I'm really racking up the SC blocks. too bad there not btc blocks.
Keep churning them out! They still exchange for BTC!  Cool

So...anything in particular the "hmblm" stands for? or is it some initials? Just curious...I see a lot of names which appear to be just...random keystrokes, and was wondering is all!
nope they are not just random. I picked it up back in 97 when yahoo was getting popular. I could't use my name for anything b/c its some dude in at the FDA and he has all the typical first initial.last name emails/usernames so i got creative (for my age) and choose homer marge bart lisa maggie in descending age. stupid i know but i can get it on every forum, username, email... if i want it.

How did you find that link? When I look under ATI 6000 series it doesnt show any 6990.

I didnt find them either by searching. I am not sure how he got the link.

sorry, didnt mean to kill your sale, but wanted to let buyers know. i'm sure when they run out again the sale is on. Just like the 5970s newegg had for the last few days.

.... Holy shit look at the price

Also some research shows them to be 2 levels below our average goods section scammer

Yes i would not buy from them but it felt good to  hear that they have all the 58xxs in stock even if it is just a false positive.

451  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Anyone tried mining with a FirePro V9800 on: September 01, 2011, 03:00:03 AM
i remember someone said your hashing speed can be calculated by stream processors divided by 4, at best overclock settings.
for stock clocks..10-20% less.

seems about right for my 5770, 5830 and 5850

well that would mean the V9800 would put it right up there with the 5870 mhash. Still its a slightly different kind of card than the V7800. the V7800 is not worht the cost but is pushing a decent 250. So i was wonder if the V9800 might have something that makes it better.
452  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Anyone tried mining with a FirePro V9800 on: August 31, 2011, 10:14:42 PM
well not exactly the FirePro V7800 can do 254.85, and the V9800 has 1600 SP not 1440 like the 7800 so is that just the difference between a 6950 and 6970 in SPs?
453  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Anyone tried mining with a FirePro V9800 on: August 31, 2011, 07:47:50 PM
Its not cost effective but it would be interesting to see what it gets.

It's about time you found a block bossman!!!!!!!

And not only one, but two!

Two with under 1 ghash under 4 hours just goes to show that it does not always matter how much. Its how lucky

Now i would like to find one just so i doesn't seem like i'm leeching all this time Smiley

Rebuilt and restarted bitcoind, it had a steady memory leak and was starting to eat into swap and slow responses. That said, the outage should have been around 1minute.

That said, even with a memory leak it ran for a good couple of weeks without a restart.

Glad to hear all the kinks are getting ironed out! You've brought this pool a long way man!
i'm newer then the rest but i know you are just one man. good work and thanks.
456  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Some one got an amazing deal on a 6970 on: August 30, 2011, 09:36:16 PM
i asked newegg if there is a report or something to notify us of open box deals or any open item deals and have not heard back.

pics with handwritten name on a piece of paper is generally the norm for users under 100 posts or other credentials as a seller.

Seems a bit high for 5770s, but i do like the extra cooler. Nice and quit i bet.
460  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Old motherboards? on: August 30, 2011, 08:24:30 PM
I had issues like this before. the kill a watt is measuring the draw between the wall and the power supply. If the the psu is not efficient it may be pulling more then the older 165 just because it it thinks it needs it. The 5830 is a power hungry beast but a decent 550 should power that system without issues. i would rma it (if you can). it may be that one of the caps blew inside but it is still working just not when you push it.
