7621  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why entry to crpyto space is very difficult for newcomers? on: August 27, 2019, 11:18:06 AM
I am a beginner in this space and have been trying to find my way around to learn some stuff. before joining this community I was told that there will be community who will be able to help you and guide you.

However so far what I have seen is there is a hardly a community, some people are busy shilling their projects they don't even care of users some KOLs trying to pump a certain token to
drop it on his audience and many other individuals are as toxic as a human can be again now everyone but majority.

We all want this community grow and adopted by masses but don't we have responsibility or a role to play with in this ecosystem?

I am seeing new people joining this space everyday full of questions and if you can just answer one question or share one of your experience with them  that is more than enough.

Beginners, they don't want you to hand hold them all the way, just show them a path to follow that is it but what is happening is now everyone is trying to take advantage of newbies.

why? Simple they dont know much, they dont know about scams schemes, they dont know about telegram bots, they dont know about many things.

Yet, they can be informed and can be educated by us, a simple topic for you could be a vital information for other, don't be afraid to share.

And if you want to start now join the movement we have created a subreddit called NewbieZone ( https://www.reddit.com/r/NewbieZone/ ) We have one aim and that is share all the good guides
and good content related to crypto in here for beginners, so this subreddit can act as pathway to beginners!

Feel free to share your own articles or post others that you personally like and help this community grow cheers!

First of all, beginners have to be ready to learn and educate themselves, and not just rush into things. Take things slowly, for example good start is reading Bitcoin whitepaper, i am sure that many people never bothered to do that, let alone newbies. sad true is that most of the people are into crypto for profit, and not technology, no matter what they say, so they don't take time to slowly absorb so much info. They want everything and they want it now.

I don't think it is fair to say that this forum is not opened to new members. Literally every day new guide threads are made, covering every possible aspect of crypto market, warning newbies of possible scams and giving all kind of advices.

I joined your subreddit, and see you there as well Smiley
7622  Economy / Reputation / Re: Feedback on BitcoinTalk is used for rage over deleted comments on: August 27, 2019, 10:45:35 AM
Today, we received 3 different negative feedback because we deleted some comments on a self moderated topic. We see that the feedback option is only used for messaging and rage over the deleted comments.

You didn't get negative comments  just because deleting posts, you got negative tag for deleting negative comments , instead properly answering to them.

If you are running legit organization, answer these accusations and provide some proof, but instead you opted for deleting comments. And if you can't give proper proof, then you  will be consider as scammer.

It wouldn't be the first time that someone here is pretending to be from some organization and asking for charity, while running a scam.
7623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to create your own cryptocurrency? on: August 27, 2019, 07:30:07 AM
Before creating a new cryptocurrency,  please first ask yourself do you really really need your own cryptocurrency for the idea you are working on. In these last few years we saw numerous projects that are not adding any real value, and that they don't have any real need for cryptocurrency, but decided to do it anyway just because it is popular to put the word "crypto" and "blockchain" somewhere in order to attract investors.

We have seen tokenization of practically everything , leading to that ICO bubble, and that ended up with people loosing hundreds of millions of dollars. So please, if you really don't have proper need for token/coin, don't go that path.

Jurrasic Park quote  fits nicely here

''Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.''
7624  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Democrats Have no Credible Candidate Yet on: August 27, 2019, 07:11:26 AM
If there's a recession, any of them would at least have a chance.

Even absent a recession, I think Buttigieg or Sanders would have pretty high probabilities of winning. Buttigieg is really good at coming across as stable, which a ton of people have been missing with Trump, but he also comes across as honest, and he doesn't have much baggage. Sanders has a lot of credibility and passion, and he eats into a big chunk of Trump's base, though his policies may be too far left for the wider electorate.

No matter what you want to accomplish, overconfidence is one of the biggest mistakes you can make. That's how Hillary Clinton lost. Paths exist for anyone in the race to win against Trump, or for Trump to win against anyone, even if some paths are pretty unlikely.

My GF is closely blood related to Buttigeg and I have met a lot of his immediate family from where he is originally from but he is way too far left for us..
It's a shame but we aren't about to support him because we know him..

Trump is too far left for me too but is easily the lesser of evils so Trump 2020 for sure..

Buttigeg is a queer and flaunts it to his advantage with the libtards posting trash about transexual rights etc.. Gross..
Sanders is a flippin commie - enough said..

Ateast Trump got us some decent scotus judges and hopefully gets another one soon from RBG retiring or whatever..
I want someone stronger on the 2nd amendment than Trump though..

Trump is a centrist really but America is pretty centrist and I think Trump has done decent to keep our centrist country strong, but I am not centrist, i'm more anncap, but the USA isn't just going to go straight libertarian/anncap and we need to keep up our huge military or be destroyed at the first sign of weakness so I have to compromise my views for what's best for the current America..
We can never be small government libertarian isolationist because they would come attack us as soon as we let our guard down guaranteed..

IMO what we need is to keep the huge military because it is our only option to stay alive now, but they can leave us the F alone with their laws and cut the heck out of all welfare programs..

I like the dog eat dog darwinism the strong survive philosophy but good luck getting people to agree to let poor people starve to death and die on the streets now that we have fed baithed and housed them like babies for so long..
We are just too far gone already in that aspect to completely reverse it immediately..

That's the problem with democrat candidates now, a lot of them simply went way too left for an average American to even think about giving them a vote. You have to be a bit more towards centre in order to get enough voters, leaning too much on either side is simply not good.

If United States  backs down and goes more for isolationism, don't have any doubts whether China or Russia will try to have more influence around the world. With all it's flaws, United States are light  years away  when compared to those 2 countries, so i would rather have them as the  only true superpower. If you don't believe me, ask people in eastern Europe that lived behind iron courtain for 45 years how was it there for them. Even eastern part of Germany still feels the effects of having soviets as bosses.
7625  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't put your full trust on exchanges regarding scam projects. on: August 26, 2019, 05:35:56 PM
I don't get it how blindly users of this forum trust IEOs.
Whenever one shows up and there is a bounty campaign or something, they go to it like a honeybee and then when that exchange-listed token does not give them a penny, they come to know that they lost all their time and words behind a project that was not trustworthy and come up with complains of unpaid bounties. This thread must serve to them as a lesson and they should understand that not all projects here are trustworthy but very, very few ones can turn out to be good. Don't fall in the money mud that is attracting you, it may look like chocolate but there's a saying:  'Everything that shines is not Gold'.

This is just continuation of ICO craze, but with this people somehow think it is much safer just because it's been run on the exchange. Like we haven't seen enough of dodgy projects and scams being listed on exchanges so far, and this is similar thing. If you have enough money you can also start IEO, without having anything tangible to show, and if it is on the big exchange, people will buy it, without having any clue what they are buying.
7626  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't put your full trust on exchanges regarding scam projects. on: August 26, 2019, 01:34:13 PM
Every part of crypto is bleeding out for regulations, scammers are getting more smarter and they are taking scam strategy to a whole new level, gone are those days that you can rely on projects that finally made it to coinmarketcap but today not anymore, seriously we need regulation in crypto space to put a stop to all this madness

Don't think there was even a time best to relay on coinmarketcap, to guide you with your investment decision. There was never a time to trust coinmarketcap as the site doesn't carry-out proper research before listing a project. I remember when selfdrop scam were all over the community, coinmarketcap listed this project without verifying their authenticity. These projects raise hundreds of ethereum, listed on any useless exchange available, next apply to coinmarketcap, get listed after that, off they went with investors fund and abandon the project.

Regarding the CMC, if i remember correctly they advertised Bitconnect on their website.Maybe not willingly  but they could block their ads once it was certain that it is  a huge scam. They reacted later, but IMO reaction should have been faster, fewer people would loose money.

Trust no one.
7627  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't put your full trust on exchanges regarding scam projects. on: August 26, 2019, 07:16:24 AM
I remember making a simple write up back in Feb about money ruined everything.
I know that ICOs my now not have that much hype but i think IEOs do

In the write up. i tried it illustrate how the "coin/token investors" were getting ripped right and left by Exchanges, ICO creators or owners and ICO listing websites

Here is a snippet

Investors have been milked over and over again by these three.
- ICO and Coin Ranking Websites
- Crypto Exchanges
- ICOs and existing project Teams.

More details here: Current situation, how investors/traders are enriching these three.

You will understand why the exchanges and ICO ranking/review websites keep listing even scam ICOs... it always about greed and money.

That is true, IEOs might end up the same way ICOs did. We have seen surge of those lately, even the smallest exchanges have launchpads are have IEOs running, everyone wants their piece of cake and they don't care much about quality of the project. Huge majority of them doesn't  bring any new value to the market, and we know how that ended for ICO investors.
For now it keeps on as people are making money, especially from IEOs on top exchanges, but eventually that will stop and investors will start loosing money left and right.

How do you imagine 2050? are the cars flying, does the climate get better, are we on mars yet, what are the biggest innovations. Lets talk about it

Changes won't be that dramatic i think to expect flying cars and stuff like that. But, we will live longer, less people will die due now incurable disease as medicine will certainly advance and in general quality of live will improve across the planet. And of course Bitcoin will dominate Cheesy

If you check all major parameters, situation now is better than it was in 1989 ( 30 years ago), and i expect it to continue that way. Don't believe those pessimists that claim world is worse now than it was before, while we live in the best period known to human kind with less wars and less bad stuff going on around, as they are under influence of media that knows bad news sell better than the  good ones.

7630  Other / Off-topic / Re: [CLASSIC] World of Warcraft on: August 26, 2019, 05:51:12 AM
classic wow is lame, really you going to give b lizzard more of your money to play vanilla when there is like 30 free vanilla servers out there for the past 15 years?

https://elysium-project.org/
https://www.kronos-wow.com/  <--- I use this one, well used to before I got bored by lvl 8 again.
https://www.dkpminus.com/wow/private-servers/vanilla-wow/

I've been paying my  Wow subscription with ingame gold for years, and many others that have some extra gold or can't afford paying with real money. As I explained before, it is fairly easy to farm enough for monthly subscription.

Private servers are fine, but nothing can compare with quality of official Blizzard servers. I tried them out of curiousity, and they have too many bugs for my taste. It's like saying that fake iPhone you bought for 100 USD is the same as the original one. At first it may look like a real thing, but after using it for some time you will notice the difference.

That is the reason why top guild from private servers are coming to Classic.
7631  Other / Off-topic / Re: [CLASSIC] World of Warcraft on: August 25, 2019, 04:22:22 PM
I miss the old pre-WoW Warcraft games (1,2, & 3). I always thought if they made that style of game massively multiplayer with a giant world it would be amazing to play. I tried playing World of Warcraft once for a couple minutes, just wasn’t appealing to me at all.

They are unrelated except for the lore and creatures, i guess.  I did play all 3 as you did, but WoW was something to go against the likes of Everquest and the several many others from Japan and Korea, France, US, etc.

This game clicked, i think it was (is?) the most popular ever in the history of online gaming. And this is a subscription game so imagine that, no pay no play, unlike several many free to play (and often prettier) alternatives.

There is some free to watch drama on Youtube called "The Guild" i think, that portrays this feeling. Maybe it helps watching it to understand the phenomenon.

The Warcraft games you mention are not really RPG, but Action strategy, Warcraft came after Command & Conquer and Dune 2 and its almost the same thing. Then they developed further, and added some more lore and background. Since its their IP, they kept going further, and further, and further...

Tho at this point most should agree a ("Fantasy RPG") is pretty much shared nearly public domain IP, that should perhaps go more to Tolkien, but that's too long a discussion to make here.

Anyone can make a "Fantasy" game with Warriors, Archers, Magicians, Humans, Elfs and Orcs etc. Some are a bit more original than that, but people seem to be attached to the Tolkien legacy. funny that Bethesda didn't act on this, since they were so successful with their solo playing games...

Bethesda reacted a bit late with their  The Elder Scrolls Online that was released in 2014. Mmorpgs are not as popular as they used to be 10-15 years ago and it is not an easy job to get big share market  when you have World of Warcraft as main competition.

Few days before release, Blizzard decided to open 5 new EU English realms due high interest.

Quote
At this time, all realms that have a Full or High population tag are expected to experience extended queues. We urge players on realms marked Full or High to plan to play on one of these new realms to avoid the longest queues, and to help spread the player population as evenly as possible and provide the best play experience for everyone.

WoW Classic might have over 1 million players at the launch, interest is much bigger than Blizzard thought, and it is definitely good news for all of us that plan to play it.

7633  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't put your full trust on exchanges regarding scam projects. on: August 25, 2019, 06:58:18 AM
That is true, most exchanges don't really care how legit some project is. If you pay them enough, they will list just about anything.

Perfect example of that is HitBtc, well known exchange with big volume (whether its fake volume is another subject) and even bigger amount of listed shitcoins.
Even the biggest one, Binance, might not be too thorough when it comes to vetting potential listing.Example of that is recently listed Cocos-BCX. They might not be scammers, and perfectly legit project, but they obviously  are using some shady services, and i personally wouldn't invest  into something like that.

So yeah, you have to do due diligence, i go by the old saying "trust nothing you hear and only half of  what  you see".
7634  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bernie Sanders is WRONG about Sweden on: August 25, 2019, 06:11:12 AM
People who love the idea of socialism love to tout that Sweden is the best place in the world, and that it is what the USA should be. Bernie in particular echoes these statements, but these people fail to notice one key thing about Sweden -- it has RUTHLESS capitalism embedded in its nation to be able to support their massive entitlement programs.

Sweden isn't a nation that has what some call "warm, fuzzy, friendly capitalism" where people aren't fired (or laid off) and old companies are protected. This simply isn't the case in the least.

Sweden is a nation with much larger taxes on the poor and the middle class, and they feature non-progressive taxes on consumption, social security, and payroll taxes (which make up a much larger percentage of GDP for Sweden.

Sweden literally almost destroyed itself with JUST SOCIALIST policies. But they saved themselves from large scale issues by embracing large scale ruthless capitalism, with low taxes on companies and incentiving companies to come to Sweden.

[Suspicious link removed]j.com/articles/why-bernie-sanders-is-wrong-about-sweden-11566596536

That is a common misconception about Sweden, and Scandinavian countries in general.Socialist all over the world like to use it as an example, but only by cherry picking what they like about it .For example, Bernie Sanders probably forgot to mention that Sweden do not have government-regulated salaries, there is no minimum wage. We all know how Bernie likes to talk about minimum wage Cheesy

Fact is that Sweden is among top countries when it comes to economic  freedoms(they are slowly going down on the list due bad policies last years), they have high income tax ( up to 57%) while corporate tax is only 22%, as they realize how important are those that are actually generating income.
Being a socialist country and having some social aspects like " free healthcare"( even though it is hardly free, someone has to pay for it) is not the same thing.

What on Earth should happen to get merits? This new system... ah! Well may be not really new, but still. I would even buy if it were legal  Sad
P.S. yeah, I know - smart useful posts, but there should be better/quicker way.

You registered 10 days ago, wrote only 18 posts and you are already complaining about merits...this attitude won't help you much.
Getting merits is  not that hard, if you actually have something to say. There are plenty of people that are helping newbies like us and are sharing merits for decent posts.
As you mentioned it yourself, you know what is needed, so just stick to that, don't write cliche oneliners, have some clue on the subject you are writing about and merits will come.

Afterall, you can always upgrade your account to copper member if you want to  share pictures, wear signatures etc.

I've just heard of Cooper thing, but don't know details and have not even seen much such account. They bought status?

Yes, you can upgrade your account, here is the link with all info needed.

It is certainly a good way to remove some newbie account restrictions  and make it a bit easier to participate in this forum.

Bernie Sanders lost any credibility in my eyes when he supported Hillary after she beat him in the presidential nomination race. I didn't  agree with him, but at least i respected his beliefs.

First democratic party screwed and derailed  Bernie with various false claims. After Hillary won nomination, he decided to support  her, despite the fact that he is fighting against people like her his whole political career. So he basically threw all of his ideals under the bus, for god knows what reason, so all he is talking now doesn't have any weight. If they didn't let him go against Trump when he actually had some chance of winning, no hell they will let him go now. Democratic party would rather have someone like Biden, no matter how bad as candidate he is.
7639  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Democrats Have no Credible Candidate Yet on: August 23, 2019, 01:47:22 PM
I have watched all the Democratic Candidates with keen interest, trying to figure out if there is any serious contender who's capable of taking on Trump. Sadly, I have seen none. Not even close! All I see are confused set of crazy loons who doesn't even know what they are vying for. Some are so out of touch that they choose to go to Mexico to organize rallies.  Roll Eyes

Everyone of them focusing on Trump even though they haven't got close to winning their own party primary, let alone coming face to face with Trump.

Are we looking at the biggest Presidential election landslide in the history of America? Who do you think is capable of taking of Trump, it doesn't matter the party? Because it seems Trump conquers everything and anything that stands in his way.
I initially thought that Joe Biden would have been a great frontrunner who would be able to challenge Trump but it seems that even if he did win in the end, I am afraid that he wouldn't pose a great risk to Trump re-election into the white house. Bernie Sanders is however gathering steam just like he did during the last election, he has the ability to draw in the youth.

You know the saying "If you’re not a socialist before you’re twenty-five, you have no heart; if you are a socialist after twenty-five, you have no head." That explains his popularity among idealistic youth that are prone to pipe dreams like new green deal.

That is true, i watched those debates, and i also didn't see anyone who can endanger Trump. What i noticed though is that other candidates were mostly attacking Biden, and that makes me to believe that other candidates are more afraid of him than  the others.

Regarding the biggest landslide victory, i don't think that is realistic even if we count only modern presidential elections, let alone if we go back to 19th and early 20th century.Richard Nixon had very strong win in 1972, and i don't think that Trump will be capable of beating that, or even come close. But what i think he is capable of is repeating Obama result in 2008, and even beating that.
