Yeah i know they are crappy and i dont know what i was thinking when i brought them. I have been running 3 boxes just like miner99er except with 3 5830s. I was thinking of rearranging my setup to shrink down my footprint and save a little power by making my 3 card setups 4 card setups.

I was hoping someone might say (yeah i have a 4 card 5830 setup and it works great). Or higher like 5870.

The 5850s and 5770s use less power so i hope that the Coolmax could handle that load.

I have 4 of these psus and they feel cheap. i have replaced one already and want to know if anyone else has had trouble with them getting 4 cards working? 5830s to be exact. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817159101

i like that as well. As long as all my miners can be reached there is little to no delay, but an Admin mode and User mode losing some features can speed that up.

Those Chenbros look really nice but the shipping would kill it for me coming over to the east coast. 

I think with alot of 133+ cfm fans you can get the temps down. like this guy

But of course those heat sinks are aligned with the air flow, but if you design some simple copper heat sinks and mount them to the 5970s this might work. It would be loud as hell with those 40mm fans but it would only take up 1U

Thanks! Chenbro's site shows that as a tower. i ended up just going with a 3 card setup for my cluster b/c i could not find any decently priced 4 gpu rackmount cases. Maybe i should replace my setup with these RM41300-FS81?

What chassis is that? i have been looking for a 8 exp. slot rack mount for months can can only find pricey tesla supermicros and the RM41300-FS81.

I have had that happen to me recently with one msi5830 twinfroz. i lower the clock to 900 from 920 and its been stable again. it was switching to 150mhz and I had to use afterburner to get it back up but i think that's fixed in 2.2.7.  So far in the last 5 days its been fine and it is a box that i use daily. i wonder if its wear on the card. are the reef ones used?

i looked at these b/c i have some rack space,but the price was too high. I'll also tag along to see where this goes. 

Are you sure its because they are reference models?

I have 4 ref 5850s in a box that's been running for a week on cgminer 2.1.2 running. I;m not really sure whats wrong with gpu 3 why i cant push it to 900 but i don't really care its stable.

that sucks. i'v done a few deals with them and have never had a problem. one weird thing is they ship them individually.

nothing. its including the as a monthly fee regardless of usage. after initial investment its pure profit.
