (which creates a shortcut there) so I can easily access it.
1727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SMAC - Social Media Advertising, Market Live on Bittrex! on: March 21, 2015, 04:09:09 PM
The buy back will help put SMAC back on the grid. You all know there is a buy back coming right?

Well if the first buy back doesn't boost the price to ICO level, the second or third almost certainly will. And once that happens, what will happen on the NEXT buy back? And keep in mind, each buy back not only increases the price, but it gets tons of coins off the market making your coins far more valuble.

That's why if you sell now you are just dumb! Tongue

Hopefully we've reached peak dumb.

Been away for a few days and there is huge amount of posts to catch up on.  Was there any announcement on the OS-X wallet?  Also could someone kindly point me to the official (non-hacked/compromised) windows wallet please?

I added SMAC to https://explorer.triangles.technology .

Additional block explorer, can't harm to have a backup. Smiley

Nice:)

Noobie.io seems a cool start for a crypto market place..

here is my first item https://noobie.io/Entertainment?product_id=545

I also asked for digibyte support and they said that for a coin to be added has to be on coinpayments.net
Noobie.io does not appear to get much traffic anyhow. It only has a global ranking of 3,921,836, according to alexa.com.
http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/noobie.io

Well, this is a poor attitude. We need to be EVERYWHERE. Noobie.io is very young anyways; but it's a great site with potential.

I totally agree!  DGB needs to be everywhere, and the Noobie site looks like a very good place to start.

Its low Alexa ranking is, of course, entirely due to the fact that it is a very young site; by definition, every new site will have  a low ranking for a while, it takes time to grow.

exactly! let's push this page Smiley It is very good coded and a very nice idea! Win win situation for DGB and Noobie

It's a nice site but it is rather concerning that they won't allow passwords that have symbols in them or are longer than 20 characters.
1731  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SMAC - Social Media Advertising, Market Live on Bittrex! on: March 16, 2015, 10:06:20 PM
Right. I'll believe it when I see it.

The buy back date should have never changed to begin with. If I didn't bring that up, then it would have still been the 27th of April... just like that statement from Smac team regarding the announcement 'the next day.'

Like anyone cares what you believe or don't believe;)

1732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SMAC - Social Media Advertising, Market Live on Bittrex! on: March 16, 2015, 03:48:45 PM

It really says something about how mature you are and how much free time you have that you are still here merely for trolling purposes.

I was one of the few people who decided to invest in your coin because I believed you were a decent person.

Unfortunately your continued childish antics and inability to set a personal feud aside means it is highly unlikely I will make the same mistake again.

Now I feel embarassed both for you and because at one point I believed in you.

If you actually had any maturity or intelligence you may have actually considered the point that some of your own potential investors may have invested in this coin.

You could have risen above your feud with Boxxa but instead chose to behave in a way that served your own ego.

However feeding your own ego at the expense of others comes at a cost.

Unfortunately the only reputation that has suffered is yours.

It really is very sad.

I want to thank wurstgelee for his help. As anyone saw by the fud I have been dealing with personal issues the last week. He has stepped up and really filled in when I needed it the most.

You are why crypto communities work.

Agreed:)

Jumbucks Announces Official Raspberry Pi and Linux builds; bootstrap.dat file

The development team at Jumbucks are currently working on a larger project for the coin (and one that will benefit other Proof of Stake coins) so we wanted to provide something for the community along the lines of where we are going.

We were very excited when the new Raspberry Pi 2 came out as this new model had 4 cores and bumped up the RAM to 1 GB.  We instantly ordered some to test things out such as active staking for the past few weeks and were pleased with the results.  Staking works great with Jumbucks on the Raspberry Pi 2!

(truncated)

This is very cool.  I have a few old Raspberry Pis lying around - never really found anything exciting to do with them - might just get hold of RP2 just for fun so I can try this out!
1735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SMAC - Social Media Advertising, Market Live on Bittrex! on: March 15, 2015, 01:12:46 PM

Look at this guy, are you serious, dont you think people are following this? i have a question for you!

1st...Which shareholder of shares(coins), would place a stupid comment like this publicly? instead of sending the SMAC team a pm? isnt that the most proffesional thing to do if you have intrest in a company, and want it to be succesfull, especially when you are a freaking escrow and are promoting coins? (WOC) for example...

2nd...if you are sooo smart and sooo proffesional, tel us, wich company pays commisions or bonus within or after a month Huh only in your crypto pump and dump world mr, you need that dont you?

this is really beyond stupidness if you are really a shareholder, i dont like to fud, but you deserve it.

I've truncated your post to save space and repetition but you are absolutely correct in everything you say.

Sadly it seems the crypto world is filled with silly 12 year olds (whether chronologically or mentally) who have no idea how companies, business, stocks/shares or indeed the real (adult) world work.

They buy up coins when they peak in price expecting a continuous rapid rise in price that will make them rich overnight.  When this doesn't happen they cry scam and panic sell their coins for a fraction of the price and move on to the next coin that takes their fancy to do the same.

Nowhere else do people expect companies to give them daily or multiple daily updates - imagine what would happen to the stock markets if people dumped their shares or cried scam just because the CEO of the company didn't give them a daily update or respond to their pathetic demands to be mollycoddled.

As I've said before if you don't have the brain to educate yourself about how these things work, or indeed you don't have the balls for the risk taking that ANY investment takes, YOU HAVE NO PLACE IN CRYPTOCURRENCIES.

This is a new area of investment and is still very much like the wild west and if you don't understand what you are doing stay out because all you are serving to do is ensure that you lose money through your childish behaviour on places like BTCtalk and worse than that you actually cause other people to lose money too.

Either man up or fuck the hell off and hide your money under your mattress!

Warm smell of colitis rising up through the air at CEX.io. Anyone think I can’t smell I mean spell colitas?
Check in was easy but I’ve been standing at the checkout desk for days now and although the bell boy said he would help me, I’m starting to think he has just run off with my bags. The largest amount of DGB I’ve been able to remove from this exchange has been 100K and it only worked once.
Oh and yes there is a 1 DGB fee on each transaction. If it was that they were after, I’d pay double or treble even to do it in fewer transactions. Anyway, until they pull their finger out and get this issue with transaction size sorted, I do not recommend using CEX to buy DGB as it would appear you can never leave.

I suspect it is a coin control issue and right now they are pretty busy due to a number of issues. I think they destroyed their wallet for another coin and didn't have a backup - resulting in them requiring outside help to work on a fix.  Either way it is not exactly reassuring and I can imagine your frustration.  Let's spread the word about this so that they do fix it and advise people to avoid using CCEX until the issues are resolved (although I doubt I would ever use them again given what I've heard lately).

OMG lost all my coins since update. It got sent to sQ3RG9NhUS6tbtE324TMHZtLpRYE3zp5xf!!!

Help me out here.. i got my wallet locked except for staking.. dont know what to do.

Maybe someone broke into your PC and stole coins? When wallet is unlock for staking, transaction are done without passing password.

but he said, it was unlocked for staking only. so there can not be a sending without password...

When I unlock my wallet for staking, it not asking me for password when I send my coins.

That's not right.  The whole point of the "just for staking" tickbox is to ensure that the password is required for any other transactions otherwise it's pointless.  If it is fully unlocking the wallet then there is a bug that needs to be fixed.

Due to continuing health issues I'm going to have to put Mana on the back burner for the time being (I haven't been able to do much anyway).  If anyone with coding/programming expertise would like to help out please get in touch as I would like to keep Mana alive properly rather than just surviving.

I don't understand the supposed bug enough to know if it harm me or not.

All can I say is since March 10th I receive about a number really close to 1% of interest per day for staking.

The wallet connects sync fast and run it since 11 days with no problem.

So where's the bug?

Over the last couple of days I've only received about 40% of what I should get.  So it is definitely there.

Thanks but WINE is buggy as hell for using with wallets.  I think it would have made more sense to have all the wallets finished before moving on with a hardfork.  Right now mac users are screwed.

Wine was buggy with the old wallet but the new one is working much better. Mine has been running/staking for a day without errors

Use this http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/

Thanks but I've had major issues with WINE in the past so wouldn't really touch it again unless I absolutely have to.  With this big a change coming it seems strange that mac users would be left out.

Patience bother we are self funded we do all from personal expense. We have 0 premine and NO IPO . Everything we are funding from personal expence and that's mostly 95% NavajoCoin Development team.
thats why we are at the TOP of Altcoins today after all our personal time and hardwork.

I know but patience is hard:)
