-snip-

This is only true if you play with the default settings. An experienced gambler with a good strategy is certainly capable of making a profit.

No, what SquallLeonhart said is always true. No gambler can change the mathematics governing a dice game.
The house edge guarantees that the gambler will lose in long term. There's a simple mathematics. In a game with odds of 2, the chance of winning is always lower than chance of winning. In a game with 50% win chance, the odds are always lower than 2. More you play, closer you get to statistical distribution of outcomes and you will certainly lose.
Note that all bets are independent from each other. So, no strategy works. However you change the odds or chance win, the site has advantage against you.

PS:
I'm not saying the game is not fair. Freebitco dice game is provably fair.
The house edge is needed for every gambling site to survive.
The house edge in freebitco is 5%. But a big part of that goes to faucets, reward points, weekly lotteries, daily jackpot, monthly contest. There is also a Lamborghini lottery. So, the percentage of wagering volume goes to house is way lower than 5%.

If you have a large enough balance and a good strategy you can go a very long time without going bust. The house edge tells you how likely you are to lose but if your balance is large enough you can make up for those losses before you run out of money.

I don't think we should see any gambling platform as a chance to make money. I think I've been at this site for a really long time and invested a lot of time and bitcoin into it. I won't need to say if I made money or not, the point is, I came here to enjoy myself and despite having some bad stuff happen to my account and balance, I've gotten over it.

Now referring people to make money is something else;)
When there is someone who tells you it is possible to make money on something that is mathematically impossible to make money, you know it is either a great scam or it is just lucky for some people. Right now we have provably fair, that means that casino is not stealing from you, it also means that they are true to their word and make 1% profit as well. What does that tell you? Gamblers has to lose so others can win. Here the house edge is even bigger, it is 5%.

Yes, you can make a profit in the shorter term, it is actually possible to wager 1000 dollars on 2x and win another 1000 and stop and be in profit, that is true. However the longer you play, the bigger chance of losing because eventually that house edge will eat up all your profits and make you lose money.

This is only true if you play with the default settings. An experienced gambler with a good strategy is certainly capable of making a profit.
2483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Casimero Bantamweight Unification Fight on: March 14, 2020, 07:02:08 PM

With so many events cancelled and suspended like the NBA, PBA in the Philippines, i think this fight might be move to a later date if ever there is no success in combating this COVID-19.

World title fights also in jeopardy due to COVID-19 threat

Measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) are threatening to postpone two world title fights featuring world champions Jerwin Ancajas and John Riel Casimero.

https://sports.mb.com.ph/2020/03/13/boxing-world-title-fights-also-in-jeopardy-due-to-covid-19-threat/

Thanks for this news, at least we know in advance so we will not expect anymore that this fight will happen per schedule.
Actually I don't know that Ancajas also have a title fight coming, someone should make a thread in this section.

That is surely a mistake, Anjacas has no world title fight.

Going back to Casimero vs Inoue, I'm sure organisers are looking ways to stage the fight without putting risk on boxing fans, I don't know how are they going to implement it, but we will see if they can make it happen as schedule so that we as boxing fans can still watch this very interesting and good fight.

They are looking at the possibility of having the fight at the UFC Apex facility.

It's because the bitcoin price was falling. If you needed $10 in wagering volume it would take a lot more BTC wagered to reach $10 in volume today than it did 1 week ago.

Hello admin,

Would it be possible, after a certain period of time, to stop getting the "Did you know" multiplier pop-up after every roll?
I've rolled 9143 times, so, yes, I'm well aware I can multiply my bitcoins up to 4750 times. And I've lost nearly 0.03 BTC thanks to it so I know pretty well I won't be using it ever again.  Grin

You can get rid of it on desktop using uBlock Origin.

Coinpot is fine for me but all the faucets take forever to load.
2488  Economy / Scam Accusations / Phishing Scam Pretending to Be BitcoinTalk Website on: March 02, 2020, 08:21:03 AM
Today I received an email that was supposedly from BitcoinTalk support. The email had a link where the text looks like a BitcoinTalk url but when you click on it it takes you to a different website which looks exactly like BitcoinTalk but the url in the address bar is different.

I started to bet in Multiply BTC and set up the Auto-bet settings, does ON LOSE INCREASE BET BY 12% really working? I don't see it reflects on the screen while it keeps on rolling...

Anyway, I also tried making the bet odds to 4,750 with bet 2 satoshis and hit it unexpectedly. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a screenshot of it just to show proof here and tried to find the bet history now, can't see it anymore. I think because the showing results is only limited.

If your base bet is 2 satoshis, 12% of that is less than a satoshi so that's why you don't see your bet increasing.
I don't understand. I'm also doing this auto bet setting on other dice games and seeing the bet is increasing when it's in losing side and before it rolls another dice, returns to base bet when hitting a winning bet.

Other sites might handle rounding issues differently.

2491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do some gamblers actually win? on: February 17, 2020, 01:18:48 PM
On all the dice sites I gamble on I'm close to breaking even. I believe it is possible to make a profit but it is not easy. It took me some big losses and trying hundreds of strategies to come up with something where I am doing okay and not having any significant losses.
2492  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What wallet should I use for Bitcoin? on: February 09, 2020, 04:00:04 AM
Breez Wallet was the first lightweight non-custodial wallet with Lightning Network support. I buy a lot of gift cards so this is a good choice for me.
2493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: who still use freebitco on: February 08, 2020, 08:29:36 AM
I use it every day for faucet claims and gambling. I've referred over 100 users. I can't say I've made a lot of money but with free rolls, referral commissions, and interest I've earned almost 0.015 BTC, which is great considering the average claim amount is around 20 satoshis.
2494  Economy / Gambling / Re: How To Win 0.2 BTC From 0.8 BTC Balance In Dice Fast - In 10 Minutes on: February 07, 2020, 06:31:03 PM
Playing low risk, low reward is the only method that is effective for me in dice. Even then I still occasionally have unlucky streaks where I lose a large percentage of my balance.

A provably fair lottery sounds like a good idea. If they bring back investing in the casino bankroll maybe there could be an option to have a percentage of dividends paid in lottery tickets.

People will definitely buy them. There are already tons of vendors selling premium upgrades on RedditBay.

Everybody here is waiting for the announcement this fight is a legacy fight for each other both of them are in the prime of their career, both of them a champion, this is a mega fight in the making and I'm sure it will shake the boxing world just like the last fights of both fighters.

The fight was already announced.
https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/28608667/naoya-inoue-unification-bout-john-riel-casimero-set-april

I favor Inoue to win but maybe he made a mistake in coming back to soon an could suffer the same fate as Kell Brook who had the same injury against Golovkin and was re-injured when he fought Spence.
