So guys your top wallet is like 73M DGB? I guess somebody with $25K can go over it with those prices.

It might be an exchange wallet.
1603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: April 29, 2016, 07:30:40 PM
So i just checked and it seems Ethereum raised 31,529 BTC (according to Wikipedia) - so Waves has some way to go to match that.
1604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: April 29, 2016, 07:15:41 PM
Smart people sell some of their holdings early on after an ICO finishes as a means of hedging their bets.  That way if the price continues to rise they still hold a decent amount of the coin/currency and if the price falls they can keep some of their BTC and use it to reinvest in another coin or if they truly believe in the coin they can buy back at a lower price thereby increasing their holdings.  Even if you 100% believe in a coin it makes sense to do this in order to protect yourself.  No matter how strong a business model a coin has it will inevitably rise and fall - so why not take advantage of that?
1605  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin needs to move to POS. Thoughts? on: April 29, 2016, 07:05:28 PM
PoS when 21 000 000 bitcoins are already mined Wink

Unfortunately that's more than 100 years away so that doesn't really help with the energy use.
1606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: N99 - MAIDSAFE - CROWDSALE DISCUSSION on: April 29, 2016, 07:02:13 PM
MAIDSAFE has a history of creating projects that exceed market capitalization very rapidly also so there is a financial reason that this has been added to the site SAFEX raised 122BTC it now has a market capitaization of 2,876 BTC.

http://coinmarketcap.com/assets/safe-exchange-coin/

The SAFEX developer seems to be working on this project.

You can view them talking here: https://youtu.be/T3cUAsoC3O0

Again not endorsement but I do alot of research on these projects as well as historical projections.

Agreed.  As with all crypto it's a gamble but for the reasons you noted I'm certainly investing but it would be sad for it to fail to reach it's full potential due to a lack of awareness.
1607  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Bitcoin needs to move to POS. Thoughts? on: April 29, 2016, 06:55:57 PM
I know it sounds like heresy and I know this is a bit cheeky but I think Bitcoin should move to POS (proof of stake) for mining rather than POW (proof of work).

I think that there are a number of reasons this would be beneficial but the main one would be a reduction in the huge amount of energy wasted in mining - I think many of us have seen the recent bad press in this regard and it is only going to get worse.

It would also allow mining on much lower level hardware and might reduce the pressure to sell (from miners who have to cover costs).

I certainly think it is an interesting thought experiment for discussion regarding the pros and cons.
1608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: N99 - MAIDSAFE - CROWDSALE DISCUSSION on: April 29, 2016, 06:44:59 PM
I understand that this is a strange project I had my hesitations before listing it on my site. But it seems that all other platforms are developing this sort of technology such as Ethereum(Ujo https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/3nde86/purchase_imogen_heaps_tiny_human_with_ether_on/), Bitshares(Muse/Peertracks) and otherwise. I'm not endorsing this project in anyway, but I think it's a nice project to look into apart from the typical financial, cryptography, finance related technology. Many people have told me that this person is very reputable in MAID I know this project is very different but we need some diversity in projects.

I agree.  I think this is legit as any other project.  The lack of an official thread is just a major issue.
1609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: N99 - MAIDSAFE - CROWDSALE DISCUSSION on: April 29, 2016, 06:38:35 PM

Well done on trying to raise awareness of this.  Are you in communication with the ICO holders?  Might be an idea to suggest to them that they post an official thread (with full information) on here as their current absence is a huge mistake.
1610  Economy / Speculation / Re: $500 at the beginning of May ? on: April 29, 2016, 06:34:50 PM
Halving won't get us far, if it is only halving... If there is no real focus on the development we will get yet another pump similar to that one we had last November. How fat it can go? Somewhere between $500 and $600.

I agree I don't think it will cause a huge rise but some crazy people think it will cause a crash in price and I just don't understand how fewer coins being produced does that?  Also I think you're right the big rises in value will come from external developments that increase the uses and utility of Bitcoin not the technical side of things.
1611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: N99 - MAIDSAFE - CROWDSALE DISCUSSION on: April 29, 2016, 06:28:05 PM
How people get funding for stuff like this is beyond me.  millions of dollars just thrown at random people who (99% of the time) produce nothing in return, let alone what was promised.  soooo shady Undecided

Well in this case it's about 11 BTC but there has been way more thrown at shadier stuff than this.  I think the problem here is that the conmen know how to make a big fuss whereas the honest people get forgotten.
1612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: N99 - MAIDSAFE - CROWDSALE DISCUSSION on: April 29, 2016, 05:36:36 PM
Perhaps if the crowdsale had an official post on Bitcointalk there would be more buzz around it.  This is just sad.

Any thoughts on where price is headed in the next few months? I thought I had purchased at or near the bottom but now I'm not so sure. I'm optimistic about the long term but am uncertain about the next few months.

DGB saw 5 sats in the past, i don't think it will go back that low but it might go 30 or 20 sats

I don't think it's ever going back there i.e. sub 10,  30-50 seems to be the base and the variation depends on the general state of the alt market at the time.  Right now I think it will follow the general falling trend back to the base.  If you've been clever and sold at the top (100+) then it's a good idea to buy once it gets sub 50 - that way you can keep gradually increasing your holdings.

i believe in wave more than eth
look at the prices of eth right now and 1 month ago
many lost btc in eth

The price of anything will go up and down.  That's why it's best to sell some and take profits when it's high and then buy back when it falls.  I have no doubt that Ether will eventually rise again but right now there is a domino effect that means that people start panic selling when the price falls.  Whilst I have great confidence in Waves it would be a mistake to assume that it will be a pure upward trend in value.
1616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOTE]DNotes - Company Launch and Book for Small Business Owners in 2016... on: April 29, 2016, 05:11:06 PM

Welcome to the DNotes thread Soul_eater_123! We have had a lot of minor updates, but no press releases or bigger news. We've been focused on the launch of the book and kickstarter, the launch of the new site https://fourpillarsofbusinesssuccess.com/, and the launch of the new company (which DNotes the currency will own up to 25%). Getting very close though, within a few weeks the company will be ready and we will officially launch the kickstarter and site with the book publishing shortly thereafter, these projects always take longer than we want.

Thanks for the update.  I've held DNotes since the beginning so I'm not looking to sell - it's one of the few coins I hold long term and I understand these things will take time:)

The ICO has exceeded 6000 BTC now - does anyone remember what the figure was for Ether?

I was wondering if there are any recent official updates on DNOTEs as the front page only has updates from 2015 as the most recent?
1619  Economy / Speculation / Re: $500 at the beginning of May ? on: April 29, 2016, 03:27:49 PM
The price should be way higher but that would assume that the BTC price and people's behaviour follows common sense!  Also if someone can explain to me why some people think the halving should lead to a price fall I would be grateful.
