1541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: May 08, 2016, 05:49:43 PM
To tell u the truth, that s my feeling exactly, that the team does not give a shit about Factom community. They needed us during the fund gathering phase but now final consumers are what they care about.

Yes, I d gladly sell now but the demand s so weak I dont want to crash the price and lose money. So I have to find another way.

Selling now would be a big mistake.  This has the biggest growth potential of any altcoin - more so even than ether.  The reasons have been clearly stated in the various posts by people like Tempus.  It would be like selling Bitcoin when it was worth a dollar.
1542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][RISE] Rise | ICO STARTS MAY 10th | AFFILIATE MARKETING PROGRAM on: May 08, 2016, 02:43:39 PM
So a LISK clone doing an ICO after LISK ICO has finished (and LISK is about to be released)?

What's the point?  LISK will be out very soon and nobody will even remember this.

Remember the ETHER clones that tried to launch before it came out?

- No - well that's the point and they were at least trying to do it before ETHER/ETHEREUM was released.

This is a good way to lose Bitcoins.
1543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How to buy DAO tokens the easy way using Bittrex on: May 08, 2016, 02:12:19 PM
I've been surprised at the number of people who keep asking about how to buy DAO tokens so I thought it might be useful to start a new topic about it.  If you are not technically minded or have not recently updated your MIST wallet and don't want to wait for it to update the Bittrex DAO page is a quick and easy way to do it.
Before starting you will need to have some ETHER.  ETHER is the currency used to purchase DAO.  The easiest way to get it is in exchange for Bitcoins and you can do this directly on any exchange (including Bittrex).  At the initial price you get 100 DAO tokens for 1 ETHER (https://daohub.org).

A) Transfer Ether to your Bittrex wallet (if it is on another exchange or in your MIST wallet).  If you don't have a bittrex account you will need to make one first. (https://bittrex.com)

B) Once the Ether is in your Bittrex Ether wallet you can go to the Bittrex DAO page (https://bittrex.com/balance/dao).

C) Click on the generate address button to generate your DAO address (Step 1) then enter the amount and click on the transfer button (step 2).

D) Confirm you want to withdraw your Ether to the DAO creation address (enter your 2fa code if required) and wait up to 30 minutes.

E) After a while the number of DAO tokens will be listed on the same page under where it says Step 3 "Validate your balance".

Important Notes:

-If you are really wary or unsure try going through the process with a small number of Ether.

-You can do it as many times as you like during the DAO creation period using the same address. Just remember to go through the steps as above (except for Step 1 on the DAO generation page as you only need to do this once).

-You will always need to send your ether to the regular Bittrex wallet first then use the Bittrex DAO page to transfer it. You can't just send directly to the DAO creation address.

-You won't be able to trade DAO or move it from Bittrex until the DAO creation period is over (28th May 2016 at the earliest).

-For more information on the dao go to: https://daohub.org

So I can buy DAO directly from bittrex?

Yes just use the link: https://bittrex.com/balance/dao
1545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MNM][ICO] MINEUM | Be ready to take your share! | x13 on: May 07, 2016, 04:43:26 PM
This idea might have worked in 2011/2012.  Otherwise it is doomed to failure.

There is no way a mining farm in Canada can compete with the large farms in China.  It would be completely unprofitable if it were launching now and given the long timeline will be even worse when it does.

Mining is no longer viable unless you have direct access to ASIC manufacturers and that means you have to be in China.  It's sad because it means mining will continue it's inevitable march towards being a purely Chinese domain with the risks that creates for all of us.

Unless you are willing to invest for purely altruistic reasons i.e. to delay the total centralisation of mining in China then there is no point in investing in this.
1546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 07, 2016, 04:09:43 PM
How much coins I will have for 1BTC Huh

Nobody knows until the ICO is over.  Please read the OP in future.
1547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH to DAO swap at Bittrex on: May 07, 2016, 02:09:25 PM
What is DAO speculation value? Ill buy some tokens today and wanna some infornation to calculate my probably profit.
Lets be rich! Wink

The speculation value is $1 trillion per DAO token.
1548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: May 07, 2016, 01:50:36 PM
For me, the normal price would be at least $20 per 1 factoid. It will, but not soon.
If Factom catch up Ethereum, the price will be $70-$85 per 1 factoid. Many do not rule out that it is quite possible that the Factom caught Ethereum approximately through 1 year.
Today factoid 100% is very undervalued. The current price factoid is just a shame for the Factom team.
The future will show. Smiley

Well it's about a dollar right now so $20 is not really that outrageous.
1549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ether price? on: May 07, 2016, 01:48:23 PM
Hmm 2.44 million ETHER removed from the market and the price is going down?  Doesn't make sense.
1550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 07, 2016, 12:11:00 AM
The Announcement says:

"Besides liquidity provision and exchange services, gateways also manage AML/KYC policies, making decentralized blockchain value transfers compliant."

I doubt that will ever happen that with Mycilium:

Mycelium Holding LTD, Emmanouil Roidi, Kirzis Center, 2nd floor, Office D25, Agias Zonis, 3031, Limassol, Cyprus
Mycelium SIA, 34-1 Blaumana Street, Riga, LV-1011, Latvia

Really - why? Just because they are based in Latvia?  Lol - I'm sure they will make it without your bigotry laden contribution.
1551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: May 06, 2016, 11:59:06 PM
I very much doubt that the Factom team cares what happens on here at all.  They only needed us during the ICO phase so that they could raise the BTC they needed.

Right now they are creating a legitimate business and are more interested in courting large corporations and governments to grow the business further.  The Factom price or the support of the crypto community is irrelevant to them and time spent on here only detracts from them making more deals in the real world.

That's the way things are going right now, sad to say. The grassroots base is slowly turning into "Amateur Hour." Undecided

But to cheer everyone up, I thought of a use case that's so homey it's almost embarrassing: using entry credits to record test scores. Have you ever taken a typing course? If so, do you find it hard to proofread? It occurred to me that running your typing practice through an SHA2 hasher would make proofreading less difficult.

Case in point:

I've truncated the quote of your post to save space but that is very ingenious and simple.  I'm surprised nobody else has thought of it.  For all we know some government may already be experimenting with using Factom to do this for formal tests.
1552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: May 06, 2016, 11:48:04 PM
Yes.  I just permanently keep my Factom lent out.  That way it is at least slowly growing as opposed to doing nothing.

So you're one of those keeping the daily loan rate below 0.01%!  Smiley

I wish I could afford to keep the interest rate down and still profit.  No I have it spread out across the different levels hoping that the rate will gradually go up!  Sometimes they all manage to get lent out, sometimes only small amounts at the lower levels.  Sadly nothing above 0.01 has worked thus far but maybe over time that will happen.
1553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 06, 2016, 11:44:07 PM

This is very useful information.  I'm glad I invested in both these projects.
1554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 06, 2016, 10:06:43 PM
when will waves bounties be given

When the ICO is over.  Perhaps we could have this added more prominently to the OP as people keep asking this?
1555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 06, 2016, 09:04:13 PM
What's funny is, the ones that are shilling probably invested less than 1btc and the ones that have invested much more have yet to mention anything about the price.  lol

I invested a decent amount but speculation about price is just that - speculation and it doesn't mean a thing.  If people really want to help their investment grow they should spread the word about WAVES.
1556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: May 06, 2016, 08:17:28 PM

They know that at some point the price of those tokens will shoot up but why pre-empt the situation and make things more difficult for themselves?

Indeed they may prefer the price to stay as low as possible for as long as possible for reasons of utility and also in case they want to buy up tokens themselves.

Personally I prefer this approach because it benefits us all in the long term.  Once they are large enough and have the big deals finalised there will be plenty of time for the PR side of things.
1557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin- FINAL 2.0 LAUNCHED! *ENCRYPTION, MARKETPLACE, BTC INTEGRATION* on: May 05, 2016, 09:55:15 PM
It'd be nice if Sys hooks up with big names like Amazon and E-bay...  Smiley

That would be nice but they would more likely spin out their own virtual currency and use that.  People have been asking them to allow bitcoin for years but they don't care.
1558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH to DAO swap at Bittrex on: May 05, 2016, 09:45:54 PM
For those interested DAO has now surpassed what Ether raised and it's only been six days.

Currently 1.99 million ETHER worth approx $19.57 million dollars.

Still 22 days to go and 8 days left at the discounted rate.  Any ideas as to how much the final tally will be?
1559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ether price? on: May 05, 2016, 09:44:33 PM

Good luck your project WAVES.

It was a joke.  (Or maybe I'm joking now!)
