Not this one. I am not in favor of gay adoption. The gay parents are much more likely to abuse their children, when compared to the heterosexual parents. Studies indicate that they are almost 50 times more likely to abuse children.

Please link the studies.

BCC already immensely successful. $1000 in November.

That's why I bought some BCC... the BCC price chart looks ridiculously similar to any other alt coin, like Dash, first PUMP, then hitting the bottom followed by raising up to the ATH.

I still believe in Bitcoin, but BCC is really good for speculations and we can make even more bitcoins by trading Bitcoin Cash.

Today when Segwit locks-in, we can see a good rally in both BTC and BCC, but you'll probably get more profit with BCC and selling tomorrow.

BCC is going to be the preferred Bitcoin by miners and retailers. Average people don't care much for social conventions of using the "original" and these conventions breakdown with technological innovation. That's why ETH was seriously feared to flip BTC. BTC is like a cell phone from the 90's, it's useful and necessary but when you have an smartphone it becomes obsolete. BTC sycophants think their coin is a priceless artwork that will continue to appreciate in value for their entire lifetime and beyond but I don't think this will be the case. If something better comes along, like a copy with significant improvements that will be preferred, just like the smartphone. BCC has improvements on BTC and who knows, might utilize smart contracts in the future while BTC is left behind. I'm sure BTC will retain value but it might be superseded by BCC in the future.

What is the best solution to resolve our problem in overpopulation?

1. Hormonal changes.  Forced or voluntary.  Less sex, less conceptions.

2. Sterilization on a mass scale.  One child per family globally.  You have a child, both parents need to undergo permanent sterilization before they receive the child. If they refuse, they should be arrested and undergo forced sterilization and pay for it.
 
3.  Tax incentives, no income or sale tax, free housing for those who undergo permanent sterilization voluntarily before having children.

It is a hard problem to solve because any modification to human behavior go against our natural survival instincts.




I like number 3, it is a reward mechanism versus a penalty mechanism. I think that could be a successful initiative. The rest are pretty harsh!

No Emergency Difficulty Adjustment is a weakness in BTC, if BCash's difficulty can adjust to make it more profitable and miners leave BTC for it, it's big trouble. 

I cashed a few BCH in, I think I might hold the rest for now - just in case...

yep. that was my point.

And it was an interesting one.  Hedging bets is always a good idea.

I was thinking 'thousands of bucks for free' and yet now I am thinking 'maybe I should hang on'

The profit ratio deficit has closed massively in a few days and BCH is already clipping over $300 - not much more and it's possibly at mining profit parity....  Always expect the unexpected and live a little easier: BTC was never an easy ride, and no one here knows what may come next.

I guess my thoughts are... How you gonna feel if BCH soars and BTC tanks if you sold 'em all at $200?

Let's see if Segwit locks in and then if there are further forks...  A few months to go, surely - unless Wall Street FOMO hits and that wall of money is real.

I get a little nervous when MSM starts actually turning pro-bitcoin. I always think, "Why are they suddenly promoting it? What's in it for them?" They've been relentlessly negative and dismissive for 8 years. Even at times laughing at Bitcoiners.

yep. that was my point.

At the moment miners leave the BTC chain it will become more economical viable for other miners to mine on the BTC chain.
(While the price is stable of course)

IMO it's not entirely clear that any digital system will be able to be sentient. If you're just moving bits around according to some formula, like rocks in sand, can the result really ever be comparable to a human mind? Current science indicates that the human mind, and indeed the universe, should be computable, but I find the notion that any such computation would be "real" to be highly unintuitive, at least.

And certainly you don't get an AI or a working mind or a teaching mechnism by just dumping data somewhere...

Scientists have already emulated a worm's brain with computers, though this worm only has 302 neurons. Adult human brains are closer to the ballpark of 85 billion neurons, but at how many neurons do we stop treating something like a bunch of bits and start treating it like something that really thinks? Evolution crossed that line, as we're here now, so I don't see why computing can't cross it too eventually, but I have no idea who is going to define at how many neurons or transistors or whatever is the point where we can look at something and say this can be sentient.

They want to. They didnt yet. And as far as i know it doesnt work (as of 2016).
If you could create a strong AI by simulating a neuronal network we would be done 20 years ago.

There is a strong correlation between high IQ and wealth.

I don't see how all humans from all cultures could score the same unless they were all trained to process in the same way too. As IQs are rising generation by generation then it must be a cultural thing rather than a biological thing. You don't evolve more intelligence in one generation.

If the IQ test was for funny comments you'd be right up there gentlemand.

About the increasing iq - it is called the flynn effect and i think its cause is mainly better nutrition and higher social standards overall.
(A counter example could be east asia though)


About iq:

It is highly correlated with intelligence.
Iq test usually check visuo-spatial (e.g. math,pattern) and verbal (e.g. language) intelligence.
A proper iq test would not include socio specific knowlegde e.g. you could test an amazonian native or an european (see raven matrices).


Imho ibian got it pretty good with the word potential.
A high iq person has high intellectual potential but that doesnt mean he can/will use it.
