Let me get this straight. You're telling people that centralized, valueless, imaginary tokens are better than gold and silver, yet in order to try and trick them into believing you, you're forced to use the word "gold" in your sentence and claim that bitcoin is "gold". Talk about bad propaganda. You're right, gold isn't even gold anymore, because the thing it used to be has been completely destroyed by Central Bank manipulation. Bitcoin is a "digital commodity." Gold is just a shiny rock dug up from the ground. There, fixed. For all intents and purposes, gold and silver still work as perfectly fine as ever. The term you're looking for is rehypothecation. Lots of people who believe they're holding gold or silver hold none because the bank has rehypothecated them and given them worthless digital numbers instead, so the only people who hold any type of value are the ones who hold physical in their possession, while everyone else has been robbed by the bank. Yeah, they give you a piece of paper and say yes we are holding your gold, and then you feel safe....WHY!!!!! I buy a bitcoin, I can track it monitor it, etc etc etc on a trusted ledger this is beautiful Fudders will tell you that you are buying a chinese digital coin which in 10 years will be fully centralized and controlled by the chinese .gov. |

Great news update we just received on Slack, Peculium is now an official Google partner! Great announcement from the Team that working really hard behind the scenes!
Does it mean that it will be acquired by Google sooner or later? Many people are talking that Peculium is the project to invest in but I would like to see it independent. No..I don't think it will be acquired by google they might have just bought some percentage of shares from peculium, peculium won't disappoint you if you invest in it... No need to worry about Google, they are not evil Peculium's longterm goal is a complete and fully decentralised platform with self gonvernance - where even AML AI and Big Data analytics will run on the blockchain - a true financial market 2.0  So there wont be a problem even if one company would buy majority of PCL tokens in existence! |

Win Win situation  Okey cool! what kind of data? just what the AI accumilates and sorts? or also the data of people participating in the blockchain etc? shouldn't that be a disclaimer? Personally i'm no privacy nut, but as far as i see these privacy coins mooning it is my understanding that alot of people here do care. Thats why i'm asking these questions  NO! Without some more info all these partnership logos are worth nothing. My company is a Lenovo Partner, all I had to do for that was to signup on a web page. If there were any huge announcement to be made I'm sure it would have been done, not just a logo added to the webpage. There will be an announcement very soon Zeppelin and TechRacers did our smart contract audit, Atarad is helping us with the ICO and Google... hm...? |

It doesn't like this cherade of 'wall street' and winklevoss twins and feds and fiat - being another cog in the wheel. Government approval and stock markets were not in the whitepaper. Any particular reason why Arb bots are not buying BTC from finex and selling them on Bitstamp, Gdax and Gemini. Surely a spread of 5% plus that Finex had for quite some time would be worth it. I would think the arb bots would be bringing these markets closer together. What is Spoofy up to?  Bitfinex prices are not real USD but USDT, which is at this moment 2% over USD. That reduces 5% to 3% profit. Also Bitstamp doesn't do USDT. I think Gdax and Gemini neither. That 3% is probably not worth arbitraging in a so volatile moment like this and Bitfinex adds too much third party risk over other exchanges (which also have some third party risk). Lastly, you can only do that once if you have the funds already in both exchanges. After that, you need to transfer the funds, pay tx fee's, wait for only god knows how long until the exchange release the withdrawal and it gets enough confirmations on the receiving exchange. So... in the end a theoretical 5% spread is not that much when all factors taken into consideration. I thought the arb bots don't actually transfer coins via exchanges very often. I thought they have both assets on both exchanges and simply make the exchanges simultaneously on both exchanges. For example, I use my USDT on Bitfinex to buy BTC and at the exact same time sell some of my BTC on Bitstamp or Gdax. The only time that I would have to worry about transfers is if the supply of one of my assets is low. My understanding was that arb bots do not do"all in" trades, but many small trades, so the don't get stuck having to transfer assets too often. That only works if the exchanges keep swapping sides. Normally one is permanently higher than the other. even if not - arbitrage means that you bring the price on several exchanges in a equilibrium --> in the process your fiat/btc amount will change on the exchanges thus you have to bring this into equilibrium too and withdraw fiat/btc. |

Gosh - waking up with -25% BTC was one of the best things this year so far I blame all this shit on buttfinex and coinbase I was really thinking of getting all BTC's out of my cold wallet... but then decided to just get 20% out and play with the market. The question is now dead cat or no dead cat? Do i believe the deep learning AI - her forecast is a dead cat high of 16,2 k and then dump to 13.2 k ugh?  |

A couple of ideas that have been floating around in my head:
1. To attain ranks above Member, you'd have to earn some number of merit points. Merit points would be awarded in a monthly vote on best posts of the previous month, with various measures (TBD) to prevent gaming of the vote. Winning merit points might also come with a BTC prize.
2. Create or designate some sections as "serious discussion" sections, with no signatures. In those sections or maybe in different ones, also have poster restrictions such as Member rank or above only. And/or allow topic-creators to set these restrictions on their topics, similar to selfmod topics.
What do you think of these ideas, and what other ideas do people have?
I am actually happy that we are really having a discussion about this. But truth be told, even implementing the whole of the suggestions by people, will not solve all of our problems rather it would only mitigate it to a large extent and I would suggest that after the thread has gathered enough contributions, actions point should be sorted based on opinions that have been expressed then we can all vote on which line of actions because not everyone can be heard the same way not everyone can have something to say.The issue of member rank before posting should be that people below certain ranks, should not be allowed to post outside certain section of the forum maybe beginners and help and the point to be garnered should be on completion of some tasks such as reading and understanding the forum rules, unwritten rules, what could interpret as untrustworthy actions etc. no votings please - here a people that run around with hundreds of accounts |
