I'm impressed by the early progress this has made.  I just hope it lives up to the hype and people aren't put off by the odd setback given that no project runs perfectly smoothly.

What a load of bollocks.  If this were really true then why not inform people earlier - by going completely silent and disappearing for weeks  - YOU are what killed this coin.  So FUCK OFF and never show your faces in crypto again.

I know but this has been pending for ages and the wallet has even stopped syncing so it just seems like a liability.  I know they used to do a removal every couple of weeks for multiple coins.  Perhaps they haven't reached a critical number of coins to remove and that is why it hasn't happened.

I'm amazed that this is still on Bittrex - August 28th has come and gone.  Is there some secret reason it hasn't been removed?

I would urge everyone affected by this to at least tell the individual members of the dev team what you think on twitter (seems to be where they are most active) - the handles are all listed above in a previous message.  They may not want to listen or care but this should at the very least not die silently without them getting any flak for it.

A slow agonising death after the dev team disappeared.  It may not have been a scam originally but the fact that they had the ICO funds and buggered off without a second thought makes it the same in the end.  I wonder how many BTC they each made from basically doing nothing.

Well whatever the internal politics of it - as far as I know it was never made clear that he had left - I can only assume this was deliberate.  I suspect that his leaving has a lot do with the missing of deadlines and the original promises vaporising - without a proficient coder on the team it is only a matter of time before a coin will fail.  Anyway that doesn't really change anything now because the remainder of the team have bailed without the balls to even let any of us know or provide us with an explanation.  I think the best we can do is avoid anything that these people ever do in future and warn those who are unaware of their misdeeds with SMAC - they may have gotten away with this but they shouldn't be able to do it again.

I tried tweeting to all the team members.  The only person who responded was Boxxa and he told me that his involvement ended after the first few weeks once the main development work was done.  He doesn't know what has happened since with the other team members.  I didn't see this mentioned anywhere on this forum (I suppose I could have missed it) - would have been nice to know this earlier.  Perhaps this was a deliberate attempt by the remaining team members to hide this rather important information - if Boxxa was the main person doing the development work then it seems rather short sighted to let him go without replacing him since so much still needed to be done - (e.g. marketplace etc.).

Also Penn, Dadon and everyone else, I can't see how this can be saved either.  We'd need someone with sufficient programming/coding ability and some sort of plan for what to do as a substitute for the social media advertising aspects (which is obviously under the control of the dev team).

So last day of the month was yesterday and there was obviously no buyback - not that I expected it to happen anyway.  Anybody have any suggestions or are we going to declare this well and truly dead?

It only works for big companies or celebrities because they have something to lose.  Try tweeting him or the others and see what happens.  You'll most likely get no response.  There is no fucking way they are unaware of what is going on here or how badly they have let us down.  This is a deliberate silence.  Anyway if anyone thinks it's worth trying again here are the twitter handles:

This is not a case of devs being on infrequently because they are beavering away and working on important things.  

This is a coin with zero volume, declining buybacks, broken deadlines, a forgotten roadmap and a development team which refused to answer reasonable questions and then buggered off without a word.  

We all tried to help and were willing to find new ways to overcome these problems. People only started bitching and moaning after the devs stopped answering questions and vanished.

Agreed.  I must also apologise for anyone that invested in this because of my recommendations.  I truly believed this had a chance as it was a good idea and a means to get around the legal issues related to paying dividends on company shares by essentially using cryptocurrency buybacks.

With the above in mind I would be careful with Amber Coin.  The claims they are making don't make sense.  For a London based company it would be impossible to issue shares on the blockchain the way they are claiming without falling foul of UK laws/regulations.  There are no real company details, names etc on the website which one would expect for a real registered company (which would be required in order to issue shares).  Also the website appears to have been written by someone who is not a native English speaker which is also very strange for a London based company. It generally looks very amateur (even for a crypto website).
Overall even if (and that is a big IF) the operators of the coin are genuine and are a real company what they are doing would not be legal in the UK so anyone who invested would stand to lose everything if the authorities decided to intervene (which they most certainly would if it became a success).  Sorry to be negative but this one seems to be an obvious scam to someone from the UK.

Thanks for doing that but I fear that it might be wasted BTC (unless you bought from yourself in which case it would be a smaller amount of wasted BTC).  I've virtually given up on this now.  Some kind of miracle (from the devs) would be required to turn this around.

No problem mate you have stuck with it unlike 99% of the dev teams that just abandon stuff without a second thought for those who have invested.  With the anon I was referring to the full coin mixing nodes and the like that people can host themselves - I think that is what people are holding out for as a straight forward/easy way to do that is kind of the holy grail if you can achieve it - I think that is still being worked on right?  I think you are on the right track with it all though with slow and steady progress whilst also spreading the word like on Friday's talk.  Eventually the gains and true appreciation for your work will come:)

It's headed to sub 1000 right now looking at the order books (just remove the obvious bot orders).  It will be a long time before the anon stuff gets released and once it is and confirmed to be working that's when I suspect it will take off.  People in crypto are too impatient to think long term so I think even 2k is a long way off. 

Until then it's best to quietly accumulate and not chicken out.  

Nothing's guaranteed but this coin appears to have solid developers and they aren't going to release anything shoddy.  DARK/DASH anon (and it's wallet) are still not working as they should but it has the advantage of being the first and people are going to be a lot more cynical about the next anon crypto if it doesn't work as advertised - indeed it would need to be better to stand a chance.

(Also following Package's talk it is likely there will be a price dip - seems to be the pattern of a rise on announcements/good news and a fall after - don't be shocked by it.)
